i go to Florida for 6 months. seems like a good hack.
My son lived in FL for almost 37 years (outside USMC) and moved to Maine, ON PURPOSE, in December.
He is very intelligent otherwise, so.......
Yep, going to Florida is probably the best "Hack" to avoid Canadian winters I've heard of yet.
The funniest comment yet..
@@justLOGify 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@eboracum2012 I am actually a born and raised Floridian (I know, rare) and I just moved to Kansas and one of the reasons was - real winter! I'm a Floridian who can't stand heat and humidity.
Keep a live bear in your car overnight. It will act as theft protection, and in the morning your seats will be warm.
I love this idea lol
🤣
Omg that’s the best idea ever!!!🎉
Not pouring water on the ground to form ice and slip on.

Instead put it on your washerfluid tank. Lol
pour it on the nearest vehicle
I go to Qatar and Brazil from November to April every year ... This life hack has been saving me from the winter for as long as I can remember
When I grow up I will too..
When I can afford it I will too
Nice if one can afford it.
If I was a beautiful woman, such as you are E.B. I'm sure I could find a rich man to take me to Qatar or Brazil as you did.. hehehe
At the Dollar Tree, you can buy plastic canisters that slowly soak up condensation. I think they're meant for closets, but I kept one in my truck last year
Are you talking about Damp-Rid?
@@eboracum2012 Yeah they make an off brand version
Does that works?
don't make your own de-icer. Its called windshield washer fluid and it's cheaper. Also don't use cooking spray, get silicone lubricant.
But what if I want my car to have that “movie theater buttered popcorn” aroma in the morning?
@@w3vjp568dude you're killing me. 😂
@@w3vjp568I will stop by your car an fart inside of it.. this should give you a similar result in which your looking for buddy!
I have used a dark trash bag (fresh and new) with small magnets taped to all four corners, placed so the magnets adhere to the hood and roof while covering the wipers and the glass. You may have to use several magnets along the top and bottom to get a good attachment, but it has worked for me for years. I also cover my side mirrors if I think the weather will frost over. And you can get a small cigarette lighter socket powered heater, and place it on the dash after starting your car, to speed up the defrosting process faster than your car can.
Love the suggestion about a 12v heater, wish I would have thought of that sooner! That'll definitely heat the window up faster than waiting for the engine to heat up. Thanks for sharing!
Making love in the car really heats it up.
👬+🍆💦= 💩
Bruh u not making love in the car. U just beatin yo meat LOL
and pop out with a baby trunks
NIce gang signs at the end. CBC 4 Life!
Never use socks on your wipers. The socks will get wet and freeze on your wipers.
yeah. use those cheap grocery bags. If you're a midwesterner, you've got a bag of bags in your closet. I know you do!!
Before turning the car off put vents on recirculation setting and max heat. A box of baking soda in the back to a obsorb moisture. Where I live it's always -30°C and I have put hot tap water in bucket and thrown it on my car for many years without every damaging anything. :)
parking inside a heated garage
wonderful tips.
I buy extra jugs of wiper fluids that is rated for extreme cold and would put it in a spray bottle, then have at it on the ice windows as my car warms up
Plastic bags tied to mirror on the car without heated mirrors to keep snow/ice/frost off, windshield cover to cover up at least the wiper blades, keeping two baking soda boxes (the kind for your fridge so it doesn't spill) to keep interior from fogging up when parking before starting work/end of the day. Pull both sunshades down to speed up defrosting of the windshield since it holds heat against the glass longer.
Great tips!
Run your heat until warm enough, then switch to recycled air and turn the fans off after a minute or two. Warm air won’t escape and cold air can’t come in from the front grill.
The same can be done in the Summer with your AC. Get it cool, switch to recycled air and turn off fans and AC.
This can give you up to an hour of hot or cold before running the heat or AC again for just a couple minutes, then shut down all power sucking parts to keep from draining your battery; It creates less work for your alternator, and can cut fuel consumption in both gas or electric cars as well as hybrids. Enjoy!
Keep the little Sasha's you find in food stuff'put them in a old sock tye in a knot and leave on the dash,no more condensation.
Get carpet samples to put upside down under wiper blades.
Try using the same -40 windshield fluid in a spray bottle.
"i dOn'T hAvE a CaR" hack
Night King but you have a dragon!
I bought a car hack and it lasted me a lifetime.. "Honey! get outside and warm up that car! and don't forget to sweep the snow off and scrape the windshield!.. $7.2 million dollars over a lifetime.
Super. Need More......
Thanks.
Your heart is in the right place. I appreciated the effort.
I leave my car running with the heater on all night.
You must be wealthy!!!!
what a waste
I don't think that's meant to be serious.
LOL
with today's fuel prices, you must own a diamond mine!
this is v helpful!
Thick silicone grease to your door seals. Do not use cooking spray
Haynes silicone grease worked well for me.
I was going to pour hot water into my car’s frozen shield next morning. Thanks! You saved me 😂
Buy an engine remote start, install it, and use it! I start my car from my apartment and I let it run for 15 minutes to warm up.
Use a damn windshield protector so you won't worry about having ice on your windshield!
Why am I watching this I live in Miami and have no plans of leaving during winter
Move to BC, anywhere on the coast...
I put my de ice wind shield wiper fluid in a spray bottle. I have put bags and socks on my mirrors. I cover my car sometimes. I will be putting calcium chloride, the same ingredient in damp rid , which can be used on the ground safely the company states. I purchased a 50 lb bag for $20 which was cheaper then buying damp rid.
Never use socks on your wipers, your feet will get cold.
🙂
So basically leave windows cracked overnight in the winter time ??
Place a towel on the window. Use this instead of expensive covers,
And if its long enough, you can drape it over your side-mirrors, it'll protect those too if it's not too cold!
I make sure I have my timberland boots and every month paid my bus tickets.....
Clean all ice and snow off completely before driving. For your safety and all the vehicles on the road. It is also an offence that can get you a ticket.
What a great video! I also learned a lot from the comments. Thanks everyone. I am a 67-year-old female, and this is first time I've ever needed this info.
Get on the roof and pee on it.
All natural!
De-icer only works if it's higher than -10. The labels are flat out wrong.
1. dont you have to get out of your car?? why not just open the door and leave it open for a few seconds
Best hack: buy a POS $1000 car for the winter and leave your nice one parked
Darwin award
Better put snow tires on it though.
My winter hack is not living in a place that gets below 50°F
My winter weather hack is living in Cali.
Move to Arizona no snow best hack ever
How is this not in french as well i thought they speak french in Canada even the airports have both English and French i have been to Victoria BC it is beautiful you could just move there during the winter
Cardboard over the windshield & rear window.??
I moved to BC ;)

How to prevent the car engine from freezing when winter camping in your van IN THE WILDERNESS
Wouldnt WD40 work or arm n hammer for the door rubber?
nope...door frozen shut for days and tried that every day
I have poured warm water on my cars over the last 10years, never had one windshield or body panel cracked.
The trick is warm.water, around 80C degree.
And turn on ur wipers right after the warm water
Clear your frosty windshield instantly
don't use cooking spray, use spray silicon
Smear vaseline on the door rubbers instead of cooking oil, cleaner and doesn't smell.
Ceramic coat your car nothing will even stay on it to begin with best decision I’ve made
ME!
4 litres / 1 gallon of cold water all around...... But never hot
park the car close to house wall.😊
the weather that we get that damages your car is because of your car. best tip is to not own a car
Wow bad advice.. My 22 year old cars ac automatically turns on on the windshield setting... it's been like that for cars for quite a while. As for the cooking spray omfg no... you should ONLY use pure silicone NO lubricant or penetrating oil should be in it. Crc makes good stuff. The cracking the window thing is goofy too you and gilunna get all kinds of water drips snow and mist into the car..... the biggest issue with moisture getting into your car is your feet covered in snow and water. Get good floor mats with a lip so you can dump em out or wipe them out with a rag. Wet carpets are normally the source o window frost. I've never heard of anyone breaking a windshield with the wipers up in winter, only people breaking them when they are CHANGING the blades and leave the arm up with no blade on it..... NEVER scrape the inside of your windows they have tint films and you will damages those and the heater lines on the rear window. If it's really cold in your area get a battery blanket and a oil heater when it's really cold below freezing you engine uses tons more effort to turn over. Best idea is get a remote starter and leave your heat setting on low and defrost. Last tip. If your car is really iced up bad only try to get in and get it started. Let it warm up for a few minutes and scraping the windows will go much faster.
What can you do if? Your neighbor Power washes and they're solution gets on your car after it has been Ceramic.
I park in the garage.
plastic bags on my windows ? cooking spray?
warm water...

How often should I treat my gas tank?
@@ad-venturer305 I recommend two applications a week. Big gulps help with the application process.
Hot towel

Is anyone really going to put bags over their mirrors? Looks like a prank, not a hack😄. I get the frozen shut doors almost all winter. Believe me when I say that I've tried everything. I wish i had a heated garage. 😁 that's the problem solver right there. ❄☃️❄☃️❄☃️❄☃️❄☃️❄
If you use a thick silicone grease, that would be used for lubricating rubber seals in plumbing or mechanical it will do the job. My sister couldn't believe the difference when I did it to her early 2000's Nissan. I used "Haynes Silicone Grease" (which is what we use in plumbing for lubricating seals), or you could go in to NAPA or Canadian Tire and look for "Super Lube silicone lubricating compound". My brother's boss is a mechanic and recommended the super lube brand. Apply once a year.
@@killax7 Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to look for that. 😊 I've tried so many things, maybe this will be the one.
also, wipe clean the frame where the gasket makes contact with the car. If there is dirt and buildup, it can hold moisture
Remote start 😂
Park your vehicle in a heated garage.. ding-ding!
Not living where it snows is my hack.
Something something buzzfed
Mine is to park my car into garage.....
@@davidthomas6949 you are write but my car is not that old
@@davidthomas6949 there's not going to be that much of a dramatic tempature change from your garage and outside
Or just use a water repellent for windshield and side windows
Thanks me later
Does it actually work?
Throw all the junk out of your garage and put your car in it. Also skip there ac tip its already tied into your heat/defroster setting in your car.
I can't believe she is scraping the inside of her car windows with an ice scraper. That will cause so many scratches as the interior side of the windows do not have the same coating as the outside.
Mandeep Banwait plastic can’t scratch glasses, that’s fact
Unless ur talking about the the film
Who is her?
I just driveeeee
My car door frozen and I try to poured warm water . Omg.. now I know what to do thanks so much.
Use a silicone spray, not a cooking spray. Cooking spray may degrade the seals.
I thumped up cuz she's cute.😉👌

Cooking spray? Use silicone spray. Good grief. The silicone will protect the seals, and keep them soft, while keeping them from freezing, while not being greasy like chicken. Cooking spray might even degrade the seals. Those things are expensive to replace.
