Pixel finally caught up to iphone video quality especially from the front. Im impressed with what google has done
Pixel was the first one to take photos in the dark, whacchu talkin' bout? Iphone is bad photos good processing... Their raw has always been trash
Was this a joke???? Pixel be trashhh
No it hasn't. You must be biased.
@@berryvolcano3787 all this is subjective it's my opinion so clearly you're biased but enjoy your day
Did you watch a different video? Have a look again on the rollercoaster.😂😂😂 I'm a guy who has a pixel 8 pro.
I own a Pixel 9 Pro XL and the only thing I liked from the iPhone in this video is the smoother transitions in slow motion videos. Pixel is way better overall. I'm glad I made the right decision.
im not an iphone user, but did you even watched left part of video? Starting from 2:24 Pixel does awul job capturing objects on video, it just smudges it. Not to mention whole video has blue tint. 5:15 photo is flat, with a white haze on top. Pixels selfie video in lowlight is awful this year, everyone admits it when you see "rain" on a video without having an actual rain :/ Heck even my older samsung does it better
@@TheDezmen3 Yeah there are a few hiccups here and there that need software updates.
@@TheDezmen3do you even know how tech works? Do you?
@@TheDezmen3 4K/30 SELFIE Google Pixel 9 Pro is the clear winner.... 4:21 Iphone background is a mess.
picture wise i would pic the Pixel most of the time... in therms of video i would pic the Iphone most of the time.
but overall Google is catching up... you can't go wrong with both devices. (it's just a matter of preference)
pixel more natural my view
Thank you! Sometimes Pixel sometimes iPhone. You win with both of them
Well, I'm glad I've not been tempted by 16 Pro Max, fell for the hype last year with the 15 Pro Max and was disappointed with the camera. Pixel 9 Pro XL by a mile, I had the S24 Ultra and sent it back due to inconsistent photos, bought the 9 Pro XL no regrets! Great video! 😊❤ UK
how's the performance? does it overheating? how's the battery??
@@karljuan8908 battery is good, overheating no
Pixel should win the phone of the year award
I've bought a iPhone 16 Pro Max for £1399 day 1, after a week or so , issue with my phone, no stock apple asked me to get full refund on return. Disappointed, then I got a good upgrade deal on pixel 9 pro XL trade-in in half the price of it with my pixel 8 pro and got a pixel buds 2 pro free ... Substantially worth it, ignore the benchmarks, for real world usage, pixel is far superior than iPhone. . Over the time it's gonna improve,....
@@sasi_4395 well said and I agree with you 100%
Honestly the pixel won and the iPhone front facing video was so bad to me
Agree
I also agree 👍
Iphone’s front cameras suck. It’s same by the time 11 released. Nothing changed
Pixel output is amazing
Pixel in some cases, iphone in some cases. I mostly liked the pixel though. Was especially impressed with the video
😂
Wow, now I will wait 3-4 months for Pixel prices to calm down and will buy one confidently
I'm watching this with my S23U. To be really honest, both are good as 16's low light has stepped up, and for pixel 9, the low light video is also getting better. I'm so excited because I'm getting the pixel 10 in the future.
im tentatively planning to jump back to pixel from my iPhone. Im excited to see that google will have the G5 made by the best ( TSMC) instead of samsungs garbo foundry. IT should improve everything on pixel phones!
Pixel👑 - photo and video 👑
Yes
Both are great , 50/50 for both.
I used 16 pro max for 2 days. Gone back to my 9pro XL. While 16pm video is beter especially lense transition, for pictures and selfie picture i prefer pixel 9pro xl. Also really enjoying pixel android OS. Im so over apple, it felt like a toy, returning tomorrow
Prolly gonna do this as well to my 15
@@nauvalmuhammad3619 Give it a try. It took a while to get used to android but on pixel the clean stock android is great. Now I'm used to it, when I tried the iPhone 16pm for 2 days the OS felt like I was using a toy. Sent the iPhone back and sticking with the pixel it's an amazing all round phone. Just shame about the lens transition in videos.
Why is the selfie video on iphone overly bright??
@@Jo5ue1 fr
Bagroun is better on pixel
12mp on the 16, 42mp on the 9
Pixel has Pan video mode for crisp slow mo videos which no one talks about 😭
Yes 🎉
PIXEL IS MAGIC
Pixel 9pro!
Pixel is way much better than iphone, not only for photos but also for videos especially from selfie and telephoto!
Sorry to see the rain ruin your Cedar Point trip. We were just there last Thursday and it was awesome. At least you got to have some fun with your technology during the bad weather!
It was a light drizzle, so not bad at all. It actually made for a good day since there were no lines for any of the rides.
The winner is obvious: the consumers. Both phones took great photos in certain conditions. The low light photos had MUCH better exposure with the Pixel. Dynamic range was overall better on the Pixel as well with more detail showing in the darker areas of the photos. To my eye, the iPhone was much better in the daytime photos in most instances, however. Better contrast, sharpness, white balance, and overall color accuracy. The Pixel was good at making the sky blue, but it struggled when the blue sky met up with something with warmer tones such as the beach shots. The beach in the Pixel photos took on more of a blue, cooler tint, while the iPhone seemed to be better able to handle the warm sand of the beach and the cool blue of the sky. How blue was the sky that day in reality? The sky in the iPhone photos looked very gray while the Pixel made it look like a bright blue sky. Considering it was raining at the park just a few hours later, was the sky actually a bit stormy gray like the iPhone captured, or was it really blue like the Pixel captured? The daytime faster-motion videos were definitely better on the iPhone as well. The first video of the roller coaster shows how blurry the Pixel was while the iPhone video was crystal clear. Nighttime video was a different story though. Again, the Pixel shines with better low-light capabilities. When you zoomed in on the low-light photos on both phones, the iPhone seemed to have less noise overall, but also less detail. Probably an over-aggressive noise reduction algorithm smoothing things over a bit too much. The thing that stuck out to me the most was the 48MP main camera on the iPhone always seemed to struggle against the 50MP main camera on the Pixel. The ultrawide and telephoto lenses seemed much better on the iPhone however. And the selfie portrait modes have to go to the iPhone in my opinion. The iPhone was much better at separating you from the backgrounds, making for a more believable bokeh effect, while the Pixel would throw unrealistic blur around the edges of your hat and shoulders.
But again, whether a person is buying the Pixel or the iPhone, I think they're going to get a great camera system. Both phones were great in my opinion. They just excelled at different types of photography while struggled with others. Just a toss up really.
In the video section - iPhone blown out the whole sky.
finally someone analize selfie cams over 1 second..thanks
Apple REALLY needs to improve their white balance and color science.
I used to be an iPhone user then left because Apple forgot how to take a natural true to life photo. Google Pixel for life!
Thanks for the video😊
Really impressive with the front facing camera on the pixel it was consistently better than the iPhone both for selfies and videos day and night
Beautiful family by the way
Why is selfie video so pale in iPhone now?
it depends on the environment
It is in need of a software tweak for sure.
Which one is more true to life? if I had to guess, I would say the pixel, other than that, iphone seem to get the blue sky more natural I think, but everything else, pixel look more true.
One question, did you use video boost on the pixel?
iphone 16 pro over sharpen photos a lot
The video quality in 2x digital crop on the Pixel is awful, and the 25% slow down looks all the time blurry on the Pixel.
The iPhone is overexposing like crazy in some shots and some night shots look terrible like the whole picture has "white fog" on it.
Great comparison video in so many different situations. Sorry it rained during your trip but I think it provided more challenging shots. I have the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and absolutely love it. I thought most of the shots were a coin flip but impressed with the video capture from the Pixel.
Both are great but the iPhone have a yellowish really warm look to most of its pics and videos
Im looking for the bad side of pixel camera since im planning to switch from an iphone 15. Turns out i found
1. The jittery roller coaster passenger vid
2. Video transition when changing lenses
I still dont know whether its bothering me much or no😁
came for the review, stayed for the music.
Is the Sky color that blue as rendered by Pixel phones?
Absolutely in love with pixel 9 pro xl's selfie Cam. Good job Google
A lot of back and forth on this one. It was closer than i thought. The main thing i dont like with the Pixel is the hard transition between main and telephoto and the sharpening effect is too strong in some of these photos. The iPhone has more natural looking photos overall, but sometimes suffer from lack of detail in the shadows.
Why are the pixel image and video so blue? Like it's got blue filter on its lenses
And the iphone have a yellow filter on but still pixel looks more realistic
FWIW, both have recently been released, so we should get a few updates over the next few months. So take these as a work in progress.
Sky in night mode from Pixel is very grainy. Why?
Videos are better on iPhone.
Photos are equally good, but different style.
Happy owner of Pixel 9 XL the only downsides when it comes to me is when you switch from camera lenses it isn't as smooth as on iphones also on slow motion the result is much better on iphone.
Pixel for photos, iphone for video. Although both are pretty close and are trading blows at different scenarios. Overall I prefer Pixel since I take more photos than videos.
Other than slowmo pixel is clearly better in terms of clarity contrast dynamic range and details
@@shadowart3775 yea agreed but Pixel do have other areas which doesn't perform as well like portraits and video. You can see in the video when both cameras are zooming into the rollercoaster, the Pixel was having some trouble focusing on the moving subject creating that motion blur effect. But other than those Pixel is great.
Pixel has work to do on the video. Photos are way ahead tho.
Remember that he did not use Video Boost, with that activated the video of the Pixel will be better than the iPhone in difficult situations. Disadvantage being that it may take an hour or two for it to be ready.
Lovely I love the Pixel 9 Pro XL, but I hope Google fix that skip when zooming in video to make it smooth like the iPhone.
Thanks for the video comparison 🙂
2:39 Starting from this timestamp, pause the video every half or one second. The image on "Pixel" is blurry, while on iPhone it’s clear. iPhone records better video. That’s enough for me to choose iPhone.
Y’all I’m going tbh. From what I see, a lot of you like the Pixel and I don’t hate it. If I were to get an android I would probably go for it. Not that people can’t like what they like, but for me most of the Pixel pics have this bluish tinge over it. Is anyone else at all seeing that? Pixel selfie cam definitely better in most though. Most of the low light pixel pics are better too.
16 pro or pixel 9 pro have fast shutter speed în low Light? Tnks
Wow Truly amazing work.Hope you guys had fun too.Much went into this Beautiful.💯✌️🔥
I'm android user and not interested in switching to Apple yet. However, everyone who has functionable eyes must admit that Iphone is just the king of camera. Its clearly better than the Pixel even though Pixel is doint well too
Not entirely true, the only thing I observe is the skip when you zoom in video and make it smooth like the iPhone, I hope Google fix that. Else the Pixel 9 Pro is a beast!
Im guessing you didnt use video boost on any of the zoom shots because it makes it the best phone out there with that processing.
Video boost was not used in any of the video clips. Everything shown was directly what was captured in-phone.
I do not want my videos to go to Google servers for machine learning. If that was on-device, then Video Boost would be great. At the moment, it is flawed.
@@andyH_England You don't have your videos backed up in the cloud?
@@BasMeijer I use Apple iCloud for storage which has an advanced end to end encryption that only the device you save it with can open it. Therefore is impossible for Apple to see it or for machine learning to scan it. Obviously video boost cannot be encrypted as it needs to be unencrypted to employ the boost.
@@andyH_England That sounds horrible (and unlikely?). I want to access my videos and photos (in a secure way!) on all my devices. That is what I use Google photos for. Also, I need Google to analyze my images so that I can search specific photos/videos easily. And it shouldn't matter from which device I uploaded them.
50/50 . For me.. Thanks
Pixel 9 PRO XL 👍
if you look at video quality, please look at 06:08... but i have to add, you can not adjust 60 fps to 25% because you should never go less than 24 fps, but 60 fps at 25% is 15 fps and just looks like crap
the 5x telephone quality was a big surprised for me with pixel, the boost in quality in terms of still and especially videos is huge.
Nice video, congratulations. Do you think it is worth switching from the Pixel 8 Pro to the Pixel 9 Pro? Which smartphone do you prefer for taking point-and-shoot photos mainly in museums and outdoors of life, monuments and villas in large cities? Thank you.
-in photo the pixel beats the iPhone without a qualm. But in video the iPhone is a notch above. 😂
For real for real...Iphone is still the best at video, photowise i'd give the pixel a hand
Nope
I so much love the Pixel 9 Pro XL, but you're right honestly
From my point a view pixel is better on everything done in the night. iPhone is better on everything done in the day.
Google, photo. Iphone, video (only daylight). A little more contrast in the photos of the pixel would be better.
According to this video
Pixel 9 pro and 16 pro main camera lens are neck to neck. Most of the time I prefer the iphone. But the ultra wide and telephoto pixel is the clear winner.
As a long time pixel fan i know one think:
When i take a shot with my pixel 7 pro and compare it to friends iphone 15 Max, the faces are a joy to watch on the Iphone, and on the Pixel is just sad sad and sad.
I would never buy pixel if you wanna take important photos such as family or people photos.
Trust me i've spent so much time going through nexus 6p to all the latest pixels, The nexus 6p had the best color reproduction till date.
Iphone burns everything (the sky, the floor etc..)
and when will there be material about good induction welders
Fairly tight comparison but coming from someone whos is waiting to upgrade from Pixel 7 Pro to the 9 Pro XL I think that I scored it somthing like 30 to 25 in the iphone 16 Pro's favour. iphone had better video in most areas, more natural bokeh and detail in a lot of shots. Preferred most of the Pixel selfie shots, even though I rarely take selfies myself the wider angle and better lense might make things a little easier and encourage me to take more. The ip[hone has the changing between different lenses on video nailed. There was definitely some cross over in this video though where the Pixel won shots/videos that you would usually expect the iphone to come out on top and vice versa.
If my 9 Pro XL is not delivered today then I will be going out and trying to buy my first ever iphone so I am definitely not an Apple fan.
I'm confused between these two. Which one to choose 16 pro or pixel 9 pro?
the iPhone looks so much better in every shot!
the Pixel is way ahead of the iPhone in terms of photography but video, tho it has come a long way, is still hit or miss. Google needs to rework their noise reduction algorithm, it is pretty bad. They also need to fix stabilization. Finally, they need to fix that weird thing they do to faces when the background is brighter.
There's no denying that the iPhone still knocks things out of the park with regards to the video. The slow motion footage is extremely jarring with the Pixel. I prefer the default photos of the Pixel though and prefer Android UI better.
Iphone video quality far better than the pixel. Video is too dark on the pixel. The iPhone images look more natural and the pixel is over saturated. I'd choose the iPhone. (I'm an android user currently)
The photo quality of both options is similar, though it may come down to personal preference. If these were the two options I was considering, I wouldn't solely base my purchase decision on photos. It's impressive how Apple has caught up with Google's algorithms in just three years. It took some time, but now it seems that it's more challenging for Google to make another big leap, so its rivals are now on the same level.
It's hard to choose. The iPhone did better in the video category and low light, but the Pixel beat the iPhone in some cases too.
I still do prefer Pixel image by far, but man this generation iPhone is not entirely embarrassing ... seems like a noticeable step forward compared to iPhone 15s camera.
that phone that replicates natural lifelike images 😍
IPhone 16 < Pixel 9 with the Video boost
Iphone 16 > Pixel 9 without video boost
apple log > video boost
Pixel 9 Pro me sorprendió 😮 no esperaba que me gustara más su cámara 🎥
so in most cases the pixel is superior to the iPhone, even in video except that they still haven't solved the transition problems between the different zooms we see the change while the iPhone is fluid and of course the 120 fps mode for better slow motion. Otherwise for me the big winner is still the pixel for photos and the selfie camera.
Google's camera system is a hot mess. Their HDR processing is overcooked, shadows are overly lifted, and there's still a ton of noise in daylight. It's clear they're focusing too much on software and need to invest in better hardware, like a bigger and higher-quality sensor.
Why the iphone so bright?
pixel is generally better with still photography and has gotten closer to iPhone in video. But iPhone remains kind in video always, I hope to see it change with the pixel 10 !
Both smartphones take very good photos. I can't say which device is better.
Hmm there is a change. Until last year (pixel 8/iphone 15) the Pixel was always the clear winner in daytime photos but this year I see a massive change. The iPhone 16 is clearly way ahead in every single instance up to 8 mins in the video. Details, colour reproduction, all just much better than the Pixel 9. In dark the Pixel won in some cases, but overall the iPhone 16 is the absolute clear winner here, by a good margin too. Good job Apple.
I am a pixel 8 user btw.
Pixel camera most of the the time! I can now take picture of my ragdoll cat face on low light 😂
iphone is much better tbh. though Pixel’s front camera is waay better, I still prefer iPhone natural colors in the rear camera, it’s so much more sharper, natural, and nicely vibrant. The pixel’s video and photos looks too washed out, dark, and softer compared to how sharp and detailed the iPhone’s photos are. I’ve watched multiple Camera test and same story.
I might get the pixel tho just for the front camera, beautiful design, and overall a newer experience
iPhone is more natural. But, man, what’s happening with the sky??!
Why does everything on the Pixel looks like it has a ND filter on it?
Thank you. That’s what I was thinking. Not that people can’t like what they like.
@@glenrankin7512 I thought I was crazy, haven't seen anyone talking about it.
Pixel absolutely
They both really good i see no difference both great
Very nice ❤❤
The Pixel has processing issues in low-light. The photos look abysmal with a ton on noise and that processed look. iPhone looks a lot cleaner, more polished.
thanks for the comparision video
can you make a camera comparon video of iphone 16 vs pixel 9
I love Pixel phones overall but i hate ( 4:23 ) that in selfie mode the pixel tend to make the skin greyish and make the eyes dark. its looks like in a zombie apocalypse.
Saying i love the pixel phones then doing on to say something untrue and bashing towards them , i see the psychology you used there
Pixel tone is perfect for IG
Pixel shined on this comparison
Should have tried standard 12mp shots with pixel
Pixel is the next iphone
Wow well done google. Defo got the edge over iphone there. ❤
For videos iPhone maybe. For photos Pixel definitely.
Pixel could be my top pick if they improved their low-quality processor. A 6-year-old iPhone 12 chip is beating the Pixel 9 Pro XL... that's just sad...💀
The Google Pixel wins by little in general, it would be great if you would have put a test of the video Boost
video wise iphone is still the best!
That pixel is killing it
One thing is sure there is no clear winner here, sometimes one device makes better pictures sometimes the other, all depends on conditions and camera algorithm :)
besides smartphone is much more than just a camera, what about those other aspects?
