As a blind person myself who has only enough vision to see shapes and shadows, I can safely say just because someone appears to be looking at a person's face or eyes doesn't mean they can actually see the faces or eyes. You can "look" at a person by using their voices to locate the approximate position of their face or eyes. I realize this may be a bit of a tangent, but just because a blind person -- or anyone else with any number of disabilities -- does something not normally expected of them doesn't mean they're faking it. We've just learned to observe the same social norms and pursue the same goals as any other human being.
LC87 There are also different types of blindness. Someone blind because of an eye problem will usually have more wandering eyes. However, if they are blind because of a problem in their brain's vision center, they will still do things such as flinch if someone pretends to hit their face. Their eyes still 'see' the fist flying toward them, that visual center just can't process the image properly. They still instinctively flinch because that reaction is controlled by a different part of the brain.

You can see shades/vague shapes and still be legally blind. You can tell by watching her that she does has some minor vision, but is obviously not able to see the way we do. She can follow dark shades contrasted by light, such as the judges moving, and can pinpoint where they're standing, how tall they are and where their eyes are. Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions, especially if you haven't read her bio and know what she can/can't see.
