Specifically 3D particles and interactions with other particles, plains, 3d models... Stardust has been my go-to and I'd love to see what features Resolve has by comparison.
You rock, I purchased your master class training and absorb some each day. Your classes are opening up a whole world of opportunity for me and my editing needs. Keep up the humor in your videos.
Hi all. I'd agree, Davinci is great. However, I would like to add that no matter how great the subject matter is, it is nowhere near as useful if it is not conveyed well. That makes Casey's content different, and no offence to other creators, but better. As an, ahem, older viewer, I greatly enjoy Casey's presentation. It is not at all condescending but equally leaves nothing out. I also like the humour, it makes the episodes very 'conversational' which, for me, makes the absorption of the material easier and fun. Terrific stuff, as always. Thanks very much. All the best
You’ve been helping me out a lot lately Casey thank you. I used to edit with Adobe premier pro about 11 years ago but I didn’t have a way to keep up with it because of the price. This has really helped me a lot to learn something new and hopefully start a new career some day. It’s been really hard to find out what to do with my life but your videos have been giving me a lot of hope for my future. I just want to keep learning and improving. Thanks again
Dude much appreciated. See I'm a self taught designer. Essentially that just means I've taught myself how to design websites, vectors, edit pictures and create notion graphics from watching hundreds of youtube videos and embracing the spirit of trial and error. Some times when it comes to utilising a new software I shy away and avoid trying the software out if it seems especially difficult. Which is essentially davinci resolve in a nut shell... A bunch of different menus and controls that end up looking super intimidating until you have someone show you otherwise. That being said I've been saying I wanted to learn motion graphics like really hunker down and learn motion graphics since like March of this year (2020) I've had davinci resolve for some times. But I've never been able to really use it because my pc was garbo. So when I got my new pc back in March was when. I decided I was gonna try this motion graphics thing out. But every time I started trying I got terrified and confused.
Frankly there aren't many good videos out there to help out with fusion controls unless you really know what to search for. At first I would search things like motion graphics from davinci resolve. And would get poorly animated intro videos that don't talk about basics and only follow a specific tutorial format. Which I've never found helpful. But your videos really teach what the controls are and what they do. Which has really helped me out. It's like you're teaching people how to fish rather than just giving them the fish. Keep up the good work, and thanks a lot.
Thank you for the video, this made it simple to start using particles. Something to note is that the computer will need to have plenty of RAM to work on particles
Thank you for this!!!! I wish that there were more tutorials which would go through all the "buttons and levers" of a single node, explaining how you use them AND when you might want to use them. In general it's tough to find entry level tutorials for more advanced software. Most people making tutorials seem to assume that if you're using robust software then you're probably already well versed in mograph / vfx concepts and the generic names for tools. And that may be a fair assumption about most viewers. I know plenty of BMD users are switching over from layer-based systems. But for wee folk like me who are just getting our toes wet and skipped over the layer-based software, it's really refreshing to find a tutorial which teaches not just where to find the relevant controls but also gets into the nitty gritty of the inspector modifiers.
Thanks so much for this. Very cool. I was looking at the pEmitter before this but for the life of me couldn't see any of my particles hahah. I raided the settings to see what I could find and had to imagine what they might do. Was great for you to then show us basically each one. I'm getting ideas now and keen to see what I can do.
Thanks, Casey- excellent introduction to particles... looks like a lot of requests for more about using them. Add my name to those requests. You are a great teacher.
I watch your videos until the very last frame, you make the ends of them so interesting, I don't really know why but I love to watch them so. Great video btw, would love to see more of that.
Casey, very helpful beginner tutorial on particles. I have a few questions. 1.) at 8:50 you talk about using a picture instead of a fast noise generator. How ? 2.) is it possible to generate a particle stream using a path ? I think so, using the spline tools, no ?
Awesome! Yes yes yes, can't get enough of particles. More and a tutorial on making your own particles from 3D mesh and/or bitmap would be especially nice ^_^
Thanks for working on this Casey. You may have already covered this in another vid (sry if you have) but I think disintegration transitions and reforming from particlea would probably be a big win as far as tutorials go. Thanks again
Thanks bud! Much appreciated. Cleared up a bit. Finally got a strong enough pc to get to work on some better videos. Your vids make it a whole lot easier to edit with myself having zero editing experience. Cheers dude
For some reason I just get a chequerboard pattern on the right hand side, despite following all of the instructions to the letter? Weirdly enough, I did it again from the start and it worked perfectly! Thanks for all your hard work, I'll be using this stuff directly with my channel in the future!
Well now, at least I can look forward to spending the next two decades learning this, Houdini & blender. I'll probably be dead once I figure it out and create something substantial ;) Thanks for this tute.
Refreshing after seeing so many poor tutorials for Davinci. Less than 2 mins in and you've already given me more info than several tutorials combined. While the software may have it's merits in terms of functionality, it can be very convoluted and unfriendly to editing novices.
Hey Casey, I love your tutorials. I recently switched from Adobe CC to Davinci Resolve and your videos help me a lot to bridge the gap between the two softwares. I am very happy that I did switch because I love the UI of Davinci. It's fantastic! Btw what screen capture software do you use? That circle and the little arrows while scrolling are very neat... It makes the tutorial perfect in every detail ;)
This was great. I've started playing around with it, but not quite getting the look I want whilst using footage as the input. Using Particular with After Effects, whe a person walks across the shot the particles seem to eminate out of them, a bit like Tinkerbell. But in Fusion it seems to generate new particles each frame without leaving a trail. I've tried different settings such as 'create particles every frame', though this does make it different, it's somehow worse. This must be a 3D thing.
I'd like to see a video on how to use pImageEmitter to create something like a StarTrek transporter effect. Gotta start with a crisp, clear image and the descend int particles or the other way around or both or .... 🤪
Thank you for another great video! Is it possible to make the particles start out as blobs while desolving a logo and make them transform into leafes before they fade out and die?
Casey great tutorials as always, I've looked at a lot of the tutorials on RUclips and on Google but I can't find anything on how to form an object with particles only to dissolve an object can you do a tutorial how to form one with particles
Can you make a tutorial how to make text to shapes using fusion particles (e.g. like some shapes come in make type a text and goes out.) some thing like that so can make animated into. using fusion particle .....
Hey Cacey, it is always fun to look to your content. Not only funny but also very helpful. Thanks again, now I will start to use particles. Can you make a video with teks falling apart with particals? I definitely want to learn it from the best 😉
Woooow I can't thank you enough it was awesome The only question that I have is that can we have custom shapes as particles (import shapes) Also can we import different shapes and have them varied
Thanks for a great tutorial! I am using Studio 17.1 and my pEmitter doesn't have an IN point. I'm trying to make particles look like diamond dust and comes together to form words. But yeah, I can't input my text into the pEmitter. I also notices that I can't change the output mode from 2D. Anyone knows what's going on here?
I'd love to see another video talking about the particles in fusion, in a more advanced way
Yes to this
Specifically 3D particles and interactions with other particles, plains, 3d models... Stardust has been my go-to and I'd love to see what features Resolve has by comparison.
Agree
Well done Casey! Love the amount of content you're putting out!
You rock,
I purchased your master class training and absorb some each day.
Your classes are opening up a whole world of opportunity for me and my editing needs.
Keep up the humor in your videos.
As always, a comprehensive, straightforward breakdown of the fundamentals. Excellent work again Casey.
These are the easiest to follow and most descriptive Davinci tutorials on RUclips!!! 🙌
Wow, thank you!

Posted 3 years ago and still super helpful. Thx Casey
the particles as text is a game changer, so cool
Thank you for the video, this made it simple to start using particles. Something to note is that the computer will need to have plenty of RAM to work on particles
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! Now I'm gonna have to fiddle around with this and be obsessed about it for WEEKS
"They have a lifetime. They come and go. Like you and me! Wow...getting really existential here...."

Dear Casey, many, many thanks you really helped me out with this one. All the best. MJ
That was a great run through of Particle basics. Love the sipping at the end. LOL.
I had a good time. I'm from the 3D environment where particles are really everywhere and complex. You did a nice job of explaining the basics. Bravo.
Brilliant. Very well explained.. exciting stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it!
When the intro is 10 minutes. You know that DaVinci is great!
You are just a great teacher. Thumbs up
Thanks, Casey- excellent introduction to particles... looks like a lot of requests for more about using them. Add my name to those requests. You are a great teacher.

Yes, more videos ONLY for the most advanced stuff :) Thank you soooo much Casey !
You have awesome tutorials. I appreciate the zoom into specific icons. It really pinpoints what you need to be accessing.!!
good voice, not too serious, on point. Great Tuts
your attitude was lovely on this one , good job man
Casey, very helpful beginner tutorial on particles.
I have a few questions.
1.) at 8:50 you talk about using a picture instead of a fast noise generator. How ?
2.) is it possible to generate a particle stream using a path ? I think so, using the spline tools, no ?
Great video! Would be thankfull for video on how to create seamless abstract backgrounds with FastNoise/Particles.
Awesome! Yes yes yes, can't get enough of particles. More and a tutorial on making your own particles from 3D mesh and/or bitmap would be especially nice ^_^
🤑
Thank you for a no-nonsense explanation.
Thanks for working on this Casey. You may have already covered this in another vid (sry if you have) but I think disintegration transitions and reforming from particlea would probably be a big win as far as tutorials go. Thanks again
Thanks bud! Much appreciated. Cleared up a bit.

Glad I could help!
This is SO helpful!! Thank you so much.
Very good, simple and direct, Thanks.
I like the ratings of the video. That's rare.
Thank you, just what I needed 😃
For some reason I just get a chequerboard pattern on the right hand side, despite following all of the instructions to the letter? Weirdly enough, I did it again from the start and it worked perfectly! Thanks for all your hard work, I'll be using this stuff directly with my channel in the future!
Dear Brother , you have explained very well about the particles. Pls talk slowly beginners need more help...thanks
Super useful, thank you for this video
Magnifique démonstration ! Merci à vous !
*Great demo ! Thanks you very much !
Well now, at least I can look forward to spending the next two decades learning this, Houdini & blender. I'll probably be dead once I figure it out and create something substantial ;) Thanks for this tute.
I am intrigued by the idea of using meshes and bitmaps as particles. Also, collisions. Can they collide with objects or each other, if so. How?
Yes more particles!
Really useful and so, so interesting,
Thank You Casey
This is so cool! Had no idea davinci had this, thank you!
Good presentation as always♥
It's kind of early in the day for existential, but damn, this is great stuff!
Thanks for another awesome Davinci video. More Fusion please!
BMD should give you shares in the company...You explained their product, better than they, could have ever done.
I like the coffee slurp you added at the end. Nice touch. Good to break up the routine. :-)
Refreshing after seeing so many poor tutorials for Davinci. Less than 2 mins in and you've already given me more info than several tutorials combined. While the software may have it's merits in terms of functionality, it can be very convoluted and unfriendly to editing novices.
Raelly amazing what you can do with Fusion. I learned a lot from your video, thanks!
lovely, now i have to spend more time experimenting than actually editing lol. i suppose that's what learning is.
Hey Casey,
I love your tutorials. I recently switched from Adobe CC to Davinci Resolve and your videos help me a lot to bridge the gap between the two softwares. Thanks for doing davinci stuff. High quality videos, man.
It was super cool! Please do more of these :D
I didn't even know, this was possible :D
Your video’s are awesome and entertaining. Thank you
Yes! This is exactly what I was looking for yesterday! Thanks Casey! 😁
This was great. I've started playing around with it, but not quite getting the look I want whilst using footage as the input. Great. I would like to see how to make warp drive or plaid. Must be easy with these method.
I'd like to see a video on how to use pImageEmitter to create something like a StarTrek transporter effect. Gotta start with a crisp, clear image and the descend int particles or the other way around or both or .... 🤪
Thank you. I got more out of this than I did from the course I paid for. I guess free is better than paid :-D
i like Casey. He's fun to watch.
Excellent explanation! Love it Casey!
looking for a good tutorial on doing realistic sparks using the Fusion particle system, any suggestions?
Grate video. Thank you
would be great if we can see the actual effect somewhere in the video, thanks!
oooh, finally i understood something about mograph particles!
Yeah good video bud... I'd like to see how how over lay leaves or something.
Thank you for great tutorial! Is it possible to use instead of defined forms my own pictures or video clips?
This was great man
Excellent intro! Thank you.
Yes more on particles
Do you have a video showing how to overlay fusion particles over a photo on the edit page?
Hey Casey good job, very well explained... 😋
I want learn more about particles fusion please casey thanks
The title sounds like a physics lesson 😂
Awesome tutorial!! Could you make more advanced tutorial on particles soon
Hey Casey, great videos - Thank you. Can you do a video on particle examples please? IE real world uses?
Yes please! More particle tuts.
It must be text, not tekst. That's Dutch. Sorry 😂
I had a good time too
Good, bro!
love this
Hi Casey, Do you have a tutorial for making Bokeh bubbles?
Really useful tutorial man, thank you so much! :)
hella-cool you rock, Casey!
Could you make for us text particle as outro template , sir ?
Thank you.
Woooow I can't thank you enough it was awesome
The only question that I have is that can we have custom shapes as particles (import shapes)
Also can we import different shapes and have them varied
Thank you
ive see videos in other products using particles to show icy breath...can you show how to do this on davinci resolve please?
I had a good time.
Superb... thanks for all you do Casey :)
Wonderfully cool. Thanks.
thank you for the nice video. Is there a way to make and control color liquid flow or with particles system? Thank you!
Anyone knows what's going on here?
i run into the same problem, wonder if its the free version that doesnt allow to use it
