Ooo Garcelle took the words out of my mouth !! Forgiveness towards oneself is the hardest because we don’t realize that we have parts of ourself that we don’t recognize or have come yet to master or be truly in touch with ! And when things happen where we’re not in the best light… let’s say a situation where you fall out with a friend over something and you’re stubborn and feel like you’re right int be moment ! But then days , weeks , maybe even months go by and you regret making the decision to leave without having closure or things were said that shouldn’t have been ! And because you feel guilty of how you behaved in that instance you become hard on yourself! When I tell you God has a way of allowing your heart and mind to be open when you come to the realization and are able to have emotional intelligence and put pride aside to not only apologize to yourself but love on yourself and give yourself grace and also OWN your part and your wrongdoing ! Forgiveness to one’s self is the hardest for many people no matter the situation

Don’t forget to forgive your Mom for subjecting you to that.
My friends parents were married 50+ years. Her father was an alcoholic and had tons of outside children. Her Mom prayed every day for the Lord to deliver him. She was totally blinded by religion and love. She died of a massive heart attack and her Daddy married his long time girlfriend immediately after.
When she expressed her disdain for her Daddy, I said your Mother chose to stay and remained married to him until she passed….long after you left home. SHE LOVED HIM AS HER HUSBAND. Him being your Daddy is a whole nother relationship.

There's a lot of grievance and mental health that is compromised after being fired, and I loved that you advised employers to encourage their employees that there is still light at the end of the tunnel. Case in point, the husband who committed suicide. But unfortunately, far too many employers are selfish and uncompassionate😥🥺

Forgiveness liberates the victim. It’s a gift you give yourself”. Don’t black your blessings holding on the grief, anger, animosity, hatred. And remember others are people too. These companies sell you this evil scheme of working until you are too old to work, then cut you off just before you can collect retirement. So, what was that money put aside for? Some men will only have relationships with their children if they can get something from the children's mother. If momma ain't around then they see no need for to have to be around their child. I agree 100 with what you said here and in your reply. In my opinion, if the biological parent doesn't need to to have a relationship with their child that has done nothing wrong and is not the product of something heinous, there's no excuse for that. Period. And if the child decided NOT to have a relationship with the father as a result of finding out that the parent only wanted a relationship with the other parent, then folks need to keep they trap shut about that. Forgiving does not equate to a relationship moving forward or having any further relationship at all, as if nothing happened and there's been no repense.

It can more so than not speak to who you are as a person and how you accept accountability.

I gotta agree with Loni on the corporations. I was 28 being laid off from a company and I had a full anxiety attack at home from being out of work for just 3 months so I couldn’t imagine what a senior would go through. MC Lyte is really good on this type of show!

I’m so glad that Lyte told this truth. That was the precise situation with my ex-husband. From the moment I made the hard-thought, yet necessary decision to exit the abuse, I KNEW that I’d never return. He however decided, no she, no me. Sadly, my exit was five years past it’s “best by” expiration. Unfortunately, it took him another 10+ years to catch up. Because of ego and hurt feelings, this generally meant for our three seeds, that despite continued promises, commitments were consistently made and rarely honored. It’s a blessing that Lyte was able to forgive her father and build a genuine relationship. Praying for the same healings and blessings, someday soon for my seeds.

I love MC LYTE not because she's an icon although it helped me to recognize her as a young person growing up to be so honest with the recent information that is being disclosed to the public to know the struggles in life are so real from the top ( financially) to the ones less fortunate in the areas of Love, divorce, forgiveness and

There just needs to be a balance. The older generation needs to plan for retirement, and the younger generation needs to build their lives. So.. the older generation needs to accept change and adapt more, while the younger generation needs to courteous towards their elders and accept that they need to learn and put the work in. Both generations are needed in the workplace.. but its gotta be an even playing field for all. Easier said than done though.

Generally agree, but in a corporate setting, it's disappointing to be young person working 3 times harder and knowing twice as much with technology, but getting paid a third of what the older people are getting paid while they're cruising and set in their ways
