I’m in the UK, so we’ve just had a major storm this week, luckily we didn’t have too much damage but I’m clearing up where necessary and mulching all my beds as I weed and plant bulbs for the spring

Hello Marta! New subscriber. I am in US zone 6b. Your garden is absolute stunning! I love your channel!
I was wondering if you could tell me how wide is your hydrangea garden and how far apart you planted them. I always struggle spacing my plants. Thanks!

Hello Marta. I am in North Carolina, United States, zone 7b. I too love planting flower bulbs. Not close to the number you plant. I only did 300 daffodils, 50 of the shorter blooming allium, 50 spring blooming anemones, and 50 lilies this year. Love the anticipation of their blooms. I can not imagine planting on the scale you do. I am one of those people that is very detailed. I have a 5 inch thick 3 ring binder that I keep garden photos, a list of plants, with plant tags for photo, and info references, a list of where everything is planted with diagrams, and a list of fails and successes. It really helps. I love your RUclips channel, and always looking for your next post. Keep them coming. Thank you.

Really love your ideia of going through your garden border by border, and doing an assessment of how that border has performed.

Hi Marta, We are in the last month of Spring. Hardly a drop of rain to be seen so far in Spring and our Winter rainfall was less than usual.
Luckily we are on town water although restrictions will be in place soon.
We just had an open garden today for our garden club Melbourne cup day. (Australia) Everyone enjoyed themselves and some wore pretty hats and all were dressed for the occasion.
It was hard to keep the garden looking its best with so little rain but we managed. The pots were drying out fast as the temperatures have been hot during the day.
I think this Summer is going to be the worst we have seen for a wile unless the rains come soon as normally Winter and Spring rain helps set up the garden for the dry Summers.
Thanks to you I did an extra good job on my climbing roses this past Winter. They looked great and flowered beautifully.
I have a battery rose pruner now and it has made my rose pruning jobs so much quicker. Not sure if you use one but they are amazing.

Hi Marta! I'm in the Seattle area of the United States. We already had our first frost about 10 days ago and it took the dahlias and most of the annuals. So, I'm cleaning all that up in November. Also, I removed a small tree that was not doing well so I'm thinking and planning how to rework that border in the spring. Last week of October, I finished all my bulb planting. I also love Angelique tulips and planted three drifts in a border. You gave me a good idea about also planting some in pots for next year because they are so pretty. Take care!

Hi Marta. I garden in NY zone 7. In Nov. I shred my leaves & use them as leaf mulch right on top of my beds. This has naturally improved my soul.

Hi Marta! I look forward to watching your videos! I live in the United States, and I am also cleaning up autumn leaves and preparing the garden for winter. ❤ I LOVED your comment about being a bulbaholic. 😂 Very relatable! I love bulbs, too, and the magic they create each spring!

Hello, Marta! I love following you! My ancestors came from Poland.
I am in South Dakota Zone 4B. Our Temps run in the 30-40°s F for lows & 50-60° F highs.
I take a 12 month calendar & document what I did outside or garden wise daily/weekly.
I write when I planted seed or bareroot indoors; bought something & what store; when I planted or fertilized something; how things look or performed; what's looking great & continues to look great through the season, etc.
I take pictures of my garden different times of day & different months to see where the sun is & how much shade and also to see what's blooming & how things look.
I also take pictures of plants I see at stores throughout the season, so if they performed well, I know when they were in what store the year before & I can look for them the following year at the right time.
I already have stickies on a 2024 calendar for things to look for or call about next year. The planning & looking at pictures gets me through the cold winter.

I went a little crazy with the bulbs this year too. I'm in Ontario, zone 5b Canada and it's been around 10C during the day but is expected to get colder later in the week. We can expect snow anytime now. I've cut back some of my perennials and the rest I leave until spring. I take the leaves off the grass ( my husband runs the lawn mower) and leave it on my gardens. Bonny

Hi Martha. I'm in the North of France where we've had so much rain and then this week storms. The garden is saturated, and it would be impossible to plant bulbs in it. Fortunately, I always plant bulbs in pots, and it looks like we're going to have some dry weather, so I'll be able to do that. I pulled up, dried, and stored all of my dahlias a couple of weeks ago because of the humidity, not for fear of frost. I would love to mow my grass paths one last time, but they squelch with water, so that is probably not an option. I leave as much foliage as possible on perennials and annuals so that insects can shelter and birds can feed. If and when we get some freezing temperatures, all of this will melt away and feed the soil. Many thanks for sharing your beautiful garden

I'm in Ontario, Canada zone 5b. Meaning my coldest in the winter is -23C. I too do the cutting of the perennials in the fall. I also cut my roses down a bit before I put a tent on them. I have high winds and it tends to dry out the branches and kill them. My gardens are new this year so I have to wait a year before I can start planting bulbs as some plants may change places next spring. I don't pick up the leaves from the trees. The winds will blow them away within the week. Today Nov 4, I will be putting away the furniture, blow out the lines and winterize the boat. If I have time I will be putting the tents on the roses and burlap the shrubs. Love your videos. Thanks for sharing.
