When I said my #3 I actually said #4 , sorry about that , but I just finished a large coffee & the caffeine kicked in 😂 or something like that ! Take care ~ Darcy
Death Angel have so many jewels nicely dispersed in each of their nine albums! I never really want to skip a track when I'm devoting listening time to this band. Been a fan since their 1st release, but really sat up and took more notice when the video for "Bored" premiered (listening to that 60-second opening STILL fires up the adrenaline)! My favorites rotate in the rankings from time to time (love them all). The Ultra-Violence sits at number one. Act III is insanely special as well... I like the shift they took there. I really dig the last four they put out, too. As of late, I've probably been listening to Humanicide the most out of those. Love the Evil Divide album cover (Bob Tyrrell designed it). Awesome ranking video, Darcy - well done! Take care my friend :)
I’ve really enjoyed the past 4 albums , already looking forward to the next one ! Ha ha yeah the beginning of Bored always fires me up too ! Thanks as always for taking the time to watch , much appreciated ! Take care my friend 🤘
My ranking for the Death Angel albums would be 9. Killing Season 8. The Evil Divide 7. Relentless Retribution 6. Humanicide 5. The Dream Calls For Blood 4. The Art Of Dying 3. The Ultra Violence 2. Frolic Through The Park 1. Act III
I enjoyed this video. This is the first ranking video where I would rank exactly the same. Great minds think a like. A great band and a class act. Got to see them live twice last year and both times the band came out to the lobby and talked with fans, signed stuff and took pictures. They were there for about 30 minutes. I bought a Tour shirt and they thanked me for buying it and took some pics with me. Now a days, most bands charge VIP prices for the same quick meet and greet. I look forward to the Saxon ranking video. Never got very deep into their catalogue but will start with your top 5. Take care Darcy.
Great mind 🤔 You’ll have to ask my wife about that lol . Last night I watched two videos where Rob & Ted did a rig rundown , showed their whole setup & their guitars , they are so passionate about what they do & seem like the nicest guys you’d ever want to meet , I’m happy you got meet them ... class act for sure ! Thank you as always for hanging out with me 🤘 always appreciated :))
Very nice ranking! I saw Death Angel on their Humanicide tour, and they just blew me away, covering their whole career. Opening with The Moth, closing the Encore with Kill as One...it was an awesome concert, in a small club, all packed with Metal Heads. Personally, in the late 80's, they flew a bit under my radar, and I rediscovered the old stuff (and enjoyed it!) when I started listening to the newer albums. Death Angel is such a great band! And Darcy, please keep going!
Glad to see your number 1 being at thd top. I agree it showcased they do. Certainly my fave from day one. The band themselves hate Frolic and although I don't hate it it's the weakest of the early stuff. I put them to bed in 2004 after that album. I thought it was an OK album but I also knew I was done and didn't need anything else. All power to them though, they've come back and have fit right in and play the Nuclear Blast game perfectly. They've probably had some advice from Chuck. PS - Did you hear the scream at thd beginning on Seamingly? Just before the drums start. Lots miss it.
Lol ya I knew that would make you smile , hey give credit were credit is due , it’s a fine #1 ! I don’t know if I consciously ever heard that scream , it’s really faint & could be easily missed ! BTW I’ve always loved Andy’s almost frantic drumming style ! Cheers my friend 🤘
Dive into this great review today. Not a big fan and see them some years ago but never get into them. The ultra violence and act 3 on my vinyl wishlist now. Thanks man.
Great video! I have made it through most of your back catalogue, I think I only have 5-6 videos left. Keep them coming, I have discovered alot of great bands that I have missed or have forgotten about from watching your channel. Thanks for what you do buddy!
@@layn3904 You are very welcome! Definitely time for album #10, should be coming in 2025. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 🤘 Stay Heavy ~ Darcy
Death Angel is one of my favorite metal bands. Act III is the bands best. I love The Ultra Violence. The third album I like is Frolic Through The Park. I have enjoyed all their albums. I also have some t-shirts on them as well.
I am basically in agreement with this list, the midera post Act III is on the lower end and the early stuff along with their latest is on the higher end. I would switch Humanicide and ED and the last two is also a tossup with me favoring Ultra slightly over Act III most of the time but not always. Nice ranking Darcy! 🤘🏼
Hi Darcy ,greetings from Brooklyn New York Death angel somehow got by me back in the 80s. I saw them open for Testament in 2022 , thought they were great So I started checking out all there albums. I feel like there 2/3 versions of the band The first 3 albums are your classic 80s thrash Then 4 and 5 are middle ground ,a mix of original sound with some of the new modern sound Albums 6 through 9 are incredibly heavy ( New producer ,new members ) Still can't rank them ,my favorite . changes every day .As always thanks for this post.
You summed that up perfectly Michael … classic albums … comeback albums … modern day ( since Relentless Retribution to Humanicide ) all good in my opinion ! You’re welcome and thanks for the great comment 🤘 Cheers from Canada
Hey Darcy, I totally agree with this list... Act III is my favorite Death Angel album, I wish they played more from that album live. I remember when Act III came out it totally blew my mind, excellent pick!!!
I often think what would of happened if Death Angel stayed together from ‘91-‘01 , sure would’ve been cool to hear what the album that followed Act III would of been like , sorry I’m just thinking out loud lol . Yes they need a show where the play Act III in its entirety ! Cheers Leonardo 🤘 Stay Safe
Thanks for this video, Darcy! Here's my opinion: 1) Act III 2) Frolic through the Park 3) The Ultra-Violence The rest of the catalog is very good too, but I've always stuck on those first three... I saw them live on Kuusrock Festival, Oulu ,Finland in july 1988. They were a headline act and It was great & wild gig, but they had to stop after 45 minutes because the festival schelude running out of time... Cheers from Finland! 🤘 🍻
Awesome Top 3 ! I wish I could go back in time and see them live in ‘87 - ‘90 period , I’m happy to hear you got see them back in the day ! Keep the metal strong in Finland my friend 🤘 Take Care ~ Darcy
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 I will, my friend! 🤘 btw, that same festival day there was also U.D.O. earlier in the afternoon, which was a great to see too! They played lots of Accept songs which makes me smile then! Great memories...
Killer ranking , I’m a huge Death Angel fan , i got into them when Frolic was first released and they’ve been in my personal Big4 ever since, Killing Season is actually my favorite of the more recent, but i think they all kick ass👍🤘🤘I have the same top 2 but reversed the Organization kick ass too as well as Swarm!!!
Thanks Aaron ! Yeah your right , they all kick ass lol . Death Angel have always been in my other Big 4 with Overkill , Testament & Exodus , all crushing it to this day !! Hope your enjoying some NFL , I’m watching TNF right now 🏈
Hey Darcy! Love the ranking vids! I’m still missing a good chunk of there discography, but love what I own so far.so hard to believe how young they were when they recorded there debut album.its one of the best thrash debuts ever. Anyway, great video, stay healthy and as always, heavy! 🤟👊🏻
Hey Darcy! What’s up? Great video! I know it couldn’t be easy with Death Angel. I totally agree that they have such an awesome library and the albums are all very good. Personally I wouldn’t change anything. If I remember correctly it was Frolic Through the Park was my first album I bought solely because of the Cold Gin cover! So that cover got me into Death Angel!! Lol... Act III is such a masterpiece!!! The first time I played that album it totally blew me away! Til this day it’s still one of my all time favorite metal albums. Great job Darcy. I hope you and your family are well!!! Until next time my friend stay heavy!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thanks brother ! I know which one you’d have a little higher lol . That #3 #4 #5 super tight , #5 could easily jump to #3 at anytime ! Be safe , be heavy 🤘
Great number one album, Act III is a fantastic album and yes definitely in my top 5, awesome ranking brother 5. Humanicide 4. Frolic Through the Park 3. The Art of Dying 2. Act III 1. The Ultra Violence Death Angel has always been one of my fave thrash bands, seems like every album they release just gets better and better, sorta like Overkill, the last 4-5 albums have all been wicked and the last DA album - Humanicide is such a killer album, I definitely need to try and finish this discography, hope you're doing well bro, cheers
Death Angel & Overkill have had a fantastic run over the past 10 years , definitely two of my favourite thrash bands ! Great top 5 brother ! I’m doing great , a little sad that lake season is coming to end , we took everything out of the water last weekend , f#%k did that summer blow by ! Cheers from Saskatchewan 🍻
9. Killing Season 8. The Art Of Dying 7. Relentless Retribution 6. Humanicide 5. The Dream Calls For Blood 4. Frolic Through The Park 3. The Ultra-Violence 2. Act 3 1. The Evil Divide
Great job on this ranking Darcy! As you said, that period where they reunited & then the albums with the new line up, is tough to call! My top 2 is almost impossible for me to decide on! The Ultraviolence is a better album imo, but Act 3 has some of my favourite songs on it, if that make sense!! Great to see you mate & great video as always!!🤘🏻
Yes that makes perfect sense ! We all tend to gravitate to those albums we grew up with , but with that said I tell people don’t sleep on these newer albums , they bring it every time & I love it ! Always great to hear from you my friend 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Hi Darcy!! cool ranking for an awesome band. I'm super late for DA's party back in the day they totally pass me by, right now i have not heard all of their albums, neither have any on physical format, but i agree Act III is really great and kind of different in sound when you compare it to the rest of their catalogue. Cheers and take care
Great band. Death Angel I seen August 1988 with Vio-lence, Testament and September 2012 with Testament and Anthrax. The Ultra Violence is my favorite album. 🎸🤘
I’m definitely jealous , I’ve never seen Death Angel live , I hope I can next tour ! That’s so cool that you saw them 24 years apart ! Oh it’s fun to be a lifelong metalhead 🤘 Take care William
Cool story I saw an ad of free CDs on Kijiji a few months ago and there was mint Death Angel box set called Archives and Artifacts that has the first two albums, a rarities album + dvd in a special emerald colored jewel cases...........and the box also had The Third Act! I haven't had time to listen but looks like I'm in for a treat. Really interested in a Motorhead ranking as during these last months I went and bought like 90% of their discography LMAO as well as Saxon....just missing a Innocence is no excuse lol. Cheers Darcy really enjoy your videos and have picked quite a few things thanks to your videos.
Wow that’s awesome , nothing beats free ! I think you’ll really enjoy that box set , cool that it comes with a DVD ! Thank you for the kind words Steve & I’m sorry for being a good/bad influence on your wallet 😬
Hallo my friend ! I love your ranking Videos but this time I cannot join the discussion because I have only the "Humanicide" Album of them 🙄 Greetz and stay heavy,Heiko
Hey Heiko 👋 I always appreciate you stopping by my friend ! Time to look for some more Death Angel for your collection ha ha , Humanicide is a good start ! Cheers 🤘 Stay Heavy
Excellent ranking I love all death angel and I definitely agree with the killing season would be the weakest and seems more punky still a descent album though. The debut the ultra violent is still my favorite and mistress of pain was the very first song I ever heard by death angel way back around 1988 when I was 9. Take care Darcy and keep it metal as always 🤘🏼
I just bought the Art of Dying and Killing Kind today. Ordered the three Wolfpack cds from Nuclear blast. Already had Act III, evil divide & thrashumentary. I saw them headline on the Act III tour with Forbidden (twisted into form tour for them) Have you seen the Nuclear Blast black friday sale? I got two of those "Wolfpack" cds for $5.19...and they are both with dvd. I'm trying to get the Archives box, so I can get the first two. Or an ebay listing with the first two, the live one and Act III for a car copy hahaha
Thanks very much ! The Ultra-Violence is a real bitch to get & usually at ridiculous prices , I hope you find one ! Thanks for stopping by 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Great list. I own most of the band's catalogue on cd, with the exception of The Ultra Violence and The Art Of Dying. Currently looking for their debut. Unfortunately, most of the ones available online are russian bootlegs. Haven't listened to these guys in quite some time. Will start spinning those albums again today. Thanks as always for your amazing contribution. Cheers my friend 🤘 🍻.
Thanks for the kind words ! I always look forward to hanging out with everybody in the comment section & try to always get back to everyone ! It’s time for a reissue for The Ultra-Violence , I’m not sure who has the rights to it , possibly Metal Blade maybe ! Have fun spinning some Death Angel 🤘 Cheers my friend :))
Another killer ranking man. 🤘. I agree with frolic good album just a few tracks that are meh. But I love them all. Still missing a couple tho. I would go ultra violence as #1 but hard decision indeed. 🤘Wicked video🤘
Nice ranking. I discovered them probably in the late 00s I particularly like their last two albums. Can't argue with your top 4, like you say fractions between them. 🤘
Ive been a fan since i heard the riff for bored on headbangers ball when it came out but i have to be honest i would put the dream calls for blood in the top 3 if not #2 behind act 3. The song succubus is probably my favorite all time death angel track.
I definitely should of mentioned the song Succubus , awesome track ! The Dream Calls For Blood is a great album , arguably one of their heaviest ! I remember watching the video for Bored on The Pepsi Power Hour , awe the good old days ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
I'm actually more of a modern Death Angel fan. Back in the day I actually didn't care much for them. I remember listening to their earlier albums from friends of mine and thinking that they was ok. I guess I was just more into Slayer and Megadeth and Metallica and Mercyful Fate and Venom and Queensryche and Savatage and some other great groups at the time. There was so many really great groups back then and only so much money in our pockets. it was alot harder to buy every album that was coming out back then. Those was definitely the greatest years for Metal 1980's to the mid 1990's I'd say. Not many great Metal groups formed after the mid 90's in my opinion. A few here and there. It was sure great growing up in those days. It was a very special time for being a Metal Head back then. People all around could tell that we was Metal Heads we paraded it all around and was very proud of what we was and still am to this day. IRON in our Blood and METAL in our souls. Keep safe Metal brother Darcy.\m/
Your right it was impossible to keep up with everything back in the day & still is today ! I couldn’t of said that better myself my friend , I’ve always been proud of being a metalhead & always will be ! Keep flying the metal flag brother 🤘
I was an 80's thrasher/hardcore punk, and I'm the opposite. I really don't care for their new material with the current line up. I had Ultraviolence in the 80s but most of my thrash taste was Slayer, Sodom, Kreator, Venom, Mercyful Fate, Voivod, Celtic Frost, Exodus, and Sepultura, Nuclear Assault. Then of course DRI, Cryptic Slaughter, Septic Death, The Accused, Agnostic Front, Cro-mags, Napalm Death. etc. I was into faster, heavier, and darker than the more mainstream acts like Megadeth, Anthrax, Testament etc. I was in the same boat regarding money, but I scoured the monthly metal mags every month, and watched Power Hour/Loud religiously. Heard about a lot of bands but there was no youtube to go check 'em out so I had to order everything by mail. Now I get to check out bands that I couldn't back then. Greatest find: Coroner. I love them. I've become a bit of an Amazon warrior lol. But man I loved the 90's metal. I was so sick of thrash in general by the 90s. The only thrash bands I kept up with in the 90s was Slayer and Sepultura, and Sacred Reich until they broke up. But I've never stopped being a Motorhead fan since the 80s. So many damn good bands came out like Cathedral, White Zombie, Rollins Band(carry over from the 80s), Fear Factory, Godflesh, Machinehead. I also got really into some death metal bands like Carcass, Entombed( I was a huge Entombed fan in the 90's and still am), Obituary(still an all time favorite band). My love for Hardcore carried over into the 90s and I was still into Agnostic Front, then I got into Biohazard and Sick of it All, Madball big time. I sold all my thrash albums in the 90s because they gathered dust. I loved heavy music in the 90s. I think the 90s is when not just metal, but heavy music in general, just became more diverse and really started to be innovative. I got back into thrash in the early 2000s when I picked up Testament's First Strike Still Deadly and it brought back a lot of nostalgia for me, so I rebought all the albums from Nuclear Assault, Sacred Reich, Testament, Exodus, Megadeth, Anthrax, Overkill, Forced Entry, Voivod, and I kept buying all the new albums until about last year when I finally admitted to myself that I had gotten bored of thrash again by 2010, was still buying all the albums and not listening to them. So then I sold all the modern thrash albums, and just kept what I felt were "classic line up" albums for nostalgia purposes. I think with thrash the only bands I listen to consistently still is Kreator, Sodom, Celtic Frost, Coroner, Voivod, Slayer(80s and 90s stuff)and early Metallica & early Megadeth(up to Youthanasia). I also love Anthrax still. Strangely enough the metal I'm most into now is NWOBHM/classic metal and Death metal/Grindcore/hardcore punk and 70's heavy rock. Around 2006 I just started to come full circle and rediscover the metal that got me into metal eg. Iron Maiden, Dio, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Ozzy. What made me rediscover this love was the game Brutal Legend. lol. In the last couple years I've gotten back into Armored Saint, Raven, Metal Church, Twisted Sister, Grim Reaper. Thanks to youtube I was able to discover Pentagram, Witchfinder General, Trouble, Satan, Blitzkreig, Budgie, The Stooges, Lucifer's Friend. etc. Thrash metal very rarely gets listened to and only when I'm feeling nostalgic. Sorry for the long message.
@@Gregbaltzer I've always really liked most of the groups you have mentioned. I've always loved Agnostic Front and the Cro-mags. The Cro-mags have released their newest album this year and in my opinion it is pretty dam awesome! Don't know if you knew that or not? \m/
I tried to get into Death Angel like 15 years ago. So I researched a little bit to see what album I should get. The consensus seemed to be that Act III was their best album, so I picked it up. It totally turned me off. It's so polished and neutered for a thrash album. It reminded me of Empire by Queensryche with the layout, song titles and general feel. Totally turned me off the band. I've always wanted to get The Ultra-Violence. Unfortunately it's a bit hard to find, especially on the cheap. I heard a track off of The Dream Calls For Blood that sounded pretty thrashy. I'm just not generally that big on 2000's thrash. It's kind of how I feel about modern Over Kill; it's proficient and totally professional, but it doesn't hit me in the heart like the good old 80's thrash. The Germans have been the only ones to keep me legitimately interested throughout the 2000's. Anyway, thanks for the informative video. 🤘
While I've not heard all of there albums yet, my list would be a little different. I think Humanicide is the weakest of the last four! yeah, I just said that! If Act II is your number one then I need to revisit it, the funk element always put me off. Great ranking video once again! Keep em coming!
Lol yes you said that ! I think out of the past 4 Humanicide is the most melodic & a wee bit less heavy than the previous three , I think you might see that pattern continue on the next album ! For funk sakes get that Act III spinning 🤣 Cheers Andy
Cool! First time I see Death Angel in this kind of video. I think everything they have released is pretty decent, nothing really top notch, except for The Ultra-Violence which is absolutly magnificent. Thrown to the Wolves is probably my favorite non TUV-track.
I love doing ranking videos , it’s fun to read the comments & see what other people are thinking or how they view a bands discography ! Thrown To The Wolves is a great track ! I hope they loosen things up a bit on the next album , everything doesn’t need to sound perfect , if you know what I mean ! Take care my friend 🤘
I got into Death Angel’s music after seeing them live. Sometimes if you see band live it is hard to enjoy music if song aren’t so familiar. But with DA I didn’t have that problem. It was rocking. I had listened some DA before gig but it wasn’t in my blood. Still I haven’t bought any album. I liked also their live album. It was so energy. mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
I haven’t seen them live , I bet the show you saw was awesome , they always seem fully of energy ! I have their live album Sonic German Beatdown , it’s killer ! Take care Mr.Finglish 🤘
Thanks for this video. I can only rank the Death Angels albums that I have, so my ranking goes like this: 1. Act III 2. The Ultra-Violence 3. The Art of Dying 4. Frolic through the Park 5. Killing Season
Great ranking... finally someone honors death angel👍 Im also into this from the start... but somehow never got into their debut. Gave it a try lately, but i dont know, it feels so imature... love hell awaits, spreading the disease or bonded by blood. But the ultra violence never hooked me My ranking would be 01. Act III (love stagnant) 02. Humanicide 03. Dream calls for blood 04. Frolic through the Park 05. The evil divide 06. Relentless retribution 07. Killing season 08. The Art of dying 09. The ultra violence
Thanks very much & thank you for sharing your ranking , you have a good mix of new & old ! Time to go crank Voracious Souls , that will fire you up ha ha ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 always a pleasure 😉 Theres nothing as talking about good music... maybe listening to music😎 And you know what? I give the ultra violence another chance... there must be something about it So i take a break on rush right now and go on with some good old thrash🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 absolutely! Everytime i listen to rush... its hard to stop. Wish I have sone death angel CDs. The first three I positively love. Did not know they were back until 2015 and still have not heard anything post Act III.

Great band. I saw them on the Act III tour in 1990, Forbidden was the opening act. Both bands were at their prime. It was a great show. Is your channel named after the Helix song Six Strings, Nine Lives? Great, song, from great album & band. Helix was my first concert. I saw them on the Wild in the Streets tour in London Ontario. I think they are underrated and better than many of the US hard rock/metal bands who achieved success in the 80s.
Yes, that is exactly the song my channel is named after. Love Helix, especially the 80s albums! Yes, you’re definitely right they are underrated. Thanks for watching 🤘 Gimme a R-O-C-K haha
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Hi Darcy. Re Voivod. Big fan of KT and DH. Would like to get another couple of their albums. Not the whole discog (maybe later!) Any recommendations?. I suppose any of them would be cool. Cheers 🤘👍
Everybody's #1 DA album is Act III but sounds crazy but as much as i love their experimentation with different sounds such as funk i feel like they toned down the energy and included soft songs which i did not like and i listened to it during my workout and i was turned me off completely My #1 Will always be The Ultra Violence mostly because of how loud and reckless that album was and i was amazed on how such young teenagers could make such a loud sounding album with such a quality
Awesome ranking for an awesome thrash band. I probably would change around 1 or 2 in the top 5 but like you said they are too close to worry about. My favourite changes all the time!! You should have shown the vinyl for #1😉 cheers brother
Good morning DOOMinator ☕️ I have three on vinyl , had them all sitting right by my feet , do you think I could remember to show them , you know how that video goes so well in your head & you forget everything when you press record 🤣
Darcy Six Strings Nine Lives yep 👍 been there done that as they say. Lol 😂 just had some lunch 🍔1:20pm over here, coffee was a few hours ago for me. Traveling for work so started at 5am today, gonna be a long 2 days in the rain.😝 which other albums do ya have on vinyl from DA?
Darcy Six Strings Nine Lives I agree it’s a real head truck to try to figure out time differences. I actually remember now that you told me which other DA vinyl you had. Hanging out for some reissues hopefully.
Darcy Six Strings Nine Lives forgot to mention that Onslaught are getting 3 albums reissued on back on black in November. Hanging out for a copy of killing peace which is the perfect blend of thrash and groove imo 🤘
Thanks very much Micheal ! My Doro/Warlock collection still needs some work , so hopefully down the line I will ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
I sold all my albums with the current line up. I just don't like them as much, not saying they're not good, I just don't like the music now as much. I also don't like the production and wish they'd have worked with a new producer. The last album I really listened to a lot was Killing Seasons, and I loved The Art of Dying, which I think is their third best album after The Ultraviolence(#1) and Act 3(#2). I'd put Frolic Through the Park at #4. I really only enjoyed the first and last songs in The Evil Divide and that was what cost me the interest in this band going forward. Other than the title track, the Dream Calls for Blood didn't grab me. I really love Relentless Retribution when it came out but it eventually fell off into the "never to be listened to again" stack of CD. I am for sure excited for the new Benediction album, new Carcass ep, new Sodom, and new Napalm Death. That'll be my listening pleasure for the end of the year.
Hey Greg 👋 sorry for the late reply ! I agree with you 100% on the production/producer , I really enjoyed the last 4 albums , but let’s be honest it’s time to change it up a bit ! Oh ya Sodom , almost forgot about that one , if the latest ep is any indication we are in for a treat ! Always nice to hear from you 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
🤣😂 that’s priceless! This is why I love the comment section ha ha. Thanks for taking the time to hang out with me, always appreciated 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Death Angel is a killer band but I don’t favorites album from them. I saw the band like 3-4 years ago with Slayer & Anthrax and let me tell you they kick ass & In your face show.... killer show & killer lineup . Take care & stay Metal 🤘
Act III is my favourite too. I get shit from a couple buddies for picking that one over Ultra-Violence because they think it’s too clean. But it’s always been my favourite. I think Death Angel and Testament are the two most consistent thrash bands. Not a dud in the Catalogue.
1. The Ultra-Violence 2. The Art of Dying 3. The Evil Divide 4. Humanicide 5. Act III 6. Frolic through the Park 7. The Dream Calls for Blood 8. Relentless Retribution 9. Killing Season
Have you ever gotten into Nevermore? That would be a good ranking video. And if you haven't listened to them, check them out. Beside email, what is a good way to message you? You don't have messanger do you? I know you are not on Facebook
The first Death Angel album I heard was The Dream Calls For Blood. I also have Humanicide and The Evil Divide but I need to to get more of their stuff. They are a criminally underrated band. Also, I have do ask what is the point in collecting cassettes? They dont sound as good as vinyl or CD, and they dont offer the convenience of starting at whatever spot you want (unless you like rewinding). Is it more nostalgia than anything else? Not bashing, just curious. Take care, man.
The few cassettes I do buy are only for nostalgic reasons , I grew up on cassettes & when a few companies started putting them out I thought how cool is that , to be honest I have no intentions of opening them lol . Ok you have a few of the newer albums , you should definitely check out their early stuff ! Cheers Josh 🤘 Stay Heavy
Their is a box set that’s coming out October 2 called “ The Enigma Years 1987 - 1990 “ , it includes the first two albums , Fall From Grace , Rarities & Kill As One demo , definitely something I’m going to pick up ! Take care Stuart 🤘 Thrash It Up !
I had all their albums up to Evil Divide but I found I was listening to them less and less with each new release so I sold everything with the current line up, it just doesn't interest me as much as their early stuff. First 4 albums are the best for me. Ultraviolence being #1 and Act 3 #2. But I'd have to put Art of Dying at #4. I think it's a fantastic album and better than anything they released after it. I extremely disliked Evil Divide. I found only the first and last song interesting and I was indifferent to everything in between.
Im actually not a fan of act 3. Its my first da album I got for 10 dollars. I bought it just randomly lol because it was cheap. My favorite so far is ultra violence ( classic ) and I like evil divide.
When I said my #3 I actually said #4 , sorry about that , but I just finished a large coffee & the caffeine kicked in 😂 or something like that ! Take care ~ Darcy

They are working on it , I’m guess mid to late ‘23 you’ll see the new one from Death Angel 🤘
My ranking for the Death Angel albums would be
9. Killing Season
8. The Evil Divide
7. Relentless Retribution
6. Humanicide
5. The Dream Calls For Blood
4. The Art Of Dying
3. The Ultra Violence
2. Frolic Through The Park
1. Act III
i was literally just listening to the ultra violence lol excellent timing 🤘
Looks like I was reading your mind lol . Keep thrashing 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Most of the Death Angel records are great , there latest Humanicide is killer IMO. Keep up the great work Darcy........cheers mate.
Thanks for the kind words & hanging out with me to talk some metal ! Always appreciated 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Came to watch this ranking since I recently got into Death Angel. Great band. Nice ranking. Act III is my favorite of theirs too!
Great band to get into ! Act III is definitely one of their more diverse albums . Thanks for watching 🤘 Take care Zach
Awesome Death Angel ranking, Darcy!! The Ultraviolence will top pretty much everything. I consider Act III pretty overlooked.
Thanks Tony ! The Ultra-Violence still blows me away to this day , a bunch of very talented kids made that thrashterpiece ! Take care my friend 🤘
Thanks man.
You are always welcome! A big thank you to you too 🤘
Great video!

It was tough with the two newest albums , both so damn good , I already can’t wait for the next one lol . Thanks for watching 🤘 Take care Daniel
Hi Darcy ,greetings from Brooklyn New York
Death angel somehow got by me back in the 80s.
I saw them open for Testament in 2022 , thought they were great
So I started checking out all there albums.
I feel like there 2/3 versions of the band
The first 3 albums are your classic 80s thrash
Then 4 and 5 are middle ground ,a mix of original sound with some of the new modern sound
Albums 6 through 9 are incredibly heavy ( New producer ,new members )
Still can't rank them ,my favorite .
changes every day .As always thanks for this post.
Here's my opinion:
1) Act III
2) Frolic through the Park
3) The Ultra-Violence
The rest of the catalog is very good too, but I've always stuck on those first three...

Death Angel has always been one of my fave thrash bands, seems like every album they release just gets better and better, sorta like Overkill, the last 4-5 albums have all been wicked and the last DA album - Humanicide is such a killer album, I definitely need to try and finish this discography, hope you're doing well bro, cheers

I think Act 3 would be my favorite of their's. Good underrated band.
ACt 3, Frolic and Ultra Violence I had loved em
Hi Darcy!! cool ranking for an awesome band. I'm super late for DA's party back in the day they totally pass me by, right now i have not heard all of their albums, neither have any on physical format, but i agree Act III is really great and kind of different in sound when you compare it to the rest of their catalogue.
I just love that you were thrashing out at 9 years old , that makes me smile ! Take care brother 🤘 Loud ‘n’ Proud

I just bought the Art of Dying and Killing Kind today. Ordered the three Wolfpack cds from Nuclear blast.
Already had Act III, evil divide & thrashumentary.
I saw them headline on the Act III tour with Forbidden (twisted into form tour for them)
Have you seen the Nuclear Blast black friday sale? I got two of those "Wolfpack" cds for $5.19...and they are both with dvd.
I'm trying to get the Archives box, so I can get the first two. Or an ebay listing with the first two, the live one and Act III for a car copy hahaha
Good ranking Darcy. I have all but Ultra Violence. Just havent been able to find that one yet.
Thanks brother ! It’s tough when there is so many solid albums to rank ! The Ultra-Violence has definitely stood the test of time ! Take care El ☕️🍩
Nice ranking. I discovered them probably in the late 00s I particularly like their last two albums. Can't argue with your top 4, like you say fractions between them. 🤘
Hey Grant 👋 hope your doing good ! The latest two albums have been fantastic , wow even a Grammy nomination ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
Another ranking that I find rather on point. Nice one.
Thanks very much ! I enjoy ranking videos , nice to hear everyone’s opinion ! Cheers 🤘 Stay Safe
@@Gregbaltzer Sounds familiar. I've been on similar paths in my life, and felt similar ebbs and flows. 🤘
The acoustic cameo at the end of the song Relentless Retribution by Rodrigo & Gabriela is 🔥🔥🔥
I agree ! 🔥🔥

My #1 Will always be The Ultra Violence mostly because of how loud and reckless that album was and i was amazed on how such young teenagers could make such a loud sounding album with such a quality

Awesome video fellow geriatric metal head. If you would have picked any other album than ActIII, I would have lost all respect for you. 😂🤘
What a great show that would’ve been , three killer bands you got to see ! Take care my friend 🤘 Stay Heavy , Stay Safe :))
Act III is my favourite too. I get shit from a couple buddies for picking that one over Ultra-Violence because they think it’s too clean. But it’s always been my favourite. I think Death Angel and Testament are the two most consistent thrash bands. Not a dud in the Catalogue.
Agreed & both had big gaps of inactivity too ! Looking forward to new albums from both bands . Stay Warm in that -30C shit 🥶
1. The Ultra-Violence
2. The Art of Dying
3. The Evil Divide
4. Humanicide
5. Act III
6. Frolic through the Park
7. The Dream Calls for Blood
8. Relentless Retribution
9. Killing Season
Great list, thanks for sharing! They really don’t have a total crap album do they. Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
All the cds is amazing 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
You got that right ! Cheers Julio 🤘 Stay Heavy
Have you ever gotten into Nevermore? That would be a good ranking video. And if you haven't listened to them, check them out.
Beside email, what is a good way to message you? You don't have messanger do you? I know you are not on Facebook
I get to see them, Testament and Exodus in October! \m/
You’re lucky ! The closest they are coming to me is Winnipeg Manitoba Oct 6 , it’s about a 6 hour drive for me 😫
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 I was shocked to hear that they're coming to Vancouver. Can't pass that up
The first Death Angel album I heard was The Dream Calls For Blood.
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 I think I saw Act 3 pretty cheap on Amazon. I'll add it to the cart.
Hopefully nuclear blast will reissue those early death angel albums on cd as they did with the overkill albums which were discontinued
It's really tough for me to pick my favorite Death Angel album they're all good.
I know what you mean , this one was harder than I thought !
Can you do a Alice in Chains albums ranked?
Nice!
Hey Jeff ! Hope your doing great my friend ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
I prefer Dream Call For Blood more than Relentless, but opinion is like a hole in the ass, everyone has own😂😂
😂 Isn’t that the truth! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
