    Hi. Thanks for update.
    I am fitting out a 7.5ft x 14 ft + V nose aluminum cargo trailer as my carpentry tool hauler and RV.
    Front V makes for a great kitchen with Senvill 9000 btu mini split mounted on left V nose wall flush to corner, and inside head is up top on flat space over RV 19" gas range/oven.... i have one in my woodshop, and it is amazing for 400 s.ft. heat and cool...
    120v shore power or, i have 900watts of solar on the roof top!.
    ,and night time wind turbine to top up batteries in evening so AC can run right away mid morning as solar takes over .......

    Thanks for the video showing the lines running below the trailer. I am about to perform a mini-split AC install on a trailer and the lines from the air handler which is inside and at the top of the wall next to the roof will run down below the floor of the trailer and then back up into the outside condenser and my worry was the lines coming from below and then traveling back up to reach the condenser but it appears to not be an issue on your install. My concern was negated by your video.

    Thanks so much for the update!!
    Questions:
    How many watts does it use on the average in the summer. What kind of power does your trailer have? I'm about to start my build and I want a goal to hit. I would rather have more and not need it, then need it and not have it.

  • @Psalm91ArmorUp

    The Confort has a SEER rating of 15, which is the industry minimum, that explains the dirt cheap price. This may not be the best option for people who want to full-time with a robust solar setup. It does make sense if you plan to be on shore power and not boondocking, which I would assume is your scenario, correct me if I’m wrong, no malice. :)

      I would agree, if going solar I would look for the most efficient unit u can afford for sure!

    • @randybobandy9828
      @randybobandy9828 2 года назад

      Yes the best units you can get are 20-22 seer since they don't really make more efficient 120v models. EER is a better unit to compare vs seer because it tells you exactly how much power a unit uses at full power. I think 12.5 eer is the best you can get in 120v which is about 960w for a 12,000btu unit or 720w for a 9000btu unit.

    I used to think 'mini-split' referred to some cool parallel power trick, but it literally means the AC comes in two parts...speaking of which, would it be possible to run an AC 500W off the mains, and 500W off the solar? Anyway to combine to 500W power sources into 1000W?

    • @aicram62
      @aicram62 2 года назад

      My guess is that you can collect the power from many places but they have to be put into ONE place for the usage, most likely a battery. So solar, wind, hydro, all accumulated into a battery, and THEN you can use it.

  • @GeorgeOu
    @GeorgeOu 3 года назад

    These types of split units all require the outside unit to have 12-inch minimum spacing on the back where it draws air in to blow through the front. Yet it looks like you've mounted the outside unit with only a 2-inch clearance which severely constricts the intake. I have to imagine this reduces the efficiency of the unit, but it clearly still works for you and it makes it easier to mount this unit. But are you getting good reliability from this thing?
    It's great that you got this working because it's so much more efficient and so much cheaper than 12V ACs built for the RV market. There's no way I want to spend $4300 on an RV AC. It looks like you can probably move this thing out 2 inches to get a little more gap behind the back.

    • @danielmid6022
      @danielmid6022  3 года назад +2

      I was concerned with clearance when I installed it, but this unit blows ice cold and cools the entire RV quickly. If u have a location to install your unit with more clearance, I think it would be better.

    • @GeorgeOu
      @GeorgeOu 3 года назад

      @@danielmid6022 Great to hear that it's working so well for you after a few years. It's also good to know that it's possible to get away with less clearance, though I wouldn't doubt it means a slight drop in efficiency. Can you tell me how many inches of clearance you have on the outside unit?

    • @gf2e
      @gf2e 3 года назад

      I’ve been reading spec sheets for lots of different mini splits and some of them are fine with 3” if there aren’t other obstructions. They have detailed diagrams showing how much clearance if you have it by a corner wall or with another unit next to it etc etc etc.

    Hey man, thanks for the video.
    I was asking about mini splits on another channel and was told that to leave one on 24/7 would use too much power without electric hook up (e.g just powering from solar/batteries), and yet you have this running 24/7... What's powering it - Solar? My absolute dream is to have a workbench for wood working in the back of a Van, but obviously humidity and temperature need to be quite constant 24/7 to not have my wood blanks bending and cracking in the Summer heat mainly... I'm interested in getting a MWB, high top size Transit/Sprinter Van. Obviously it'd be fully insulated... I'd be really happy to hear your thoughts on such. All the best Daniel.

      I would think so. If it's in direct sun all the time, maybe go with the 18000 but as far as sq footage, 12000 should be good

    Hey bud I watched this video about 10 times now in the past few weeks. Wanted to see what your thoughts are now on the confortotal unit you had got? Thinking about getting one but then noticed it has a 110v regular male outlet plug. Changes things a little as I planned to hardwire directly into breaker panel but I suppose I could make it work. Just wanted to get your thoughts since you have had it for about 10 months or so now. It's also not an inverter so a little different on power. It's the only unit that could fit on my tongue due to the low profile and narrowness. Only have 12 inches to work with from front of nose to trailer jack.

    Hi! Do u know any mini split ac with it's outdoor unit is sideways, so it could be put on the roof of the rv? All outdoor units i saw are so tall that they would increase the total height of the rv a lot if ty're put on the roof.

      I have added coolant. The AC tech that did the work said that pioneer units are known to leak right at the back of the inside unit, regardless of being installed on an rv or someone's home. He added stop leak when he filled... No issues since. Hope that helps

      @@danielmid6022, I'm getting ready to install mine, and ran across a video by RV Living Yet. He purchased "flex lines" and installed those after having leak issues. He responded to my question and stated that he has had no leak issues since installing them. I may have to go that route to begin with.

    Question: how well do the outside units stand up to dust/rocks/rain, etc? I'm thinking of mounting mine underneath the gooseneck between my pickup and the vertical bulkhead on the trailer. I guess I could protect it with decent mud flaps, but not sure about dust from the road. Great vid man!

    • @YUNQ04

      Keep in mind the outside condenser unit needs to be mounted vertically in the upright position to work.

      Dust is no issue. If it gets too dirty just take a hose and spray it down. I have had a my unit completely caked in dust and dirt(my shop is right next to a busy dirt road) and a 2 minute spray down with a hose and you are golden.

    Where did you buy the comfort from? I can’t find one under $800

    • @mikesmultimedia
      @mikesmultimedia 2 года назад

      The confortotal system he said he bought for around $300-$400. It was a Mexican based product and had a seer rating of 15. I like the Confortotal idea being smaller and lower weight. Concerns would be manufacture warranty integrity, and just how bad is 15 vs. well, maybe 20 seer on the Pioneer.
      If the install can't fit the Pioneer, then of course the only option is to use the Confortotal. But if both pieces of equipment can fit, the it is a matter of weight and size issues. And if the weight and size is not an issue, then go with the pioneer.
      I've watched many mini-split vids and many vids have the Pioneer or very similar model (9K BTU) for around $7-800 bucks.
      Lastly, the actual hook up. I've seen some mini-splits needing special vacuum gauges, and extra steps to connect the lines. This video didn't mention that process. Perhaps it was not an issue then?
