In your glove box, GREAT, but too big to drop in your back pocket. -- me, I carry both. A FULL size in the glove box, and an AR and a back up 9 with my 'get home bag' in the trunk. Though, the .32 is a little light. I Sometimes carry mine, but usually I pack a Sig 938 Or the kimber micro 9.
Noooooooo. Don't let people know about how amazing these little things are. I haven't replaced mine that got stolen out of my truck a few months back. I need these to stay under the radar.
I have a .22 bobcat and just love it. You do have to experiment with the ammo to get a reliable option. It won't feed everything well, but when you find the right ammo it does very well. Safety tip! If the tip up bbl. Is loaded you have to manually remove it from the bbl. There is no extractor so racking the slide won't remove it. You must use the tip up feature. God bless all here.
Ohh! This is what my wife was talking about when she asked me for a pocket rocket! She said she needs it for when I'm away! This will absolutely do the trick to protect her when I can't be around.
I have a non threaded 3032 in the Inox (California), she is a very accurate little pistol. My only complaint is the ejected shells go straight up and at your face.
It is a special feature that may save your life IF the bad guy get to the gun, after they get the first shot off You have the opportunity to get out of there, when they are confused by being hit in the face.
The issue with the frame cracking in the 32 is ammo related. Beretta even addressed it in the manual. If I recall correctly, the euro 32 is hotter than American made 32. The Tomcat has to use the lighter powered 32 ammo to prevent it I do love the tip ups. I use my 21a as a pocket gun daily.
Hey, Brother! I have a 3032 Tomcat covert as my EDC pocket carry. Yes, without the can, a round in the barrel goes flying out of that thing when you flick the switch. The Beretta 86 was the last .380 ACP tip-up. I would also love to see them bring .380 ACP tip up back, or even 9mm.
I got a cheap used 21A in .22, then went on eBay and bought a barrel and slide for the old .25acp 21A. Threw them together and now I got a .25 Beretta.
One thing I like about the tip ups is that you can use it as a single shot if you want to. Try some .22 Shorts in the .22LR version some time. Single load only obviously, not in the mag.
The 21A is an awesome little Beretta. My father purchased one in 1985 and I used it all through high school to run my trapline. Funny you mentioned that use during your video.
I have many pistols but carry my 21 a the most it shreds through an 2x4 at 12 yds and loves Federal Champion 36-40 grain perfect function. I carry this more than anything and I agree with the Massad.
I have had a 21 bobcat for 27 years. Last year I decided I wanted a pocket pistol with more punch. I bought a smith and Wesson crimson trace 380 body guard and hated it. I shot several other pocket types and ended up buying the same tomcat you have. Nothing I shot felt as natural in hand and was anywhere near as accurate. This is my gym shorts summertime dog walking piece. Great for shooting a critter inches from your dog
I actually HAVE a suppressed Minx, had Tornado tech do it on a second barrel (so I have both the target length and threaded short length). It actually works surprisingly well and seems a bit cleaner than .22lr. Plus the backpressure aids in ejection.
If I had to carry a .22LR for ccw, this would be the pistol I’d choose. I put 50-100 rounds through my 21a every range session and I know it is reliable enough to bet my life on.
I bought the Taurus nock off version of this pistol. Reliable. Definitely just a close range gun with hard to see, non-adjustable, fixed sights. I have taken pistols on the trap line to dispatch and used this pistol in .22 on a bobcat. Because pistols are hard to actually hunt with, I normally take a .22 rifle to dispatch so I am also in hunting mode for target animals of opportunity. Except for grips, this gun was all metal, so not a light pistol for its size, but fits in pocket very easily, but always recommend at least a pocket friction holster to protect your leg from rubbing friction and of course to reduce printing.
Eric - I have a lot of tip-ups from 22short to 32acp from Beretta and Taurus and love them ~ BUT - They have no extractors so you can’t rack the slide a few times and think it’s unloaded. It isn’t and I have never had a round “flip” out by tipping the barrel. But they are a ton of fun.
I had a 3032 Inox I bought a few years back. Unfortunately the frame cracked (as I would later find out is quite common on these models) and I ended up selling it. Cool gun, but it needs a redesign or it needs to be built using better materials to ensure the frame doesn't break.
The Mossad, Israel’s CIA, used Beretta Model 71s in 22 lr with great effect. Not a tip-up design, but a very reliable SAO pistol. Was also used by their sky marshals. 9 Hole Reviews has a great video on the 71.
I have a 21a covert. With a suppressor I find it easier to just use the top of the suppressor to aim with it. The grips are nice as well. It's a tiny gun that feels much bigger than it actually is.
PSA usually has some 32 acp in stock. They currently have the 3032 and 21A on sale. I wanted the 3032 but ordered the 21a instead because of the cheaper ammo. I'm ready to have some range fun with that plinker.
I have a 3032. It's one of the few Berettas on the Kaliforniastan handgun roster. Women friends like it because (at 100lb) they can't get any of my 9mm to cycle. I get 32 ACP ammo from Red River Reloading. They specialize in obscure ammo. They even stock 28 ga. shot shells. And, they are one of the few companies that will ship to Kaliforniastan.
picked up that exact 3032 bobcat about 6 mo. ago. was packing around a taurus .38 special revolver but switched to the .32 as my carry. people say that round is anemic but i’ll tell ya, .32 will get the job done. gotta be careful on what ammo you run is those too. keep the pressure under a certain p.s.i.
I am not sure about shooting any thing but flow through cans with the platform. I have heard a couple of stories about slides cracking while suppressed. That aside i love my tomcat.
I have owned a 21A for about40 years. Just picked up the Kale Slushie version to shoot suppressed, shoot all day for pennies on ammo. But they are like mopeds fun you just don't want your friends to see you shoot them. lol
I've seen inserts that allow shooting .32 acp ammo though a mosin nagant 7.62x54r barrel. I wonder if a .30 cal suppressor would work on this pistol? PROBABLY with a 5/8x 24 adapter
I believe the ammo used at 10:38 has a muzzle energy of 160 ft/lbs. I understand Beretta indicates to never use ammo that exceeds muzzle energy of 130 ft/lbs for the Tomcat 3032.
Cool tools, but imo, they need to be updated. For a "get-off-me" gun, they meet the basic understanding. The sights are one area as you mention. I think they could make them both a little thinner. EAA just released a .380 in the same basic design. Looks interesting.
I think I was 10 yrs old and a friend of my step-dad I had at the time had a .25 or .22lr Tomcat ( pretty sure it was .25) and I remember shooting and sinking beer cans in the old cow pond. I know bad for the environment and possible ricochet but didn't know that then .
Looking back on it I wish I had picked up the 3032 Tomcat honestly. I picked up the 21A but I’d rather have the 3032 I think because centerfire is more reliable than rimfire.
I'd love for Beretta to revive the 71/Jaguar in .22 and give it the same treatment the 80X/Cheetah just recently got in terms of modernization, but that'd probably cannibalize the 21A Covert sales they're getting from all the different cerakote permutations they have now. That's the one to talk to the Israelis about.
I really like shooting and carrying my Tomcat. Many people scoff at the caliber and the ammo capacity, but I'd dare someone to name me a pocket gun in 380 that is easier to hit on target during a magazine dump. Something like the Glock 42 or SIG P365 in 380 probably come close, but they aren't exactly what I'd call "pocket size." Since I actually enjoy shooting the Tomcat, I actually practice with it, and that's probably the most important thing of all. Quick and accurate hits from a smaller bullet trump slow misses from a larger one.
In our country a handgun must have at least a 3 inch barrel, so if they stretch those with threaded barrels being a 3inch then they could sell a ton of them.
YES! Beretta DOES (DID) make a 380 tip-up! It's called the Model 86 and why do you not have one?!? Actually I just checked and found that Beretta made the Model 86 only from 1991-2004. However, in 2023, EAA Girsan released a clone of the Model 86 but instead of the old single-stack magazine it uses a Model 84 double-stack magazine and has an accessory rail. And it does have better (taller) sights. It appears they dropped it, too, as it's not listed on their website, BUT if you go to EAA's website and click on Girsan it shows it. Weird. It would be cool if they came out with the Model 86 in 30 Super Carry.
I own quite a few Berettas, and also have the 21a Covert… but mine won’t hit the right side of a barn at 7 yards!! Hmmmm maybe I need to put a can on it, or just keep looking for ammo that it likes.
21A--- owned this model in blued with wood grips gun, it could not handle heavy or even moderate use, there was a part in the trigger housing that broke and could not force the trigger back to fire in double action or single action.......i had the part replaced., then sold it.....i bought it new in the 1980 's at a cost of $189.00.......it was not cheap......it never jamed, just broke down.... Reply
Love me some Beretta but they need to figure out how to make these open top slides skinnier. They're fatter than ideal. 1951 slide on a 92 with a 4 inch would be amazing!
I absolutely love my 21! Yeah the sights suck but it is absolutely natural to point of aim 15 yards and closer. You know good point of aim if you can close your eyes, bring it up to target, and see how on target it is. Same with the sig p365 but sadly my Glock 43 is not that way but can put great night sights on
Interesting timing, I was just out shooting mine for the first time yesterday. Very nice, when it works, very picky with ammo. And a real pain to clear a malfunction. Edit: well yours just stovepiped - for some reason my firing pin hits the top of the rim and it gets real stuck in there. I had to take a stick through the barrel to clear it a few times.
Howdy. You seem like you know quite a bit about these pistols. I just bought a new (From Buds) 3032. It does have a threaded barrel but I have no suppressors (yet). Question 1: Are these frames still cracking? Question 2: what is your most reliable ammo? I’ve only shot Federal Ball type 71 gr and there are failure to feed events (Which leads me to my next question) Question 3: Failure to Feed. At the range; the round chambered in the barrel fires of course but the next one won’t feed so I have to pull back on the slide. This happens regardless of magazine used. I saw on RUclips where someone was having the same problem so he clipped the mag spring a bit and polished out the top of the mag. I’ve also polished the feed ramp. I haven’t shot the modified mag yet. If this works, I may modify all my mags and / or pick up some 8 round mags for the 30X and just load 6 rounds. Would love your thoughts on all of these questions. Thanks so much. Gene
I think the "tip up Berettas" are pretty sweet!! And I'm very excited to see EAA Girsan .380 tipup release here soon with a cheaper price tag in a decent size frame of a pistol. Everyone can hate on the new tip up EAA because it's like a Beretta but what isn't a copy now a days anyhow....🤦
I think 32 has a hard time finding a place between 22lr and 380. You almost have to want a gun that happens to be chambered in 32 so you're forced into picking some up.
And as far as I’ve seen it’s just as - if not less effective - than 22. I’ve got some issues that make even a .380 kind of a pain for me if it’s compact so it would be nice if there were something just a tad smaller that caught on.
@@DoctorLazertron Yea. I'm not saying there's no place for 32. Just not in most people's day to day. I know 380s tend to be snappy due to mostly being direct blowback. I'm hoping the 80x will be light shooting.
@@MU-oi1su Oh I meant to say 32 seems to be about as useful or less useful ballistically than 22. Man if there was a 22wmr version of this little guy I’d make that my edc. I’ve never heard of 80x I’ll have to look into that. Edit: Looks nice but where I live I might have problems if I print so it’s still the bobcat for me.
Better to have a 32 in the pocket than a 500SW at home.
Colt pocket hammerless FTW
Excellent for NPE

My wife and I each have a 1958 and 1962 BA model in .25. Such a cool back up
I love the 21A Covert. I have a hostler with an open tip that perfectly fits a Q El Camino mounted on the little 21A.
That would be awesome!

Had a friend bring one to the range and tried it. Fantastic little pistol. NOTE: GIRSAN MC 14T is a .380 tip up coming out this year.
I love old Beretta’s I got a collection of pre-1945 production examples. They’re built great and look even better.
I love the 21a , love a 32acp vs a 380 myself. Beretta & james bond did it for me growing up. Great video 👍👍👍👍👍
The beretta 84bb holds 13 rounds of naturally subsonic .380, suppressed, that thing is a hush puppy lol

Gene
If there were a way to easily collect the shell casings, this would be the ultimate assassins' pistol. If only there were suppressors for revolvers...
A banner day when IV8888 opens the lead mine. LoL
Fun fact: Faxon Firearms makes the barrels for these, both .32 ACP and .22 LR. Beretta won't admit that, though.
Sweet little pocket pistol ❤
Great pocket gun. If you have to shoot a press shot, it will not come out of battery.
Just ordered this Tomcat a few days ago. Any recommendation on suppressor?
A RD plate on the suppressor?
love the tomcat it's badass
I think the "tip up Berettas" are pretty sweet!! And I'm very excited to see EAA Girsan .380 tipup release here soon with a cheaper price tag in a decent size frame of a pistol. Everyone can hate on the new tip up EAA because it's like a Beretta but what isn't a copy now a days anyhow....🤦
Hey Eric, where did you find your .32 ammo for the 3032. And did you get it at a good price.
Had one and sold it because I was broke but now 😭 I miss it
Those would make great James Bond pistols
Beretta is doing a $75 rebate on either of these right now.
Edit: Looks nice but where I live I might have problems if I print so it’s still the bobcat for me.
i miss my old beretta 1935
