Daniel Craig is Bond in name only. I don't see him or his films as Bond movies. The look of the films is all wrong aswell especially the last one. The colours were just bleak and gray or snow. Where is the globetrotting, the blue sky's and the bright colours of the Moore era? You really felt like he was going around the world in those movies to different locations.
In the series' peak, you'd get a Bond film every 1-3 years. It took 5 years before the most recent one released, and it's been three years since that. Thanks to the Craig era, we lost most of the tropes of the series, and pretty much all of the fun (ironically Quantum of Solace is the only one I enjoy). The series ought to be what is was with Connery, Brosnan and Moore: bigh blockbusters with action, fun, puns, beautiful women, vehicle chases and bombastic score (ideally done by David Arnold). It's worrying because they haven't even found the next man to play Bond.
This will set your hair on fire: EON creates a new sub-corp for every Bond film. But right now, the only entity they have registered is for Othello starring...Daniel Craig. They seem more interested than Craig than Bond. Part of the reason for the delay is probably they cannot find the right actor. Both Brosnan AND Craig were great in the role. Bond is dead. I haven't watched or thought of Bond recently either. Why? The infallibility of the character is integral to the character himself. If he can be killed, he isn't Bond. This franchise survived 60 years because sometimes, people long for heroes that never get old and never die. We need to know we can retreat to a world where one unfailing man protects us from unseen and unspeakable evils. It was ultimate fantasy. While I appreciate that the end of the Daniell Craig era took this huge risk, it has admittedly lowered my overall interest in the franchise. So I deal with it the way Bond would, with a Vodka Martini and a drive in my British roadster.
I'm glad at least that Craig's Bond isn't part of the original continuity, because I can just view his time has a different character altogether. I would love it if they went back to the old timeline where they sometimes allude to him having been married, but never putting too much emphasis on it. A few references to previous adventures here or there, but mostly just a fun movie with the character we all remember and miss. Skyfall is an excellent stand alone flick. Had they been smart, though, Le Chiffre, White, Green, and Silva, would’ve all been SPECTRE henchmen, all leading to the discovery of Blofeld in SPECTRE and a two part finally, like Infinity War and Endgame, culminating in the defeat of Blofeld… but, what we actually got was a mish mash of good and bad ideas and executions that lead to a terrible NTTD. Bond being basically out smarted and defeated by Safin, a knock off Dr. No, was terrible. It was poor writing, coupled with woke politics. I still believe, though, besides Connery, the best Bond was Brosnan; Goldeneye was an awesome flick, and while quality took a nose dive ( I actually like TND and TWINE)… Brosnan put in solid performances as Bond, even with poor writing and stories.

There is an overabundance of great actors that could play Bond. However, along with pushing the woke agenda they made strategic selections in recent movie plots that drove the audience to boredom and dissapointment. Basically the entire situation is what happend with post Endgame Marvel; they had to go back to the basics to find their footing. That's the same thing with Bond Films, they need to go back to the basics if they can't figure it out. They could also try various flicks for it for a while, with various actors where the important thing is Bond, not the story or the time, as is usual for Bond. And they could happen in various eras. Madden would be a great Dalton Era Bond., Cavill could be either current or '50s Bond, Aaron could be current or Brosnan Era, or early '00s Bond. Idris would be a great futuristic Bond, like in 2050/2070 where he's getting to the end of his time and advanced tech helps him way more.

Dude I dreas what the next Bond will be. Me I didn't bother seeing the last load of crap at the cinema and my last was Spectre. Soon well ten years ago.
I’ve watched 5 posts on James Bond this afternoon, all 5 hosted by Americans. That’s fine by me, HOWEVER not one of these 5 hosts has been able to pronounce Daniel Craigs surname :- CRAIG. Every single one of them have pronounced CRAIG- CREG. Strange but true.
Haha, I totally get that being weird. It's just one of those American pronunciations that is completely wrong and makes no sense whatsoever. I'm with you, but it would probably be even weirder for an American to say it the way it should be said.
It should just continue, and deal with that crappy No Time To Die with a typical James Bond flippant comment, and yes , you are correct..it should just be fun! Great video by the way1 Keep up the great work.THANKS!
Even though I consider Casino Royale to be the best of the bunch (and actually love No Time to Die lol), I wholeheartedly agree with all of your key points. Also, I actually really want them to make a one-off final Brosnan movie as an apology to him and his fans (they brought back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield for Spiderman so fuck it, why not?!). Unfortunately, they will never do this and my dreams will be shattered. Would be so cool though.
@@ryanoneill3192 Thanks for your feedback! I’m planning on making a video on this very topic soon, since I think it would be the best thing for the series right now. But you’re right, eon would likely never do it, but hey, they’ve chased trends of the last couple decades and would maybe try the nostalgia bating of recent marvel films.
The Brosnan film will probably never happen, though it would likely be a hit because it has that Never Say Never Again vibe about it. EON should just do it to guarantee a hit while they decide where to take Bond next.
Casino Royale was the best Bond movie period, SkyFall was top 5, Quantum of Solace was not as bad as you're saying, it was much better than many of the campy nonsense we saw from the Roger Moore era, and lets not act like Die Another Day wasn't the worst movie of them all.. Im completely fine with them not dropping a Bond movie every 2 years.. They need to find the right actor first.. Just look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they got greedy and started producing trash after fans began crying more more more.. the same is true with LOTR.. They should have just let Peter Jackson do the original 3 and said no to the Hobbit and all of these gastly spinoffs..
Not as much disrespect as I just think it isn't as good as most of what came after it. It's a great start to the series, but is not one I often revisit. It's just less exciting to me personally than most of the others, but I get the appeal for sure. It's a solid early 60's spy flick.
@chrispalmer9838 not at all? I never said 'don't question' or don't get excited for the next film or 'product'. If your criticisms of films are there is too much time between films and 'just make the movies more fun' exactly how do you intend we do that? Back in the 1960s there was less gap between films because there were more Ian Fleming books to make into films. Also there was a 6 year gap between licence to kill and golden eye while the direction of the franchise found it's feet. Then you had two year gaps between most of the Brosnen bond films, maybe they were fun.. but you also had James Bond surfing FFS. I would prefer thoughtful considered films. Less is more. More content doesn't mean better.

There are plenty of 007 films to enjoy now, so stop making a big deal out of nothing. I'm sure they'll bring Bond back, but I doubt there's that much anticipation based on the last batch. Not really making a deal out of nothing, the majority of the fandom is in agreement with their disappointment in the direction the series has taken.
@@JackRoneyMovieGuy I guess the last 15 years of weak material is the reason why they're having problems restarting a new cycle. Maybe they shouldn't have turned Bond into domestic melodrama (in more ways than one), particularly when the original series was tending to go in a more satirical direction. Look how long it took Mike Myers to get lucky enough to cash in on the 60's spy cycle. I wouldn't be surprised if they rebooted Derek Flint before James Bond. They even rebooted OSS 117 in France as farce and it fared well internationally (even with subtitles). Did you see those? What happens if they decide to bring back 007 as comic farce? Look how fun the animated show ARCHER is. I think Guy Ritchie and his lackluster MAN FROM UNCLE really added to the stall of a Bond reboot. So did the direction they took on KINGSMAN, which started out so well then went downhill quickly. I say good luck to Broccoli and company; they're going to need it.
I heard Barbara Broccoli doesn't like glorifying white men on screen because it might get her disinvited to the impending chic cocktail parties. Killing Bond bought her a couple of years grace period...

Y'know after the latest bunch I really don't mind waiting multiple years before the next one.
i don’t either if it’s worth the wait, but i’m just not super optimistic about where the franchise is going and would like to at least hear an announcement about the next one.
I think they made mistakes by killing bond and spectre they should have bond alive and spectre the way they did it they ended the franchise
@ this is a great idea!
Brosnan with Tarantino, for a one off Bond movie about Bond in his 70’s going on one final mission… combination of Thunderball and Death Proof… lol
They should have just let Peter Jackson do the original 3 and said no to the Hobbit and all of these gastly spinoffs..
what the fuck is going on with that wall
abstract artistic self expression!
Ayo whats with the dr no disrespect
Not as much disrespect as I just think it isn't as good as most of what came after it. It's a great start to the series, but is not one I often revisit. It's just less exciting to me personally than most of the others, but I get the appeal for sure. It's a solid early 60's spy flick.
@JackRoneyMovieGuy that's fair, the rest of the Bond series has a lot of better films in it so I get your point it's less exciting
Sorry, how many films have you made?
Don't question. Consume product. Get excited for next product?
@@theadamtron this is a classic logical fallacy. Assuming that I can’t criticize something because I’m not an active part of that thing is ridiculous. If this were true, why vote in an election if you’ve never run for office?
@@JackRoneyMovieGuy you can criticise all you want. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Just because anyone has an opinion doesn't make it educated. What is your knowledge and background on film making? Why should we listen to it?
@@JackRoneyMovieGuy just to clarify. Absolutely respect your creativity and opinion in putting this up. Please explain how making less gaps between films in a franchise (less pre production prep and work) makes any film better?
I'll be honest, with all of the shit leftist propaganda the movie industry puts out these days im afraid of these folks doing another Bond....i dont want to hate a Bond film!
Wow....another youtuber whining about Bond as if they know how the film industry functions and they could somehow run it "better" 🙄
@@dim391 wow… another commenter whining about a youtuber whining about something. Nothing wrong with speaking your piece.
There are plenty of 007 films to enjoy now, so stop making a big deal out of nothing. I'm sure they'll bring Bond back, but I doubt there's that much anticipation based on the last batch. Maybe they'll do one like Charles K. Feldman did in 1967 because Woody Allen is still around to do a cameo as Jimmy Bond, and I'll buy tickets to that!
@@TheVid54 it’s just that the last 15+ years of being a Bond fan have been mostly disappointing. I can enjoy almost all of the old films, but I would like to look forward to something new coming out.
It’s a good time nowadays for first black Bond! Just need a good script and an appropriate actor to invent new differ James…
I feel like a black Bond would’ve been cooler like ten years ago. If they do it now, it’ll come off as insincere to a lot of people. Personally I don’t think it matters what race he is, as long as he’s still the character.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing a black spy series, but this doesn't have to be Bond. Trying to change the character that much is asking for trouble. We want a good movie, not a political statement.
@ I definitely agree with you but I also want to say that I doubt we can get nowadays white man brunette classical Bond who is brutal as Craig’s Bond and can easily slap a woman’s face like Sean’s Bond did…
I want a Trans Black Chinese Bond who dresses like a cat and takes a litter box with them everywhere them goes.
@@Goriot7they can pull it off if they give zero f‘s to everyone who are offended about it
Brosnan sucked
Yeah... i'll take NTTD and QOS any day of the week over Skyfall, hell, i will even take DAF and Spectre (up until the stupidest reveal ever) over it. That doesn't mean i hate it, i love all the of the Bond films, but Skyfall it's way down on my rating.
not 3 , 5 years. org, no time to die was to release in oct. 2019, but was post forward to feb,2020, then to april. 2021, then to oct. 2021. eon has seens 2019, knowing they need to find a way to bring bond back, also find new actor, but like between spectre and this one, eons barbara b, did not wanted another actor for the role, she has an obsession over craig, and toke her almost 4years to bring him back, to let him control the hole thing, and let bond died, Danny Boyle did not wanted bond to die and other stuff, that craig wanted, craig wanted the woke, Boyle wanted to make more classic bond. Boyle out, and they found a director who did do everything craig wanted. Still Barbara has her eyes only for craig, she paid for his teather production, and other stuff...she wont do bond again without craig. EON need new producers
@@SmartFabian007 the problem with NTTD isn’t “woke”, it’s that it shits all over the character and the franchise. But I mostly agree with you, and it’s been a wildly long time.
