I had one back in 1987 when I was 16 yrs old. I lived just outside of Ottawa Ontario back then. There were quite a few Ladas in those days. I’m not sure about today though. It was a reliable car and I loved the freedom it gave me as a young man. Thanks for posting this video.

What a beauty! Lol
I gotta say I had one in medical school in Jordan (1978-2001) it was 1978 model and my dad’s car and he gave it to me. I used to park it away from where my colleagues used to park they all had nice new cars and I was kinda embarrassed by how loud and old it was! I was an idiot I guess haha. I am currently in US and have a 458 Ferrari in addition to 2 other cars I would love to add this back to my collection
Thank you bro for warm words, please enjoy ruclips.net/video/1l2Iikx4d6Q/видео.html ruclips.net/video/PTWsj3epYQI/видео.html

You're very glad of having this. It was a popular car in Bangladesh during the 70's and 80's.
Thank you for sharing this, it is good to know
This BA3 2106 is in amazing condition, I love Lada cars, my first car was a BA3 2107, or Lada Riva 1300SL as it was called here in the UK, I had various Lada models over the years including a Niva and a Samara, until sadly Lada’s were withdrawn from the UK market due to emission regulations in 1997, I have very fond memories of my Lada’s, and miss them to this day!!.
Nice! Comment, thank you! Welcome to see these as well ruclips.net/video/1l2Iikx4d6Q/видео.html ruclips.net/video/PTWsj3epYQI/видео.html

For several years starting around 1980, these were very popular in Canada
Yeah, annd stupid narrow minded political freedom fighters killed the car by not letting the cars park in parking lots or fill their tanks with gas..
Everyone that owned one had to rebage their cars to Fiat 124's, otherwise they were pretty good simple to fix cars at that time that never had a chance to flourish.
@@ricardomierz8467 Yeah, no. This did not actually happen. Two of my friends bought new Ladas and both were fairly happy with their purchase. What eventually killed Lada sales and the sales of all Eastern block cars and bikes in Canada was 1) the inability to evolve to meet changing consumer expectations, by 1990 most people wanted the option of having an automatic gearbox and AC and 2) increasingly stringent safety and emissions standards. A reputation for poor build quality and poor reliability didn't help. Keep in mind that cheap used cars from Japan didn't require constant tinkering to keep running well. For most people a used Toyota was simply a more rational choice than a new Lada. Lada did try to import the more modern fwd Samara, but it turned out to be a seriously poorly built turd of a car. In a sense, it's too bad Lada could never up their game because the Niva, for example, could have been a huge success in Canada, as it was and continues to be elsewhere, if only it had been better built, better rust-proofed, and more reliable.
@@CaptHollister Yeah, yes it DID happen as I've said.. I dont know where you are from but I was there when all of this happend... There are even pictures on the net to prove my point.
Russia at that time was in Afganistan, and everything and anything that Comunist Russia did was bad which was directly reflected on the Lada cars.. The quality issues were outweighed by the sensless constant vandalism, no gas for Ladas, no parking for Ladas, the Fiat re-badging to help hide the Lada on the street, drive constantly in fear, would you put up with all that just because you have a Russian built car?.. Nope, and so did everyone else and the Lada venture died in Canada.
All of the Lada cars were being dumped by their owners through the local for sale chanels, they were bought up by people from the FSU, the cars were then stripped for ALL parts including the shells, containerized and shiped back to the FSU.
They did have quality issues ( mainly mechanical ) and problems with part supplies and dealing with our society where the Russians wanted prepaid orders for parts or up front cash, every repair shop or anyone for that matter could sell them as long as you had a buisness license.
Get your facts strait before you chalenge peoples real facts and replace your own misguided thoughts.
@@ricardomierz8467 Look, I don't know where you live, but I'm in Montreal and I was there, too. This didn't happen. Yes, there was an idiotic business owner who refused parking to Ladas (apparently, he believed this somehow hurt the Soviet Union), but an isolated incident does not make it a trend. And taking about used Ladas being shipped back to the FSU is completely besides the point as it was a worldwide phenomenon spurred on by post-Soviet Russians being starved for cheap cars and reimporting as many Ladas as they could, including rhd ones from the UK.
@@CaptHollister Your an idiot, and French too.
Nádhera. Krásný kus.👍 Opečovávaný mazlík.
That is one gorgeous car

Love road trip videos. specially ones around people's communities. stupid, simple even, but its cool to be sitting at home eating chips, sucking back a beer or a coke and travel.
Enjoy. Thanks for positive thoughts!
This car was in East Germany one of the dream cars #1. After 15 years waiting period.

i had this car for a long time in Iraq, in one point i installed AC on it lol the engine couldn't put up with it.
I think you had to replace the Compressor with a more powerful one.
@@petzouqi76 no, i had 2 problems, first 1.5L carburetor engine is too weak for any compressor, second problem is the water radiator bay is too small to put a big enough condenser radiator.
I miss so bad my dads old Vaz we had it too

my vaz 2106. motor 1.6 was 1980 year. i sold 2000 year after 20 year. 300.000 km. I love this car. I bought it 9100 russian rubley. in 1980 year december. in that time this car was superrrrr. In CCCP vaz 2106 was number 1 car in 1980 year.
Sweet. Image link? Upload here postimages.org/
One big problem this car has is the small size radiator for the hot weather for the middle and south of Iraq, over 50c under the shed!.
Because I think it’s was that there was lots of cold weather in the USSR, they didn’t need to worry about a lot of cooling.
Tahle auta nebyla stavěna na horké podnebí, naopak, skvěle snášela velký mráz, bez problémů startovala i v - 30 stupních.
How did you get this car?.. Dealer?..
What happend to this car?.. Did you sell it
one thing i just remembered, i replaced the electrical fan with a mechanic one that run on the water pump pulley, it turned out that engine temp can go hire a little bit when it's on idle, but it goes down lower when driving fast, engine temp was a problem for this car in Iraq.
Iraq is to hot to live in - both for ppl and for cars ))
I always feel my breath away everytime i see a Lada in the most ideologically hostile place on Earth )))

Hi. I have a car similar to this one. Its name is VAZ-21063. There are some differences with your car. For example, the other name is Lada-1300SL (I guess because the engine is 011. So 1300cc ), the back of the headlights is black.
Yes you are correct.
These cars are was made to stay in ussr, and many of them go on export, to Europe, and also to Cuba as well.
These are, you are totally right they are different
if this is all original, why is it not warn out? finding a car like this in this shape would be a find of a life time! except for custom grinding and custom exhaust pipes, 3 speed transmission, maybe 4 disc brakes, I do not see much work is needed for a city boogy machine. I do not know much about the Soviet government, but some of their products (and some Soviet girls) where the best!
Good question.
These type of cars usually obtained from post Soviet countries. This one is comes from Lithonia, people's out there held cars in nice shape, and almost not driven.
Another cases, back on USSR on money shortage time recession for instance, instead of paying workers does like 6 months of premium they gave away products These workers build. Many of witch ether to old, or never obtained driver license.
@@goasfarasyoucansee if i had the money to travel to some of these places and grab a couple of old ladas. well that and an old soviet army truck.
My grandfather in Yemen have one colored yellow , but it ain't work anymore :(
It getting hard to get parts now as well, lot of Lada and parts left in Cuba Enjoy ruclips.net/video/1l2Iikx4d6Q/видео.html ruclips.net/video/PTWsj3epYQI/видео.html

But. The hazard lights are still working?
How did you get that car to America?
Is this car came from Bulgaria ?
Yes you got it, also was inside Bulgarian Driver Documents
Do you still keep the car? It will be nice to show more about it
@@zvqra_0059 We do not. It goes to great hands of Armenia family in mid us. They haul her and another one - Clinton's white Zaporozhets.
& you didn't use a left turn signal
after he opened the hood, what did he push down, on the passanger side of the engine compartment?
This is low voltage high amperage breaker that made is USSR to cut power. Or power on.
@@goasfarasyoucansee sounds like something the military would have had on their trucks. how much do you know about the Lada engine and drive train? was wondering if there is anything that can be done to it to increase performance (just stock and not for racing)

@@goasfarasyoucansee Thank you.
Do you mind if I ask you where did you import the car from ? As far as I see it has a Bulgarian, green insurance sticker on the windscreen, as well as an MOT silver sticker below it.
Every EU country's insurance stickers looks this way.
He says it was imported to Estonia but it's bullshit, cuz Estonia wasn't Independent throughout the time this model was in production.
But yeah all things concidered this car it's probably from Bulgaria or Romania.
@@kirillkrugliakov1463Although the lad didn't reply me, I am 100% sure that it's from Bulgaria, as my car had absolutely the same insurance and MOT stickers on when I was living there. Actually no, not every EU country has the same insurance stickers... There are a lot of EU countries in which you don't have stickers at all. The car is absolutely fabilous ! Cheers mate :)
Thats a classic piece and well preserved. But still, $11,499.00 hmmm way not.
Here in Russia we can actually buy it here from 350 to 1000$ depending on condition of car at all. That was my first car when i was younger and had no money its pretty cool i would say its dat good as it costs. Btw after driving this car every other car feels really easy to drive and comfortoble :)
Gammel Undergang good conditions Ladas in our Russian market are cost $4000+ ! And you know it! :)) I bought mine for 4000 too.
@@jwserge I found a running one for $290 but it was in very poor shape.
@@TheCarDemotic Of course, $290 - it means very poor condition, no wonder... And yes, it can be drivable! For you it can be wondering... Here we use Ladas until the wheels not cast apart )))
But i told about GOOD condition Ladas.
But why there's no have any horn button?
The hor button is entire part on the middle of steering wheel
