Been watching a lot of Videos about this subject DC, this is one of the best ones out there, your breakdown has been a littlie better than others. I like how you completely covered up the head on that handtied jig (TOP SECRET) stuff right there. Thank you for making it.
My brother in law took me to my 1st lake to bass fish. It was center hill lake in Tenn. You probably know it’s a clear lake, in 1974,and he tied on a hair jig that he tied out of deer hair. And we caught the dang Nabbit out of small mouth. You reminded me of that, and I’m going to go tie some of those. Thx for sharing dat.
My grandfather made hair jigs back in the 50’s for fisherman chasing striped bass (a.k.a. Rockfish) on the Santee Cooper lakes. He used belly hair from deer my uncle shot. Had to be a deer shot towards the end of the season when that hair was the longest. Rumor has it my grandfather also wouldn’t hesitate to cut belly hair from a roadkill deer after the season went out.
Great video, 1st bait my dad taught me how to fish as a kid and it is still my go to, hair jigs have really evolved since I began throwing them in the early 90's
I don’t know how old hair jigs are but I read about President Teddy Roosevelt and he talked about hair jigs in his outdoor book and that was in the late 1800’s.
I make these jigs and there is so many ways to make em for sure and so many different materials to use. I love em. It is a fun challenge to make what others don't and catch fish. Get r dun bubba. Next time yall come to Raleighwood NC for the Falls, Jordan, Harris express gimme a shout.
I use hair jigs in my river amd the bass seem to be attracted to them pretty good. However, I use long neck ewg jig heads ( ball/swim etc) and tie my own hair amd feathers... Works out pretty good
awesome vid DC. Totally agree with you on the hook set. Don’t need to well into them like a jig because you’re not having to bust through a weed guard either. Just curious, are you also taking a loop not to get a little better action?
Ironically, I just watched the video of JW being interviewed by Zona when he won the tournament. And he asked about the hair jig. So you caught fatties, JW won a tournament….I just ordered 4 of them. The heavier ones are a little harder to find. Excellent video, thank you!!
Definitely a deal I wish you wouldn't have spoke on. It's not a secret but it isn't widely used around here because it's not sexy or a technique that is flashy. Great info though
Throw a black light on one and you’ll see why real deer hair jigs work. Science has shown that bass and other fish (Saltwater) included can see UV light reflection! And most baitfish reflect UV also.
The most honest fisherman out there. Respect this channel a lot. 🥃
Shoot I’d give anything to fish with DC, MDJ, and ol J DUB together any day!
Why you gotta do Adrian like that?
My man, love watching this guy slay em.

DC is there a reason I should avoid working the bait with the rod instead of the reel? Kinda like you would with a spoon. 🛎

Water clarity important for a hair jig?
Chicken hair love it!
What's the name brand for your "Go To" hair jigs?
The one he has tied on was a Picasso hair jig
Will using wireleader on the hair jig to catch barracuda kill the jig action?
Keep it small. No 4 or 6. wire. Spro 65 lb. power swivel. 3 to 4 inches long. Works great.
I tie my own hair gigs with a touch of a round rubber collar and it's like throwing dynamite for smallies
Good video
Do they work in florida?
Tim Horton was the first I saw throwing a hair jig in a bass masters tourney
What location you use this method the most deep, or rocky deep area???
Definitely a deal I wish you wouldn't have spoke on. It's not a secret but it isn't widely used around here because it's not sexy or a technique that is flashy. Great info though

Note to cameraman your iso has been a bit low last several vids and you need to do a white balance
Still working to get the camera dialed in with a new lens
