      Personally, in the 19 years between the Prequels and the Originals, I see no good reason why the shift from Venator to Imperial-class couldn't be a smooth and gradual change. 19 years isn't that long. In reality, the oldest warship in the world that is still seeing active service is the USS Constitution; serving in the United States Navy, and launched over 220 years ago.
      The Arleigh Burke-class Destroyer is the most common class of destroyer in the US Navy in active service today, 67 have been launched since 1988, 6 are still being built, and 4 more are on order to be built. The last Arleigh Burke Destroyer is expected to launch in 2031. That means that they'll still be building these things after 40 years of service, and it won't be until then that they won't start to be phased out by newer classes like the Zumwalt.

    When talking about the Purge Troopers you could've added how the Purge troopers used the Paratrooper/Airborne armor from the clone army

    • @mitchellhayward6492
      @mitchellhayward6492 4 года назад +5

      I like to think that throughout the Imperial era, some specialised forces continued to wear the same armour that was worn in the Clone Wars. For example: Paratrooper armour stayed the same from the Clone Wars until the fall of the Empire, and the same goes for BARC troopers, Clone/Imperial commandos, Senate guards/commandos, stealth pilots. And perhaps the uniform worn by ARC-170 pilots could have continued to see use by Imperial pilots - depending on the kind of fighters they piloted. That gear looks bad-ass in black.
      Obviously, the Purge Troopers continued to wear armour very identical - if not the same - to the Paratrooper. We know that Palpatine's Red Guards had the same look from the start of the Clone Wars right up to his death of the Death Star II, that the Phase II Galactic Marines/Snowtroopers/Flametroopers wore very similar armour between both eras. And then we have the Phase II Scout troopers, who look very similar to the Imperial scouts.

      @@rexthakum6685 I've noticed that the marines have a bit of extra armour from Snowtroopers. I just meant that in a broad sense. What I mean is that it would be a cool if Snowtroopers, marines, and Flame troopers - as different units - all retain the same general look they had. There are other minor differences too - like the difference between the Clone and Imperial scout trooper helmet. But they're almost unnoticeable if you don't play Battlefront II.

    A little geeky rant here. I love the military evolution of star wars (until the sequel trilogy) Before the clone wars planets had to defend themselves with fighters and small cruisers. They didnt have the resources to make and maintain capital ships. This ideology was used in the clone wars. The republic and CIS navy is based off this mindset. It used retrofitted civilian ships, consular, cr90, lukrehulk, munificent and created ships to support a fighter dominated warfare, venator and providence. The republic through the development and use of victory class and probably prototype ISDs found out heavier, stronger ships were more effective in a conventional war. So with the trasition into an empire, with this mindset, they built more and more ISDs. But to have hands on control of the galaxy ISDs were too expensive and resourse intensive. (Even the republic couldn't patrol the entire galaxy) That's were the tarkin doctrine comes in. Control the galaxy through fear. But the tarkin doctire military was ineffective against rebels who use hit and run tactics.
    This evolution is amazing because you can see the military evolve. As the audience we can nitpick and see why this and that could've been done better, but within the lore, the military evolves using it's own history. The empire didnt know of the rebel threat when it created its military. It only had the clone wars to look to for guidance. A war that could've been prevented/won earlier if it had a heavier hand and stronger ships. Therefore the empire created the tarkin doctire and ISDs

      James Jung I think it even continues in the new trilogy with a focus on lean and mean instead of expensive and ineffective Imperial Star Destroyers. The Resurgents seem to be like mobile space stations and the Supremacy definitely is.

    • @jamesjung8931
      @jamesjung8931 4 года назад +8

      @@thecobaltemperor Definitely. The resurgent is imo the only good ship in the new trilogy. The supremacy is also pretty cool. But the sequels still fall flat in this. Im going from least problematic to most.
      Mon cala ships look exactly the same. That's ok but its boring.
      Tie fighters have been upgraded but still look the same. Now in the clone wars we see evolution in starfighter design. From the z 95 to the arc 170 and v19 to the eta2/v wing starfighter. The arc170 evolution was scrapped because big heavy starfighter weren't effective against the swarm tactics of the CIS. That is why the empire went with the v wing and to the tie fighter line. Now the new tie fighters have shields, hyperdrives, and more but they look the same. In order to power these upgrades they need more wings like a tie defender. Plus some variety would look nice.
      Mandator lV.... it is stupid. It looks stupid and the design doesnt make sense. For example all the point defense guns are on the dorsal side. Like what's preventing them from being on the ventral as well? And the "point defense guns" are the size of a heavy turbolasers. They cant even get the sizes right.
      Starfortress... I'm a slow, armorless bomber that needs gravity to drop bombs. Enough said.
      I didnt watch episode 9 but what I heard about the ships in it so far is terrible.

    • @purpleemerald5299
      @purpleemerald5299 4 года назад +12

      hey Beter You have to remember something very important:
      Clone troopers were replicas of a fearsome bounty hunter who were born and raised to fight in a galaxy-spanning war between two massive military powers for four years straight without any life outside of combat.
      Stormtroopers were conscripted civilians processed into a military police force with the seemingly mundane task of maintaining fear and order throughout a galaxy already imprisoned by the Empire’s absolute authority.
      One was literally engineered to fight _tens of billions_ (I’m not making that up) of mass produced droids in an all-out war. The other was thrown together over time to prevent internal conflicts and uprisings after already having the government’s military budget pushed beyond it’s limits in a previous war.
      It’s pretty obvious which troopers are going to get the better armour and weaponry. Comparing clone troopers to storm troopers has always been unfair anyways. It’s basically like comparing a police officer who recently joined the force to a marine who was literally raised from birth to fight in a war.

    Almost all Clon Wars vehicles should've been still used. Instead of discarded. It should be like this: Venators should've kept their role as they were intended to be carriers. Protected by anti starfighter ships and Imperial Star Destroyers, Acclamtors the same way troop carriers used to deploy on the front lines or do the same thing as his brother Acclamator 2 and its Imperial cousin as battleships if needed. V19 fighters as scout ships with the TIE fighters, V wings as interceptors and for fighting the A wing also use some upgraded ones that serve as Imperial Royal Guard starfighters for escorting the emperor sometimes like the red TIE interceptor. ARC 170 as special forces squadrons. Y wings still in service especially the one with bubble turret. LAATs along with the cargo variant for deploying troops with the cargo one deploying AT TE's but modified ones with better armor and weaponry serving as anti infantry and armored enemy vehicles fighting alongside AT ST. Also the gunships providing air support. The Nu class shuttle as a special forces ship for storm commandos or Shadow troopers. A new type of imperial vehicle with tracks like modern day tanks even though one appeared in Rogue one but it was a cargo one. Juggernauts like they said here. It would've been better if they used a lot of them on Hoth instead of some few and just AT AT's. Now for the troopers; they could've give them better training like the one that storm commandos, shadow troopers and Death troopers received. Give them Mandalorian training Sergeants training them in correct ways to hunt jedi like the Purge troopers also how to fight monsters and all mandalorians are hunters they fought everything. Still use clone armor and leave the Imperial one as spec ops but modified and better. That way the empire would've succeded but noo Tarkin decided to make bigger things with scary appearances on his doctrine with poor functions. Also Palpatine for discarding the clones and hiring people and not giving them proper training.

      That is true in Legends, but I'm not sure it's been canonized. **And don't start hating Disney canon. Everything has its own flaws, even legends. And I tended to like legends more. That said, Canon did give me my favorite ship: the Gozanti!**

    • @darthdystopian4550
      @darthdystopian4550 4 года назад +1

      @@KellingtonDorkswafer Technically the Gozanti was first introduced in The Phantom Menace as a cargo ship, and the first militarized version we see is used by the CIS in The Clone Wars which was actually considered legends for a while before it was canonized.

    Fun fact: west Germany did use the FAL before the G3 (it was called the G1 in their use), the other rifle is an STG-140, these were prototypes with limited use (the east german counterpart to the G11) my favorite fun fact is that the G36 is designed to use slightly modified AK pattern bayonets because they had a massive stock of them laying around after reunification

    • @hansmeyer7225

    As much as I do like the Clone Turbo Tank but it understand it can’t be used for main frontline use due to how much of a pain in the ass it could be to maintain. I do like the Purge Troopers in a way since they use the DC-15a & the last time we saw the DC-15 blaster rifles used was by Judder Page during the Yuzohng War. The Arquitens is still one of my favorite ships & like how it got used during the GCW.

    The Y-85 Titan was recanonized in the new Complete Locations book, they just had to alter the description to make it not appear at the Battle of Hoth. Because of the Gozanti-reference. Then again, the same book kept descriptions of "troop carriers and landing barges" on the Hoth map page, so, meh?

    One other variant of the Juggernaut from Empire at War is the B5 but its a much smaller down grade of the H6. Also I think Juggernauts combined with AT-ATs would be terrify sight when facing the empire lol.
    if the Juggernauts could talk. I am sure the H6 would say your a fucking disgrace to the smaller B5. Then the B5 just has depressed look lmao.

  • @Neptune-or4vm

    Must be hard for the legs and drivers/pilots of the At-Ats to be dropped like this, I mean it‘s always like..i don’t know...5-20m above the ground?Everything in the at at must be magnetized to its belly ground so I doesn’t jump around or am I wrong?:o

    You should talk about the E-5 blaster rifle, the standard issue blaster for B1 battle droids. If there were billions or trillions of B1s made, it stands to reason just as many if not more E-5 blasters were made. It is the AK-47 of star wars and it would make sense the rebel alliance would use them. Unfortunately, I don't think George considered this when making the OT, as the idea of the B1s and their E-5s hadn't been thought of yet.
