Thaanks for the video! I have a coupke questions, do you know where i can find the torque specs and also, are exhaust gaskets universal or does that one have a specific name? Any help appreciated! Youre awesome!
Thank you for the nice comment! I’m not sure what the torque specs are, but any ford shop manual should have them, and the gaskets for the exhaust actually say Chrysler 2.4l on the bag believe it or not. There are a couple different gaskets you need tho. They are not the same for all the different pipes. Rockauto is your best place to get them. It will say where the location is for all them
Hello Tmillproductions i have a 2011 Ford Edge it makes a clunky noise when i shift to reverse on a slope. So i want to change the trans mount the question is how good is the no name, after market mounts do they last long like the oems original mounts? Do you have any good feedbacks from using these aftermarket mounts?
To be honest I think the oem is the best over the aftermarket. However this is a 247k mile rust bucket so I don’t wanna spend a ton of money into it. If yours is in nice shape you and plan to keep it for a while I would go oem motorcraft. So far tho I have about 30k miles on this aftermarket one with no problems
@@T-MillProductions Then i will go for the OEM mount as they are not too expensive about $60 on Ebay. But its good to hear that the aftermarket mounts are also good and holding on.Thanks for the feed back.
No I used a torch and heated them up and then used a 3/8 drive breaker bar. However just recently I went to change out the exhaust pipes and all of the studs broke and I have to pound them out and replace them with bolts so be careful not to break the exhaust studs off
Good job, found this video looking for the other mount that is under the battery pedestal. WHat are the symptoms of this one going bad? Engine over rotating or thumping after moving from a stop?
This one was bad because oil from the ptu ruined the rubber bushings and the whole motor was shaking real bad and you could actually move the motor with your hands. I could actually move the entire mount up and down. I have another video showing it being bad. Check out my channel and you’ll see it on there
I have a question I have a 2009 Ford edge and my transmission went out on me while driving and transmission fluid splashed up in the engine bay do you have any ideas
I would take out your battery and get engine degreaser and soak the whole engine bay in it and then rinse it off. The. Take compressed air and blow all the water off so it dries faster. Then get the transmission rebuilt or replaced
@@T-MillProductions I mean do you have any ideas of what happen to the transmission when it goes out does it normally splash transmission fluid everywhere?
My 2008 Ford Edge jerks when I go from 70 to 80 kph in 6th Gear and it shifts weird every time it shifts it jerks into the next gear so I'm wondering if that transmission mount could be it it does have some play in it but I'm not sure how much it's supposed to have please let me know what you think
I would check the driveshaft and make sure one of the carrier bearings didn’t go bad. Mine went bad a while ago and it made the whole car shake at different speeds. Then I would check your fluid level and color and see what it looks like. Does the rpm jump up when it shifts indicating a slipping transmission?
Much appreciation for the no fluff approach and the summary at the end.👍👍
No problem man! Thanks for watching!
Good Job 👍👏👏💪
Thank you!!

@kaymiles I think that would be a good idea for you. Like I say mine is an old pos so I don’t wanna spent to much into it. But so far so good lol
Did you use a compact drill to take off the exhaust nuts?
I cant get them to break loose
No I used a torch and heated them up and then used a 3/8 drive breaker bar. However just recently I went to change out the exhaust pipes and all of the studs broke and I have to pound them out and replace them with bolts so be careful not to break the exhaust studs off
What were the symptoms of a failing transmission mount?
I had a bad vibration and the whole engine moved by hand
@@T-MillProductions was the bad vibration noticable when the vehicle decelerated to a stop?
No not really bad, it was noticeable but not horrible

I’m not sure why yours did that, I’ve never seen it splash fluid everywhere before but did it break the case apart or splash out of the dipstick tube?

@@T-MillProductions yes the RPM jumps up every time the car jerks
@@T-MillProductions I did change the transmission fluid when I bought the vehicle and 50,000 km later I did again
That sounds like a band slipping or a clutch pack going out. What does the fluid look like? And does it smell burnt?
@@T-MillProductions it doesn't smell burnt and it looks good as new but it has had very fine aluminum dust in it before I haven't checked recently
Rear motor mount. Dont need to remove anything on the exhaust.
👍
Next time push it up pull towards you and it’ll come out easier
Yea it was tough trying to record and do it lol
