@@Ethan_here230 Yes, its still a great phone. I ordered my one plus 8 pro today. I had the galaxy s21 fe(exynos), the battery life was terrible and it would just heat up even while browsing. Sold my s21 fe, the 8 pro was cheaper so went for it. And about the software, it will still get security updates for 1 more year. So you can rock android 13 till then. Once that's done, just install a custom rom. There are multiple tutorials on RUclips.
I am currently using the OnePlus 9 Pro but I have to say the 8 Pro overall is still my favorite Oneplus phone to date! Over the 7 Pro and 9 Pro. I'm thinking of getting the OnePlus 11 5G
OnePlus 8 Pro has OOS 13 which will be the last Android update and we'll get 1 more year of security patches. But there's ROMs available which are better in software and UX for sure on the 8 pro
Bought mine in the first months of it came out. Due to some self-inflicted issues, this week I replaced the bottom loudspeaker, internal charging flex cable and SIM card circuit board, with a new back glass and added a fresh screen protector - it's just like a brand new phone again and the battery is still great! 10/10 phone for my needs and can't see rid needing to be replaced for another couple of years.
The display on the OnePlus 8 pro was considered by many to be better than the Galaxy s22 ultra so I don't see where it gets beat by the Galaxy s21 ultra? The Galaxy s20 ultra could only do 120 hertz at 1080p and for those who don't know the OnePlus 8 pro was the first smartphone capable of 120 hertz at 1440p on an AMOLED panel so yeah it was definitely better than what Samsung was releasing at the time...
@@ep1k_4 the Galaxy s20 ult ra was only capable of 1440p at 60 HZ. My OnePlus 6 runs at 60 hertz. That's nothing to brag about but at the time having a 1440p AMOLED panel that was capable of doing simultaneous 1440p at 120 hertz was a luxury that no phone but the OnePlus 8 pro possessed... The OnePlus 8 pro also has a 10-bit display where Samsung flagships only have an 8-bit display. Honestly this factoid is less significant because there isn't very much 10-bit content available and the only way you would take advantage of the additional color palette is if you yourself are producing 10-bit content and you want to review it on the go...
I just got the 8 pro second hand, cleaned & reset - thanks for this review, I believe I'll be very satisfied with it ^^ New phones are ecological disasters.
Wasn't on par with the 7 pro? That phone is killer for sure but the 8 pro is actually better, better screen with more color accuracy supporting 30/10-bit color depth compared to the standard 24/8-bit color depth, better gpu, more battery and the second best Qualcomm chipset: Snapdragon 865.
@@VolumeMA Snapdragon 8 gen 2 the one produced by tsmc (same manufacturer of Snapdragon 865 and 8 gen 1+, they always save Samsung lol and us as well) and not Samsung like some other Snapdragon variants as 888 by example and the Exynos chips, the generational jump of 8 gen 2 is amazing, it even performs better than the A16 Bionic chip of Apple, also manufactured by tsmc, it only loses in cpu tasks but nothing major tbh, very powerful chip Samsung got in their hands, I just hope they make great software updates.
I heard from someone that if you turn off certain options in settings that got enabled after the android 12 update, the line would disappear. Im not sure what the settings are, maybe there's a tutorial on youtube.
@@wokeindianadult I was in need of the latest processor due to some programs I wanted and emulators that required all that power, but didn't want to spend a thousand dlls :3 that's why this OnePlus is just excellent ♥️ and much stronger than a pixel, those are great phones but their Tensor as of latest isn't even half as strong as the snapdragon of last year
I think they messed up by bringing that punch hold back that punch holes suck.. I most definitely a phone with no punch hole. Which is only Sony and I believe ROG phones are zero punch whole. I wish OnePlus will bring back the pop up camera.. that would be awesome 😎.. I think my next is going be Sony Xperia 1 iv or v but anyway OnePlus makes very good phones for sure👍🏾
very bad display,, i don't own 1+8 pro but i own Oppo Find X2 Pro. i found out both phone share the same display panel. my FX2 Pro now has flickering green whole screen issue same issue to 1+8pro.. damn.
Watching this through OnePlus 8 pro, still kicking ass!
Should I buy it now? Considering that all the software updates are over. Is it worth it?

I was torn between Nothing Phone 1 and OP8P, picked OP8P since I had this in 2020 and I've been happy for 4 days now hahahah no regret

Hey, how is your experience so far?
Wait what, did you actually buy an outdated AND used phone for the planet? 😂
I've been using it since 2021, great phone. Front camera could be better and the round edges need to go. But overall a very nice phone.
just bought one used near mint for 200€
