While this was an interesting topic and amazing vid, there was something big in this weeks episode that I feel was ignored and it happened with Omega. While she's always been empathetic and more optimistic than the other batch members you could chalk that all down to child naivety, this episode however firmly planted her as a future rebel which is massive considering how Hunter's goal has been to keep out of the empire's way as best he/they could.
Actually the episode explained why this mine ownership is as described uncommon. The mine was for Techno-union which Makko obtained after the war. My guess is that with the defeat of CIS and its capitulation many remote and small scale mining and industrial operations were halted and the people in charge just left it. An episode on investing in the SW galaxy would be interesting... is there some kind of stock market equivalent? Can you buy shares in mining operations, shipbuilding, etc? If so, what happens when something like the Republic becoming an empire happens?
I think it's much more efficient to mine asteroids than planets, because not only do they exist in abundance in every solar system, you don't have to destroy their ecosystem.

Fighting off each other like the Americans when they realised the value of uranium in the 50's and everyone was out hunting for it! Would be amazing to see an episode on the ships, droids and type of mining specifically in a mini series of this. Would be super cool!
Hatred and greed are the perfect fuels to the cycle of violence and war. And not even an army of droids, clones, Jedi can do anything to stop such things. Heck, they even played a part in it.
My understanding was the mines on that world were running so scarce organised exploitation by corporations was abandoned along with the miners shipped in when automated extraction became too dangerous/unprofitable and their children are who we saw working the mines. They moved to collective bargaining through Makko who acted as an intermediary with the corporation who previously ran business as they were happy to buy but not extract.

Given the explosive nature of what they were mining in TBB, it makes sense to have a small, low-tech team... why pay for fancy equipment if it's likely to get blown up?
Interstellar trade of metals in SW makes sense when considering how the setting is home to a lot weird and rare exotics and materials that makes the Galaxy's advanced technology work. As opposed to real life where we know that the asteroids, moons and planets are mostly made of the same stuff with some variation. Meaning it would probably be cheaper to just mine the rare earth metals near you, rather than order it from a system that has slight more rare earth metals than yours. Though it does open up questions that have always bugged me in regards to fictional materials. Namely as to what Beskar, tibanna gas, or kyber crystal are even really are physically speaking. What exactly are their atoms even made of? The periodic in RL is mostly filled up, and anything at the edges is insanely heavy and unstable. Given the presence of hyperspace and SW's physics I'd hazard a guess that most of them might not entirely be made up of electrons and nucleons as we'd expect to be.
I do have one correction/clarification to your video. It is true that this world's mines are not owned by a guild or a nation currently. However, the thief (I forget what his name is) said this mine was owned and operated by the Techno Union until it was abandoned. Makko then took over and kept it operational until he was "relieved of ownership" by the miners. I just wanted to clarify because your video, although lovely, is worded in such a way that it implies that the mine was always owned by the miners. Considering the working conditions of the mine, it'd make sense that this mine would be somewhat off the books. This would, therefore, make it hard for the Empire to find once the Techno union assets were nationalized after the clone wars. This makes the situation on the planet as we see it make sense in-universe. Great video though! I remember back in my SW Galaxies days mining in my Y-wing (wanted to get a Y-8 so bad) and this video certainly brought back that nostalgia.
I love how this whole episode was a condemnation of the exploitation that is central to capitalism. The Bad Batch helping a group of workers awaken their sense of class consciousness, then said workers kill their boss and subsequently organize their workplace into a worker-owned co-operative is pretty awesome

So the PK Droids were mining Droids, I did not know that. Also, how is next week's video going to work, since we're getting both a Bad Batch episode and a Mandalorian episode, so are you going to pick one episode to make a video about on Wednesday, and then make a video on the other one on Thursday? And if so, do you already have a plan of which one you're going to choose for Wednesday or will you be waiting to see which episode has the more interesting points to talk about? (Let's be honest it will probably be the Mandalorian that has the more interesting stuff. I love the Bad Batch, but so far this season only episodes 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, and 9 which was a surprise, have had interesting stuff to discuss episodes 4, 5, and today's episode were kind of lacking). This also makes me wonder what you're plan will be when eventually The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and I think Rangers of the New Republic(if that's still going to be a thing) all start airing together since all three shows will interconnect and eventually lead to a Canon version of the battle with Thrawn from Legends, so presumably all three shows will eventually start airing on the same day or at least different days in the same week and lead into each other, probably even have a multi-parter across all three like part 1 is in Mandalorian, an Ahsoka episode will be part 2, and Rangers will be part 3.
PK's weren't specifically mining droids, rather they were general labour units that could do any basic tasks you put in front of them. Just give them tools and maybe a software patch, and they'll work a mine. Maybe not as well as a specialist mining unit, but they'll be cheap and can be repurposed to other work later.

It would be interesting to learn more about the ships of Star Wars. I am not talking about the Crap the Empire or the Republic use that is the main stream ships. I am more interested in the stuff that are not quite as featured. And . . . What would be the best over all ship for a small group or an induvial too use. Depending on their means of making a living in the Star Wars Galaxy. Weather they are miners, bounty hunters, or pirates or other wise. Also as detailed as you are about getting into the roots of the history of Star Wars . Do you or anyone you know. Know enough of how to go about organizing the Series of Various Star Wars Shows, Movies, Animated, CGI, Ect. . . Into a chronological order. That is better organized then the jumbled mess that Disney has made of it thus far. I am aware of the fact there are multiple different stories all taking place at roughly the same time. through out the different individual time periods. But it would be much easier too understand everything that is going on in the galaxy. If it was put into a better order.
The fact that the slightest exposure to socialism amazes people is so funny to me. I mean, good for you to think that sharing owner ship over the means of production is a idea. Wish there were more people who think like you tho.
All in all i shouldnt complain but im tired of these stories. Bad guy gets exposed good guys win. Boring. Really boring. As i said decent episode but i getting so tired of these lame good guys always win stories. Why cant they just go in kill a bunch of people and shoot the thief in the head. It might be wrong to expect that from a show that is also catered to kids but when i heard „Bad Batch“ i immediately thought that would be the show. I actually expected them to stay with the empire😅 Thats was obviously way off and thats fine but i still want some actual brutal combat and not this lame „pure evil warlord gets what he deserves“. Welp, Cid’s not yet the culprit, though that might change next episode.
on you're next video can you talk about protocol droids please
The slow batch
Here's a question about another profession: How does moisture farming work?
Talk about restaurants.
Is it just me or did the intro got longer?
I'm here for the boop boop boop jagsbdbdk
Just glad the Bad Batch got their home back.
Explore the Sports industry... Exploitation of being and beasts for the wealthiest's entertainment.
I thought the mine in bad batch had been one of the techno Union and the miners took it over after the union collapsed I thought someone said that
I like how the miners became communists :3
I'm glad I'm not the only person who enjoyed that ❤️
"Bull-Sith?" 🤔
So, Mokko was OPPRESSING those kids with greed? Mokko, meet Zorro. *Within 5 minutes, Mokko now has a Z tattooed on his forehead for the rest of his life, which doesn't last long after that.*
still waiting for star wars to show us kuat!!!
🤔 . . . Something that we think about as much as breathing these days: food…
that was a zyggerian?
Good question, it certainly didn't look by one. Probably a mistake on Geetsly's side.
I own a gold mine IRL and uhhh yeah thank god i dont have to go in caves lol
If it was put into a better order.
the revan did nothing wrong commend made my day
First, it was a great two-parter now it’s a lousy to Parter.
👍👍👍👍👍
Wtf 6 ads in a 8 minute video?
Using the old intro, Eh?
Oh no there running out of funny comments I never thought this day would come. just call the empire and tell them to blow me up now
MEINKRAFT 1:11
This did not deserve to be a 2 parter
I'll be honest, I'm disappointed. I really hoped Cid stole the ship.
Can watch Bad batch for free without disneyplus
So its kinda like if communism actually worked? Or tribalism?
Dear lord, I hope that "boring droid" isn't Canon. That's just frigging lazy lol
Alright 29 seconds ago 1st comment love the chanel❤️
star waes just advocated for socialism.
I wonder if this is the first time this happened in SW?
Those storys are great once in a while but quickly get annoying we dont always need a lesson. Sometimes we just want war. Atleast i do.
They're called the Bad Batch because, out of all the clones, they were made to be defective. So they're a bad batch of clones, like a bad batch of eggs.
@@Alex-sv7vt Obviously i know that. But i was hoping for the show to go a different direction not because of the name but because i expected a special forces unit to stay a special forces unit.
@@kingofrivia1248 That's understandable. In a previous video, we explained that we understood this isn't the show many fans wanted, but it's the route the writers wanted to take.
First
fifth
This episode killed any hype I had left for this show, what a waste.
Isn’t Socialism and communism Great
Can you make all the videos yourself and not have that other guy voice any.
mining systems werent unique in starwars
Correct: Revan did nothing wrong.
Thank you for the spoiler alert🙏❤️ ive been waiting for the majority of episodes to be out, is it all out yet? I havent been keeping up unfortunately🤦♂️🫣
Hey! Episode 10 just aired. We have a few more weeks to go before the season is over
@@Alex-sv7vt awesome thank you, i reckon i should start watching them soon so i can catch up on all these videos involving bad batch s2 spoiler😅💯
