That was exactly my thoughts. While he is a comedian, he did ask her . Respect and the way he paraphrased it was beautiful. I hope she realizes she is loved
@@thatsarockI thought the same thing. I wanted to go to his show, but not only does it cost so much, going to see him in a big theater is a total turn off. I would have loved to see him in a comedy club because the audience is smaller, therefore it's a bit more intimate.
Omg he could have made soo many jokes, but instead didn't trigger her..thanks for conseriding her feeling when you could have got laughs..man what great character..❤😢
Is this guy a comedian? Absolute massive respect for your man for not taking the easy, cliche route and hacking on her. I'll definitely look out for him, now. Seems like a lovely person.
Yes and he is one of the very very few now that's worth watching anymore. Plus he seems to be a truly genuine guy from everything I've ever seen him in or do
Took a second, but the homie came thru in the best way possible! He almost laughed and then said, Wait, hold on! What? She wanted to focus on some self care....When you know someone's actually listening, and has got you, even when you don't know them.❤ I work in a Korean restaurant, and we always have candles burning because... kimchi. Lol The latest candle had a saying that said, Self- love is your super- power. Felt that in my whole ass soul! You got this girl! You aren't alone!
Well done! He’s truly a good person at his core and making people laugh is his talent/act as all comics are. I wish more people would see this. He did all the right things on the fly without hesitation. His actions, words and emotions all showed how genuine he was.
Matt is hilarious yet still has morals in comedy wich is good 👍🏻, this made me respect him way more now. Its always the people who have no humor that try to cancel him, but really those type of people are mad at the world because they are narcissistic
I am so sick of people lately making this guy out to be some asshole. This is only one of many incredible moments and interactions he has had with members of his audience. He’s not a bad dude at all, his comedy just sometimes pushes the envelope which is what good comedy should do
Matt Rife is the man. He has talked about his mental health and it shows that he truely cares about others mental health as well. What he did, is what they do in group therapy. Always asking permission and rephrasing. I watched this one and the whole thing was absolutely amazing 👏
This is why i love him even tho he is a comedian he knows when to be serious and he can make me laugh when im sad and feel like crying and he brings me so much joy he doesn't even know how many lives he has saved he gets so much unnecessary hate people need to understand the difference between being hateful and a joke...😭
I love this about Matt he keeps some things on the down low and won’t play on it. This makes him so human he gets people being vulnerable and won’t expose it. True LEGEND
I’ve seen this dude go after ANYONE, this is the first I’ve seen of an interaction where he didn’t do that. He’s not only a hilarious dude who can include anyone, but he’s also willing to have humanity and not push on a subject that he knew was inappropriate to joke about. Whilst some say in comedy EVERYONE is a target, this is one of those very rare cases where you just don’t, and he knew not to. Big ups. While I have been in psych wards, I’ve been through some heinous and awful things, I joke about it to get me by, I can also respect people who don’t wanna joke about it. He could tell by the tone in which she spoke that it wasn’t a comfortable subject, so he didn’t touch on it more than he needed to. Very awesome of him. Again, comedy is open for ALL, everyone is free game, but at the same time there is still limits that just aren’t worth crossing because it just isn’t funny unless it was gonna be funny to her too.
Everyone always trying to hate on Matt and say he’s insensitive and whatever else. But that’s far from the truth. Yeah he’s got a persona for on stage, and I don’t mean like to the point he’s completely someone different , but I’ve seen many, many instances of him behind very humble, very kind. He had a kind of rough childhood, and so when he started to sell out he kept saying his first big purchase was gonna be a house for his mother. ❤❤ not anything for himself, but for his mom. And here, he asked the girl and covered the mic and said “you don’t want me to repeat that?” She said she didn’t care. But even still, he still said it in a very respectful manner.
This clip shows that he is genuinely a kind person when it came down to it. He did not want to offend this woman, and was not going to make a direct joke towards her, although he could’ve made so many good jokes with the context of mortician wanting to kill themselves…. Let’s get over his domestic violence, joke. It was a JOKE… it’s not like he made fun of the lady in the crowd with a blackeye the lady with this in her face wasn’t even there…
the way he handled it was so wholesome and i wish more people were like that! when someone at school found out about my struggles with mental health, their instinct was so call me emo. i am a mixture of emo and goth-rock both in music taste and the fashion i wish i dressed in, but because of it i hate calling myself emo. people need to learn from Matt!
He knows how and when he can " cross the line" with his jokes...like with Logan who was physically disabled he knew where he could take his comedy with class and dignity to the person.
Cancel Matt? Yeah I don’t think so! He’s a joke teller! That’s what he does! He gets us all laugh our asses off! But when he needs to be kind and serious and to show compassion he doesn’t exactly that! He could have cracked jokes and sent her down a dark path. Instead he lifted her up! 💕
Honestly most comedians have or still deal with depression themselves, he probably was intimately familiar with the feeling. At least that look at the end told me so...
I know he is a comedian and I love him but GOOD for him to reserve himself from making a joke about this woman!! Sometimes things are not a joke in life!! 😊
I love Matt Rife! He's the funniest comedian. If he's not your cup of tea fine, but we're not ever cancelling him out. Get over your feels. Suck it up and get outta here.
@MattRifeClipsNOTMattRife Holy shit! Bro, thank you! I am SUCH a huge fan of yours!!! I know this is a long shot, but I would LOVE to audition for you as an opener! I have a wicked, awesome, visually comedic set! You'd love it so much, you'd bring me Buckys arm!
Here's the thing about good comedians ... they can READ people. They can READ an audience. It's their job. They know when it's OK to push a line and get a laugh because they know his audience are OK with it. They understand when something is tabu and to not cross that line. They understand nuance. They understand people. Haters that try to "cancel" comedians like Matt Rife ... don't know how to read people, situations, interpret jokes and have no clue of nuance. And definitely, don't know anything about comedy. These haters think there's a problem with Matt Rife's comedy. No ... it's the HATERS that have a problem.
Asking if it was okay to say was a solid move. This is good guy. Then how he explained it was beautiful.
That was exactly my thoughts. While he is a comedian, he did ask her . Respect and the way he paraphrased it was beautiful. I hope she realizes she is loved
Because she said I don't care. She sounded defeated.😢
What
@@sandrabojovic4817 She’s either broken or she’s recovered fully where she can laugh about it. Either way Solid move by Matt
She brought it up, in a public setting, during a recording. Him asking was irrelevant. Everyone heard her 😆
