I love how Neo is actually getting some attention. Neo and Roman are still my favorite characters in the show despite how the RT version is handling them. This version of the story does them great justice!
The reveal that Roman was the new Ozpin had me picking up my jaw from the floor, I was absolutely shocked and can say for certain that I am excited for the next video.

The key is _necessity_ . XD Changing Ozpin into Roman is a _necessary_ change due to how little character Oscar has. I'd effectively be writing a new character from scratch anyway, so why not bring back an old favorite that could play with the idea so much more effectively? For pairing two characters together who were never friends in the original... making them _friends_ is already kinda pushing the boundaries XD
@@CelticPhoenix Yeah. Normally with reimaginings like this, I'm bothered when they get rid of a character, no matter how small their role was, or substitue it for another. With people saying they didn't like them, or thought they were bland. Even if I myself didn't cared much about them, it stills bothers me a little, and find it unfair. But the thing is, I realized I wasn't bothered at all by you doing this with Oscar. Like, not even a bit. I just realized watching your video how little of an impact he actually leaves.
I love and absolutely adore Yang's new character arc. As someone who has had a lot of family go through things like physical therapy and trauma (including myself) this is such a good arc and far better than the one we actually got in Volume 4. It feels more fulfilling and less like an add-on. I honestly like Yang more (originally, Yang and Blake are my least liked characters in the real series) and I'm really rooting for her and Neo/Jane. I hope things go well for them (it's not like it's my new ship or anything hahahahaha--)
You know what i like about this end credits? Questions. Since we never got Oscar scenes, at this point, we don't know Ozpin can change bodies. So, when Roman comes back, we're doubly confused.

I love the Torchwick reveal! I figured all the flashbacks were meant to tie into Neo's character arc, but I was certainly not expecting a blindside by Ozpin. Can't wait to see what you do with it! I'm surprised you didn't change the Nuck at all, especially the noodle arms. I was under the impression most people disliked the "wacky waving inflatable arm tube man" routine, or were at least put off by it. Was kinda hoping for poison breath to get it a bit closer to the mythological one. Or at least something to make it scarier.
That ending twist was SO DAMN GOOD ~~~ Like DAMN, I wish I thought of that for the rewrite I've done for fun as a little side thing. The character dynamics with Roman back in the mix can be VERY fun. Everyone's first reaction to seeing him is going to be Qrow's pretty much. While I did find Nora glomping him and calling him "cute boy Oz" funny, I'll gladly trade that gag for the gag of everyone wanting to fight him the first time they see him, with the exception of Neo of course(Although she might wanna throttle him anyways for making her think he was dead). I'm very much looking forward to Atlas with this new Ozpin/Roman given how Roman's previous interactions with Ironwood were anything but delightful. On ANOTHER note... This makes the joke Roman made in volume 2, "Oh look, she sent the kids again! This is turning out just like the divorce..." all the more funnier given the context of Ozpin's past.
The Roman reveal was amazing! I was expecting something like that, but not at that level! Ngl, I like oscar. He's a cool kid. But man, Ozpin becoming Roman is a much better twist. You are a genius. Oscar was kind of important, but I think that killing an extended cast is a good idea. Seriously, god knows that it is needed. Also like the continuity of Ruby and Roman's wierd relationship. The deleting of Cinder scenes is a good idea as well. And THANK YOU for changing Adam's wardrobe at the end. He didn't look menacing enough in his Vol.4 outfit.
As usual, this was another fun one and the reveal at the end was definitely a highlight for the fixing RWBY. My feedback for the most part is more to do with the journey than any decisions made. Seeing as there was a fair bit of set up for next season I'll hold on a few points but here goes. _______________ Pros. Roman's backstory was easily the highlight of this season for me and I couldn't be any more pleased to see Oscar taking out of the plot for the absolute nothing that his addition has amounted to. Little doubt you're going to have a blast writing him going forward. Sienna Kahn, I debate whether or not she needed to be killed off but she was well utilized in showcasing the structure and politics within the white fang. Her willingness to take on more ruthless and violent tactics inviting people like Adam and the Albain brothers into the system that undermine and challenge her authority. Though she's a stepping stone in Adam's story there's an unspoken character arc there. Leaving Salem and her cronies as this ominous presence at the back of the audience's mind was great for building suspense while reducing the number of stories you'd have to shoehorn into the season timeline. I think overall a great job was done with the timeline of events given the flimsy explanation we've had to work with from CRWBY. Adding Neo to Yang's plot was a surprisingly pleasant addition. Both still healing from their respective losses during the fall though some necessary liberties were taken with her characterization. ____________________ Cons Illya's arc feels rushed and abrupt towards the end: Between vol 4 and 5 we had a significant build-up of tension between the two leading up to the mansion fight. But due to the more slice of life/melodrama nature of Blakes plot in this rewrite, it feels like Illia goes with the nuclear option rather quickly with sending Blake to Adam. Beyond that I feel setting Illia on a path to redemption is a decision that works more to the benefit of meta reasons than story ones. Ruby herself doesn't real feel like she gets an arc this season. Understandable seeing as she's never alone and is constantly sharing screen time with the rest of RNJR but considering it's the most character-centric season we've had I think it would have gone a long way to change things up a bit more. The scene with Jaune was a great addition and I was disappointed when we didn't attempt to get more into her own conflicts having to be the hopeful one constantly inspiring others while bottling up her own feelings. ____________________________ extra thoughts: Curious what'll you'll do with Neo going forward. Not a shipping take but in terms of raw character dynamics, I Always felt Sun was a natural fit for Blake with their contrasting personalities. That reveal at the end was brilliant. All in all another solid rewrite and looking forward to Fixing RWBY vol 5

Roman is a better replacement for Oscar! It was a nice plot twist. And kudos for getting me to consider two ships outside of the shaky cannon: Holybuns and Baked Alaska, though tbh I am more for Gelato in regard to my favorite ship for Neo. I look forward to your retcon of volume 5.
(SPOILERS DOWN BELOW) So, that’s why there were Torchwick flashbacks in this volume. I like it. My only worry is how you’re gonna handle volume 5: if you expand upon how every team member gets to Mistral, you could probably fit the volume into 20-24 episodes. Then again, Volume 5 is notorious for sidestepping the questions on the fans’ minds until the next volume; if you’re keeping Maria for the rewrite, that is. Regardless, stay safe, wear a mask, don’t forget to manage your health, and have a good day.
torchwick as oz is perfect I think green and orange looks better on him anyway. Also I had the idea of the ozpins lives kinda like the avatar state instead of a body snatcher.
With Cardin heading to Mistral, I assume he'll meet up with RNJRQ and let them know how things at Vale have been going. I'm looking even more forward to what they're doing with the man with the anagram of Oscar except with an M instead of C (it took me until rewatc to catch that, assuming that was intentional) This is probably my fav of the rewrites so far, though I do have one bit of criricism. Given that the last time Nora and Phyrra interacted in V3 was pretty hested and negative, and the latter is dead now, I'd assume Nora would take that pretty hard, even worse than she probably would have if didn't have a fight and moment of being distant/standoffish as their final interactions. Nora does have moments of recoil and shame whenever Phyrra comes up in some way here, but you'd think she'd beat herself up for this given they never got to resolve their spat and go back to being friends before Phyrra died. Perhaps Fixing RWBY V5 could explore more of how she deals with that like with Ruby and Jaune in the V4 rewrite, especially since it would have probably been a bit hard to cram in a scene like that here with how much was alteady going on. Hats off to you as usual, and I loom forward to both the lonh form video version of this and the V5 rewrite next year.
Well now... that's a monkey wrench I did *not* expect. Neo bonding with Yang and Ozma's soul bonding with Torchwick might be the biggest deviation yet. Not because it shunts Oscar off the stage but because Ozma's new host is already a fairly talented combatant (albeit one without a Semblance... yet.) and a scheming savant and most importantly, Neo no longer has any reason to join Cinder's entourage, even if Roman *wasn't* somehow alive I think Neo's newfound friendship would've helped her process his death by then or at the very least, blunt her desire for revenge as Ruby's death would *devastate* Yang in turn. This in turn means that Cinder and Salem won't have a ready means of securing the Relic of Knowledge since Neo's incredible infiltration talents are no longer at their disposal. Or at least... you'll have to be creative in finding another way for them to do so.
Thank you for the rewrite. As someone who love stories and writes them as well. I actually come to your channel to gain motivation to press on, as you write this series. Somehow I learn more from your rewrites then most of my classes on pacing, setup and payoff, and a few others. Just know I learn a lot from these videos and will continue to watch till the heart wrenching end.
I just found this series last night, and obviously I've been enjoying it, and there have been several moments where I went "man, I really wish this was how it had happened in canon." But the Roman thing? I sat up on my couch and cheered. God damn, man. Absolutely friggin' brilliant.
Sorry for the long post but hopefully you know my vibe since I’ve done this for other volumes!This turned out to be very interesting overall and a lot of questionable things pay offed very well. Roman and Neo both with surprised heading to a colliding course keeps things exciting especially seeing how this will affect his dynamic with the others. Glad how Yangs plot line was more of a slow burn. It gave her more room to breathe as a character. As a Black dude, Blake storyline still leaves me weirded out but I at least feel you did decently with what you had to work with . I’m especially glad you don’t have her give that horrible speech at the end of V5. I always already like RNJR in the show so the little things you did differently was nice too. Lastly tying up where the other teams are going is really cool since it gives you room to look at the other academies or pocket them for future storylines. Sort of like the Supernovas if you read One Piece.Stuff like Velvet and Cardin being the point of view we see Beacon being rebuilt does go a long way in making RWBY feel more lived in beyond what we see from the Main Characters. I can make a different post for V5 ideas and theories but I think you should be proud of what you did here, I imagine the nature of V4 might make it seem like it wasn’t a lot. Kudos!
Small detail, but I really like Ironwood noticing and covering for Weiss. I didn't really care for him in Volume 4 whatsoever and this does a lot. Also, yes. Using a preestablished character for Oz is a very good thing.
Really like the twist there for Roman. I didn't really see it coming. I also didn't realize you rarely mentioned Oscar in this rewrite. I'm expecting how Roman survived and became Ozpin's latest reincarnate in Volume 5, and how it affects his relationships with Ruby and Neo. I'm sure you left the explanation out this volume to get our heads thinking. I enjoyed this rewrite, as usual. Though it isn't perfect, its it's much better than RoosterTeeth's RWBY.

I feel bad about being so harsh on the Torchwick flashbacks earlier. I should have waited until the Volume was over. Because I honestly do like the idea of this criminal having a wise old man in his head and being tasked with saving the world? There's so much potential there. I can only imagine the banter between him and Ozpin lol. Plus it's hard to really miss Oscar since he wasn't much of a character. I do have a few qualms; Torchwick somehow surviving being eaten and I feel him surviving does lessen how dark V3 was and takes away the thematic meaning of his death. But I'm hoping this change will be so good that I won't care. Everything else was excellent. I love what you did with Adam and I'm actually excited to see more of him. I feel that way with Neo and basically all the characters. It's been so long since I've cared for the RWBY characters and was eager to see more so thank you for that. I am very much anticipating Volume 5.

I've rewatched the entirety of your Season 4 and the rest of the series and I have to say, you may say that you think your volume 2 and 3 is your best work in this is for purely hype alone this beats the others by a mile! I found so much enjoyment from this and can't believe I am saying this but I am looking forward to Season 5 more than almost ANYTHING the actual show can do right now. Keep up the great work and I will probably lose sleep again just so I don't miss the next one when it comes out.
The Nuckelavee is still peak Grimm design and my favourite in the series. Loved this rewrite and that twist had me actually pausing the video and walk off to process it. Well done my good man!
Found this by accident and I'm happy that I found it! :) I love the twist at the end, as much as I do kind of like the idea of Oscar and where he could have gone if handled correctly, its much better for an already established character to be Ozpins new body. He's an interesting choice and opens a lot of doors for character arcs (not just his own), he already knows bartitsu since his weapon of choice was already a cane and he knows combat in general so the story doesn't need to stop in order to educate him and us again even though we already had to go through all of this with Jaune, his personality is also very fun! I also like that small interaction between Ironwood and Weiss, he's just an awesome character.
My reaction at 27:57 could be summed up as... I AM THE STORM THAT IS APPROACHING!!! On a less enthusiastic note I really like the look you've given Adam, now he looks like he's MOTIVATED (I'll stop now) to be main antagonist material for the upcoming volume rather than some edgy construction worker.

Hats off to you. After thinking on it for a while my biggest question is where you’re going to take the apathy mini-arc. Assuming he’s going to be there with team RWBY I’m really interested to see how you handle Roman’s reaction. Since the farm will probably trigger some intense emotions for him how is the apathy going to influence him? Will he end up being more resistant to their effects or will he be the most vulnerable? Will his emotions go completely crazy? I kinda like the idea of him flipping between extreme emotion and extreme apathy but I honestly don’t know what would work best. There’s so many cool directions you could take this. Seriously, hats off for coming up with this brilliant idea. It makes the story going forwards infinitely more intriguing.
I look forward to seeing the development and the interactions of the crew when Roman comes back. Neo and Roman are like team rocket from pokemon and look forward to see the redemption arc that I personally feel teased and denied for cinder.
I know this is 9 months ago this came out, but Ive been bingeing through the lot of these, and I'm going to be honest. Ozpin becoming Roman is so much better than the whole Oscar choice. Plus the massive change on Neo this Season/Volume is phenomenal. The clean up of Blake's side is good. and I did like her volume 4 outfit more than her most recent one, but her casual and guard outfits you guys went with I think were really cute.
What the actuall fuck? Ozpin as Torchwick? That is actually awesome! I could see a clever dichomity, and we could actually gets some clever symbolism, Ozpin is Jekyll, Roman is Hyde and as they slow down into one another, do they become one? Is there really good and evil in the end.
I remember not really being interested in rwby till I read a couple cross over fics somehow it was the doom one and only got there because I saw comment talking about it on that video were doom slayer just randomly comes in ripping and tearing Salem forces then walks away realizing he's in the wrong dimension. That sent me down the rabbit hole. Been a blasting listening while driving across the country.
Seeing as you have buffed out so many of the series' rougher patches and allowed it to shine brighter and more beautifully, I have come up with a new title for your work here. We can call it: "Polished RWBY". Get it?
Dude, Roman is legit my favorite villain in the canon show. Him getting the chomp all the way back in vol 3 BROKE my heart. I have been in denial ever since, just WAITING for my boy to make his glorious return. (Side note, there is actually a fanfic out there that also puts Oz and Roman together, and its pretty damn good. Its called "My Own Worst Enemy" on Ao3 if anyone is interested). On a more general note, you sir, are magnificent. I just finished binge-watching your fixes and I am astounded. The best parts are how no character, no matter how far from center focus (with the exception of Junior and crew) are ever completely forgotten/shelved/rendered completely unimportant. Cardin's progressing personal growth, CFVY overall involvement, Neptune's significant presence in the Recovery stage. You have fleshed out all of these characters and really let them shine. (Also, Neo and Yang's new friendship is making me scream happy screams). Absolutely BRILLIANT
Roman being Oz is pretty cool. I've seen a few fics that have explored that premise, most notably My Own Worst Enemy which I highly recommend, so I'm eager to see where you go with it for Volume 5.

First off. I like the Kentucky fried qrow joke. I like how you make qrow pull rwby hand to show that he doesn’t want to lose another familiy or love one. that scene with Jaune was random and didn’t add much depth. The scene when they kill that Grimm was bad but I don’t see this any other way except maybe make ren run toward the Grimm then cut his his head off and saying saying this is kuroyuri would be much more impactful or maybe the opposite. Also Roman and oz is back. Oh boy next volume gonna crazy once Roman around. Can’t wait to see how him and ruby gonna interact. Also new ship confirm for neoXyang. Banana split
You say that Volumes 2 and 3 are still the apex of your Fixing series, but I disagree. This Volume Fixing was FANTASTIC and is my new favorite of the series. Particularly everything with Yang and Neo. Makes me wonder if you had all that stuff planned from the very beginning when you decided to expand on the Yang/Neo rivalry that was implied by the original. I hope this comment of mine ends up in the Follow-up streams so that I can get my answer. If it does; HI MOM! If there's anything I'm not sure about for this rewrite, it's holding off on the reveal of Salem (I made sure to wait until the final part before making this comment. JUST to make sure she didn't get some big reveal at the very end like in Volume 3). Maybe it's just me, but seeing as she's the main villain of the entire series, I think it'd be in the show's best interest to introduce her as soon as possible. Honestly, if I were rewriting RWBY (not counting my abridged series), I'd have Salem be introduced SOONER than the original. But that's really my only critique. Mostly because I haven't actually sat down and watched any Volumes past three. I just know their basic summaries. So if there is anything that you forgot to mention or didn't expand on, I wouldn't know about it. And on that note; I have no reason to watch real RWBY with this series around. So keep up the great work, dude! I may have dropped RWBY, but I will never drop this

So this means neo and torchwick get to reunite. Also I’m curious to see what happens when each of the kids find out. Honestly, looking back at Rwby, it makes much more sense to make a pre-existing character the new Oz than a completely new one. I can’t wait to see where you go with Roman.

Changing Ozpin into Roman is a _necessary_ change due to how little character Oscar has. I'd effectively be writing a new character from scratch anyway, so why not bring back an old favorite that could play with the idea so much more effectively?
For pairing two characters together who were never friends in the original... making them _friends_ is already kinda pushing the boundaries XD
@@CelticPhoenix Yeah. Normally with reimaginings like this, I'm bothered when they get rid of a character, no matter how small their role was, or substitue it for another. With people saying they didn't like them, or thought they were bland. Even if I myself didn't cared much about them, it stills bothers me a little, and find it unfair.
But the thing is, I realized I wasn't bothered at all by you doing this with Oscar. Like, not even a bit. I just realized watching your video how little of an impact he actually leaves.
I actually like Oscar, but iI think it says something that I didn't realize he was gone until Roman's reintroduction. Poor guy. :(
I love and absolutely adore Yang's new character arc. As someone who has had a lot of family go through things like physical therapy and trauma (including myself) this is such a good arc and far better than the one we actually got in Volume 4. It feels more fulfilling and less like an add-on. I honestly like Yang more (originally, Yang and Blake are my least liked characters in the real series) and I'm really rooting for her and Neo/Jane. I hope things go well for them (it's not like it's my new ship or anything hahahahaha--)
You know what i like about this end credits? Questions. Since we never got Oscar scenes, at this point, we don't know Ozpin can change bodies. So, when Roman comes back, we're doubly confused.

I love the Torchwick reveal! I figured all the flashbacks were meant to tie into Neo's character arc, but I was certainly not expecting a blindside by Ozpin. Can't wait to see what you do with it!
I'm surprised you didn't change the Nuck at all, especially the noodle arms. I was under the impression most people disliked the "wacky waving inflatable arm tube man" routine, or were at least put off by it. Was kinda hoping for poison breath to get it a bit closer to the mythological one. Or at least something to make it scarier.

Like DAMN, I wish I thought of that for the rewrite I've done for fun as a little side thing.
The character dynamics with Roman back in the mix can be VERY fun. Everyone's first reaction to seeing him is going to be Qrow's pretty much. While I did find Nora glomping him and calling him "cute boy Oz" funny, I'll gladly trade that gag for the gag of everyone wanting to fight him the first time they see him, with the exception of Neo of course(Although she might wanna throttle him anyways for making her think he was dead).
I'm very much looking forward to Atlas with this new Ozpin/Roman given how Roman's previous interactions with Ironwood were anything but delightful.
On ANOTHER note... This makes the joke Roman made in volume 2, "Oh look, she sent the kids again! This is turning out just like the divorce..." all the more funnier given the context of Ozpin's past.
What a twist I didn't see that coming at all
The Roman reveal was amazing! I was expecting something like that, but not at that level! Ngl, I like oscar. He's a cool kid. But man, Ozpin becoming Roman is a much better twist. You are a genius. Oscar was kind of important, but I think that killing an extended cast is a good idea. Seriously, god knows that it is needed. Also like the continuity of Ruby and Roman's wierd relationship. The deleting of Cinder scenes is a good idea as well. And THANK YOU for changing Adam's wardrobe at the end. He didn't look menacing enough in his Vol.4 outfit.
I don't know what's the more funny, the twist in the end or the fact we really should have see this one coming.

As usual, this was another fun one and the reveal at the end was definitely a highlight for the fixing RWBY. My feedback for the most part is more to do with the journey than any decisions made. Seeing as there was a fair bit of set up for next season I'll hold on a few points but here goes.

Pros.
Roman's backstory was easily the highlight of this season for me and I couldn't be any more pleased to see Oscar taking out of the plot for the absolute nothing that his addition has amounted to. Little doubt you're going to have a blast writing him going forward.
Sienna Kahn, I debate whether or not she needed to be killed off but she was well utilized in showcasing the structure and politics within the white fang. Her willingness to take on more ruthless and violent tactics inviting people like Adam and the Albain brothers into the system that undermine and challenge her authority. Though she's a stepping stone in Adam's story there's an unspoken character arc there.
Leaving Salem and her cronies as this ominous presence at the back of the audience's mind was great for building suspense while reducing the number of stories you'd have to shoehorn into the season timeline. I think overall a great job was done with the timeline of events given the flimsy explanation we've had to work with from CRWBY.
Adding Neo to Yang's plot was a surprisingly pleasant addition. Both still healing from their respective losses during the fall though some necessary liberties were taken with her characterization.

Cons
Illya's arc feels rushed and abrupt towards the end:
Between vol 4 and 5 we had a significant build-up of tension between the two leading up to the mansion fight. But due to the more slice of life/melodrama nature of Blakes plot in this rewrite, it feels like Illia goes with the nuclear option rather quickly with sending Blake to Adam. Beyond that I feel setting Illia on a path to redemption is a decision that works more to the benefit of meta reasons than story ones.
Ruby herself doesn't real feel like she gets an arc this season. Understandable seeing as she's never alone and is constantly sharing screen time with the rest of RNJR but considering it's the most character-centric season we've had I think it would have gone a long way to change things up a bit more. The scene with Jaune was a great addition and I was disappointed when we didn't attempt to get more into her own conflicts having to be the hopeful one constantly inspiring others while bottling up her own feelings.

Not a shipping take but in terms of raw character dynamics, I Always felt Sun was a natural fit for Blake with their contrasting personalities.
That reveal at the end was brilliant.

I haven't even watched the first episode of volume 8 and i already know this is far better then whatever the entirety of volume 8 has in store for me.

So, that’s why there were Torchwick flashbacks in this volume. I like it. My only worry is how you’re gonna handle volume 5: if you expand upon how every team member gets to Mistral, you could probably fit the volume into 20-24 episodes. Then again, Volume 5 is notorious for sidestepping the questions on the fans’ minds until the next volume; if you’re keeping Maria for the rewrite, that is.

OOOOH the team's reaction to Roman is going to be VERY interesting....
With Cardin heading to Mistral, I assume he'll meet up with RNJRQ and let them know how things at Vale have been going. I'm looking even more forward to what they're doing with the man with the anagram of Oscar except with an M instead of C (it took me until rewatc to catch that, assuming that was intentional)
This is probably my fav of the rewrites so far, though I do have one bit of criricism. Given that the last time Nora and Phyrra interacted in V3 was pretty hested and negative, and the latter is dead now, I'd assume Nora would take that pretty hard, even worse than she probably would have if didn't have a fight and moment of being distant/standoffish as their final interactions. Nora does have moments of recoil and shame whenever Phyrra comes up in some way here, but you'd think she'd beat herself up for this given they never got to resolve their spat and go back to being friends before Phyrra died. Perhaps Fixing RWBY V5 could explore more of how she deals with that like with Ruby and Jaune in the V4 rewrite, especially since it would have probably been a bit hard to cram in a scene like that here with how much was alteady going on.
Hats off to you as usual, and I loom forward to both the lonh form video version of this and the V5 rewrite next year.
I genuinely screamed when the reveal happened in the after credits scene, interesting choice over the canon character
Well now... that's a monkey wrench I did *not* expect. Neo bonding with Yang and Ozma's soul bonding with Torchwick might be the biggest deviation yet. Not because it shunts Oscar off the stage but because Ozma's new host is already a fairly talented combatant (albeit one without a Semblance... yet.) and a scheming savant and most importantly, Neo no longer has any reason to join Cinder's entourage, even if Roman *wasn't* somehow alive I think Neo's newfound friendship would've helped her process his death by then or at the very least, blunt her desire for revenge as Ruby's death would *devastate* Yang in turn.
This in turn means that Cinder and Salem won't have a ready means of securing the Relic of Knowledge since Neo's incredible infiltration talents are no longer at their disposal. Or at least... you'll have to be creative in finding another way for them to do so.

Thank you for the rewrite. As someone who love stories and writes them as well. I actually come to your channel to gain motivation to press on, as you write this series. Somehow I learn more from your rewrites then most of my classes on pacing, setup and payoff, and a few others. Just know I learn a lot from these videos and will continue to watch till the heart wrenching end.

I just found this series last night, and obviously I've been enjoying it, and there have been several moments where I went "man, I really wish this was how it had happened in canon." But the Roman thing? I sat up on my couch and cheered. God damn, man. Absolutely friggin' brilliant.

Sorry for the long post but hopefully you know my vibe since I’ve done this for other volumes!This turned out to be very interesting overall and a lot of questionable things pay offed very well. Roman and Neo both with surprised heading to a colliding course keeps things exciting especially seeing how this will affect his dynamic with the others. Glad how Yangs plot line was more of a slow burn. It gave her more room to breathe as a character. As a Black dude, Blake storyline still leaves me weirded out but I at least feel you did decently with what you had to work with . I’m especially glad you don’t have her give that horrible speech at the end of V5. I always already like RNJR in the show so the little things you did differently was nice too. Lastly tying up where the other teams are going is really cool since it gives you room to look at the other academies or pocket them for future storylines. Sort of like the Supernovas if you read One Piece.Stuff like Velvet and Cardin being the point of view we see Beacon being rebuilt does go a long way in making RWBY feel more lived in beyond what we see from the Main Characters. I can make a different post for V5 ideas and theories but I think you should be proud of what you did here, I imagine the nature of V4 might make it seem like it wasn’t a lot. Kudos!

Small detail, but I really like Ironwood noticing and covering for Weiss. I didn't really care for him in Volume 4 whatsoever and this does a lot.
Also, yes. Using a preestablished character for Oz is a very good thing.

I'm expecting how Roman survived and became Ozpin's latest reincarnate in Volume 5, and how it affects his relationships with Ruby and Neo. I'm sure you left the explanation out this volume to get our heads thinking.
I enjoyed this rewrite, as usual. Though it isn't perfect, its it's much better than RoosterTeeth's RWBY.

And seriously thank you again for making someone with actual depth as a character Ozpins new vessel, especially such an amazing foil as Roman Torchwick. I feel bad about being so harsh on the Torchwick flashbacks earlier. I should have waited until the Volume was over. Because I honestly do like the idea of this criminal having a wise old man in his head and being tasked with saving the world? There's so much potential there. I can only imagine the banter between him and Ozpin lol. Plus it's hard to really miss Oscar since he wasn't much of a character. I do have a few qualms; Torchwick somehow surviving being eaten and I feel him surviving does lessen how dark V3 was and takes away the thematic meaning of his death. But I'm hoping this change will be so good that I won't care.
Everything else was excellent. I love what you did with Adam and I'm actually excited to see more of him. I feel that way with Neo and basically all the characters. It's been so long since I've cared for the RWBY characters and was eager to see more so thank you for that. I am very much anticipating Volume 5.

I've rewatched the entirety of your Season 4 and the rest of the series and I have to say, you may say that you think your volume 2 and 3 is your best work in this is for purely hype alone this beats the others by a mile! I found so much enjoyment from this and can't believe I am saying this but I am looking forward to Season 5 more than almost ANYTHING the actual show can do right now. Keep up the great work and I will probably lose sleep again just so I don't miss the next one when it comes out.

I love the twist at the end, as much as I do kind of like the idea of Oscar and where he could have gone if handled correctly, its much better for an already established character to be Ozpins new body. He's an interesting choice and opens a lot of doors for character arcs (not just his own), he already knows bartitsu since his weapon of choice was already a cane and he knows combat in general so the story doesn't need to stop in order to educate him and us again even though we already had to go through all of this with Jaune, his personality is also very fun!
I also like that small interaction between Ironwood and Weiss, he's just an awesome character.

On a less enthusiastic note I really like the look you've given Adam, now he looks like he's MOTIVATED (I'll stop now) to be main antagonist material for the upcoming volume rather than some edgy construction worker.

After thinking on it for a while my biggest question is where you’re going to take the apathy mini-arc. Assuming he’s going to be there with team RWBY I’m really interested to see how you handle Roman’s reaction. Since the farm will probably trigger some intense emotions for him how is the apathy going to influence him? Will he end up being more resistant to their effects or will he be the most vulnerable? Will his emotions go completely crazy? I kinda like the idea of him flipping between extreme emotion and extreme apathy but I honestly don’t know what would work best. There’s so many cool directions you could take this.
Seriously, hats off for coming up with this brilliant idea. It makes the story going forwards infinitely more intriguing.

I know this is 9 months ago this came out, but Ive been bingeing through the lot of these, and I'm going to be honest. Ozpin becoming Roman is so much better than the whole Oscar choice. Plus the massive change on Neo this Season/Volume is phenomenal. The clean up of Blake's side is good. and I did like her volume 4 outfit more than her most recent one, but her casual and guard outfits you guys went with I think were really cute.
What the actuall fuck? Ozpin as Torchwick? That is actually awesome! I could see a clever dichomity, and we could actually gets some clever symbolism, Ozpin is Jekyll, Roman is Hyde and as they slow down into one another, do they become one? Is there really good and evil in the end.

Dude, Roman is legit my favorite villain in the canon show. Him getting the chomp all the way back in vol 3 BROKE my heart. I have been in denial ever since, just WAITING for my boy to make his glorious return. (Side note, there is actually a fanfic out there that also puts Oz and Roman together, and its pretty damn good. Its called "My Own Worst Enemy" on Ao3 if anyone is interested). On a more general note, you sir, are magnificent. I just finished binge-watching your fixes and I am astounded. The best parts are how no character, no matter how far from center focus (with the exception of Junior and crew) are ever completely forgotten/shelved/rendered completely unimportant. Cardin's progressing personal growth, CFVY overall involvement, Neptune's significant presence in the Recovery stage. You have fleshed out all of these characters and really let them shine. (Also, Neo and Yang's new friendship is making me scream happy screams). Absolutely BRILLIANT

First off. I like the Kentucky fried qrow joke. I like how you make qrow pull rwby hand to show that he doesn’t want to lose another familiy or love one. that scene with Jaune was random and didn’t add much depth. The scene when they kill that Grimm was bad but I don’t see this any other way except maybe make ren run toward the Grimm then cut his his head off and saying saying this is kuroyuri would be much more impactful or maybe the opposite. Also Roman and oz is back. Oh boy next volume gonna crazy once Roman around. Can’t wait to see how him and ruby gonna interact. Also new ship confirm for neoXyang. Banana split
You say that Volumes 2 and 3 are still the apex of your Fixing series, but I disagree. This Volume Fixing was FANTASTIC and is my new favorite of the series. Particularly everything with Yang and Neo. Makes me wonder if you had all that stuff planned from the very beginning when you decided to expand on the Yang/Neo rivalry that was implied by the original. I hope this comment of mine ends up in the Follow-up streams so that I can get my answer.

If there's anything I'm not sure about for this rewrite, it's holding off on the reveal of Salem (I made sure to wait until the final part before making this comment. JUST to make sure she didn't get some big reveal at the very end like in Volume 3). Maybe it's just me, but seeing as she's the main villain of the entire series, I think it'd be in the show's best interest to introduce her as soon as possible. Honestly, if I were rewriting RWBY (not counting my abridged series), I'd have Salem be introduced SOONER than the original. But that's really my only critique. Mostly because I haven't actually sat down and watched any Volumes past three. I just know their basic summaries. So if there is anything that you forgot to mention or didn't expand on, I wouldn't know about it.
And on that note; I have no reason to watch real RWBY with this series around. So keep up the great work, dude! I may have dropped RWBY, but I will never drop this
