Some people consider smartphone as hobby, they are generally same but uniquely different, it’s cheaper than watch, expensive watch tell the same time on a dollar toy watch, but they’re not the same. So don’t preach people about their hobby.
Those who don’t care about smartphones aren’t watching these videos, they go out and buy whatever the promoter tells them, we watch these videos because we’re interested.
If i tell you to stop obsessing your hobby, you will have my words coming out of your mouth, and then you’d slap ‘em hard.

This is the first flagship gen Ive been completely uninterested. I have an S22 Ultra. The AI isn't enough of a drawcard given it's using Google's iteration, which is still playing catch-up to ChatGPT4. I think it will get people because of the big AI marketing hype they can push to people who still dont use ChatGPT4 because of various limitations (ability, price, availability, etc).
Given the Galaxy AI is only free for approximately a year and then you'll be paying for it, and said AI helps with photos, if you don't want to keep paying later then you'll be sacrificing some of the camera tech if that is why you switch.
Feels like if you want a phone, that's simply a one-off buy for a longer term than yearly, you'd be better staying with an S23 Ultra.

As somebody who has had every version since note 10, I am going to upgrade from 23 to 24. Because:
-The new glass screen is supposed to be 2x brighter, and have 75% less glare
-I cracked a screen on the very edge of the curved screen on my 23, not everyone does, but this is always where the sceeen cracks
-Curved screen makes a good screen protector hard to come by (always peel or dont cover edges)
-I like the new tech, and dont really want to wait half a year for the software updates, totally personal preference though
-I go caseless or dbrand skin when i can, so the matte edges will be a lot nicer than the current fingerprint magnets on the s23

Just upgraded my S22 Ultra to a S23 Ultra. Having spent some considerable time weighing up the differences and even the discounts Samsung offered on a new S24 Ultra, I still feel this is around the best time (as I've always done) at or near the new launch date, to buy the previous model. I managed to get a brand new sealed S23 Ultra for a smidgen above £700, which to me is a cracking deal. Plus, I can now sell the S22 Ultra to recoup some of that cost. Its a no-brainer.
Side note: I feel once you put on a phone case (I personally use Samsung's own) the curved edges and for sure the pen tip, both of these issues you noted are no longer issues.
If you shop around this time of year, you really can grab yourself a great deal. Just my opinion.
Paying £1k+ around launch is insane when you look at the depreciation over 1yr.

Im currently on the s22u but the 128gb which is horrible, ran out of space pretty fast so im trading in the s22u for the s24u 512gb for the price of $600 not a bad deal

The only reason i'm moving to the S24u is because i can trade my S22u and basically pay £20 less than what i'm paying right now. Else i wouldn't have changed my S22u, very solid phone.

I used to upgrade every year, we are past that point and leaps aren't as monumental. You only need to upgrade every 4 years now because tech has gotten too good. Midrange phone even have gotten better and don't need yearly upgrades. If you have a 22 ultra like myself, spend that 1k plus on investing in Samsung and apple

I have watched reviews like this since last year. Since the price for S22 ultra has dropped from $ 1,467.00 to $ 460.00 only for the 12/256 SD variant, I bought it. Ain't no way I am paying full price for these phones.

I thought my S21U had the best form factor ever, however I bought the S22U and it really grew on me.
Sadly here in the Netherlands we only have Exynos processor. Am thinking about buying a used S23U for Snapdragon and better battery life, but in my heart I know I shouldn't waste my money.

the presenter is wrong with the 5x to 10x zoom lens issue on the S24U. going from 5x to 10x doesn't involve AI or any software "trickery" it is simply cropping down the image by half to go from 5x to 10x. Given you start off with a 50mp image the end result is actually better when compared to the 12MP image from the native 10x and still entirely optical.

Doubt it when it's arguably the biggest addition for people to get it. Less consumers will be interested in the change in chip vs. using AI, which is obviously pretty game-changing in many ways.

We've reached a diminishing returns point in phones. Only small software related incremental improvements. This is a good time to hold on to your phone for a good couple years before anything drastically new will be introduced. OR maybe nothing will be new for a good 4-5 years who knows. Only part that's the bummer is the battery life dying after a few years. I didn't upgrade to the 23 and will skip the 24 as well. Zero desire or need. Also this push for AI doesn't interest me as it's a hit or miss. Plus seems totally unnecessary.

@@royweldon2436 the s22 ultra is the most exciting phone I ever experienced. I remember using it a year ago, going to be 2 years in march, at my local AT&T store and it was quite an experience. I was blown away by the camera quality. I had an iPhone 8 Plus at the time and I already wanted to upgrade from that, even though at the time i only had it for a year. I was so happy and already counting my days until graduation so I could get it. I almost chose the s22 ultra until I heard about the battery life of the iPhone, then I got disappointed with it and hated it.
