When he showed the two comparisons between the HTC Mogul and the current HTC One at 3:50, I literally cried!!! Crying that how Technology+innovation has changed the future :)
Hands down my favorite phone of all time. Took it in to sprint for an issue with it reading my SD card, and they upgraded me with the touchPro...life sucked after that!! I've been searching for that level of enthusiasm in a phone ever since...
I love these Throwback phone videos and Michael Fisher! Keep it up and I would love to see a Throwback video on the Samsung i830, one of my favorite phones of all time.
This was a throwback video 8 years ago. I still think my HTC Mogul was awesome for its time. I remember spending hours playing with a registry editor to make whatever tweaks I could find. I was jelly though that the sister version I believe had a tilt screen and the Mogul did not.
So stoked to see this. I loved my Mogul! I remember using the real time GPS application and being blown away as it followed me while I drive. I still have it packed away with my Droid X, Droid 2, Bionic, and G-Nex.
Nice throwback there, I had a HTC S700/ Rose 100 for 4 years & loved it, well the screen stopped working 2 months ago & it was rather sad letting go of it.
I miss old windows Mobile. My first phone was a cingular 8125. I got it in 06 i believe and i just remember everyone wanting what i had haha. good times.
My best friend had that phone when it came out. I remember listing after it, and when I found out T-Mobile had a variant, I remember in the summer of 08, I spent my summer money on the T-Mobile Wing. I used that phone until the screen changed colors on me. Then 3 yrs later in 2010 (yes, I was using an outdated phone, but I LOVED windows mobile) I bought the Tytn II, the original Tilt. That was my baby.
I always wanted the mogul, but during that summer, the dimond pro came out. Then the following year I upgraded to the dimond pro 2. I've been an htc fan since 2007 ;-), which is how I landed on your website watching a ton of comparisons. I miss those days!
My custom rom addiction started on this device. When I had this phone almost everyone else was rocking a krazer or a palm. Hard spl, cab. Files, and spb mobile shell come to mind when I think of this device.
I was with Sprint and had the Mogul. At the time, for me it worked great. I was a business owner and had many contacts and busy work schedule and this thing was basically my secretary. Loved this phone!
Yes, it was my first smart phone. I remember picking one up the day to came out. I too was in Norfolk Va , when that happen. I loved that phone and even now having a Note 2, I miss the keyboard. I wish they would bring it back.
when i got the HTC HD2 in 2010 it was and still is the most excited about receiving a new smart phone. Windows mobile consistently let me down but the hardware of the phone never did
My first smartphone. I did miracles with this phone. And if you think it was a fat phone i had an extended battery on it. Thank you Michael for this video.
I had the HTC Tilt with AT&T. Going from a Motorola Razor to the Tilt was amazing. I loved being able to talk, text, web, manage files, etc on the Tilt. It had it all. I loved it. A couple of years later, I upgraded to the iPhone 3G. I have owned every iPhone since, but I still remember how cool the Tilt was. My true geekyness started with the Tilt.
Always regretted not going with the XV6800 because it got ALL the XDA developer/mod love. Sill I love my Samsung SCH-730 and (after I sat on it) my SCH-760. It really felt like carrying around a PC in your pocket and was light-years ahead of the feature phones out at the time. I felt like a time-traveler - now it's just all so commonplace and slick. Those were the days!
This was indeed the best and last Windows Mobile phone I ever used. I loved this thing at the time and it served me well! I remember feeling like a CEO or something walking around with this PDA. Aah...nostalgia! We've certainly come a long way since then, eh? Not surprising that before I left Android for Apple, the only phones I ever used on Droid were all also made by HTC. Such an underrated company, this one.
I loved and hated this phone!! It saw me graduate hs and see me join the Marine Corps!! Went thru 4 replacements in a matter of a year!! Good 'ol memories! !!
I had an HTC P3300 and I really loved it. I got it in 2009 though, it was my father's phone so I got it when he bought a touch diamond 2 for himself. In terms of specs it was pretty similar to the titan. 64MB of RAM though the processor was clocked at 201mhz and was made by Texas Instruments.
i had a HTC tytn 2 , at the time i came out , i was amazed by the camera it had , did al sorts of crazy stuff with it , like put better rom's on it , i always was in love with the touchflow 3d from the touch diamond , my phone was just to old at that time to do it , so i kept searching for roms with touchflow 3d in it , and i found it , really love'd that phone , for now i have an iPhone 5S , can't belive that in 2008 when i had my htc tytn 2
Hands down the BEST phone ever!! Still have mine(the 2nd) one I've owned.Saw a video where this phone was connected on android 4.1! craaazzzyyy........
Oh yes, I had one. You never forget your first smartphone. What I really wanted was an iPhone, but I was locked into my sprint plan and was cautious about switching to another carrier. I bought this as a alternative. I loved some features but I finally became disenfranchised with its sluggish interface compared to the iPhone. I switched and bought an iPhone 3G just before the iPhone 3GS was released. (I was naive to the release cycle at the time or I would have waited a few months and bought the 3GS). I've now owned the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5S, and the iPhone 6. The wife has owned the iPhone 4, iPhone 5, and the iPhone 6. Needless to say, we love the iPhone.
I had the O2 XDA Atom with Marvell PXA270 520 MHz and 64 Mb RAM and it was awesome. And you know what... Just checked and It's still working. I miss the times of the Windows Mobile. Stylus, hardware buttons, jog dial, resistive display, magic...
This was my first touch screen phone back in 2009 , good old days. This was one of a kind in Pakistan at that time that I owned.it was attention magnet
the year is 2018 and I just bought one of these on Amazon because even in todays time of smart devices a Windows mobile device is perfect for pda use and emergency backup phone
When he showed the two comparisons between the HTC Mogul and the current HTC One at 3:50, I literally cried!!! Crying that how Technology+innovation has changed the future :)
The good old days of resistive touchscreens where you could throw your phone out the window and then check your e-mail.
More throwbacks please. It's 2018 & enjoying them.
I'd love to see more of these throwback videos! =D
lol, I've kept my GSM HTC Hero. What an insanely long way we've come.
Hands down my favorite phone of all time. Took it in to sprint for an issue with it reading my SD card, and they upgraded me with the touchPro...life sucked after that!! I've been searching for that level of enthusiasm in a phone ever since...
I love how passionate Michael is about his work.
I like when you guys make those type of videos. It shows you where the company was back then, and where it is today.

when "pocketnow throwback" becomes a throwback of itself 😆
I was with Sprint and had the Mogul. At the time, for me it worked great. I was a business owner and had many contacts and busy work schedule and this thing was basically my secretary. Loved this phone!

The Titan 2 was my dream phone back in the days.
Wow I still remember that phone and I fell in love with it too 😍😍😍
More throwbacks please. They are the best.
when i got the HTC HD2 in 2010 it was and still is the most excited about receiving a new smart phone. Windows mobile consistently let me down but the hardware of the phone never did
I like the new reviews for old phones in HD.

You guys should do a throwback video of HTC HD2, living legend!
Always regretted not going with the XV6800 because it got ALL the XDA developer/mod love. Sill I love my Samsung SCH-730 and (after I sat on it) my SCH-760. I think I'm the user who suggested a throw back segment. When you asked on your website for suggestions
