Actually 5 years ago I purchased a beautiful blue with wood grips Beretta bobcat in 22 long rifle in mint condition.. I believe it was manufactured in the 1990s.. mine runs best with Remington yellow jacket and viper conical shape bullets.. not one stoppage with the Remington yellow jacket and vipers
Hi It took me a while to work out the ammo but I found that my Beretta 21a Inox works perfectly with CCI MINI MAGS and lubed with Eezox synthetic lube. The weapon is great in the summer for pocket carry.
Thanks for the honest video of this pistol. I picked up the .32 Tomcat not too long ago and liked it so much I got this one too since .22LR is so much cheaper to shoot. Plus, Beretta has a $150 rebate going on with these things right now. I agree, that it is a little choosy about ammo, but mine wasn't a ton of trouble with any I had. I really like these little pistols. I got the Covert models that are blued with the walnut grips. To me they're beautiful and mainly fun (not really thinking about for self-defense).
I was at a gun show last weekend and one seller had every model of 21A and 3032 Tomcat for $499.99 With the $150 rebate from Beretta through the end of October, brings the take home price to $350. Great little pocket or backup pistol.
Not broke-in...stiff springs, yes there's two - one on each side. 500+ rounds, these need to run clean, very little oil, in critical spots. Of course quality ammo.
Lol, "this gun is a AH" Made my morning! Took this exact same one out yesterday yet with a suppressor. F'ing POS was having all sorts of problems. Borrowing it and hoping to get out w/her at least once more before i post my video as currently its all negative.
This is why all my rimfire handguns are revolvers. My little NAA mini revolvers get carried everyday, and my Ruger LCR is carried often. Never a malfunction from any. I had a Beretta 21 some years ago, got tired of keeping the few brands of ammo it liked on hand so I sold it off.
If your having fail to feed issues. It's a magazine problem. Easy fix. Mines run flawless with cci 40gr. Cci highpoint. Stingers. And remmington gold bullets 40gr..no jams after magazine fix
Pop up barrel still requires cocking the hammer on the first shot. Either by double action by cocking the hammer with thumb or by racking the slide. So what is the advantage of a pop up barrel?
It is single/double. You can fire the first shot without the hammer back by just pulling the trigger. The reason is that it is such a short action with a very small surface to pull back, so Beretta decided to use a pop up barrel so you dont have to work the action to load/unload the pistol. It works very well for someone with grip or hand mobility issues.
Keep em clean and oiled.find out what ammo it likes =fun and reliable. Had mine 20 years without a problem. Unless I run Remington thunderbolt rounds. Then it jams.I DO NOT carry it. Just a fun plinker.
I do have arthritis, and I thought that pistol you're holding felt great and I like the build quality, so I put one on layaway. I note that mixup98 loves his but that it is notably brand sensitive with ammo. And I have found that Winchester and Remington .22 ammo is pretty poor, even in my single action Rugers. I expect I'll have to do a pretty thorough vetting of ammo, buy that's the fun part.
They sell these with threaded barrels in jersey. But suppresser is not legal. 😂😂. I wanted the standard steel anyway. I use win superx and cci mini mags. Its is a fun pew pew and like the gentleman said. (Its a beretta) 🤘❤️🇺🇸

I’ve found my baretta likes high power 22s . I usually use cci stingers and don’t have a problem
CCI ammo is recommended by manufacturer
I was fondling one of these in 32 acp the other day. I've been thinking about it.
Not broke-in...stiff springs, yes there's two - one on each side. 500+ rounds, these need to run clean, very little oil, in critical spots. Of course quality ammo.
Thanks for the video; you just saved me over $500.

Me two, magazines are the problem total shit. Selling mine total crap, won't fire 2 in a row
Very nice little gun. I like the threaded barrel.
Seeing these for 399 with MIR bringing it to 250 right now. IDK, may have to get one. I have plenty of HV 22.
Mine runs cci hollow points… runs great . Put some Florescent green paint on front sight… shoots hole for hole at 10 yards
I still have this, it shoots fine as long as its high pressure rounds, I have it suppressed in case of fat raccoons in my trash again.
the 21a does indeed like the hot stuff. Also keep in mind .22 rimfire cartriges are not always 100% reliable. Thanks for the Vid, great info!

This is a valid reason, by nature all semi auto 22s are never 100% reliable.
I got a BobCat for Xmas. And it is a $500+ AH too.
My model 21A only runs CCI mini mags
Seems a good idea to run some gun oil through them out the box which will help with bullet feed.
I use stingers in mine. It works very nice.
Dare I say the Beretta 21A is.. gun shy when the camera is on?
Indeed it is
Love the video Brother.
Thank you very much

Lmao @ "This guns an asshole!"

I had the same problem with one in 22 short made in Italy, that I owned 35 years ago

I would agree with that. I still have it a few years later and use high pressure 22s and it performs fine, its just picky.
CCI Mini mags are the answer.
Can threaded barrel be removed?
CCI Mini Mags work great.
I just bought one, I keep it loaded with cci minimag hollowpoints
Good choice.
For the range or small rodents?
Essas pistola elas servem pra defesa
$200 for that exact pistol at buds with a rebate 12 4 23
That is a good deal on this pistol.

I am glad I was able to help you with your purchase, I hope you fine tune the ammo and get her running like a clock.
Winchester superx
CCI no problem at all
Good video, thanks for sharing, God bless 'n I'll sub on my way out... 🤠
Thank you kindly
Useless gun. Smh 🤦♂️. In Chicago having a gun jam is your life. Great video
I thought guns were outlawed by the left in Chicago?
Yet you imply that one should carry one. Interesting.
Its not legal in california because its too lethal…lol
Nothing like showing a gun and it fails. Not one to have confidence in.

6 in the mag. 1 in the barrel 7 is to much
Correct
Yes Correct
Ban assault weapons
Same issues with mine - totally unreliable - Stingers don't work better - rounds stick in the chamber and do not eject proper -
Its odd, mine works fine as long as I am shooting it suppressed, but you should not need to increase the backpressure on a factory pistol.

Some guys use Hight velocity ammo for this little gun, they say it's more reliable
Unreliable - Do Not Buy
My is very reliable
