I'm delighted to tell you, that Melli & I had the honour to get an interview with Visions Of Atlantis' singer Clémentine Delauney. We had the chance to meet her and record this video before VoA's headline show at Metal Female League Fest in Lessines, Belgium on August 7th, 2021.
We talked about her move to Italy, the studio work at the beginning of the year and of course the new album.

I met her in 2013 in Cologne at a Serenity concert.😍 I think there were a total of 400 people there so very personal compared to the big concerts. There was even the possibility to talk with the band after the show :)
Saw Visions for the first time on March 8, 2022 here in San Diego and loved their performance. Great music and Incredible vocals!!! Meet Thomas and Michele after their set. I am now a fan🤘😎🤘

I'll tell you what else is special about Clementine. Because her English is SO good and she's so articulate in our lanquage, , her lyric writing is of the highest quality. This is in SHARP contrast to other continental Metal Bands who write in English (even the best - I won't name them - hehe), who's English lyric writing is - ahem - to put it mildly, questionable.
12:58 'quarantined the musicality of everything' !!! Good God - she needs to be lecturing on this stuff at an English University. Super bright. I gonna use that expression myself now and pretend it's my own - hehe. For sure she is by far the most articulate (in English) of any female Metal vocalist in the world- that I've heard.
What's she like in her own language? (can a French person answer that please 😉)

8:14 - Really interesting. How does that work? When I write a song it's always done on an acoustic piano cos that's what inspires me. The lyrics usually come at the same time as the music but I don't have other instruments in the background to inspire those lyrics. It's just piano. I arrange it for other instruments afterwards - so it's kinda the other way round to her.
So is Clementine saying she's putting the lyrics to an already existing arrangement of the song without lyrics? Love to get to the bottom of this ....

I recorded the video with my Canon Eos 6D ll and for the sound I used the Rode Rycote VideoMic.
7:34 - literally, how does she do that??? She's defying gravity and by all the laws of physics should be flat on her back. Yeah - she is the mysterious 'Dark Energy' of Metal at the moment.
