    It seems like all of the Bond actors hated to play the part of Bond. Thanks to this character they are famous and wealthy.

    • @TheBadElf
      @TheBadElf 12 дней назад +2

      Even though he hated violence Roger Moore enjoyed playing Bond and only retired from the role because he felt he was too old to continue. Dalton didn't hate the part and only declined the offer to do a third movie because it meant he would have to commit to several more movies and the hiatus after LTK had a negative impact on his career. Brosnan liked playing the role of Bond but you can tell he's a bit bitter about the fact that they sacked him. I don't think Connery really hated playing Bond, he just didn't want to be typecast and felt he was being underpaid. He returned for an unofficial Bond movie in 83 and did the voice acting for the FRWL video game in 2005. Only Lazenby and Craig seemed to genuinely hate the experience and Lazenby regrets how he behaved during the production of OHMSS.

    The, "sad" (for lack of a better word) thing about being such a great actor in a certain role. Mr. Connery IS James Bond to many people. All other actors who ever filled the role/shoes are compared to Mr. Connery as Bond. On one hand, it is a testament to the acting skill that an actor, "becomes" the person portrayed. On the other hand, it is sad to see their acting ability becomes limited to being ONLY seen by so many as a certain character. Some who come to mind, George Reeves as Superman, Clayton Moore as The lone Ranger, James Parsons as Sheldon. All fit and played the part so well, it is difficult to see anyone else play the role. The curse of great acting?

    You did not mention he was a grave digger aswell as a coffin polisher. He often talked up Scotland independence but lived most of his life abroad in tax havens and to the dismay of SNP party leaders gave little in donations including none when his estate was read. Ian Fleming originally wanted Roger Moore but he was anchored by his " The Saint" for TV production ITC iron contract. So Connory was lucky.

      Well, he donated his entire fee for Diamonds Are Forever to an education charity. If money was his God he didn't mind giving it away to a cause in which he believed.
      It's worth watching the "Becoming Bond" movie about George Lazenby's' brief time on the role. They tried to keep him (and of course he should have accepted) but if the film is to be believed, the contract dictated not only the standard commercial stuff but what he was allowed to wear, how he should have his hair cut, where he was allowed to eat - even when he was between movies and not filming for them, they just didn't want 007 to be seen with long hair eating at a Wimpy or whatever.
      He felt - as well as feeling he could do other things (CLANG!) - that this was too intrusive and I think he ws probably right.
