Teddy, I just finished your review of the Casio dive watch, and now I’m watching your review of a Patek. I haven’t found another watch expert who so effortlessly and enthusiastically inhabits and embraces those extremes. It’s a pleasure listening to you talk watches.
That is a magnificent Chronograph that is elegantly done with class, style and practicality all wrapped up in the same package. While yes I cannot afford such a time piece I thoughly enjoyed you covering it and showing it. Thanks man
I had the privledge of private tour of the Patek Philippe Museum earlier this month. I've had 3 Pateks so I was well aware of their history. But visiting their Museum was still an amazing experience. There is no finer or more beautifully finished watch.
A magnificent time piece and most worthy of any wrist, affordability be damned ! Teddy would it be possible to address the Platinum vs. Gold price disparity in the metals market and how that disparity refuses to be acknowledged in the horology arena? As always appreciate both the time and quality of your presentations 🥂
I really love Patek Philippe choices in the watch world. a very advanced and beautiful watch brand. very reliable. very well done. the prices say it all. I would definitely be leaning toward buying a Patek instead of a Rolex when I reach adult-hood. Simply because of their availability and obviously, their beautiful nature. Loving watches when your young is an expensive hobby. amazing video teddy. keep up the reliable content.
Man, this Patek Philippe chronograph is absolutely stunning. It's not only an aesthetic but also an engineering masterpiece. If I ever find that rich long lost relative and inherent a barrow load of money, I reckon I'd probably buy one..👍😍
I love classic watchmaking, but for this money it’s not ok. The movement should fit the case, beats/h is pre war, and again from the front it looks like they cut corners on the case/beze/movement layout due to the registers and short hands. I also miss crispyness and depth in the dial. That all said I would love to own that watch’, but if I could afford it I buy an other PP.
Teddy, I always enjoy your ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes when making your videos. I fell in Love with watches with my first watch… a Mickey Mouse watch. I don’t wear most of my fine watches anymore because of my diminishing near vision and night vision. I lean towards watches with large markers or great lume/tritium markers.. I wake up at zero dark 30 and have to pee and can’t see what time it is on my Daytona… Do I make coffee? Do I hop back in bed? Do I turn on the lights and screw up my sleep? I Bought a Ball caring marvelite this week then cancelled when I saw I was enriching communists. I still love collecting and have a lot more money than most. Can you make a video for collectors over 55? I know Kevin might have some valuable input. Thanks, Kris
@teddy, could you do a review of west end watch co? I was interested in getting one, but could not find any reviews on it. It seems to be big in the Middle East and Asian markets.
Great review. 5070P and 5170P both iconic and represent different generations of watchmaking. Both references 5070 and 5170 nicer looking than the current 5172 IMHO.
Hard to tell on video but this looks like it may have been refinished. The steps on the bezel and lugs don’t look as sharp as the ones I have handled. Again, hard to tell on video though.
@@stephen9609 I didn't say it's bad but given the choice, I would prefer a caliber that fits the size of the watch. I don't think that is a minority opinion. The Lemania 2310 ebauche is iconic and has been used across the industry by some of the most famous watchmakers (for good reason). It is a handsome and tactile lateral clutch and column wheel chronograph movement and patek finished them beautifully. I wasn't being sarcastic, I love the way they did it, it's obvious if you know much about watches, otherwise it's something people don't notice. Personally I prefer this to the in house caliber mainly due to exclusivity, now patek is limited by themselves rather than Lemania which means they can make more watches. Just like Rolex can make more Daytonas now than they could when using Zenith movements.
30 m water resistance, 18800 bpm, 60 h power reserve - what do you pay 250.000 $ for? 🤔 Is it the name ONLY? Even Rolex are way overpriced - is this better than a Rolex? I believe anyone who can afford this watch should get some "cheaper" luxury watch - and give 240.000 $ to charity.
Love the brand, love the history behind Patek Philippe, love how hard they are to get, however, find it super disappointing that all these rappers are getting themselves these type of watches - ruining the name of the brand!!!
Overpriced for what it is a Patek same.game as rolex try the ALS chronograph that's alot classier and understated and certified by Philippe Dufour himself.
Sorry Teddy, I don't watch videos about watches that are made for kings,... The elitism of these high horology brands is unbearable,... People who buy these pieces, travel in private planes, drive million dollar vehicles, and usually don't even pay taxes,... We pay for them,... I gave it a thumb down,...
@@richardbartlett6932 I did! These watches don't need reviews. People who watch the reviews can't afford them, and the people who can actually afford them, simply don't watch reviews. These reviews are a waste of time. I agree that it is good to appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of these pieces, and for that just go to their web sites. But the reviews are pointless. Also, this is not Teddy's field. Cheers!

Check out Corniche watch brand, they have a similar style watch with a mecaquartz movement and nice finish with some cool colors for under 500$.
