I've heard you say in multiple videos that you do not believe in aerating a lawn but I've not heard an explanation as to why. And does that also apply to a lawn that has clay soil? Thanks!
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert speaking of clumpy, I have been trying to grow a lawn in another location which is on the coast and has very sandy soil. I’ve been using a seed developed for coastal climates/soil profiles. It’s been challenging. Do you have customers near the sea?

if I cut to No2 on the Hayer, my lawn looks awful, it's in decent condition atm too :/ would love to go that low, but it's just yellow, maybe a case of too much off too quickly?
Well mine does here but if you have cut at 3 or 4 all year you cant then go to 2 and expect it to look good, gotta just go at what looks good this time of year unless your doing a renovation like this

Hi Dan, you mentioned it's ammonium nitrate in the video. Do you find it's better than ammonium sulfate, or just depends on time of year, availability etc?
Depends on the lawn/soil. Can work absolute wonders on heavy, poor draining waterlogged soil. I’ve found it’s not necessary as “routine maintenance” compared to thatch removal.
Great content!! Wish you did some warm season turf though!! Can you maybe boost the sound in your videos. Always finding myself having to turn the volume up coming from other RUclips videos. Thanks, keep it coming
Skurvster, I too have warm season grass, GNZ ZOYSIA, in N.C. I wish there was a way to keep it somewhat green in the winter. I do not over-seed and I usually hit it a couple of times in the fall with Southern Ag Chelated Liquid Iron. Where are you located?

Daniel, did you scarify with the blades or spring tines?
I finally stole a kitchen fork this week to deal with works casts following your last video,

Hi Dan, I noticed you used a rotary spreader. I was under the impression a drop spreader was more accurate. Please can you advise
Yeah it is but its slower too
Have you a video showing the pattern you make as you cut or scarify? You seem to go back over the line you have cut?
I say in the video why, are you a slider?
@@DanielHibbertLawnExpert What is a slider?

How many times would you scarify during the year. Is there a rule of thumb.
That lawns been done a few times but only micro ones generally two big ones a year, march and september

Hi Dan, you mentioned it's ammonium nitrate in the video. Do you find it's better than ammonium sulfate, or just depends on time of year, availability etc?
Ammonium sulphate should never be put on grass its nasty
