Great sweetpeas and onions! Love the new raised beds! Nothing wrong with having raised beds. I think the plants really like them and you make a good point about being safer for the hedgehogs. The round beds will look so cute with a sweepea teepee! I will have to look for those babinton leeks, they sound great! So sad for everyone that lost their tunnel and greenhouse but I am glad yours stood strong, hope your greenhouse did too. The new raised beds really look fab! 😄👍💕💕🌸

That storm really did some damage didn't it. So glad yours is still standing. I lost my polycarbonate greenhouse a couple of years ago in a storm and it really got me down. But you do have to just keep going. Love the new camera, how awesome is that.

the storms really smashed up my garden i bought most of the stuff to have a go at growing ,and i had ivy growing it was huge and it was 6 ft deep and its come down all over where i was going to put my containers . omg theres so much of it, part of the garden i cant even get to because of it and neither can the dog he has his own bit so hes not happy . just need a few fine dry days and hope my grandsons can help chop it up but depends when theyre not at work, so im feeling a bit deflated lol i heard some more winds are coming in about a week so here we go again .

Oh I know it's either constant rain or intense heat these days Joyce! Haha! It's a gas camping heater! It packs out some heat too. The same gas bottles I use in my little camping stove. Lovely for the shed too! (If I'm only stopping for half an hour, there's no point putting the log burner on)

They are great! I got mine from that auction site 'E...." mine are growing indoors for a bit. Then out into the tunnel. Then I'll plant out mid Feb. Let me know how you get on. They get bigger and bigger over the years.
Hey Danny, just a little tip when putting your your raised beds together. Get spring clamps to hold your sections together so that when you are putting the screws in the holes the holes are already aligned. Your plot is looking fabulous but it is a shame that the storm did so much damage to your friends' structures. Take care and I so enjoy watching!

Happens often sadly. Poor things. I'd be silly to introduce them then leave risks. So I'm being conscious. Like when I built the pond I made a very shallow beach to walk out if they fall in.

Great video Danny! It's a shame they can't make poly tunnels with stronger poles. I'm looking to replace the horizontal pipes on the tomato trellis frame work we built as they just weren't strong enough to hold all of the tomatoes. Good job with the handle. Trigger will be proud! lol I like the new camera and it looked like you were in a car carrying those birdie beds hehe. Does the hood on your coat not fit you? My hubby doesn't like wearing one and gets drenched in the rain.

I really want one of those umbrella hats just for funsies! lol This is why i probably shouldn't make irl videos! haha I was at my Dad's today helping him clear his garden of leaves. He has a 300 + year old oak tree that dominates his garden. He can't lift/carry this leaf blower anymore so we volunteered to go down there and clear his garden out. I knew it was a petrol one but seriously, this is like a backpack one! 😱 It's like Ghostbusters but with a bigger nossel! It's like that jet pack meme! lol I did't like the noise or smell but yeah, it's toddler heavy and i have a bad back. Hubby couldn't of done it with his broken finger as you have to hold and control the hose and accelerator (?). It gives you a great back massage but after a while it is too heavy so took a break between each side of the tree, which 4 people can hug. He has a lovely big garden but the tree is protected in Surrey. Hence, why it is also a 1 bed half house and there is no gas line where he is. Either last year, or the one before a huge branch came down and he was lucky no one was out there! It was at least a foot wide and spanned at least the width of the garden like a 20/30 yr old tree size. Anyway, my Dad gets out these super sized bin bags you could probably cover two big shopping trolleys with and started mowing the leaves up and dumping them in the bag. I think with what we brought with us we managed to fit 4 half filled bags in my fiesta boot. Plus some branches for stakes. There was still more acorn nuts than an asylum and sticks that we put in the green bin but at least he can mow the lawn again later with his fancy pants lawn mower. Hubby took some photos of me wearing the leaf blower and recorded it (vertically) for me to cringe at a later date when i see them! lol We drove up to the local McD's and my Dad treated us to a rare McD's and had a Chocolate milk shake! Have the Big Mac's got smaller or is it just me? They look like the Junior version they used to do? Bit of a sugar crash coming home but at least non of the traffic we had earlier in the day! It was that late leaving, i had to kids explain "nightclub music" - a disco for adults on the radio before hubby switched back to Jackie! What can i say i like Kiss and Radio 1 on in the car when i am on my own.
Hi Danny, have you ever grown the wild rocket. It's really nice, and it comes back each year, it will self seed to. I've had it for years, I prefer it to the ordinary rocket, which I find goes to seed too fast for me to use
I do. Once the plant is 6 inches tall. But if I want them tall on my teepees.. then now.. I plant densely and let them be 'leggy' rather than bushy. So they gain height. They'll soon bush out after gaining the height of the teepee.
2nd year of trying to grow marconi chillies and zero germination, this year they was sown 1st Jan and still nothing all the others are up and a good few inches tall so your definitely not on your own with this issue

I use bungee ropes on my raised beds and they keep the netting air tight around the corrugated frame.
Funnily enough I was thinking of bungees or elastic. I've not seen bungees that long. I'll check them out

Great video Danny! It's a shame they can't make poly tunnels with stronger poles. I'm looking to replace the horizontal pipes on the tomato trellis frame work we built as they just weren't strong enough to hold all of the tomatoes.

@@TheGrowUpChannel Same as hubby he buys the ones with the zips so he can remove the hoods. My one keeps falling off unless i use the velcro but then i'm like Kenny from South Park. I really want one of those umbrella hats just for funsies! lol This is why i probably shouldn't make irl videos! haha
I was at my Dad's today helping him clear his garden of leaves. He has a 300 + year old oak tree that dominates his garden. He can't lift/carry this leaf blower anymore so we volunteered to go down there and clear his garden out.
I knew it was a petrol one but seriously, this is like a backpack one! 😱 It's like Ghostbusters but with a bigger nossel! It's like that jet pack meme! lol I did't like the noise or smell but yeah, it's toddler heavy and i have a bad back. Hubby couldn't of done it with his broken finger as you have to hold and control the hose and accelerator (?). It gives you a great back massage but after a while it is too heavy so took a break between each side of the tree, which 4 people can hug.
He has a lovely big garden but the tree is protected in Surrey. Hence, why it is also a 1 bed half house and there is no gas line where he is.
Either last year, or the one before a huge branch came down and he was lucky no one was out there! It was at least a foot wide and spanned at least the width of the garden like a 20/30 yr old tree size.
Anyway, my Dad gets out these super sized bin bags you could probably cover two big shopping trolleys with and started mowing the leaves up and dumping them in the bag. I think with what we brought with us we managed to fit 4 half filled bags in my fiesta boot. Plus some branches for stakes.
There was still more acorn nuts than an asylum and sticks that we put in the green bin but at least he can mow the lawn again later with his fancy pants lawn mower.
Hubby took some photos of me wearing the leaf blower and recorded it (vertically) for me to cringe at a later date when i see them! lol
We drove up to the local McD's and my Dad treated us to a rare McD's and had a Chocolate milk shake! Have the Big Mac's got smaller or is it just me? They look like the Junior version they used to do? Bit of a sugar crash coming home but at least non of the traffic we had earlier in the day! It was that late leaving, i had to kids explain "nightclub music" - a disco for adults on the radio before hubby switched back to Jackie! What can i say i like Kiss and Radio 1 on in the car when i am on my own.

Hi Danny, have you ever grown the wild rocket. It's really nice, and it comes back each year, it will self seed to. I've had it for years, I prefer it to the ordinary rocket, which I find goes to seed too fast for me to use
I've bought the seed but never tried.. I shall give it a go! Thanks for the suggestion. It was on the maybe pile but you've swayed me..

I do. Once the plant is 6 inches tall. But if I want them tall on my teepees.. then now.. I plant densely and let them be 'leggy' rather than bushy. So they gain height. They'll soon bush out after gaining the height of the teepee.
2nd year of trying to grow marconi chillies and zero germination, this year they was sown 1st Jan and still nothing all the others are up and a good few inches tall so your definitely not on your own with this issue
Aren't they hell! I think the marconi may need more heat... I shall try again! Haha
