@@JamesSmith-pc6bh I was about to tell that person, it you think those speeds on a public highway are "insane", don't go to Germany, or Europe in general for that matter. I've been over there several times, most recently in 2016 when we covered about 3500 miles in a month doing a big circle around Europe by car through ten countries including Germany. Our six speed stick rental car would hold 135 mph on flat terrain without a problem, which surprised me since it was an "economy" car, but it was a model sold only in Europe. Cruising at 135 put us right about in the middle of the speed range on the rural stretches of the 'bahn. Some vehicles were slower than us but quite a few were faster. Even at 135 you'd better watch your mirrors while in the passing lane, something could run up on you pretty quickly. You get used to doing those speeds in a hurry. When you have to slow down to 75 mph or whatever in a restricted zone it feels like you're just crawling along.
It depends. I´m german and some bigger cities have ring roads with speed limits of 80-100kph. You´d not expect someone going past you at 200 or more. Same with the US, you simply don´t expect it. When driving on the Autobahn you kinda expect stuff like this and for that matter are extra cautious. But lane etiquette (is this the right term?) is far better over here and to get a driving license you have to do 20 or so hours with a driving instructor, where Autobahn drives are mandatory.
I got away in a 5speed cavalier from the 90s. Making 110 hp. I parked inside of where mc donalds had their dumpster and closed the door. Went in ate a hamburger like it didnt even happen😁
I was watching NACAR pickup racing a few years ago on TV and remember one driver did a qualifying lap at 144 mph and he placed number 37 in the starting lineup. This is some amazing driving on highway with curves - very impressive driving ASP!
The young man in the Dodge Challenger was pretty impressive too. He managed those same curves at a higher rate of speed. I'll have to give him credit too although he got caught.

An ASP trooper used a PIT maneuver to flip a pregnant woman on an overpass because she didn't pull over immediately on the bridge and instead put on her turn signal indicating her intention to pull over as soon as it was safe for the officer as she attempted to finish crossing the bridge at 45 MPH.

Driving at that insane amount of speed on public roads especially with much traffic needs to be addressed in the laws and courts with severe penalties. The fact that someone like that driver is willing to put people’s lives in danger speaks volumes as to their concern for others.

I can't remember where I saw it, and it was probably 10-15 years ago. But at a Sunday morning, 7amish, on I-20, coming from out past Covington/Conyers, this 18year old on a Suzuki GSZR-1000, LITERALLY...went over 70-80miles up I-20, then hit 285 bypass North, ALL the way around to I-75 North towards Chattanooga, got off at the Hwy 440 at Cartersville, and ran into the side of a Large SUV, as he was about to turn left. There was a time, while on 285 noth (Thats the Bypass around ATL, for those that dont know). That dude went 75 to 80miles, in 25 mins. On 285, he started leaving the Helicopter behind, so it literally had to move closer to the city, snd use its long range systems. He was above 165mph. SEVERAL times during this chase. It was unreal..

He said you could have outrun me with this. I said but you have a radio to call ahead. He said “that’s true! You can go now with a warning. Just slow down!”
I was just thinking that someone needs a nice recently paved/well maintained road like this to safely do 150mph like that cop was! If they tried that on the highway near me they’d probably hit a massive pothole, lose a wheel and crash lol. Props to the highway maintenance in this area!
American roads are not designed for these speeds. For those that don’t understand, European roads are meticulously maintained and angled to to make higher speeds safer to drive. Luckily, these roads look fairly good. Appreciate our police and what they do. Imagine the ‘womph!’ you feel as a car passes you at 150 mph.
The last thing ASP needs is faster cars lol. Also, Scat Packs aren’t designed for police use. They wouldn’t survive all the idling and the suspension/tires wouldn’t survive the abuse.

I was once, many years ago, driving down a 2 lane, 60kph residential road, my friend was about a further 80 metres up the road ahead of me in his car. We were in the right lane (like Americans being in their left) which was normal for this road as there was periodic parked cars in the left lane. A police car came flying up the road behind me (straight road, good visibility) lights and siren going, so when the cop was at least 200 metres back I indicated, pulled into the left lane and got out of his way, he went past doing, maybe 100-100 kph. I watched in cringe anticipation as the cop came flying up to my oblivious friend, when the cop was maybe 30 metres behind and my friend still had no idea and hadn't moved over, the cop moved into the inside lane, still at speed, just as the cop was committed, my mate hit the anchors and swerved into the inside lane right in front of the cop, who promptly served hard back the other way, had a little tank slapper, corrected, hit the brakes to give my make a quick WTF? then took off. I just have no idea how he didn't hear them, he was in an old 1970's Mercedes, such bad cabin insulation you could hear everything happening outside that car. I was in A Renault Clio Cup that was quite loud inside, but I heard/saw the cop from several hundred metres back... sounds exactly like what you encountered!

For all of you who commented on the guy's possibility of being able to skate on the charges because the state troopers didn't have a plate number to verify that the Challenger they pulled over was the same one they'd been chasing? Well all the ASP had to do was to take the Challenger to a Dodge dealership & download the data from the black box that ALL cars manufactured after 2005 now carry. They store up to 6 month's of driving information that the dealerships normally use when doing any warranty or collision work on the whole drivetrain. It will also let the techs know if the airbags have been deployed along with a good deal of other information.. LEA's also use that black box for analysis in accident cases. And no, disconnecting the battery won't clear the information like you can do with the OBD II diagnostic computer. If you do try to disconnect it, it will tell the techs, the corporation and/or the cops, (depending on the information being sought or analyzed), plus it disables all of the other onboard computers, rendering the car totally unable to start until a specific code is input in a VERY specific sequence involving a number of steps before it will allow the car to run again. So It'll hang you out to dry right then & there.
They should seize their cars for forfeiture like they were doing in New York go double the speed limit you lose your car with no chance of getting it back.
@@xroda_ At those speeds, the sound comes moments after you see the vehicle fly by. I've only witnessed that once in my life northbound heading into Wyoming. The State Trooper, I'm assuming, was driving a seized Lamborghini Diablo. There was a light bar on top that I only saw flashing for a split second. I eventually caught up to him pulled over, blocking the fast lane of traffic and both doors were flipped up. Didn't have cellphones back then so no picture. I wish I had a camera because that thing looked badass in State Trooper brown paint!
I'm not a math genius, but...if my car tops out at 145ish. And the can I'm chasing goes close to 180ish, there is no scenario where I close that gap. At this point, they are chasing a ghost. They got lucky
Nobody stays at 180 for long, especially at night and when they can get stuck behind trucks that are moving 110 mph slower. There is also that post-adrenaline clarity, as in "holy s***, I almost killed myself back there" that hits once you lose sight of the lights and convinces you to slow it down to a reasonable speed (giving the police a chance to catch-up.
There is also fuel mileage. At 55, you get roughly 300-400 miles to a 18 gallon fuel tank. At 180 lol.. you get MAYBE 100 miles. You'll stop eventually. Had dude jumped off on an exit, went a few miles, got gas, and found another route. He'd be GONE.
Curious as to whether I can travel 34 inches off a cop's bumper while going down the interstate just as he did on that Silverado. Sure am glad the Silverado driver didn't have to fully supply the brakes for a panic stop because he thought he seen a deer or something. I'm bet he'd had gotten the ticket and not the cop for traveling too close...
This trooper was doing 130 and weaving in and out of traffic before he turned his emergency lights on. Im all for catching the bad guy but not by putting the public at unnecessary risk to do it.
9:15 Tailgating that pickup truck within 2-3 feet of its rear bumper is so safe. A regular citizen doing this at these speeds would receive very large fines, possibly arrested and have there vehicle towed. SMH
That surprised me too. How can you not see, - in the middle of the night with all the reflections - or atleast make sure that a cop is coming from behind at a hell of a speed... thats almost borderline ignorance.
Why did the trooper feel the need to tailgate the pickup truck? The answer to the question - "You thought you were going to get away?" is "I have no idea what you're talking about."

a. driving fast is something you just have to do enough to get used to how the car handles at high speeds before you get comfortable driving that fast. Cops train for it... b. dunno c. even at 170+mph it still takes 2+ hours to drive across Arkansas horizontally at it's middle and if I'm not mistaken they where traveling south the majority of the time. d. I'm sure it was a long silent ride back but surely not more than 30 mins or so away. e. the camera is mounted to the right side of the windshield giving the illusion that he's closer to things on the right than he really is. f. again police officers train for this, they are on the highways daily driving all day. their car is their office. g. he probably got bonded out later that morning and will only get a few years of probation if it's his first offence and some really hefty fines. Hope I helped as I was board and thought I would try and answer some of your questions.

Even at 135 you'd better watch your mirrors while in the passing lane, something could run up on you pretty quickly. You get used to doing those speeds in a hurry. When you have to slow down to 75 mph or whatever in a restricted zone it feels like you're just crawling along.
and should come with a lifetime license suspension and at least 5 years in prison.
sounds fun@@JamesSmith-pc6bh
If you are far enough to not see any lights then you better get your ass off the highway & not just slow back down to chill on the same road💀

Nobody stays at 180 for long, especially at night and when they can get stuck behind trucks that are moving 110 mph slower. High speeds made the Challenger stretch out to a 4 door Charger . After he slowed down it went back to a Challenger.
Who gives a f**k? He caught the POS.🤣
@StuMarston mostly stuff
@@norm2923 🤣
I like how once he gets to like 145 mph, you can hear the afterburner
The hell are you talking about 🤣 just another gear my guy
SWEET!
Why did the trooper feel the need to tailgate the pickup truck?
The answer to the question - "You thought you were going to get away?" is "I have no idea what you're talking about."
FHP does have ScatPack wide body chargers that are limited to 160 which is still plenty fast.
That's probably close to a Hellcat speed
@@johndeerefan725 I thought Hellcats were limited somewhere between 199 to 205.
Unfortunately a good attorney could get this dismissed since i didnt hear the kid admit guilt (he remained silent) and could argue in court that it wasnt him running
No chance of that IF the dash cam got enough identifying details of the car when the chase started.
Another clueless RUclips attorney
@@marioncobretti3076 Then can you educate us mr DA?
@marioncobretti3076 As someone who's won a case such as this by hiring a good attorney, I will rest my case. He remained silent as he should, so yes, if he hired a good attorney, I could see him winning this case. But I'm not going to sit here and argue with an armchair attorney
@@fcaughliwe didn't see the video from the police car that started the pursuit, hence we have no idea how the vehicle and/or driver may have been identified prior to the camera car arriving. As almost all RUclips lawyers do, OP is assuming he has all the information when in reality he has no clue what the evidence against the suspect may be. On that basis even a genuine lawyer would be unable to state they could "get this dismissed" UNTIL they are aware of what the evidence is.
You're welcome
I love how without lights or sirens on he still tailgates people less than a foot away from their bumper.
Nest time don't let up the gas till you hit water or get home.
trooper needed a turbo
I knew a guy in high school that led police through 3 counties and he was driving a Trans Am, after loosing the police he made his way home only to find the state boys sitting in his driveway, we didn't see that kid for a while.
I woulda not said anything either when he asked if I thought I was gonna get away 🤣
ASP HAS to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.....
"You thought you were going to get away?" he asked him that twice to make him incriminate himself, he can beat it in court.
YUP!
YIKES! Please be careful out there! Thank you for all you do!
fact finding for my asp thesis:
a. HOW is any mere human have the cajones to drive that fast? 85 scares me.
b. WHO was the other trooper?
c. at that clip, HOW were they not across any state border by then?
d. HOW many days did it take to return to LR, at legal speeds?
e. HOW did our trooper miss clipping that semi?
f. HOW did he engage so calmly, after that run? is he on ice water IV drip while on duty?
g. HOW many decades will that POS kid spend in the clink? HOW much $ will be levied? should be doubled.
Thanks for speeding the vid, and the notes.
STAY SAFE, LE!!! 😅
a. driving fast is something you just have to do enough to get used to how the car handles at high speeds before you get comfortable driving that fast. Cops train for it...
b. dunno
c. even at 170+mph it still takes 2+ hours to drive across Arkansas horizontally at it's middle and if I'm not mistaken they where traveling south the majority of the time.
@@adamcrux6829 thnx ;)
Driving 170mph in a performance car feel exactly like just doing 85 in a prius or corolla.. been doing that in my rs3..
everybody does 80-85 on the turnpike every night on my way home from work.
That is felony fleeing. He ain't getting probation even for a first offense on a felony. @@adamcrux6829
I WAS ALWAYS TOLD NO MATTER HOW FAST YOU ARE , YOU CANT OUTRUN MOTOROLA !
And they never use that technique anymore to stop anyone. They now prefer a brouhaha with danger to property and bystanders. Cops are probably not even smart enough to wonder why no one respects them any more.
Plenty of videos of people outrunning Motorola.
It's true, you can't outrun Motorola! However, if there's no one at the other end of the line it's not terribly difficult to do. Whether it's a helicopter, a plane, or a cruiser they need to be in the right spot at the right time for Motorola to be effective.
That’s some good driving ASP ✝️🙏🏼❤️🕊Well done ✅
Everyone that buy those cars think they're Nascar drivers but clearly without the skill
Nascar skill? 🙄
This one managed to get away until he stopped so....more skill than the cop at least.
Nascar, most boring of all motorsports
@@mach55r The trooper didn't lack skill but couldn't go above the max speed of his Charger, which is in the 150-155 mph range.
@@289Mustang67how can you say the trooper had skill to go over the speed which he couldn’t reach?
I can’t believe the cop was going that fast for that long putting everybody on the road at risk.
I can't believe you're blaming a cop when they're trying to stop a guy creeping up on 200mph.
Yea we are. When ole boy was gone he was gone. It was over. Shut it down contempt of pig is no reason to continue the level of stupidity we just witnessed
You mean the kid driving 180?
.7:43 Dropped my jaw and held my breath. What a masterful driver this trooper is!!! ❤❤❤.
A stock Scat Pack isn't going over 175; over 173 is a struggle. There are plenty of autobahn videos showing this. And 12 minutes to empty the tank at WOT? I'm surprised it took that long.
That's what I was saying, a scatpack is a brick and with only 400hp it wouldn't be able to even reach 160
As a scat pack owner, I can neither confirm or deny. 😂
He really said u thought u were gonna get away 😂 only reason they caught him is because he stopped speeding 😂
Do not mess with these Troopers. They don't give up!😁👍
Damn, he was tailgating that truck, and yet not a single ticket he will receive, injustice
Which would get any civilian plebe a ticket, let alone 125mph with no lights "because he got another call", which would probably get your car impounded

Wow driving 170 with hair in his eyes -crazy but then Duncan is more impressive to watch -great work trooper 🙌🙏‼️
One badass cop
Why on earth do they have vehicles that can travel that fast…. Every state has a limit and vehicles should not be able to travel more than the limit. No need for any car to travel 130 miles an hour so why make them capable to travel that fast…. If they make them unable to beat cops then that will stop high speed chases and safe lives..
I bet if Arkansas put in a no chase policy all of the police would quit. 😂
So, you had an idiot going 170 MPH, and the cops decide to chase him at 150-160 mph. Now, there are 2 idiots driving too fast at night on a freeway with more tired truck drivers than cars....Why not phone ahead? that hot rod can not outrun the Motorola radios... Yeah, the speeders need to be stopped, but is this the best way?
Ran my Doge Viper on the interstate cruising 180 mph at 2 a.m. Couldn't even feel the road it was so smooth. I never did that again.
😂
Thank God the Challenger survived this one.
It's up to the Trooper to prove this was the same challenger that was running from him. I highly doubt the Trooper knows for sure this was the same car as the one who was running away.
If he has the same car and same tag on his previous encounter that is all he needs. You are quite dense to think the Trooper did not recognize the vehicle and performed everything correctly.
Which is why the trooper asked the guy if he thought he was going to get away. Once the guy finally said "yeah", cased closed. He had the right guy. The guy basically confessed.
