Can you show a step by step engine removal for the B8 4.2 one day? I seen you had a video of a black B8 S5 on another one of your videos but you guys fast forwarded the whole engine removal process. I know this S4 V8 is similar to the B8 but I see a few big differences. Anyways, great work as always guys

What a fantastic job! My boss would have said it should have taken me 20 minutes but then I live in Cornwall, so you're lucky if your car comes in and doesn't end up with a tractor gearbox welded to your car if you advize an issue with gear changes. You guys are definitely going to do well and I didn't have a problem with the sound at all, in fact I burnt my dinner because I was watching and listening to the tunes. Spot on VAG Technic ;)

Great video. Just wondering on your thoughts on belt vs chain. With Audi the chains in the S and RS seem to be trouble sum. Is this the norm for large high power chain German engines IE BMW and Merc as well

hi i want ask you iv have touareg 2011 3.0 tdi and i change timing chain can i use long chain tensioner from 2015 3.0 tdi engine because i found tensioner is come with o ring and i think its same or not ?

One of very nice & educative clip ! Been thinking , after Audi started with timing chain , it will be fix and forget ! But as i see , craps are happening ! Hm , some support '' bridges '' are Alu some plastic . Beside , those chain slipping inserts are from bad material . Looks like those engines are made not to last for along time - to eat your money pretty often . Big shame to VAG ! Regards !

That looks like a parts cart with a hydraulic lift. We have several at my job in red and blue.
Very interesting video but please sort out the music level and the spoken voice level on the video as they are way out of balance meaning the viewer has to keep turning to volume up and down.

cabin air filter is actually a piece of cake! Right on top, easy to get to! 5 minute job! I have a leaking oil O-ring on my oil cooler, though...$12 part. Can't even see it without taking the whole front off and removing the Alternator. ugh.

How much a job like this cost?
I'd love to own one of these cars, absolutely beautiful pieces of machinery. But What a nightmare to work on. I don't know how Audi techs used to make any money back when these things were under warranty. Hell, even at 30 hours that looks like it'd be difficult to make time as a flat rate tech.

seems kind of ironic how German engineering is praised to high glory yet, if those chain guides were aluminum castings, this service would not be needed, ever!

The cost of this repair had to have cost 5 or 6 times what the trade in value is of the car. If this car was in the US I'm sure it would've been in the salvage yard.
In Europe the cost of the car is about 1:1 with the cost of this repair. Maybe a little bit less. If you can find one that with this already done, it will be worth the premium..

Owning your own garage and a hydraulic lift would make it easier
as complex they are making engines it really isnt wise to own an audi, bmw ,mercedes etc after warranty,
wisdom goes out the window when you drive a good one, though!

Is that even an economical repair? If not, the car goes to the crusher. However, Covid has caused used car prices to rise so maybe the repair is logical.
