    BONUS TIP.

  • @janeclarke-cj6md

Also you can use very coarse cat litter for getting unstuck. It works, and is something I learned in the 1980s

I’m happy to see someone posting this for Gen Z that is just figuring out the wonderful world of driving in winter.

Kitty litter can help under tires on ice. Maybe put a jug in your trunk with other emergency supplies

  • @RaechelleBennett782

If you don't have room for a shovel, cut the bottom and part of one side of a 4 gallon milk jug, or laundry detergent jug, etc and use it as a mini shovel/scoop for snow in a dig out. You can also still use it as a funnel if you need one.

Floor mats was a great idea 🥶

  • @otarsulava

WD-40 silicone - make sure you ALSO apply it under the hood rubber trim, in case you need to jump start your car hood will not freeze on frame too. One more tip: there is a TIRE GRIP spray, eBay sells them, you apply it on a thread, not on a side like a tire shine, it forms a fresh rubber layer, good to drive up to 50 miles on snow or ice, much better traction. Drive safe ✌️

Best tip is to stay home

  • @GeneralKato

When stuck in freezing winter conditions warmth is most important. Throw in your kit next to the above mentioned items a pack of tea lights, a few bic lighters, and something to burn the tea lights in (for safety). A few burning tea lights are very good at keeping warmth in your car. Open your window a tiny bit for fresh air and to let moisture out! Add a blanket if you want. An led light at night is visible for miles so if truly stuck, don’t leave your car. They’ll find your car, usually, before they find you…... Add dried food/energy bars.

    Great video!!! Super helpful!!

Carrying a can of de-icer would help a lot with the glass too.

Always clear your tailpipe if you are going to let your car run. If the snow is higher than your tailpipe, it will push carbon monoxide back into the car. People die every year in Northern states.

    like windshield cover tip 🤗

  • @barryg4927

Consider getting military MRE Meals to take with you in case you’re stranded. This was a great and informative video.! also consider having candles and matches with you in a tin can to keep them dry. That way you can melt some snow for drinking. Also your bottled water if you’re stranded is going to freeze so you’re gonna need to build to melt that.

Great tip enjoyed video. I work with a locksmith, he told me never put silicone in any kind of lock. Silicone will gum locks up. Thanks

  • @boyczk2

Pam cooking spray is very good

  • @rachelmaier1057

Thank you, I like the car mats info and plastic bags. Also the w-40 silicone spray info. Glad you shared your video. 👍🇺🇸

Regarding those emergency items he showed in a trunk. Believe it or not, water freezes in below freezing weather and probably would burst the flimsy plastic bottles.

Also, put an extra blanket and GLOVES in your rig!!!

  • @JR-lb4ng

You can also use rubbing alcohol to remove ice from your windshield and windows and mirrors
