Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)
We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

Dusty and Rick are a HOOT 😂 - their sad see-saw while Nate was away had me rolling. Great job, guys. 💪
They nailed the filming while we were gone didn’t they😂
Where’d you go? Or were you filming your new daily drop? You two are always On The Go!! Wow.
@@dianegriffith3006They said they went to some sort of convention or meeting , and sadly had to leave for a few days. Glad they were able to get back on the bike though!
“Taste like punta cana” has me dying laughing 😂
Frankie saying "we have beer inside for you" and Rick says "that's my daughter for sure" 😆.
I love how supportive Bec is constantly of Kara and everyone’s achievements
Evie: “We have beer inside for you!”
Rick: “That's my daughter for sure!”
Love that line! Hilarious!!!
Love when they’re in the videos. They add so much depth.
Who else is so invested in this series and excited for part 4!!❤
YES!! 👍
Ummm this is part 4
I am invested that this over soon. I find it so boring. 3 parts over the whole trip, would be more the enough. I love alot of videos and Adventures from kara and nate. Loved the one with his grandpa so much.
But this biking series is getting way to long.
What omg I sincerely disagree I loveeeee the long series I wish more were this in depth, I wanna see everything!
@@pinkhope84 honestly no matter what video they make it's great!!
I'm really enjoying this and I can't wait to see the next one 😁
can we just appreciate the fact that this episode is a literal movie in length like what?
We never purposely make them long….it just happens 🤷🏻♀️ glad you like it 😁
Petition for 1 hour long videos!!!!( dont care if it just Kara making her yogurt bowl for 15 minutes)@@KaraandNate
The longer the better with Kara and Nate!! Never too long!
@@KaraandNatewe are absolutely here for it!!! Love your videos! 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Totally agree with this whole thread!!
Rick needs his own RUclips channel his energy matches perfectly with yours 💗
Not sure why this thought has only just now occurred to me, but these two would be EXCELLENT for The Amazing Race!! They need to do it
Ye that would be awesome i think they haven’t been on it
I think that all the time. I feel like they wouldn't get picked because they are basically professionals.
They should do a season with all travel RUclipsrs
Yesss I’ve been thinking that for a while!
As a canadian, Ive gotta say that I appreciate you always converting to other metrics (celsius - meters) it makes much more sense to me!
And to the rest of the world too
Watching the difference between Evie and Frankie is hilarious! Evie so chill and go with the flow. Frankie “this is what you’re missing..NOTHING!” 🤣😂
literally! and when she was killing the flies !!
I love how they call all the guys “the dads” and even though Nate isn’t actually a dad his mustache, funky shirts, and safety suspenders really adds to the the “dad vibes” 😂 ❤
I'm generally a silent watcher, but I felt the need to comment on this one and mention how sad I am going to be when this ride and this series is over!! This is honestly such an incredible joy to watch. Much love to all 8 of you!!
Rick saying how boring it was without you guys while going down a water slide is 10/10 comedy! I am loving the personalities on this trip!
8:03 the girls being so excited to tell the “dads” that they have beers inside for them was so wholesome!
Precious 😂🍻
@@KaraandNateThe girls are so sweet. I love how they always have such high spirits, and can always help cheer everyone up!
as someone from the UK, I'm really learning a lot about the geography of the US - great video!
Nate, this is NOT the most boring series, not by a long shot! The videos are brilliantly edited, the people you have around you are awesome and I am ever in awe at everyone’s enthusiasm and energy. Loving every mile of this journey.😊
Awwww thanks Gillian!! We have 2 awesome editors who brought this series to life while I was barely surviving! And we agree, this team is full of gems 🥰❤️
@@KaraandNate That transition when Kara is jumping out of the van and then suddenly she lands right in front of the camera - really creative! I had to slow it down to check it out!
@@KaraandNateyour editors do an amazing job keeping your voices/editing style throughout. Awesome team!
I'm sure Sarah has her reasons for not wanting to be filmed this time around, but I really miss her. I loved her sassy comments and her honesty in past videos.
I miss her too! I am catching up on some of their old videos from years ago and I love watching Sarah in those videos. She is so bright, funny and encouraging. I just love her! Sending you love, Sarah!
Came to the comments looking for the Sarah love. Miss her too ❤
I've been watching this channel for years and this is by far my favorite adventure. Rick is a legend- he's so real and down-to-earth.
Rick is an absolute gem of a human in all respects. "If he goes any slower, we're grabbin' on!"
I love how Nate would bungee jump off Mars, but going over the speed limit on a bike is pushing it 😂 balance ppl balance😂😂😂
I know right !!!!!!. He's such an adrenalin junkie and constantly risks his life for the thrill. But at the same time he's Mr everything by the book. It's hilarious.
54 minutes .. wow.. add 30 more minutes and it's considered a feature film. Love you guys, thank you for inviting us into your lives
Are yall going to re-upload the rocky mountain park video?
Awww hope you love it 🥰
Have been enjoying watching your 3,000 mile bicycle trip. Brings back a lot of memories. In 1972 a friend and I bicycled from Davis,CA to Springfield, MA. on our ten speed bicycles. We headed out 2 weeks after graduating from high school. Just the two of us, no back up vehicles. Ended of peddling 4,000 miles in 60 days, went up into Canada for a ways. And flying back home in 5 hrs on a 747. Lol. Enjoy your trip, am looking forward to your next post.
Love watching y’all’s adventures! “I’d turn back if I were you” sign was from The Wizard of Oz!! Fitting since you guys were in Kansas.
Nate asked if we thought these videos were boring, they are not and we look forward every week for them! A little sunshine for cold fall! Hugs from Iowa you guys, keep killing it! ❤
Thanks for the encouragement 😊
@KaraandNate definitely one of your best series to date, you've both grown so much in confidence, its a joy to watch
Every clip of Rick in the bloopers was literal gold.
Aren’t they awesome!!
Long time silent viewer here and I want to make my first comment to thank y’all. I’m in the midst of a really tumultuous season of my life and this series has become something to look forward to in a time that I really needed it, your content has always been a welcome escape in otherwise dark times in my life. Thank y’all for sharing your life and adventures with us, the impact is further reaching and more significant than you may realize ❤️ may your travels always be safe and joyous
What a group, so heartwarming to see a family/friends that are so insync with each other (atleast onscreen) and so positive. "Addictive to watch" would be the phrase :)
Those little girls are the cutest things ever. What a fun group you've assembled, I'm sure all 3.67 million of us would love to be on that trip with you all.
Aren’t they the coolest?!
We feel very lucky to be a part of it too. K&N bring out the best in everyone, it's just what they do!
I'm so happy for kara, challenging herself and taking on the role as Captain of the trandum! Have fun out there ya'll!
Nate this is the most FUN series you have ever done. I love that it is such a LOOOONG Series as well!!! So Glad you finished the bike ride with (I hope) no serious injuries!!
Also my Geography of the USA has increased dramatically!! Especially since I dont live in the USA so anything to educate me helps!!
Definitely NOT the most boring series! I'm feeling spoiled that we get to watch them one after another! What a fabulous thing to do, riding all the way across our beautiful country! And making such amazing memories for those two young girls while doing so - priceless!
Kara and Nate! My husband and my sister's husband travelled from the UK to do Ragbrai this year BECAUSE of your videos!😁 Now we're binge watching this series together... how strong do you think my chances are of getting them to sign up for biking across the whole of America with me and my sister in a support van?😂🤞🏻
Wow that is AWESOME guys ❤ hahaha never say never! I’d suggest doing it on your own bikes tho!! Lol
@@KaraandNateafter what happened at your ragbrai, that’s probably good advice
100%
This entire biking across America series has got to be my most favorite adventure I have watched of you guys. It's just so wholesome and down to earth. It's an adventure that is relatable. Keep up the good work, safe riding, and have fun.
I can't begin to tell you how amazing this series is. Like I don't want this to get over...Everrrr..
Rick has me in tears every time he speaks. Absolutely hilarious
Kara really is like a character in a movie or something lol she's just so easygoing and wholesome, never get fed up watching your videos just a good vibe to them all the time.
Agree 100% !
I can confirm that she is literally like this 100% of the time, all day everyday.
Can we all just appreciate that this video is almost an hour long! I LOVE Kara and Nate's willingness to show us their adventures.
Ya know at a time when every time you turn on the TV, radio, news on your phone etc and see only horrible things like shootings . wars etc it's just so nice to tune into Kara and Nate and be a part of their crazy, fun, always interesting adventures. You guys are awesome.
I love that the Dads have coordinated outfits. Awesome!
I love the transition of Nate carrying the pee into the darkness and then rubbing his eyes the next morning.
😆😆😆
Omg right I was like I wonder if he watched his hands haha
How amazing has this series been!!?!!! 😍 and what could possibly the next years biking tradition be? 😱
OMG, the sea-saw was the best!😂
When I saw Dusty and Rick on the seesaw 😂 there very entertaining
the fact i was smiling the whole time while watching this is why I'm obsessed with Kara and Nate and all the beauty the attract to their adventures!
These are some of my favorite videos. They are so down to earth instead of flying in First Class in some International destination.
I'll never not be awestruck by Kara, seeing her absolutely killing this bike trip makes me feel like I can do anything.
I love how animated Kara is.. so cute!! I just love her!!
And the rest of the gang of course! 😊
This has become my family’s new tradition every Saturday! Thank you so much for sharing your journey! ❤
Awww love that guys! Enjoy ❤
Who’s ready to watch yet another amazing Kara and Nate video?! I really hope things go well for the rest of the trip and that you can reach the end of the trip in time!
Edit: Kara, you are an amazing singer!
Edit 2: I wish you were driving through my state so I could welcome you 😔 oh well! As long as you have fun, that’s what makes it great!😁
Me!
@@MavenCRKIn case you haven’t watched it yet- it’s a good one! (like literally every other Kara and Nate video!)
I live near so many farms and the poo on the fields those few days a month are horrible I feel you Kara ❤❤❤
I’m from Kansas & have to say Frankie pretty much summed it up. “Flat, plain and windy” - yep, that’s Kansas! 😂😂
Maybe its just me, but you guys seem so much more relaxed with the friends and vanlife. Love this biketrip.
Welcome from Kansas. I have lived here my entire life and you show me new cities that I have never heard of before. ❤ stay safe on the road.
Kara and Nate I just love seeing the dynamic between you two. So much love and excitement it’s so sweet. Loved how proud Kara was driving that bike and Nate was even prouder!!! Keep up the support love and positivity we can’t get enough !
I love how the girls helped with riding the bike. Way to go Kara on riding in the front, and making it half way. Ya all got this. I also love how you kept "the dads" going Kara.
You guys (and the rest of the team) literally make me want to be a better human. Better to myself and my heath. Being more active, being outside more, getting healthier meals in, drinking more water, etc.
You are all amazing!!! And I’m going to make a serious effort to be more amazing too!!
Sending love and safety to you all! ❤ 🚐 🚴
How can something so hard bring so many giggles. Thanks for the continuing view of our country in the fall. Gorgeous!
I got scared when I got to the day that said “The one where we leave”. I thought they were leaving the trip! Glad they’re back on the bike and having a great time! Can’t wait for next weeks episode!
Love your videos and the challenges you undertake! From a former mechanic, please do the oil changes as close to the intervals as you can. Also, if the engine oil it too high it can cause seals to leak. They do not have a dipstick, so take it to a shop to get it looked at. Thanks for the great content!
Such an impressive journey filled with joy. I really enjoyed your whole series!
It’s so nice to see the different states as you travel across. I’ve travelled to many cities in the US but this was kinda special ❤
A bunch of places in it I’ve gone to. Visited Greensburg ~4 years after the tornado. One spot 40 and again 42 minutes in can see a sign and I’ve been back and forth through these areas a bunch of times. I have photos of the store at 42:3
Surprised the route took those roads, there’s much safer options in so many of those areas aside from the bridges
Dusty gotta cheer on his lady 🎉.. Sarah's doing a great job!! Love seeing her in the videos! 😊
That bike shop is less than a mile from where I live! I’m glad Jefferson City treated you well!
I think Kara is having the time of her life! That Bakery & Pizza made my mouth drool. You're all having so much FUN I kind of envy you.
The reflection on what you missed sections were hilarious!
Kansas is SO boring to drive across because it is FLAT. Seeing a cow is exciting.
We love living vicariously through you both!!! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us!!!!💞
I’m on a bike packing trip in NC this weekend, but I still can’t wait to see this video! I’ll be watching when we get back home.
awesome segment; when you reached Pratt , Kansas my heart warmed a bit, as that is where my maternal Grandfather was born in 1906; he passed about 20 years ago , so it was nice to see the area where he was born and raised; can't wait til next weeks segment
The mountains you have overcome already is amazing! The flatlands have got to be easier. Go!
You no its a good day when you see an hour long video of Kara and Nate!
“Not much. You?”
“Yeah, not much!”
That entire sequence 😂
Kara & Nate, Dusty & Sarah, Rick & Family…
YOU ARE AWESOME!!!
🇺🇸😍❤🚲
I've always wondered how towns looked like at the center of America. Appreciate this episode, as I enjoyed the scenic views. Please stay safe, peeps. Those trucks are pretty fast. Love to see you cross the finishing line.
I have watched for years of your travels. But from California traveling on your bike so far has been my best time watching
Hello from Kansas 👋 I’m from Garden City, where you stopped. Love watching this series. Glad you missed the Kansas wind. Hope the rest of your ride goes well.
Frankie needs her own channel. She's hilarious!
I was a friend of Norm MacDonald here in Canada and actually worked on Dirty Work. Great channel, great series. My wife and I never miss it.
My grandparents live in Annapolis and I go there every year for a week in the summer for the fourth of July, and hearing y’all talk about it lights up this little light in my heart that I didn’t even know existed. I have watch y’all since 2019 and hearing my two world collide is brightening my mood so so so much!!!! I love your content and please don’t ever stop what you are putting out to this world it helps me and so so so many others. Love you 🥰
who else was cracking up almost the ENTIRE time the bloops was playing😂😂😂
10:57 the support to Kara's storytelling 😂
You guys, thanks for posting these videos. Nate, when you said it's either going to be the best or the most boring video series.. it's one of the best! I feel like I'm there with you guys, while I'm at home washing the dishes. Lol thank you for always making us feel like part of the family! We love you Kara and Nate! ❤
I grew up just north of Jefferson City, I live in California now. I’ve driven the roads you biked on so many times. We rode the Katy trail on Sunday afternoons. This whole video made me happy.
I’m so glad you found the Katy trail… super scenic… with a few wineries on the way, especially in the little town of Defiance.
I do find myself praying for you all on those major highways…. What a fantastic adventure…. Thanks for sharing!!!
You know what's better than a kara and nate video a 54 MINUTE KARA AND NATE VIDEO
I can’t imagine biking across America! It’s seems very fun ! 💗 I love how you guys always stay positive no matter what. Lol I remember ragbry 😂
13:20 hey Nate, the helmet isn't going to do anything for you if its not done up, if you fall or get hit, its just going to go flying and not do anything to protect your head.
I love how these videos highlight small towns. I just moved to Jefferson City MO, and the KATY is the best thing this town has to offer. PS- Steve at J&D bike shop is the nicest guy, he's fixed my bike for free a few times too! Happy Trails!
Kara: “you’d think I’d be in Tennessee.”
Truer words….
I grew up in Missouri and moved to Tn when I was 21…this is my life! ROFL!!!
Me and my boyfriend just broke up watching you guys will definitely make me feel way better. And congratulations with the progress!!!!!!!! Love watching you guys too
Frankie and Evie are like both my spirit animal!! They have amazing parents that are giving them an incredible gift!!
Getting pizza at Casey’s makes me laugh a little. My oldest lives in the middle of no where Iowa, and Casey’s is the only place to get their Friday night pizza.
Kara hyping herself up in the morning with 'N Sync gave me so much joy bc I do the same before work lol
I have watched your videos since 2017. I don't know what has changed if it is me or you guys but I will say your videos has been more personal and wholesome in the past year. I have seen little moments between you two that always remind me of me and my husband, but lately it feels like you have really shared a little more of the personal interactions between yourselves and others. I also really appreciate Nate's push to do hard things more. Regardless of the reason this was a long drawn out way of saying thank you! Your videos, along with a cup of coffee/tea, always help me feel whole in the morning. ❤
The realistic reactions to Kansas and how flat it is, is so real. I love it 😂😂
"Id turn back if I were you" is a Wizard of Oz reference and given that you were in Kansas, it makes sense.
Love this series! I’ve always enjoyed the physical endurance adventures the most! Also, absolutely love Kara’s upbeat attitude and enthusiasm, she’s just as beautiful on the inside as well! ❤ Keeps crushing those miles!
Some people challenge themselves because its just the way they are built, to chase greatness. Love you guys keep it up.
Those little girls are going to have the best memories
Probably my all time favorite series so far! I seriously look forward to this every Saturday and am inspired to do a bike adventure of my own, love yall!! :)
Me and my twin 10 year old love watching you guys!! U rock!
