Riccardo Cardani is a member of the Paralympic Snowboard Cross national team. About 15 years ago, he lost the use of his right arm due to a serious car accident. This event gave him extra motivation to reach the Paralympic Games in Beijing in 2022.
In 2023, he made the decision to amputate his hand. It was a very difficult but essential choice for improving his physical performance, and above all, to compete in the Milan-Cortina 2026 Paralympic Games at 100% of his potential.
Thanks to cutting-edge surgery, Riccardo has managed to regain muscle sensitivity that now allows him to move and control a myoelectric prosthesis. The first time he tried the Adam's Hand, 'It was indescribable: being able to move my hand after 15 years was something magical,' Riccardo said.
