No wonder your garden is so healthy and lush - You (and Tuck no doubt) bring positive and happy energy to all that you do there, disaster or not. Growing great earth is important for happy plants, but equally important is bringing great energy - plants need this as do all living things. Inspiring, and something it is good to be reminded of - leave any negativity at the gateway to my garden. So thank you and Tuck for being glowing examples of this lesson.

hey i feel i can add my two cents here, dealing with a frustrating season coming off a late frost in basically the beginning of may, had a lot of plant death in the garden for the first time- im partialy to blame, chose not to cover them with thrashbags and straw, wanted to see what plants would handle it and what would not, stupid experiment but im glad it happened that way... i digress. what i want to say is that this season i have been remembering my best season for tomatoes, a season that started with some heartbreak when a severe hail event stripped my vines bare of leaves and knocked about 40% of the fruit off. what happened next amazed me the plants all bounced back faster and with more fruit setting then i knew what to do with. had a lot of vines 14-16 feet that season i remember it fondly. i hope you see your garden bounce back in a way that is just as memorable as the storm! peace!

I planted cucumbers, tomatoes , zucchini and long beans in different areas in my garden, when the storm hit here a large oak fell onto my garden, wiped out some tomatoes, cucumbers long beans and damaged my zucchini, the others I planted in different areas fared well with little damage. You are the one that gave me these ideas , I’m grateful for all of your knowledge. Thank you

I love the string and clip method. Once they reach the top of the trellis, I just let them go and flop down the other side. They do just fine. Glad to see you are bouncing back after the storm.

I feel your pain. Isaias visited us in Montreal and left a *lot* of rain. I ran out and drilled several additional holes 2 inches
from the bottom of all my containers - crazy beautiful potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers. One day of hard sun and everything is exploding with growth. I am 60 days out from first frost with a late start due over-ambitious garden restoration. But everything just wants to grow. I too am collecting data for next year and beyond. We are all only 1 or 2 or 3 generations removed from folk who knew how to grow their own food and surpluses. I think it is in our DNA. we just need to flex those muscles and then watch in awe at what transpires

Man I was so disheartened by the intro scenes of your beautiful garden being beaten up by the storms wind! Then you come in with your amazing energy and positive attitude and I immediately know you'll make the best of it. Your friends and family are so lucky to have you in their lives! I love all the gardening tips I get from you, but at the end of the day you're teaching a class on how to respond to adversity! Bravo sir!

Thank you, James. You remind me I need to bring a positive attitude into the garden, that it is felt by all my plants. I've been struggling this spring with the odd weather, several late frosts killing many of my tomatoes (too eager on my part!). But you've reminded me that everything is a learning experience if we let it be one. Thank you to you and the boss, Tuck🐈

I help run a community garden in Nebraska and I recently found your channel. I find it so inspiring how you learn from failure and success equally, and also how sweet you are with your little dog. I am a nurse by profession and sometimes the world gets a little scary, but gardening and your channel offer an escape. The chance to destress in the garden helps me cope. Thank you for doing what you do!

I've got no chipmunks or groundhogs on my balcony, but I've got fungus gnats and they ruined most of my seedlings this year. Even Neem oil didn't work, but I haven't given up. I love your positive attitude, James.
