Much closer this year. I preferred Pixel for Photos and iPhone was slightly better in video except in slo mo where it was noticeably better. Also that Pixel 8k video boost really impressed me. Hoping it eventually becomes an on-device processing feature soon. It's good to see Android video actually improving in quality and not just numbers.
Your vídeos are epic so well executed and professionally done. Both great phones. But I have a Pixel 9 PRO XL and just love it. Besides the fantastic cameras it has also unreal fantastic AI. Please keep your videos and will pick up a Sahara case..awesome quality. Thanks
I'm glad you liked the comparison! We really appreciate the support! And don’t forget to use the promo code too! Indeed, both phones have great cameras-it’s amazing to have such high quality in a small, portable device these days.
Thank you so much! Hearing that it stands out, even compared to large following channels, really means a lot. I’m thrilled you enjoyed the comparison, and welcome to the channel!
I've watched your videos before. I feel like this is the most extensive one yet. Great video and visuals. Who are you lol. The scene is like a movie. This looks like a set from Westworld or something.
Thank you so much; I truly appreciate it! The location was great, and I'd love to film there one day with an Arri and a full cinematic approach. I dial back that style quite a bit for these reviews, but I suppose a bit of it still comes through. :)
This was such an epic comparison video, thank you so much! I’ve been watching comparisons & reviews all day, and getting very overwhelmed. I happened upon yours and now my mind is clear again. Amazing work!
I absolutely loved every shot you showed in this video. I could watch it just for the calming, soothing vibe it gave me. The scenery, the subjects-everything looked so dreamy. It’s hands down the best, most relaxing comparison between these two phones, and a total visual treat. 8:55
First of all it is one of the best reviews I've ever seen about these two phones. I am using a pixel 9 pro XL and I am really impressed in one yard how many upgrades we have from the 8 pro. Thank you so much.
What a great video!! I am impressed by both cameraphones but tempted by the P9PROXL since I always used Android phones. Don't really feel the need to switch to Iphone but that also does a great camera-job! I enjoyed watching this video a lot, can't wait to see more coming from your channel... Thanks!!
Absolutely the best video I've found when it comes to comparing these two. We can't overlook how amazing these shots were. I thought I was watching a movie for a second! Impressive. Thank you for this. Definitely confirms the Pixel 9XL appears to beat out the iPhone in most photo scenarios. Video will seem to always go to iPhone.
Out of the countless comparisons I've seen, this is the first one I'd consider really useful - thanks for making it. Both phones have strengths and weaknesses, in the end you can not go wrong with either one. I've owned Iphones since they first came out with the original Iphone, this year I decided to go with the Pixel 9 Pro XL, and so far I love it. I still prefer the Apple ecosystem to Google, so I might go back to Apple if they come up with some compelling features, but so far I find the AI features on the Pixel very, very useful. Oh, please make a really good lens protector for the Pixel 9 series - there isn't one that doesn't cause issues with the telephoto lens - plenty of people would like to buy that:)
Thank you! I’m glad you found this comparison genuinely useful. Both the iPhone and Pixel 9 Pro XL bring great strengths, so it’s awesome to hear you’re enjoying the Pixel’s AI features! And I totally get the pull of the Apple ecosystem. Also, great point on the lens protector! Thanks for watching!
Stellar reviews of both. I own both and will likely default to the Pixel. Could you do a Night Astro side by side ? Thank you- you're helping everyone decide which platform they like without any bias! Well Done!!
Superb review and comparison. I have been following comparisons between phones for a long time and I wanted to buy my pixel 9 pro xl for a better battery compared to the 9 pro. But I waited until the iPhone 16 pro max. I didn't like this phone either and I especially hate the button that confuses more than it helps the owners. I've never had an iPhone before and I don't know if I can get used to Ios. What phone do you recommend with a good camera, good software and a good battery? Thank you.
Thank you so much for the support! I'm glad you found the review helpful. I didn't find that button on the iPhone bothersome at all, and I think you’d be quite happy with the phone-it’s excellent in many ways. Since both phones have great cameras, I’d suggest looking at the software and seeing which one you might prefer. Cheers!
@Saharacase That's the problem because I've only had android so far and I don't know if ios sticks to my heart. That's why I thought you'd give me a hint which phone is better. Thank you very much
Man forget the side by side. These were some stunning pictures. But i likebthe fact that it had a number of different scenarios/ scenes such as cloud cover, fog, reflections on the water, sunset/ sunrise to that really captures how the phone renders colors shadows and tone. Much appreciated.
Thank you! When it comes to capturing true-to-life colors, it’s a close call. I might give a slight edge to the Pixel 9 Pro XL-but it does tend to lean a bit magenta, while the 16 Pro Max shifts slightly green, which can be flattering for skin tones. Appreciate you watching!
Thanks for the great review! I'm having a hard time deciding. I love the image quality of the Pixel, but the video quality on the iPhone is fantastic too. I hope Google can improve stabilization for Pixel videos through a firmware update, especially when zooming in, as the iPhone offers a better zooming experience.
Cool comparison! Seems like for photos, both phones seem pretty evenly matched in terms of performance. The Pixel definitely has the better 5x lens/sensor, though. For video, the iPhone still dominates. The Pixel looks improved, but I did notice darker parts of the frame showing a fair bit of noise - other comparisons I've seen where they test low-light video definitely showed this trend as well. The output of the 8k video boost seemed a bit inconsistent to me. Sometimes it looked kind of over-sharpened and harsh to me, other times it did a great job.
I'm glad you found the comparison helpful, and I agree with your points. The 8K can sometimes over-process, so it would be great to see them implement a more robust codec directly on phone hardware. Overall, though, Google is definitely making some great strides! Thanks for watching.
I am looking for a secondary camera for when I don't have my dslr. Which phone do you recommend that I buy as I still can't decide which is best. I want the camera that has the highest image quality , best low light performance, best raw photo performance etc. I also like doing astrophotography so I don't know which is best for that. Whichever phone also has the better battery life. I sometimes don't like the processing on the pixel. I don't care about the operating system or anything just which has the best camera performance. Which phone has the better camera?
Thank you for the support and sub! When it comes to recommendations, it's a close call! If photos are the main focus, the Pixel has a zoom and macro advantage I think, but in RAW format, the iPhone tends to be slightly easier to edit, with a better-balanced starting image. For video, both perform well, but for professional work like commercials, I would go with the 16 Pro Max. Hope that helps!
The comparison and especially the theme was really good. If you were to choose one point & shoot camera which was more true to life, would it be the iPhone or the Pixel?
This is by far the best comparison I've ever seen! And the scenery, oh my God, I felt I was in a movie! So from what I saw both phones have outstanding cameras. But all your subjects were still or moving very slowly. Which phone do you think performs best with fast moving subjects? I want a new phone mostly to take pictures of my daughter (a 18mo who just won't stay still for a second). Which do you recommend?
Thank you so much for the kind words; I’m glad you enjoyed it! When it comes to fast-moving subjects like children, I found the 16 Pro Max to be very quick with focusing and capturing shots. Both performed great overall, but the 16 Pro Max might have a slight edge in that department.
I own a pixel and iPhone ( not the devices featured in this video ) i don't like how my pixel does its post processing. I see an image on my display, which looks great, press the capture button and then Google's processing spoils the photo . The processing overides the EV slider adjustments too. What i see on my iPhone display is the image i get . My iPhone EV slider also has numbered steps on it and all the controls sre more polished!
Hi, I've a pixel too, and maybe you already tried it but you can disable the ultra HDR and rich color in the advance setting of the camera (you open the camera then in the left side you have the setting buton, click there, go to more setting, and then advance setting. disable the ultra HDR and rich color setting and check if it changes something). for me, it shows know the same photo from the display to the image I get. Hope it changes anything for you
Same here i used to get some over edited images like skin tones and some orange and red colours were popping up .. and i was wondering what's wrong but it was just a camera bug that got resolved in next update approximately 2 weeks later but now i always use raw mode whenever I'm taking some serious photos and saved some presets to Direct paste them and then make changes according to image and lightning now the photos does look great because i just love how pixel Handels those colours and hdr in raw it is very fun and amazing to edit them they look coooool tbh @@mohamedtaghzou2392
Great video, I have the same Pixel and an iPhone 15 PM. I've been comparing photos and videos, Pixel wins by far in photography. In video there is a debate but I will give it to the iPhone for the better color balance, the performance on 60 fps which can be used with HDR too and all the Pro capabilities. I think Pixel will need a powerful chip to handle video as the iPhone and I am sure in the future it could happen. For now I'm happy with the performance of the Pixel, very detailed and sharper than the iPhone in some video shots. It just needs some corrections on the colors and night video, hopefully an update can help. I am also tempted to try the X200 Pro but I think I will wait for the Ultra model.
I appreciate you sharing your detailed experience and insights! It's great to see you're happy with the Pixel's performance! Indeed, I also think the addition of a more robust video codec would help too. Thank you for watching!
Its amazing how much pixel has improved on the video! Its the same high level as the iPhone and bearing in mind how much Pixel was behind a few models back. Foto's always great in Pixel, iphone is ok with foto's too, but I usually prefer the colors of the Pixel. And the 5x zoom is much better on Pixel. Thx for this comparison, Greetz from Holland 🙏
Lovely review. I am mainly interested in strong Signal quality and good photo quality, both during the day and night. Which of these two do you recommend? I am not intetested in post processing/ shooting in RAW. I just need something with good photography out of the box. Thanks and cheers from Sri Lanka
That's a great question! Both offer excellent signal and photo quality, even without RAW. In this testing, many of the photos were in JPEG format, and the results were incredibly close-almost a tie with standard primary camera, other than the different color tones. I preferred the portrait mode on the 16 Pro Max, but for zoom and macro shots, I leaned toward the Pixel 9 Pro XL. I hope that helps.
@@Saharacase Thank you for the prompt response. Here in Sri Lanka the Iphone 16 pro max is around USD 498 more than the Pixel 9 pro Xl and S 24 Ultra with the same capacity. Btw how is the 9 pro Xl when compared to the S 24 Ultra in terms of Photo quality? Cheers
Great presentation, man! And nice shots. Both phones are consistently INaccurate with the white balance. The Pixel is going for magenta and the iPhone is going in the opposite direction. If I were to pick a poison, I'd go with the warmer colours of the iPhone (because of skin colours), but at that price I would expect far more accuracy and subtleness in trying to create a "look". That said, testing the raw capabilities of a phone camera seem pointless as I think that anyone serious enough about his pictures to shoot raw is very likely to use a camera, not a phone. Plus, the final look of the raw files depends so much on the software used to process them that it can no longer be attributed to the respective phone.
Well I had the iPhone 15 pro but now I’ve ordered the Pixel 9 Pro XL. 😬 aside from camera I feel the pixel has an amazing UI as well. We shall see if I switch back or if I keep pixel as my main.
I like the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max much more. Many criticize it for the lack of AI (in many countries like Europe) and for the camera control, but in terms of colors, the photos and videos of the iPhone seem to come out of Photoshop-style programs. Less real? Definitely. However, I find that they are more pleasing to the eye, to look at. The Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL are aesthetically beautiful and well built. I recognize that they capture a lot of details in photos and videos, but compared to the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, the quality seems flatter and with colors tending more towards cold than warm.
Never iPhone for me for it's inaccuracies in colors - blue would looked greyish or tealish, white would appear light brownish... something reviewers and enthusiast were always hesitant to speak about. For people who love capturing the skies, seas and anything else with white like the furs of an animal, iPhone is a no go
I understand that it may not be to everyone's taste and that the Pixel isn't a "true to life" photography-capturing phone but that's part of the reason why I like their cameras so much. Samsung does a yellow tint (to my eyes at least) that I dislike - and I have had a Samsung S23 Ultra literally since it came out and I take plenty of photos so I know their image processing; whilst iPhone tends to look more often than not green-ish and sometimes even cold blue, but I do understand the iPhone tends to be more true to life. Pixel tends to push towards the magenta I guess, but that added to the enhanced contrast makes their photos pop out in a natural, not over done way. That being said, sometimes Samsung and iPhone really nail it, a good example of that would be that photo of the horse by the tree. The Pixel did well, but the iPhone nailed it. And to finish, I am extremely impressed with the RAW images out of the Pixel. Getting mine tomorrow, I think I did well.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Each phone definitely has its own character, and I agree-the Pixel’s colors and contrast feel more naturally balanced without that overly processed look. Enjoy your new Pixel, and thanks for watching!
Probably one of the best mobile phone comparison presentations I've seen so far. Good luck on your channel

I always chose the Pixel, wow!
Pixel 9 Pro XL is really impressive, indeed.
Pixel images look amazing with the raw setting enabled. Great Review!

Great comparison! I'm glad I have the 9 Pro XL, and that I wasn't tempted by the 16 Pro Max this year. 👍🏻
Good choice! Thank you for watching!

Glad it was helpful! Thank you for the support!
Thank you for the shots and videos pro ... We realy apreciate how much effort that you made
Thank you, really appreciate the support my friend.

I find Pixel's videos and photos more natural and appealing, it feels more cinematic except OIS. Nice comparison brother👌👌
Thank you! Each year, the Pixel phone continues to make remarkable strides in image quality. I'm genuinely impressed with the Pixel 9 Pro XL!
Has to be the best mobile camera Comparison ever made. where's the location tho? it looks breathtaking

Great comparison. There are a lot of differences in capturing colors. Which one is closer to reality?

I totally agree! Thank you for watching and the support!

Thank you for the prompt response.
Thank you, my friend! Indeed, your conclusion is spot on with what I found in testing. I appreciate you watching and supporting!
I always chose the iPhone, wow!
that log profile for mobile is gold
Both are pretty impressive. Neck to neck performance.
Well I had the iPhone 15 pro but now I’ve ordered the Pixel 9 Pro XL. 😬 aside from camera I feel the pixel has an amazing UI as well. We shall see if I switch back or if I keep pixel as my main.
Absolutely, the Pixel 9 Pro XL has a nice UI, and the screen quality is stellar. Enjoy your new phone, and thanks for watching!
I always prefer Pixel's pictures and videos. iPhone is lackluster compared with Pixel.
Amazing 🎉
Thank you!
I would to know if one this phonr can record in 4k HDR raw that would be interesting cause I notice that the use the IA too when record videos 😅
Crisp content 👌
Thank you, sure appreciate it!
is the RAW in iPhone ProRaw ?
Indeed, 48mp ProRAW.
RAW is RAW, for some reason Apple feels the need to add pro before RAW
@@marksouthwell4490 apple pro raw is actually kinda processed by apple not pure raw
Never iPhone for me for it's inaccuracies in colors - blue would looked greyish or tealish, white would appear light brownish... something reviewers and enthusiast were always hesitant to speak about. For people who love capturing the skies, seas and anything else with white like the furs of an animal, iPhone is a no go
The Pixel is Simply Amazing 😍 🔥
It’s truly a standout phone for photography. Google did great!
The Pixel's color rendering is unmatched!
