Thanks for the kind words. I'll be satisfied with 1K, but as long as i make videos we can try to get there at least. Gotta keep the schedule up and steady. Back to editing i go
For those wandering why for armor i focus on Head and Body while not caring much about Leg and arm i added the reason in the description. For cavalry Legs will increase in importance but some units that perform very well like the Druzhinnik have a "low" amount of leg armor for cavalry units.
the weapon is simply better for the game AI. even with the 1.8.1. Ai fixes the T4 still seems to outperforms the T5 but i haven't done extensive testing yet.
there was a certain version of the game that made battanian troops ungodly good, i did a battania-only playthrough coincidentally around then and it was some of the best fun i ever had. high death rates due to low armour, but with strategy, battanians could hurl death at the enemy through javelins, arrows and throwing axes and lord was it good
See what I like to run is battanian leader with fian champions, sturgian spear and axemen is a 50/50 mix, then some vlanadian banner knight's for cav skirmishes , start with range in front unless you have the high ground, when infantry gets close charge in the inf and run cav around behind for the flank, I can beat any imperial army of similar size with no losses using this method. The other strategy I like is when you have a bridge fill it with a shield wall then an archer group on each side of the bridge and cav behind the infantry for anything that gets through
Vet Falxman used to be the best Shock Infantry in the entire game. Why and how did they manage to fck polearm A.I so bad Idk.. It was also getting started to be improved. I started playing in 2020 summer,1.4.2 Around 1.5 the game was receiving A.I buffs and cavalry was somehow missing less with their weapons on a moving targer. The A.I troops would not push all the time to stay in the right range, they'd even give priority to them beign pushed on,A.I doesn't move back to strike true for some reason. 1.8 needs ASAP an update,NOW!
I've noticed that there are no Battanian cavalry units with horses clad in the full-scaled armour, which is a shame because there really could've been Battanian heavy horsemen who could've rivalled the druzhinnik, or even the druzhinnik champion! Anyway, interesting and informative video, nice to see that at least the Battanian mounted skirmishers are worthy cavalry, though in my experience, the horsemen weren't shabby either, but probably because they were accompanied by druzhinnik and cataphracts, maybe, never saw how exclusively around 150 Battanian horsemen performed. XD
in over an year i have never realized that the Fian was missing from this video compilation. Anyway, other than my apologies here is the link to the Fian Champion analysis: ruclips.net/video/tDdjORCQv5I/видео.html
Hi I did some tests of my own on the latest version of Banner Lord with Battanian troops. The tests are obviously nowhere near as accurate and well done as those shown in this video I only threw tier 5 and 6 units against each other and observed the result. This video is a far better source for seeing how good units are than this comment but I thought I would add some extra info anyway. Use the information in the video instead of what is in this comment if there are opposing views the video was a far more well done piece of research than what I did and so is far more reliable so go with what LyonExodus said not me. Only thing my research has that is better than this one was that it was done today and so more recently. Ok so I tested the oathsworn very crudely as you would expect they are not good in melee. They seemed able to tank sharpshooter bolts ok but again other units would be way better as said in the video. Calvary test was a rout against the banner knights. I put the oathsworn stationary in a square the banner knights only lost 2 out of a 100. In the same scenario both the falxman and veteran falxman did well against the banner knights. I had a force half falxman half oathsworn it dealt with infantry well with the falxman dealing the main damage and same when I tested the formation against Calvary. Primary reason I did not go fully for falxman was how easily they get brought down by archers. Oathsworn were supposed to deal with this. Only time I was able to advance with the formation on sharpshooters without the falxman taking massive casualties was with putting the formation in engage and shieldwall. With the charge the falxman just go ahead and get shot down. Main thing is just to go slow till you get close. In a real battle I would have used my fian champions to deal with any ranged units and get the oathsworn to defend the falxman while doing so. Only use I found for the horseman was taking out enemy shielded infantry since their AI was bad and could not deal with Calvary that well. Even then I know shield infantry with good anti-cav like the legionary or heavy spearman would have made short work of them and any shock troop as well. Horsemen are pretty terrible don't think they can reliably survive a charge and they are dead if they meet other Calvary in a fair fight.
When you 6th, 5th, 9th, 2nd….. what the hell does that number even mean when you don’t tell us the number of units you are including? Say “6th out of 15” or “7th out of 8”
well this was a compilation of one of my first videos to get more visibility on the platform. they were terrible to say the least, editing and graphic wise. i am pretty sure they got much better as time went on.
The video was really good. Some stuff was lacking, like "this unit was 7th in armor" 7th out of how many!?! 100? 7? And it's written efficiency. Also I would highly recommend a speech coach. A friend of mine got ALOT of help for his speech from that. But keep up the good work. And interesting statistics!
are you going to pay for that "speech coach" ? i ain't swimming in cash, especially recently. This video quality isn't the best i am the first to know that. it was my first series of video coming back to YT after a while and my English was rusty to say the least and i was still using an old microphone. Also from my accent you should figure out i am no native speaker. i find it pretentious to ask a non native who as never lived outside of it's own country to speak as well or better than a native. It also doesn't help that English phonetics and sentence structure is far different from a neo-latin one. There is also no need to stress the "efficiency" it's clearly written well in one part of the video but misspelled later. Clearly i know how to write it, it just happened to be miss typed in that instance. Thanks for finding the statistics good, at least something was done well enough.
Oh don't be salty. It was a good video. I just said my opinions on where you could improve if you wanted. Speech coach, a few spelling mistakes, and better references when you list units in order, since there is a big difference if something is the 7th out of 100 or 7th out of 10. But again, it was a very good video with alot of testing and work done to make it.
If you find the time can you give a watch to the later releases. It's a bit hard for me to fix things i think have already been addressed. That way you can see if they are still a problem or not. This compilation of videos is very old and badly made, the later videos aren't even close.
The video is a bit old. i recommend watching the 1.0. updated version for all shock troops. They might still not be excellent but they have generally more upside than the T4 right now, even if not much the extra survivability on death and them being better against cavalry is worth the upgrade.
Im loving your videos man but your accent is confusing. Perfectly clear and understandable but I wonder where you're from? You sound like a Dutchman living in Spain or russian/slavic with an influence I havnt picked up. Maybe Baltic? Sometimes you sound Greek but have concentrated on a London accent? Haha such a pointless distraction but languages, accents and communication is a side quest of mine.
It's very hard for people to pin point my accent. Cause i have been speaking and listening to English for so long i have lost my native one. So much so that even my parents have no idea where i picked it up from. Thank you a lot for the nice words and i am glad the videos are both entertaining and useful to you. On my nationality i am going to tell you i am from, and currently live in Europe. But I am from none of the countries you have listed. There are hints in the videos, some color patterns that might be repeated more often than others. Hopefully they can lead you in the right direction.

you are not the first one saying my accent seems scandinavian. No idea how it got to that point. But i get Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish a lot. Glad you enjoy it though.
a thing i would like you to do is to say the position... like the horseman in terms of armor is in 6th place... but 6th in 100 or in 10? Also i think the falxman should have an upgrade where he keeps the falx
6th out of 9 for cavalry. But this video, even if the information is up to date is old from my videos standards and formats. The new ones are much better and cleaner. This one was unfortunately not.
Just give them another stack of harpoons or 2 stacks of Broad Blade Javelins,as the Broad Blade are mode Battanian culture while Harpoons more of Sturgia,Sea Raider one. Goddamn TW,why are they so conservative about it?
@@LyonExodus indeed crazy, as in vanilla it's pretty much a waste of time to upgrade anything that is not an archer. The armors are made of paper and make the armor number comparations pretty much worthless as any armor will get one shoot most of the time anyways.
