This country is my namesake....my parents named me after this country. I grew up being ridiculed, and teased because of my beautifully unique name here in the USA but my parents were civil activists for Black African Americans.I grew up learning soooo much and I even teach younger kids who have this name the incredibly rich strong history of resilience and independence as it continues in Kenya. When westerners say we are starving in Africa, I always laugh. There is abundance of food here. The problem is 60% of the food get expired due to logistics issues before getting to the market. Once we have good roads and rail facilities then there would be an agricultural revolution in Africa. We would be able to practically feed the world. Another issue is that the West subsidize their farmers heavily so most african products except the exotic ones cannot compete on the international market. But slowly but sure we will get there.
I remember Nelson Mandela way back saying Africans need COMMUNICATION , all need mobile-phones to sell and distribute produce and resist political propoganda control . It is happening . Good future for Africans . I'm a white Australian .
