- A brilliant weekend away at York Rowntree Park Caravan and Motorhome Club site in January 2022 in our Elddis CV Campervan.
This is the first of a two part vlog, the second published next week focuses more on York City rather than the campsite.
A lovely site near the River Ouse. You can go for a walk along the riverside into fields, wander 10-15 mins into York City Centre or a few minutes from the site to a row of local shops.

Hi Rachel and David. Thanks for a great vlog on one our favourite places - York. We usually get there at least once each year, and normally use the Beechwood Grange CAMC site, so we can dump the car and use the Park@n@Ride to get into the city. Super review of the site too. @@LeisureBit Hi Rachel and David. Beechwood Grange is worth a visit. ParknRide isn't really walkable, but is only 5 mins from the site, with plenty of free parking, shopping and fuel, so quite convenient, especially for those of us ancient enough to have a bus pass ! Cheers. George and Trish

A great review of the site and we too thoroughly enjoyed ourselves only a couple of weeks ago. I also enjoyed the early morning and late night walks along the river with the dog. Thanks for taking the time to share 👌

Not the prettiest of sites, but excellent for those beer drinking nights away in York and staggering back to the van :-) We will defo go one day as we love York. Did you notice if many pubs were dog friendly ??
It’s very convenient for walking the dog and going into York, a lot of the pubs were very busy, I managed to find one for a quiet pint outside near the waterfront (think it was called the Waterfront lol) - lots of the restaurants in the area seemed to have dogs in all be it didn’t take Roxy in on this occasion but certainly some, not sure about city centre ones though. Hi Gill, on this visit we didn’t get chance to go to the museum, time seemed to fly by but we do have another trip back to Rowntree Park planned for later in the year so will try and go then. Wow, that’s really special and congratulations on 30 years. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Prefer York Beechwood. This site looks like a Car Park.
