(I thought it was also on Gamecube) I'm not sure about superior, it definitely had a lot of interesting enemy types and other locations (though at the expense of not letting you fight actual stormtroopers till MAYBE the deathstar level) but the 360/PS3/PC version had some great AI and physics.

@@DIEGhostfish I rather like how Starkiller or Galen is sent to the ruined jedi temple to go take the Jedi Knight trials. It sorta goes into setting him up as this hybrid Jedi Sith. Also makes much more sense that Kota went into hiding on Nar Shaada instead of Bespin. Lore wise, you could hardly pick a better planet to disappear. This version just seems the way it was always supposed to go. I think if the 360/ps3/PC versions were the same but adapted and improved upon as was capable on those platforms, it would've had a solid shot of being the greatest Star Wars game of all time.

@@grievouslytired7886 Eh Nar Shadaa would be a good place to disappear... For a Jedi who wasn't just last seen hurtling down towards Nar Shadaa. I feel like Bespin's also a good place since the Figg family paid the empire big bucks to mostly leave the Anoat and Javin sectors to them. (And there were other issues like the Mugaari and just generally being out of the way, after all the Rebels considered Hoth safe enough and it's just a system or two over.) Level structure to me is Nar Shadaa mission from the PS2 leads to whoever smuggled him offworld and starts the trail that leads to Bespin.

I like to think to could travel through hyperspace to patrol a greater area and the crew space had minimal facilities but still bunks galley etc. Probably alot of equipment too. There are many vehicles/ships from SWs that I would want IRL and the MAAT is one of them. Compact but still a respectable tribute to its predecessor. Personally though I think the U-Wing is still the optimal transport / fighter, aside from maybe that one weird imperial dropship from Battlefront 2 (2005). Dont underestimate the value of having a rear gun.

I do feel the stealth gunship crashing due to weather and needing to be scuttled was a reference to the real world event when a stealth blackhawk was downed due to bad conditions in the Osama raid. Nice little detail there

VAAT/E showed up first in the Bounty Hunter game, in text form in the Republic Commando novels/short stories, and also showed up fairly late in the lifespan of Star Wars Galaxies where players were contracted to fly them and blow up abandoned player housing that was cluttering the map.

Another fun fact by John Goodson’s Featurette, the LAAT/i’s doors serves as airbrakes for the gunship. In Attack of the Clones (movie), you can see the doors moving as airbrakes.

The MI 24 hind was a amazing attack helicopter that thing had a auto cannon, rocket pods and missiles it could also deploy I believe 8 to 10 troops into battle. So Imagine this thing flying in fireing rockets and missiles obliterating ground units then deploying troops on the ground then providing close air support for the troops. It’s easy to see the inspiration for the Star Wars gunship

The funny thing is that the Hind rarely utilize it's crew compartment for transport, prefer to let the MI 8 Hip do the transporting.
Although I heard that mercenary pilots do use the space to store extra fuel and ammo.

I was 11-12 years old when I watched attack of the clones for the first time and those gunships were a child me wet dream- weapons EVERYWHERE. Cannons, missiles, turrets. Same with seeing Slave 1 in action.
Prequels are garbage movies but man, in areas like starship design they didn't go cheap and safe, they took a lot of creative risks and it paid off beautifully.

this makes me wonder was there ever a thought of making a version of the LAAT that also had features from the droid gunship & atte that could handle battle in space & ground while also being able to hold on the ground or move around quickly as needed?

I can't believe you didn't even show the LAAT Gunship that the ARC Troopers used when they saved those Jedi from Grievous! It has the coolest paintjob lol. The blue and red with the scary lookin face painted on the front of the ship! Fordo was the best haha Tigershark paintjob? I can't remember

I think you forgot the the two used by the Muunilist Ten.
First was an ARC variant with a different wing design and was shot down over Muunilist, the other was the Sharkmouth LAAT from when they kicked Grievous's mechanical butt...

  • @Krooow118

I'm very sceptical that a standard LAAT could carry 30 soldiers. It seems it's a little small for that. I've also been confused on why Star Wars transports always have everyone standing in the transport bay. It's hard enough to stand on a moving bus or train. Imagine the impossibility of several troops remain standing while their transport is moving and maneuvering at combat speed.
