The BB36 is an amazing all a rounder, really dresses up but you can also jump in the pool with it or jump on the motorcycle. The rest are just really fun.
I have to agree with the BB36, one of the best go anywhere do anything watches for the price. The PRX either quartz or PM80 automatic is another great watch.
I would personally just save a bit longer to get to the 10-12k range, but that's only because I have other watches and can wait. If you're dying to get that first watch/ watches, I would recommend Tudor (Pelagos) for the dive gang and Cartier (take your pick) for the classy look. Those are in the $4k range and are amazing for the attainable price. Great video as always Teddy!
No matter what price range is mentioned, someone will always say to save a little longer for more. If you make a 10-12k list a comment will say "save for 15-17k." Realistically 8k is stretching a lot peoples budget and will likely take a long time to stretch it to 10. Those that can just drop 8k on watches likely don't need to save.
Hi Teddy. Great video and opinions as always! I really love your channel, especially when you team up with Kevin O’Leary! Those are great!! I identify with the check all the boxes type collector. I’d like to add an automatic chronograph to my collection, preferably under $5k. I like the AquaStar DeepStar because it’s not a “kitchen table” brand name like Rolex, but has an interesting history and looks like a high quality watch. I’m not hating on Rolex, I love my OP41. What other brands should I look at to compare to the AquaStar? I like the Sinn EZM you profiled but not having the crown and pushers on the left. That’s just weird!
It’s amazing how much the SPB143 has changed since it came out in 2020. I got one of the first ones in the USA in mid July 2020 and mine has fatter hands, and no lume marker next to the date wheel. I like the original a lot more, the skinny hands don’t really seem to fit the watch.
I think you should add 1 more persona to your already expansive list but one I think that may have some resonance in the community....A one Brand only persona. (Although I suppose you showcase only new models and this category might need a historical piece to really be compelling for this type of buyer). Keep up the great work.
@@TheVuducha The only problem is that I want something that garners a little more respect. I want one or 2 super nice watches and then one that’s good enough even if it’s just a Hamilton or a high end Seiko.
Tricky price point for a 3 watch so I’ll do the perfect duo: Diver/everyday - IMO a diver can be everyday when it’s a nicer diver. Omega Seamaster pick whatever color you want. Dress - Longines Sector dial In reality all needs are met here.
I’ve really been developing an appreciation of, and interest in, Baume and Mercier lately. Very classy, cool brand. That Ti Formex is really cool, great-looking in that olive dial. Nice to see someone giving Hamilton a run for their money (wearing a Khaki automatic as I type this *lol*).
Isn't Everyday and Beater the same, or have I misunderstood something for years? Also a one watch collection for about $8.000, I would also suggest the Moonwatch Professional.
Everyday is a watch you could literally wear everyday: it is suitable for (pretty much) all occasions. Think Rolex Explorer for example. A beater is something you don’t mind getting beaten up/bashed around. A cheap(er) diver or like a G-Shock. Ps. One watch is not a collection! 😉
Amazing video again! I have a video request that is similar to others you made. Do you think you could do a video of watch collection where you have 3 under 250,500,1000,2500,5000, 10000 and 25000? But instead of the 3 watches equalling that price, they all just individually have to be under each amount. I know it would be a long video but I'd love a video like that!
Look for the video he did with his girlfriend Courtney. They looked at multiple price ranges and let her give her instant first look impressions. It was fun and informative at the same time. 😂 👏🏽
Nice to see Baume and Mercier featured. They make beautiful watches, but seem to get no respect these days. The Clifton Baumatic Moonphase is a gorgeous watch with notes of Rolex Cellini
@@okihaveaname I’ve got quite a few different styles but find myself putting on the longines hydroconquest the most these days, just personal preference
My 3 watch collection at 8k would be Sinn 556 (daily and most versatile new 1200-1500) Tudor pelagos blue dial (durable and ideal for vacation wear and daily summer wear 2800-3400 used) Cartier santos (integrated style that can be worn with a suit but also has sporty style. used early 2000s model between 3-4k) If I got a good deal on these and had room left over I’d snag something I could trash and not feel bad. Casioak most likely
I'm looking at my modest watch collection here, doing the math and i think these all add up to pretty much $8000 USD. I've got 2 G Shocks, the G-Shock Full Metal Square GMWB5000GD-1 in black DLC and G-Shock MTG-B1000 DCM-1A Twisted Metal Camo. I have the Seiko Presage Sharp Edged SPB227J1 with Red Dial. I also have the Oris Roberto Clemente as well as the Caliber 400 Green Dial version. Pretty sure that all adds up to about that 8K mark but, i'm not 100% what the exchange rate is right now. Not sure which category i would fall into though. I'm a Construction worker and don't own a sports jacket, let alone a suit so a dress watch was never high on my priority list even though i'd love to own many many MANY watches. I have a bunch of strap options too, from rubber to croc leather to ostrich suede so, throwing that all into the mix makes this all fantastically versatile for my tastes. I'd say I fall into my own category of Fun Fashionable Form and Function. Cheers
@@eyeheartsushi2212 It's my favorite watch. Fits so amazingly on my 7" wrist. Modern and fun. 5 day power reserve when you have 5 watches is great too. I love it on both the rubber and bracelet too.
My best 3 watch collection i have is: GS sbgm221, breitling A49350, Omega speedmaster profesional sandwich with 3861. So theres elegant cream dial, diver with avianation feeling blue dial and of course chronograph with iconic black dial ⭐️♥️🌑
My two dive watches in the collection are the Black Bay Heritage 41mm and the Omega Seamaster 300m. Got the BB like new for 3k with box and papers on bracelet and the SMP brand new on rubber for 4.2k. That left me enough room to pick up 4 other rubber straps for that SMP, a rubber strap for the BB as well as some chevron straps.
For me, I would probably do a Nomos Orion 38 white for the dress watch, a Tudor Black Bay GMT for the complication and a Seiko SPB143 for the everyday/diver. Works out to $7935.
I’d like to say im a check off the boxes collector, but if I played with my straps a lot more I could see myself dropping down to 3 🤔. Nice look on the Riveria as well, it’s slept on! We need some vids on the best bronze watches and how to care for them!
I mean under 9 grand for a jager I think is amazing I mean it isn't the nicest Jager but you get a Jager for under 10k. Awesome one day im still getting seikos I cant afford a tag or omega I struggled to gwt a tissot gentleman. I wqnt the tissot prx chrono but almost 2 grand seems alot. Maybe after market theyll have a big discount
Pleasantly surprised about the mentions of the JLC Polaris, the Baume & Mercier Riviera, the Omega Constellation (nee Manhattan), and the Raymond Weil. This brings more variety to the table instead of the usual suspects.
Teddy I need some advice. I want to buy a second watch. I got a tag heaur that is waterproof. I would like to talk to you about another waterproof similar watch in the 800 to 1200 dollar range brand is not critical
The Zenith isn't giving you much for your money - whereas the JLC Polaris has an actually useful complication in the rotating rehaut. Looks good enough to pair with a suit, but put it on a leather strap and it's sporty enough to look at home when you're just chilling outdoors. Plus, it's a JLC, with the associated style points.🙂 (Water resistance is 10 bar, good enough for the occasional dunking.) It's what I'd go for if I wanted a single, do-it-all watch for $8k. I'm in the "3-watch" category, and $8k is about what I want to put into them. Grand Seiko quartz, at the end of the video, did the trick for me, although I spent extra to get one of their more beautiful dials ("sea of clouds" in my case.) That leaves room for a Hamilton Khaki field watch, and I'm looking at a dive watch to round out the threesome. Nodus has a beauty in the Avalon II (bronze/green), and I'll get to check it out in person when they come to NYC next month. If I snag that, there's room for a fourth watch. Something a bit "out there" - a party watch - would round things out nicely. Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein, anybody?
The best $8000 GADA watch is a Rolex Datejust, and they are available at Rolex ADs for retail. I bought 2 last year from the same AD with no prior Rolex purchase history. Waited 3 weeks for the first one, two months for the second.
@@eyeheartsushi2212 I bought a 126300 for myself, then another for my best friend (he paid me for it but the dealer would not let him buy it as he had no purchase history - go figure!)
@@M1szS Definitely is lol. If you're doing professional diving, pretty uncommon for anyone to even wear a watch since a diving computer is a much better device for the application. Some people *might* use one as a backup. The only reason you think it isn't enough is marketing honestly. 😃

Teddy...you see this reply that looks like it came from you??
I think you should add 1 more persona to your already expansive list but one I think that may have some resonance in the community....A one Brand only persona. (Although I suppose you showcase only new models and this category might need a historical piece to really be compelling for this type of buyer). Keep up the great work.
Buy any $7000 watch and a nomos. Speed master Nomos, GS titanium and Nomos, IWC and Nomos. So basically quality over quantity.
Great suggestion
Nomos lug-to-lug and power reserve is underwhelming. Not the ideal dress watch.
@@okihaveaname then muhle 👍🏼
Best advice here. Better yet, get a $7500 watch and a daily beater, like a Certina or smthn
@@TheVuducha The only problem is that I want something that garners a little more respect. I want one or 2 super nice watches and then one that’s good enough even if it’s just a Hamilton or a high end Seiko.
I'm trying to get the 36mm DateJust.... black dial... that to me is the perfect do it all watch for life. No need for more, but each to their own

Good morning ? What a coincidence i just got on RUclips and you literally just posted this video right now...
Love these videos, my favorite series!!!
I've a speedmaster sapphire sandwich but would love a rectangular dress watch, love the Oris
I really dig that Formex. I’d love to see one in person
Love these collection videos. Keep up the good work Teddy
Nice video mate 🇺🇸. I am way above this. But you are spot on for level.
Oh you’re way above this? Thank you so much for pointing that out!
Tricky price point for a 3 watch so I’ll do the perfect duo:
Diver/everyday - IMO a diver can be everyday when it’s a nicer diver. Omega Seamaster pick whatever color you want.
Dress - Longines Sector dial
In reality all needs are met here.
Good combo
I’ve really been developing an appreciation of, and interest in, Baume and Mercier lately. Very classy, cool brand. That Ti Formex is really cool, great-looking in that olive dial. Nice to see someone giving Hamilton a run for their money (wearing a Khaki automatic as I type this *lol*).
For the price point, Hamilton all day long. Be proud of that classic. The other may be nice but not worth a grand.
@@okihaveaname is it the girlfriend reacts one?
@@michaelschneider530 that's the one 👌🏾
Another great video teddy🙌🏻 I would say I’m a set collator meaning I find a watch I like and get all dial colors they Ofer 😭

Nice to see Baume and Mercier featured. They make beautiful watches, but seem to get no respect these days. The Clifton Baumatic Moonphase is a gorgeous watch with notes of Rolex Cellini

A good diver is always the way to go, can go anywhere
But girls hate divers. And guys rarely go swimming. So while cool looking, its under-used as intended. And definitely not worth 8k for 1 diver piece.
@@okihaveaname I’ve got quite a few different styles but find myself putting on the longines hydroconquest the most these days, just personal preference
My 3 watch collection at 8k would be
Sinn 556 (daily and most versatile new 1200-1500)
Tudor pelagos blue dial (durable and ideal for vacation wear and daily summer wear 2800-3400 used)
Cartier santos (integrated style that can be worn with a suit but also has sporty style. used early 2000s model between 3-4k)
If I got a good deal on these and had room left over I’d snag something I could trash and not feel bad. Casioak most likely
A really excellent video and I cannot think of another review that actually spans Zenith/JLC to Citizen.
Love your videos. Great info and also add the IWC "10 Table Watch" 55 mm. Can see the time from 10 restaurant tables away.

Cheers
I’ve had my eye on the Roberto Clemente. Looks like a fun watch.
How do you like that Caliber 400, btw?

@@eyeheartsushi2212 It's my favorite watch. Fits so amazingly on my 7" wrist. Modern and fun. 5 day power reserve when you have 5 watches is great too. I love it on both the rubber and bracelet too.
That Aquastar is stunning and unique

Have you heard of xeric watches for the hipster peeps? They are really unique
My best 3 watch collection i have is: GS sbgm221, breitling A49350, Omega speedmaster profesional sandwich with 3861.
So theres elegant cream dial, diver with avianation feeling blue dial and of course chronograph with iconic black dial
⭐️♥️🌑
My two dive watches in the collection are the Black Bay Heritage 41mm and the Omega Seamaster 300m. Got the BB like new for 3k with box and papers on bracelet and the SMP brand new on rubber for 4.2k. That left me enough room to pick up 4 other rubber straps for that SMP, a rubber strap for the BB as well as some chevron straps.

For me, I would probably do a Nomos Orion 38 white for the dress watch, a Tudor Black Bay GMT for the complication and a Seiko SPB143 for the everyday/diver. Works out to $7935.

Teddy, I appreciate the huge amount of work you put into your videos. I expected the Doxa 200 for the $900 dive watch. But I loved the Doxa 600 blue.
I’d like to say im a check off the boxes collector, but if I played with my straps a lot more I could see myself dropping down to 3 🤔. Nice look on the Riveria as well, it’s slept on! We need some vids on the best bronze watches and how to care for them!

Maybe after market theyll have a big discount
Thank you Teddy ....very well presented .....!!!!
Frederique constant is a great alternative to raymond Weil. Their in house movements especially the monolithic is a beast!
Teddy, don’t overlook Alpina!! Love that brand… fully Swiss… fully quality
Pleasantly surprised about the mentions of the JLC Polaris, the Baume & Mercier Riviera, the Omega Constellation (nee Manhattan), and the Raymond Weil. This brings more variety to the table instead of the usual suspects.

That’s good to know (about not having to wait that long). Which references did you get and why two?
@@eyeheartsushi2212 I bought a 126300 for myself, then another for my best friend (he paid me for it but the dealer would not let him buy it as he had no purchase history - go figure!)
@@dannyg6592 You’re a good friend. Weird that you could get one with no purchase history but your friend couldn’t.
@@eyeheartsushi2212 Thank you. And yes, Rolex ADs like to play games. Silly behavior. Funny thing is the same AD sold his wife an OP last month!
@@dannyg6592 LOL but then again if it was a “ladies’ OP” they were probably too happy to sell her one.
Small mention: SuperOcean Heritage ‘57 is “only” 100m wr which is plenty for diving even and it’s wonderfully thin.
no bro 100m isnt plenty for diving
@@M1szS Definitely is lol. I don't think you know how deep 100m is. 130ft (roughly 40m) is the limit for recreational diving which is still *very* deep. 100m watches are tested to at least 125m so 3x that. If you're doing professional diving, pretty uncommon for anyone to even wear a watch since a diving computer is a much better device for the application. Some people *might* use one as a backup.
The only reason you think it isn't enough is marketing honestly. 😃
@@jolness1 ok i want to see u dive with 30m Water resistant watch, go ahead
@@M1szS I must have missed where I said 30m is a dive watch. 😅
Again, you have been deceived by marketing .
@@jolness1 bro wtf ur talking about, whos decieved by marketing, Ur saying that u can go 125m deep with it, while its just static pressure, in reality u can barelly dive with it

Finally found my one watch. It ended up being an IWC mark xv, but at some point I’ll probably still need a dress watch with a white face. I think I’ll end up being persona 7 when it’s all said and done hopefully I don’t need more than 3 watches
The Doxa 600T Pacific is a limited edition that's sold out. Dunno if it makes sense to add that to a "starter collection"
Some beautiful pieces. I have a mid-size omega seamster I recently bought a Seiko alpinist with glacial blue face - no idea what's next for a 3 watch collection but I'm thinking something dress style.

I think I fall in the three watch. All one maker thought. Longines, spirit zulu time on a strap, ultra chron on a braclet, and a quartz dolce Vita on a bracelet.
I am new to watch collecting. I love your content. very informative. one thing I have noticed is that I don't see you talk about Tag Heuer. are they not good watches? a friend had one and said that it was in the shop more than it was on his arm. thank you for making this content
Your friend’s feedback is all you need in this case.
I’m quite surprised that you didn’t pick santos for any profile? I’ve been obsessed with it past 5 months, watched every video there is for it. Totally convinced that’s it’s the ultimate value for money One watch collection. I’m scheduled to purchase the Large on 3rd and now this video is putting doubt in my head as in why did u not choose that over others? It’s under 8k, it’s the first wrist watch ever - so can’t beat that history, it’s from Cartier so luxury in its dna, first pilots watch ever, good legibility, in house movement, versatile beyond belief, goes with shorts and T and with suits, comes with free leather strap to make it more dressy for those tuxedo type evenings. I can go on, but why oh why did u skip it? Should I not be buying it? :s
there are unexpectedly good black-green watches in the citizen Promaster collection
most watches are over 41 mm case size.... do a video like these for small wrist sizes... wrist sizes below 16.25 cm

Navitimer, ML Aikon, Sinn 556I RS
Can you explain what modifications a watch company makes to a 3rd party movement when they use them in their watches ; but call it a different name ? Example, Oris using Sellita movements ,but calling it an Oris caliber etc.
A really nice range of options that focuses on a relatively limited range of brands which is a shame but that’s life.
