- Yea, so this is going to snowball I can feel it. I started this job thinking I'll change the oil check valves, which isn't so bad and not expensive, but hell this audi s4 loves to provide me with bleeding knuckles and sadness.
Ah, I love it really. Check out my previous videos on this build if you haven't seen them yet:

Being a fellow B6 S4 owner, I take my hat off to ya for tackling this... 🤙 Ive just had both cam covers and front main seal done, garage cleaned my engine and it looks mint now.....
Mate, we need a support group for people like us. People who know that it's not the most tunable, powerful engine. It's been shoehorned into a space that it doesn't fit. Everything is hard and frustrating. BUT THE NOISE! Oh, and the fact it still manages to do 0-60 in like 4.5s as a barge of a car is epic. I might make you and I badges... "SUCK4R" badges haha
@@TheRSGarage haha, think we need councilling.... yea they do sound good with the milltek on 😉 love mine just had the wheels powder coated, pick them up tomorrow, can't wait 👿
@@TheRSGarage I have the same s4 but mine has a puff of blue smoke on cold start. any tips ?
@@legumbeats4502 Sounds like worn piston rings. That's an engine rebuild.
@@joevarga5982 lmao bro I been sold dat car a year ago appreciate it tho
Love the commentary 😂. Keep up the good work.
Thanks. I love this stuff...
Did the new oil check valves do the trick? I'm doing this job right now! I hope to finish in the next couple of days. I recently had intermittent chain rattle. Sometimes no rattle and then after its running they rattle then stop. The timing chains were done less than 20k miles ago. So I think the issue for my car are these valves not working properly.
Long story short lol I haven't finished... I haven't had the chain tensioners done yet and since cleaning it all I came back to more pooling of oil, so I need to find the source of that leak too. I'm in 2 minds about pulling the motor and doing the tensioners if I'm at this point anyway... Obviously that's a whole other level of work but if it's gonna get done... then while I'm there, single turbo? 😂
Did it work? Same thing for me, replaced guides and tensioners but still have rattle on cold start, doing the job in the next few days.
@@datch3868 so it doesn’t rattle on startup anymore. But it’s misfiring so need to work that bastard out!!
Hey! I’m wondering after replacing the oil check vape did that fix the start up rattle or make it any better? If you know please let me know. Thanks
Hey John. I’m just waiting on a couple of parts and I’ll soon tell you. She got neglected as I contemplated life and what I was going to do with it. I’ve ordered some injector gaskets and should be attempting a put back together next week! I’m hoping it solves some of the rattle! Would be nice not to have to do the chain tensioners just yet!
@@TheRSGarage ohh okay I gotcha well thank you for replying! And wish you luck with that!
@@TheRSGarage Well, we're WAY beyond soon...
@@joevarga5982 ha yes mate you’re right. My weekends have been a lot more busy of late. I started it. It works. No rattling. But misfiring now so… need to scan and diagnose the issue some more.
Hi, what’s the part number of this non- return valve
Did you do anything with the PCV system while you everything out?
No, just the oil check valve changing
looks like you had a oil leak under the oil filter housing where that double o ring is. then running under the inlet
Yep, I replaced those two as well eventually. Hopefully that’ll all help.
@@TheRSGarage I had the same leak there . Oil all over the front and top of engine and it was them 2 little 0 rings . Have another leak now at the front left side . Oil pump cooler I think and it's just 2 o rings but have to take half the front of the car of to get at it 🤣
Just bought one of these pieces of magnificent shit. I fucked up royally by buying the piece of shit off Copart, plus it's a convertible. If it's a common issue, the bag of dicks has it. Fixed the airbag, radio needs fixing with a sledge hammer, and it's taking on water. OH OH, and the ZF 6HP19A is grinding like a bitch on cold start in drive or reverse :D FUCK YEAH
Ha just seen this. Mate. Always the fun. You used that sledge hammer yet?
That broken connector is for Air-conditioning
Really? That's amazing! I had no idea, so that's a big help haha I was just down looking at this. I have another oil leak coming from somewhere else. I need to work out the best thing to do for the engine. Will drain the oil and assess the areas it's leaking I think but need to sort that connector and a coolant hose for sure. Thanks massively for that! 😍
@ 4:12 well yeah... reads in the instructions to pull the front off lol
Haha yea I was just trying to avoid it because I hate it so much!
@@TheRSGarage I've worked on TT, A4, and A8/S8 cars almost every time the front bumper is coming off lol
@barefamting I have the same s4 but mine has a puff of blue smoke on cold start but goes away any tips ?
This might help. Sounds like it’s pooling oil which could be this valve, especially if it goes away. Otherwise I’d have said valve seals if it doesn’t go away. For the money to change this I’d definitely do it. If you’re in the US you can google Audi S4 oil check valve kit and get all the parts you need in one.
want to buy mine (manual B6 S4)!? shipping may be about the same amount for the project... ha! US to London (one way!)
Haha what’s up with yours? I’m still working on mine but I’m sure you’re right. No doubt cheaper!!
I'm using my daughters account lol. Sophie is definitely NOT fixing my car.
Za odvahu 1 za provedenou práci 5...Nepřipravený, všechno špinavé, mlátí součástkama o sebe, nechráněné blatníky atd....ani jsem se nedodíval.
Audi never figured out how to keep oil in an engine. I guarantee it's leaking from many places.
Oh without doubt! It'll be pissing out somewhere
