  • This camping weekend didn't turn out exactly how we though it would! With a scary morning in camp and a rolled over truck along with so many mosquito's we couldn't celebrate the holiday camping trip outside like we wanted too. Our Camping BBQ had to be brought inside and the carrot dogs had to be cooked on the stove top, but all in all we enjoyed our 3 day holiday weekend!

They still seemed sketchy to me. The truck could have been stolen and yours was next if you hadn't seen them. Glad you are safe. Get some of of those hanging fly sticky things. Might help catch some & not scare Punkin. Dollar stores have them. Happy Birthday!

🥳HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TERI. We got the edge of straight line winds and rain with a lot of limbs down. But went into Houston and did a lot of damage down there. A couple days later got some more strong winds, rain, lightening and thunder with more limbs down. My yard keeps getting flooded and it's going to be awhile for it to dry out plus everything is overgrown and a total mess. Did go a couple weeks ago for my 6 month CT scan and so far the cancer is staying away. But now I have lymphedema in my legs and have gone for treatment for that. Great times will be had by all. I turned 75 on the 12th of May and not happy about the health problem party. I too have been glued to watching Ryan Hall y'all plus Texas Storm Chasers. At the rate things are going this year a percentage of the US is going to have to be rebuilt because many towns have been wiped out. So much destruction of history as well. Mosquitoes are about to drive me nuts as outside and inside as well. I'm tired of bug spray. I put out apple sider vinegar for the natty bugs. Please do stay safe out there as it's crazy out there these days. I'm glad most of my doctors are in the Woodlands. I do care about y'all and hope next year you get to come this way. I think Scotty would like Corpus Christi as big ships as well as boats of all kinds. Love y'all Hugs to Punkin.

Have you checked your pantry? When I was younger living with my parents, we had an outbreak of moths in our house. It was caused by something hatching in the pantry. Either flour or something like that. Once we got rid of everything in the pantry, they went away. 🤷🏻‍♀️

We had a pack rat that got into our truck and had babies and got into the air conditioning system. One died in the system and oh the smell was horrific. Fortunately our insurance paid to have the system repaired. When the truck was in the shop the stench was so bad all the employees walked out.
How did we keep the truck from getting eaten again, we added a mouse trap with peanut butter and almost everyday we trapped another mouse or pack rat.

If you have food moths, you need to get rid of them right away. Google is helpful for ways to be rid of them. Spraying peppermint is one thing you can do, but you may need to get rid of most of your food and spices. They are tenacious!!! I had them in my house and ended up having to paint the cupboards after tossing everything. They came in via a bag of wheatgerm.

The face is screen with another screen inside. They use a battery and you hold the button and
sweep them into the rack and it will SNAP when y ou zap them. Works pretty good, about 10 bucks I think.

Hey guys! Everything looks good! We tear our paper napkins and paper towels all the time too!
I'm actually trying to get away from using paper as much as possible. I'm going to finally start using cloth napkins soon. I'm also thinking of using un paper towels and we have been using cloth to blow our noses for quite a while.
I also use cloth for something else but I can talk to you about that in person or something if you are interested in knowing about that.

I give my two dogs carrots as treats. They absolutely love them. I go through about 5 lbs every two weeks. Organic carrots of course. I learned it from a veterinarian. He said they don’t go for them at first but once they taste them several times they will eventually like them. I feel the carrots are so much healthier than the brown stuff alone. As time goes, I’m learning about other good stuff for dogs like hard boiled eggs and beef liver. Did not surprise me when punkin went for those carrot peels. Funny their poops are more orange than usual. 😳♌️

I have a Byrna launcher. Good in all 50 states and Canada. I recommend. We were in a campground near a prison and a felon escaped. My aunt who we camped with asked if they had protection, he said no. I said I had a Byrna, so we sat all night watching. The sheriff came through. He check us and we were legal. Won’t go anywhere without my Byrna. It is non-lethal as good as military pepper spray doubles as bear and other animal protection. 60’to 80’ range.

Your lucky I’ve been at war with squirrels for over 35 years it started with a 82 Bronco they ate the wires 4 different times, the worst thing is they clip right next to connectors so you can’t just put in a splice my next fight I bought a new (only brand new auto I’ve bought) Ford diesel the truck only had about 5000 miles when they got it first time.the manufacturers didn’t sell just the individual connectors they wanted to sell the complete harness I was able to rework the end, this worked for several years but would all of a sudden lose connection and stop the engine, I finally got one from a used truck about 3 months ago they struck again I filed a claim with insurance there was 4 wires the shop kept the truck for over a month playing with insurance when I got it back it was less a GPS pair of binoculars all the change from the coin holder as I had to have it toed and it sat in front of his shop for the month no telling whare they went ?

Please take the pointy nozzel and your hose and wash your condenser coils, there very dirty ( radiater thing in tbe front of the truck ) The dirt blocks air flow and can cause big AC problems, it wont cool as it needs to. The comopressor can overheat and begin to go out, if your lucky, the AC fuse will start blowing and warn you. So spare yourself sorrow and wash your condenser coils. It works with a very soft brush with dawn too, but only up and down, no side to side, do t brndvthe fins. God bless.

Nobody hurt and the truck musta still ran. Never heard of a carrot dog till now might have to try it. Bugs...Years ago we lived in a trailer court very small town Nebraska. Our neighbors kids always left the door open. Their trailer had flies covering the ceiling and everything else. That was nasty. Luckily we had a few but whacked them with the swatter. Been watching the radar apps. Every night bad storms tonight they are on the middle of Nebraska. Tornadoes are something to see. Safe travels!

No, I don’t think those swarms were mosquitoes. They were more like the swarms of gnat-like bugs like we get every spring here in Michigan.
They don’t last long but emerge quite thickly early on. They swarm in “clouds” kind of, but I don’t know what the heck they’re called!
Mosquitoes too, but I don’t think mosquitoes swarm together like that. I could be wrong though. They’re a nuisance for sure! 🦟

Here's my recipe for Popper Dip:
    8 oz cream cheese softened
    6 oz sour cream
    1/3 cup pickled jalapenos, chopped
    1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 strips bacon cooked and chopped
    2-3 green onions, chopped
Mix it all together and refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight.
And as with almost all recipes, the amounts you use of the jalapenos, cheddar cheese, bacon and green onions are entirely up to you.

@@DestinationOpenRoad If the sour cream is left out, it becomes a cream cheese spread that's great on bagels, crackers and sandwiches. It also good in quesadillas. And I haven't tried this with this recipe, but it might be a good for a crab rangoon type thing.
