Absolute perfection .Stunning . Wood is seen as impractical by some . It is quite the reverse . You correctly spoke of it as forgiving , and it is also giving isn’t it . Comfortably coming into the house and offering itself in beauty and function as it did when a tree . It copes well with daily wear with only a little knowhow and care from us . It settles into life and only improves with time and care . We are seduced by granite , still a beautiful material and natural . Not however with the warmth and comfortable presence of wood . Our decor these days risks turning our homes into spaceships . And what about the bug killing aspect ! Who knew . Makes one look at the wooden spoon with no trace of suspicion at all . This video is near he top of the list for me . Thanks.

I love your choice. The perfect one. I thought maybe you would go with the butcher block because of the theme in the rest of your house. I like that you take your time with everything and not rush it. It will definitely be worth the wait. I think everything you did to make it straighten out was good. You will never see the angle iron and the counter looks beautiful. I would keep the cut-outs of your countertops. I can imagine that you will find projects down the road that they would come in handy for. My first thought was to make cutting boards, but it sounds like you already have some. Although the butcher block would be good to use on your moveable island. It would be good for bread making and to cool canning jars on it if you are inclined to preserve food like that. As always, love your style and the choices you make. Love and blessings.

Making decisions and changing your mind as you go through a renovation is actually a good thing. You don't box yourself off into doing things one way and then second guessing them afterwards. You alter things as needed, IF needed...very wise indeed!

I have had butcher block counter tops for years. I only used Johnsons Paste wax on mine and have relaxed a couple of times. I like the old look. I did mine in walnut. They now look like they are really old. I have a mobile home too. Love them. Your's look great.

As always your choices are spot on! I’m loving your kitchen. Just an idea, buy a small cart put some of the leftover wood on top and make a rolling butcher block island. Happy Easter to all of you.

I love it! We did the same countertops and almost the same white cabinets......and we are also remodeling an older double wide. We live in New Mexico though not Michigan. Great minds think alike I guess!!

Great job! Looks beautiful! My husband, daughters and I built a 3 level home 30 yrs ago. It took us 10 yrs totally doing all the work. But it was so worth. We paid as we went and when we sold it 15 yrs ago we made 6 times what we had invested! We sold it because our daughters were married and gone and I have arthritis and climbing 2 sets of stairs was becoming a problem. We moved to a home about 1/3 the size no stairs. But our girls still drive by the house we built. Our youngest girl has befriended the new owners (not the ones we sold it to) and they've shown her around and allowed her to take pictures. It will always be our family home in our hearts.
