- A playthrough of Hudson's 1993 action puzzle game for the Super NES, Super Bomberman.
Played through the single-player "normal" mode.
Hudson's first Bomberman game for the Super NES was wildly popular when it was first released. Not only did it give the graphics and sound a huge upgrade over the (good but largely ignored) Bomberman II released the year before for the NES. It also came packaged with the multitap, which let you hook up give controllers at once to the system, allowing for four players to play the game's infamous battle mode simultaneously (5P support wasn't included until SBM3 was released in 1995).
For our European friends, this installment also marks the first time a game in the series kept the original name for a PAL release instead of being renamed Dynablaster.
Super Bomberman is an awesome game, no doubt. It was far outclassed by later entries in the series, but there's no denying the sheer brilliance of the gameplay here.

This game had some of the best battle music I've ever heard - specifically levels 5, 6, and the boss battles. The composers at Hudson knew what they were doing!

Though it may be have been way outclassed by later games in the series, by introducing the SNES Multitap, Super Bomberman made for one helluva good party game.

As far as gameplay the game may be outdated and monotonous compared to other Super Nintendo games. However on the soundtrack front, it has quite the great soundtrack that makes for a great listen.
The battle mode I would say is much better than the story mode and I played that mode much more often, spending summer days blasting computer opponents or playing against my older brother. The battle mode was definitely the most engaging and strategic mode the game had, and the hectic music for the battles certainly set the stage well.

This was my absolute favorite Snes game next to super metriod! The music all the power ups! I won every local tournament in my town that I could go to.
I owned this game and Super Bomberman 2 when I was a kid. I didn't even know about 3, 4, and 5 until after the SNES was replaced by the N64.

The final boss was awesome. We have to use boxing glove to defeated the final boss. I have to figured out 2 days non stop to playing this game. What a memory.

OST in this game is such a banger
there's a... bug, i would say in this game. at the start of a stage, while your character is blinking/invincible, you can plant a bomb, let it explode on you, and spam the bomb button for consecutive explosions while you roam around. just keep in mind to stop when your character's invincibility goes off
ive used and abused this ever since the first game, not sure if it exists on the most recent one doe

But they are called "Kinkaru" in this game.

O melhor jogo do Bomberman já feito.
I love how broken you can be in this game at maximum power. Fully upgraded walking speed is insane here and red RC bombs tear through any level with ease. I really miss the red bombs, even though they were too OP burning through whole rows of blocks and enemies was so satisfying.
the piercing bombs are the same but it has another skin instead of a red normal bomb
@@cyanthelouie The thing about this particular game is that it's the only title that lets you acquire the effects of remote control bombs and piercing (red) bombs at the same time. In the later games you can only have one at a time which is why the red bombs were better than the reskinned variant that doesn't merge with RC bombs. These two types of bombs are still highly potent upgrades on their own but when they're both stacked together they become utterly devastating and only this game lets you do this.

the other is that kicked bombs and punched bombs can also damage anything that gets in their way
There's also that invincible "bug" at the start of the levels

I remember checkmating my brother in a 1v1 arcade game probably 1 and a half decades ago. I trapped him in the Speed Zone with Time bombs (we called it Timers). Out of frustration, he pushed MY trigger button and managed to escape. Sly fox! 😂😂😂

It's one of my top ten Super Nintendo games and I love it. I've finished it well a thousand times and I'll play it again. Code 5656 is fun for having small characters.

Maybe this game don't have all the advantages and improvements that the other four subsequent sequels had, however, beyond a doubt, for me if it has the most exquisite musical compositions of the entire Super series.
World 5 tears me apart every time. Nevertheless, it's fun, especially with Remote + Super Bomb combo.
