I thought Samara's speech about slashers representing fears of the time was so great in retrospect considering how many of the kills in this film take place in public places or with plenty of people around - so true to the fears of today
@@apocalypsepow you haven't even seen the film yet, "I'm assuming" X is my favorite horror of all time lolz. I'm sure if she's talking this up, it will be quite good. Or very entertaining in the least. 😝

Can we seriously appreciate Spyglass Media Group I mean not only did they made a massive comeback after a decade long hiatus, but they have made one of the best revivals of a long popular horror franchise in modern Hollywood I mean Halloween 2018 was good but the sequels ruined it and that franchise is currently in a coma. If I were Jason Blum I’d be a little scared of Spyglass and the Exorcist trilogy he is producing.
Hopefully he's taking notes from them and the reception of Halloween ends and makes improvements. He's doesn't seem like the cash grab person and a actual fan of the content he releases so I have hope at least for the exorcist because there's potential.
Just came back and it was easily the scariest in the franchise. Might be because I'm going to college, living in a big city in a dorm, it just hit home how scary that would be. There is a particular scene involving a ladder that just had me shaking emotionally because it was so intense. I was SO happy with this movie and I hated the previous one, this felt like the perfect continuation and making it fresh again! Leaving Woodsboro (and Sidney) behind was the best decision for this franchise. I really didn't like the new characters in the previous one but "the core four" are my new favs!
Can someone please explain the fascination or excitement from Kirby? Why was she such a fan favorite? Love Hayden, but I wanna jump on the love train for her as well. I didn’t watch #5 but I just finished #6 and it was surprisingly so good. Nervous how it was gonna play out considering we heard Neve wasn’t going to be in it, but the cast did such a great job. Courtney’s scene with ghost face was one of my favorites. She was badass and love her fighting back. I love the core four. Such a good ending.
I believe Hayden has had a lot of personal issues and retired but this was her first gig back so hopefully she’s back to fighting form as an actress for S7.
Yeah I’ve just seen the film and I love Kirby but scream 4 but here she was lacking. It is like 12 years on and she has had a break and lot of personal issues which is evident on screen.
So glad to see such an enthusiastic review Grace! I do feel a little disappointed that they're using the most generic poster to market the movie when the others have been so creative.
A reviewer JUST spelled out EXACTLY what happens in the opening scene. It was so ridiculous. I’ve read so many reviews that didn’t spell out the twisted opening, but a professional, certified “Top Critic” on Rotten Tomatoes.
Loved it!!! Only thing i disagree with you on is Kirby! Always been a huge Kirby fan and enjoyed everytime she was on screen, i do think she didnt feel quite the same as Scream 4 but i think that was fully intended, she's 30 now, she's not a teenager anymore and has been through something horrible and came out the other side much tougher and trained her way up to the FBI, it felt like a natural maturity to her character over the past decade But over all such a good movie, do we think there will be a Scream 7??
same, i like how Kirby’s character has evolved. i liked the portrayal in Scream 4, but i expected a change… especially after very tragic events. the filmmakers and Hayden Penettiere say they only wanted to include the character if the story was right, so i trust her role is thoughtful and sincere
I want to see this one and I feel the same about Kirby. She should be different now. Having survived such a traumatic experience she isn’t the carefree teen she was in 2011. And I really loved Scream 4.
An on another note, Hayden most likely used her troubles of the past few years to fuel her performance here. But either way she is a damn good actress and I am happy to see her back in action. Need to watch 2022.
I agree with you Grace about Kirby. Very upset because I’m rooting for Hayden in real life but this was not good. All her lines seemed wooden and rushed. It wasn’t coming across well. They needed to give her a big heroic moment. I think her best scene was with Mindy.
As a scream fan I was pleasantly surprised by how good this was. It was genuinely tense, and the kills were brutal. The Sam character was much better in this one, and I agree, this new ghost face seems way more intimidating and dangerous which I appreciated. I wish they did more with the film school element and I hated the killer Reveal tbh, but I'm excited to see them continue with the cast. I love the legacies but I agree the series suddenly feels fresh and unpredictable which is always better.
Actually enjoyed it. I think the train and bodega scene were really good. Love Jenna Ortega in this just as much as I loved her in the first. She conveys the emotions so damn well!!!
See this development with ghost face kinda turns me off. I don’t want him to be like a jason, Freddy, or Michael type. Part of the fun of scream is the whodunnit aspect and that one of the principal characters is actually the killer hiding in plain sight.

happy to hear you liked it! i guess from a business perspective i understand the comments about Neve Campbell but i really think she's content if the movies go on without her. not in a way where she looks down on the franchise, but just comfortable with the idea of it moving on without Sidney. it's realistic anyway! i don't think Neve is necessarily banking on the movie not doing well or anything either! what she did just seems like a personal decision and i'd hate for her to be pitted against this film/franchise when i do not believe that's where she stands herself
You kiddin? All of Neve's statements that I've seen are absolutely about being lowballed and undervalued. Fixing the pay-gap for an O.G. legacy actress like her, are negotiations that could benefit future actress' like Ortega in 30 years- but no, everyone's fine with Neve being cut out. It's terrible. She deserves respect.

Loved the film Grace! Didn’t care for the twist but still so solid and agree Sam was much better this time! Also, think she may be a better final girl than Sydney.
Just finished Scream 6 & as a lifelong fan of the Ghostface Cult I can definitively say that this sequel was BADASS all the way until the unveiling which was honestly disappointing to me, but still a definite watch! 🔪 And the fear to kill characters for some reason made this better than 5, but worse than 4.
Saw it last night over here in our country, full cinema, everyone loved it. The Scream series is still going strong! It had so many fresh takes and it matured from relying on slasher, to slasher thriller. A bunch of people stayed back just to chat about it, and we got to see the end credits scene. 😄 Im SO glad I missed all the spoilers online. I just can't look at Courtney Cox any more. It's SO distracting. I was actually okay to have Gale killed off. I really like the Carpenter sisters.
Trying to go in spoiler free, so hyped for this film!! Praying for Anika to live, my queen!! Also, they should bring back Emma Roberts at some point, she's the best~ c:
I almost forgot this was also coming out this week 🙂. "65" is the priority to me, but...90 minutes plus credits...my confidence in that is dwindling by the minute 🙂...the two are lined up for a double-header, maybe I'll do that.
You should 1000% see both!! I don’t want you to miss out on ScreamVI it’s truly unique and brutal!! So many moments in the movie where being in a theater with a crowd just intensifies it… it’s my favorite movie in a long time

She’s one second (if that) on the trailer, her character is the only one that never interacted with the other cast mates and Samara was the last addition to the movie, not really a spoiler
Scream 6 was awesome one of the best. But it also has plotholes and moments where I think '' oh common'!. Like that dad shooting just once when that girl hangs on the balcony, like that dad doesn't shoot her but falls together. On those moments I think the movie writers didn't always do a great job. But the movie is awesome still.
I didn't care for part 5, it didn't have any likeable characters. Just my opinion, feel free to dissent. This one had great villains. I loved the Wes Craven trilogy. With Neve Campbell gone, I wasn't expecting to like this one. It was cool, the ending got silly. You DON'T bring a brick to a knife fight, that also has a gun. And Chad got stabbed so many times in the movie. That made no sense. Mindy some how survived as well. Ethan must have fought the knife with his tongue? I don't know. But except for the silliness of the end, I thought it was a fun ghost story/horror film.
I’m seeing it for the second time tonight and I’m hooked. It’s a different approach. I mean the reason why it’s happening makes sense but it feels repeated but in a fresh way.
Thought this was a great movie. I am more interested in Ghost Face than Sidney Prescott so glad he’s front and center. Scream always brings something new to the table and that opening - WOW. I also guessed the culprit for once! Yay! Go see this movie and get ready for Scream VII baby!
I absolutely loved the movie I find that the reveal of the killers for this movie and the last hasn’t been the strongest due to the motives about the “Stab” movies but I’m so invested in the core four and the twist and turns are always so great. Love it
Please be careful when you release your spoiler review thumbnail! Last time you had Dewey in the thumbnail and I knew he was gonna bite the dust. Love your content! I'm so excited!
This movie seems like trash. Basically Samara Weavings character is the opening kill by some college dude named Jason who is unmasked early on who is his professor. He gets killed by another Ghostface who turns out to be Ethan who did not like the fact he killed their teacher. Ethan is related to Quinn and the Detective dude who are in fact all related to Richie, the dude from V, and are avenging for him. There was basically a cult of ghostfaces running around, one murdered before the events of the movie that was another classmate named Greg. Ethan did this one I guess to avoid some sort of conflict he had with him.
I'm so happy im going to watch this movie without any spoilers.. I know nothing about anything.. and I've only seen 20 seconds of the trailer. I just come back here later today
I thought Samara's speech about slashers representing fears of the time was so great in retrospect considering how many of the kills in this film take place in public places or with plenty of people around - so true to the fears of today

Scream always brings something new to the table and that opening - WOW.
I also guessed the culprit for once! Yay!
Go see this movie and get ready for Scream VII baby!
hahaha hi bot.
I always click on the post notification when Grace posts 🙏
NOT A LOT OF KIRBY??????? SHE WAS THE REASON WHY I WANTED TO WATCH THIS MOVIE 😢😢😢
So you basically just said that Jenna Ortega is playing Lydia in Beetlejuice?
Or her daughter if it's a sequel.
It's 80% on Rotten Tomatoes so far. That's a good sign.
I saw the opening and ending scene as spoilers 🤬😡🤬 but the opening is easily the best in the series.
looks like ghostface just threw his hands up and said F it there are no rules anymore can't wait to see it
With Kirby I think they took Sydney’s characters place.. just slight alterations to her story but same elements
Was slightly disappointed. Gave me Fast and the Furious vibes. Scream 2 is still the best
I had the film completely spoiled unfortunately but I still really enjoyed it but I wish I’d seen less spoilers going into it
I'm so happy im going to watch this movie without any spoilers.. I know nothing about anything.. and I've only seen 20 seconds of the trailer. I just come back here later today
Wait, I thought the Regal Union Square theater was closed??
