    Looked like a nice tidy little site. The shop looked good. Graham would love a nose around that lock! River bus looks like a nice thing to do. Roxy loves the water so much bless her. The walk looked great as well. Big dog field. Good to know that sometimes it floods. 👍😊

    Hi David and Rachel thank you for such a lovely video as ever and so informative looks a lovely area to get away from it all and great to have the option of the water bus to York so you can enjoy a trip without driving if you so wish

    Looked a decent little site, unbelievable how high the water could go but the Ouse is a big flooding river!

    • @LeisureBit
      @LeisureBit  Год назад +1

      Yes it was a nice little site - you’re right on the water it’s hard to imagine in the summer that it could get so high, apparently the vans at the back of the site would have been underwater in February (even the high roof ones) near where the little bridge was to the dog walk.
      Thanks for the comment, have a great week, David & Rachel 👍

    Lovely area around there, we stayed at York Marina and had a walk around to Naburn and Naburn Lock, and we got lost as well on that path 🙂 The Blacksmiths Arms is lovely, food and portions were very nice. The Waterfront at York Marina is lovely as well, well worth a visit, a bit expensive i thought though, but will defo be going back 🙂 Awesome drone footage as well, great job 🙂 All the best, Debz, Trev and Tyler

      Thank you ❤️ we looked at York Marina as we had seen yours - for some reason I thought it was the one opposite Rowntree Park but we went past it. George from the CV Owners group recommended Naburn Lock so we thought we would give it a try - nice area.
      Hope all is going well with Dougie II 🙌

    lovely looking site with a great shop. The walks looked great too and always nice to see Roxy have a paddle. Locks and the engineering is quiet fascinating really as with a lot of older traditional engineering. The power in the water and amazed that Roxy isn't bothered and happily walks over the lock gates !!. Nice idea for the boat trip to York too. Love the mugs btw

      Thanks Tim. It had a really great feel to the site and must go back and get the river boat into York, think that would be good fun. Yes she seems to be quite sensible, a couple of times she went to look over the edge but seemed to sense danger. Surprising as sometimes things do frighten her but she was ok with the bridge.

    If you enjoy canals and locks. We go on a regular basis to Eye Kettleby Lakes and from there we go to Foxton Locks. A wonderful spot on the canal junction with great pubs to sit in and do a spot of gongoozling. You may have been of course?

      Thank you - I think you could we saw some people with paddle boards on the site heading for the water, not sure if you need a river and canal trust permit but looks like it would be a great paddle up towards York (or downstream) - all the best, David & Rachel 👍

    Looked a decent little site, unbelievable how high the water can go but £38 a night, no wonder they had space. Someone one the CV group said a relative had paid nearly £100 for 2 nights in a tent with no electricity at Bala. . Hoping to either wild camp or use C&CC CL's when we get the van. Love a canal walk and the history around them. Have a good week. Cheers K.

      I think sites in York seem to command a premium, it was the cheapest one we could find at last minute believe it or not. In contrast, we stayed at a £10/night CS this weekend so it averages out not too bad.
      £100 for 2 nights for a tent without electric sounds an awful lot - crikey.
      Was nice to have a look around as we hadn’t been to that area before and the lock was interesting given how long ago it was constructed.
      The water level it could get upto was surreal.
      All the very best, David & Rachel 👍

      We stay at their sister site at Stockton lane, being going for six years, however have reduced the number of visits due to the cost. Just got home today after three nights there at £119.00..they are metering the electric from next year putting three pound on the nightly for electric which is in with the price upto now, they say extra electric can be purchased on site…going to about £50 a night plus the possibility of having to buy more electric😔😔😔

    Hi David, another great VLOG! Just 3 more days to go before we collect the van. I recall some time ago you put up a VLOG regarding the installation of a head up display unit that plugs into the ODB port. When we were in Cairns we hired a Mazda for 7 days and this, in addition to the dashboard, used a head up display unit. I found it very useful indeed. Has yours continued to be useful? Good afternoon - not long to go now - how exciting. The heads up display for me has been so handy as you can easily see the speed without having to look down and readjust myself being tall - one of the best things I fitted and would hate to be without it and it’s worked all the way through and not had any issues with it so far. Quite reasonable price too!
      All the very best, David 👍

    Another superb video thanks, can I ask where abouts the missus was next to the river with pooch on 5:00 and approximately how many minutes walk from the site was it? Thank you.

    • @LeisureBit
      @LeisureBit  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Mark thanks for your kind comments. I reckon it was just over 5 minutes from the site. You went out the back of the site, to the little cafe and turn right and it’s about 2 mins down the river bank.
      You know Roxy she can sniff water out! 😂😂
      Cheers Rachel & David
