Still using this phone since release. Got tempted to upgrade to S24u..but I held on since it got the AI updates. SAME ISSUES: Battery life and back panel heat when data is on + bluetooth + watching vids.. after using it, I dont like the feel of the heat on my pocket.. but all in all, performance is great. Might upgrade to S25u on release, but lets see if really worth it from the leaks.
Withall the newer updates, the S22 Ultra is a keeper, just like my trusty Note 10 +. My N10+ 📲 has no service, so it's my EDC for camera, dash cam, voice recording, music, gaming, and a lot more. Can't wait till the S25 Ultra hits the market !
Me too waiting for the s25 ultra.. if the design go to curvy rounded corners. I'm gonna keep this phone or gonna grab the s24 Ultra.. note 10 plus always will be a gem of a Samsung galaxy
I wish I would have not traded mine in fir the S24U. The only downside of the S22U is battery life as the 24's battery life is amazing. I miss the curved screen.
I regret getting rid of my 22u. I got it and after 5 days I thought it was too big so I traded it in. But now I'm using the 24u and prefer the curved glass of the 22u vs the flat screen. The curved screen felt more premium to me because every phone and their momma has a flat screen. I never had accidental touches so that was never a problem.
Exactly why I chose the s22 ultra over the 24! I'm even planning to get the 23 ultra in a few years because I have a bad feeling samsung will stick with flat screens from here on out. Curved screens are just so much more appealing.
I'm using the S22 Ultra, and mine is now on One UI 6.1 and it has not affected the phone negatively. In fact it is better than it was before so you won't, or shouldn't have any issues on your side. It is still fast, and responsive, and the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner still does a great job. Then there is the added features of One UI 6.1 that you do not have on One UI 5.
@buddy-rp5sz I am using the S22 Ultra and it does well for almost anything. It is not the best phone in the world, but it does a very good job. It's cameras are also very good, but obviously not as powerful as the S23 Ultra or the S24 Ultra.
After 2 years, a better battery life would be enough for me to upgrade. I received a lot of feedback from Snapdragon variant owners that the battery life isn't great. Sometimes, it doesn't last them more than a day. Not to mention the heating issues. 8 gen 1 isn't a good flagship SoC, honestly. I was going to buy this 2nd hand but settled for the A55 at a similar price (312$). It's perfectly good enough for my needs. And it can manage 2-day battery life sometimes. S24U prices haven't gone down much in my country, but I'd trade 1-day battery life for 3-day battery life any day easily.
DO NOT DO IT!! please just get the S23+ or S23u. i had the s22u as an “upgrade” from the 13pm and it was such a downgrade. worse battery, way worse chipsets, camera is mid and software support won’t last that much longer. i used to upgrade every year but now its just pointless. my daily drivers are the S23+ and iphone 14pm and both are amazing. don’t get the S22U when the S23+ isn’t much more at the min.
@@Stncedr1gethe s23 ultra is a better phone to get by far over the s22 ultra coming from the iPhone 13 Pro Max plus the battery and geekbench scores are almost identical

After several updates battery life is still not great, but its noticeably better. I got 2 to 3 hours max playing games at medium settings and the heating is absurd, scrolling social media and RUclips last me for like 5-6 hours. Hi everyone, I have been using my S22 Ultra for more than two years. A few days ago, I checked the battery status on Samsung diagnostics, and it shows that the battery status is weak and needs to be replaced. My question is, has anyone had their battery replaced? If so, who did you use to change the battery? By the way, I'm in the UK. Thank you.
Hi greetings, i have this phone since its release and i have to say it still keep it up pretty good with the new one's in terms of camera and speeds, but the battery life is just miserable since I'm heavy user i charge mine twice a day almost everyday, the heat is very noticeable too everytime i use it outside since i live in a tropical island.
The display on the s22 ultra is every bit as good as the s24 ultra if not better because it's curved everything about this phone screams flagship even in fall 2024 I absolutely love this phone still I've had it since day one when it came out and I have the iPhone 15 also but this phone is just it's a legendary flagship that'll be good for another two or three years
Yeah I absolutely love it I may end up upgrading to the 25 alter next year too maybe but I might hold out for the 26th because this thing is just so good my girlfriend has the 24 ultra and when I put it side by side with this I challenge people to tell me which one's supposed to be the newer one you can't really tell which ones the most updated they look identical for the most part on the display and if anything the s22 sometimes looks more advanced because of the curve display and the average person would think it's the more expensive phone even though they were both the same price pretty much when they came out this is just a legendary flagship and it stood the test of time it's still functions exactly the same as it did the day I got it
S23 Ultra is still too expensive for me to get, and the 1TB model is kind of rare, and of course, way more expensive. I need the 1TB to make room for my music, pictures, and videos that I kept on an SD card in my S10 (which still works and is a great phone). Right now, on the 22 Ultra theres almost 300GB of content from the previous phone (that's already almost 30% of the 1TB storage), so there's no way in hell 512GB is enough storage for me, especially because that's the same place where every app i download and every picture i take is gonna go. The battery is kind of meh, but it's at least great enough that i dont even use power saving mode, which sadly doesn't seem to do too much anyway in my experience. I definitely prefer curved displays over flat ones, never had any kind of issue with them, and it looks WAY more premium than a flat rectangle. Even the back curves are gone on the 24 Ultra, and of course, the regular and plus models just look like iPhones anyways, so it's gonna be the 23 Ultra next. I'll be honest, the temptation to buy the 23 Ultra right now and keep both of them is really strong, but that'd be foolish of me to do.
Depends on the chipset. I haven't seen that bad if an experience but surely the power and efficiency is waay too good in the S24 ultra if you're unhappy with the S22 ultra in battery and performance
I haven't had any issues with my battery performance especially since the last Android Software update to Android 14 and I have had this phone for close to two years now.
Depends on the chipset. It's bad compared to s24 ultra. But it's not poor in my case at all. Still almost 6 hrs SOT under heavy usage. Maybe below 15% I won't be as confident as I'm on my other phone
