@@wtechboy18 They finally changed the block's height to a full block, so it totally breaks the ice amplifying the slowdown. It also breaks one way doors using it.
We need to get a perspective of someone standing next to the track while you zoom past them at 900 m/s.

Not really possible, as if the observer had a render distance of 8 chunks it would take the sprinter 6 ticks to run out of the render distance, which is about .28 seconds

I love how Mojang implements ideas we all want, but in creative and novel ways we wouldn't expect. For a long time we were asking for some sort of backpack to store more items, but rather than do that they implemented shulker boxes, so we transport huge numbers of items on us, but it's actually suits the game better I feel, as it keeps the slightly more fantasy aesthetic.
And for a long time people have been asking for a block that we could walk quicker on like asphalt, but instead they add a new enchantment to work with a coexisting block that normally slows you down. It's different and I love it.
Rather than give us what we want, they give us what we don't know we need. It's nice that they don't just give in to the demands of what the loudest crowd asks. I'm sure Mojang is working on some sort of cave update, but they're going to do something none of us would expect, that would be better than anything we are currently suggesting.
Interesting. I like this line of thinking, and I hope you're right about the cave update. It'll be fun to see how they approach improving that.

As much as it sucks for notch to go (didn't suck for his pockets) Its probably better to have a huge team with billions or dollars of possible funding behind it all

Doesn’t matter. Servers only render 10 chunks out. You can turn the slider up to infinity but it doesn’t matter, you’ll still only be able to see 10 chunks.
@@-Burb in server.properties you can set the server render distance, on clients you can put a number bigger than the one in server settings but it wont work

For comparison the top speed of an F-35 fighter jet is 1930 km/h or mach 1.6
for a short time he actually went 1200 m/s
Which is 4320 km/h or mach 3.53 which far surpasses one of the fastest planes ever made, the SR-71 Blackbirds, top speed of Mach 3.2 (3920 km/h)

well first you have to build to bridge which will take more
Paul Preserves not really. I dunno if u saw but it can shoot you out quite far. All you need is feather falling and you could build it a bit up so you don’t hit mountains and probably get there with a cannon that’s only like ~5000 blocks long
The fastest he went was 1200m/s which is mach 3.5, faster than a sr71, while the fastest speed that wasnt glitching the game was at 7:55 and went about 850m/s so mach 2.47 more than 3times faster than a commercial jetliner

I did a no tech run on a server for ATM3, real fun, I made tinker armour that LITERALLY beat the draconic armour set, in defence, involnerablility, speed, etc. I was traveling at insane speeds and raced people in the end game tech armour in my early game techless armour. Now vanilla minecraft has completely overshadowed my achievements with a simple enchantment T^T
