Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: • 100th COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.
We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)
So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.
Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.
4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!
After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)
We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

Not Evie being absolutely dripped out when she took over for Nate. She had the vipers, with the colorful helmet, with the rag bride shirt, with the pink bike shorts. The whole fit was top notch.
“I’m a downhill dad now” made me laugh, she’s pretty friggen cool that’s for sure 🇨🇦
Fr
My favorite part of this entire video is Evie saying "I'm a downhill dad, imma downhill dude" 😂😂❤😂😂
Lol
Nate, don’t look at it as “letting the team down” when you need to rest your knee. Instead consider it “creating an opportunity for Evie to shine ✨ “ Great job team ❤
I love how they call all the guys “the dads” and even though Nate isn’t actually a dad his mustache, funky shirts, and safety suspenders really adds to the the “dad vibes” 😂 ❤
Can we talk about how brilliant Evie is, at riding the bike, filming, everything. That girl is going places!🎉 also congrats Sarah and dusty!
Congrats?????
Sarah and Dusty are running a mile every single day for 365 days plus riding the bike. They are doing extra work, way to go everyone! @@prattfam1868

Am I the only one who was screaming "grab 5 more" at the screen when Nate picked up 3 tubes at the Flagstaff bike shop?! 😆
I was right there with you!😂
I was thinking ‘get 10’ 😂😂
literally!! yelled out loud!!! get 10!!! man i was so frustrated i had to rewind and yell again
For this type of adventure, have at least two spares for each day. So, 1 week between? That's 14.
@@porshp8941 Hahahaha 👍
Dusty needs a lot more credit for his Forrest Gump scene!! lmao! Had me cracking up! Great job you guys!
My favorite part!
I know Sarah doesn’t necessarily want to have the attention but I wanna hear from her more! I feel like we are missing out on her quips and funnies!
Her and dusty are the smart quiet ones.
Definitely agree but if they don't want the attention then we have to respect that.
My Sunday morning routine : wake up, go to church, go home, lay in my bed, and watch Kara and Nate!!
Same I just got back from church and I am really loving these new long vids!!❤
Same exsept the church part… we stopped going after covid
We go on importent dates like chrismas or easter
SAME!!!
THATS EXACTLY WHAT I DID!!!
O M G!! Dusty wins the internet with his recreation of Forrest Gump scene!!! That was hilarious!!😂😂😂
Hi there Kara and Nate...If you don't have the Tannus ARMOUR tire inserts in your tires, I highly recommend that you get them, right away. My brother rides his bike to work every day and I was replacing his tubes and/or his tires nearly every three weeks from all the ultra-fine (literally, smaller-than-a-hair thin) semi-truck radial tire shrapnel on the road he rides on. We have gone 8 months now without a tube or tire change...THEY WORK! In the meantime, keep up the awesome riding. You have so much energy and vitality, and you've got this!!!
The Forest Gump segment made the whole fame lol. More Dusty and Sarah!
28:40 Can we talk about how awesome Evie is! Seriously stepping in for Nate and joining the dudes and then just helping the ladies crush it on this trip and then picking up the vlogging and all that is just awesome.
The downhill dads!! haha
@@TravelWithTats Hahah yeah the downhill dads! I love that haha 🤣
I cannot explain how much I look up to Kara. Such a genuine, kind, brave person who perserveres no matter the situation. I am in awe of Kara every upload.
Yall passed through the land on my people. I am Diné and seeing y’all talking about the Navajo Code talkers was cool!! Sending good medicine to guys for the rest of your journey and praying to creator to keep you all protected and safe!! ❤️🪶
Shoutout to Sarah, hope she is doing okay. To everyone, y’all are incredible!!!
I was thinking the same thing, she seems sad :(
Think it’s so funny that Kara calls the groups “the girls” and “the dads” 😂😂😂
Actually the young girls called then that when they were doing these joined vlogs a couple of years ago.I think the little ones couldn’t get the concept at the time that women were more than moms and men were more than dads.
I could be wrong but I think their dad is the only dad in the bunch
You are correct. I remember one of them saying how it's funny that only one of them is a dad yet they're called the dads 😂@@cd2290
@@cd2290 yeah
Biking through Monument Valley ~ Epic!! Loved the Forrest Gump reenactment with Dusty 😃
Shout out to Evie for standing in for Nate 👏🏽 He made a wise choice. Such a gorgeous ride! 😍
Kara’s Aussie accent is really coming along in leaps and bounds! Good on ya mate! Safe travels!!
So so happy to see more clips of Sarah within the first 5 minutes … we love you Sarah ❤❤ also this crew man you guys make me feel all the emotions but your vibes together are just great! Love seeing videos of you all together 😊
it's always nice when both Kara & Nate AND Eamon & Bec both upload on the same day :)
And Kingingit!! ❤️
I agree!
I'm confused why they call themselves The dads when only Rick is actually a dad but they should just be the dudes
@soapygirl83 it was a coined phrase by one of Rick's kids referring to the three guys, back when they were riding in Colorado.
But why does she sound like a twelve year old hard to watch a lot of them now all sound like kids very weird, great video other then child like
The transition from Nate to Kara listening to the voicemail was fantastic! 😂
Evie doing the filming and commentary on the bike was epic!!
At 20:15 into the video when you guys have "your wagons circled" (vans in together in a triangle, lol!) in the sky above the vans at the bottom left of the Butte in the background, it looks like the stars are forming the top of a ❤️ heart peeking out beside the Milky Way! May angels 😇 be watching over you all in all your travels and adventures!🙏
My favorite YT couple. I would love to see a challenge where Kara has to plan everything for one month. I bet they’d be tan and warm. Lol
AWESOME IDEA!!!
Yesss! Or we can supply the ideas and she has to choose a random comment - you can do this Kara
Sunday afternoon just got better!!
Fax❤
frr
Sunday morning for me!!
For me too !
30:10 Oh my gosh but can we talk about how Dusty and Nate have such a similiar laugh here😂 I almost thought it was Nate but then remembered he was resting this day from biking lolll
Oh my God my favorite part is when Evie says “I’m a downhill, Dad , I’m a downhill dude.”
Thanks Nate for talking about the history of Code Talkers especially during Indian Heritage Month
I just want everyone to know what an amazing little girl Eveie is not only biking for Nate but using the camera like the camera like a pro. Great job Eveie you are amazing! Loved the video.❤
Way to goooo Dusty & Sarah!! That’s incredible! I’m loving this journey & series! You’re all doing such a great job. I hope your knee is feeling better now, Nate 💙
I don’t think someone expressing emotions makes them “emotional”. We all feel emotions, as do you Nate. You just said you feel disappointment and sadness. Kara just feels more free to express hers. That doesn’t make her more emotional and you less.
Dusty's Forrest Gump impression was so funny!!😂 You all are doing an amazing job!!
Really loving these longer videos, thank you guys for the continued entertainment and please travel safely. If I rewatch a video does that count as a new view?
Yes
It should
Cool, thanks.@@monicatruong1223
Thanks@@JWGasper0125
You have to watch it from start to end and click off the video then back on for it to count as 2 separate views
Dusty was funny reenacting that movie scene. Love seeing him and Sarah. I would be so terrified to bike on those busy roads with cars flying by me at such high speeds. You all are doing great. Might need some more cold weather clothes though 😁
OMG! So beautiful... I cried with joy, and empathy when Evee took over for Nate. This entire group is what REAL TEAM is like (big or small). Be careful and may you all complete the journey in peace, love, and delicious joy.
When Evie said she was a downhill dad and a downhill dude I was laughing she’s so funny 😂
Evie must be made part of the official riding team. She’s such a team player. What an amazing young woman😊🚴♀️🚴♀️🚴♀️🚴♀️
Love seeing Sarah in the video more!! You guys rock! Evie is awesome!!
Your adventures with Rick & Bec and family & Dusty & Sara are just the BESTEST!! Love your energy, positive attitude, infectious laughter and genuine love of adventure and each other. So glad you connected with Rick and family years ago and that you all are always encouraging each other and up for crazy adventures! Some of your best videos in 7+ years!! Looking forward to Part 4 and beyond!!! OH, and the Forest Gump scene with Dusty was HILARIOUS and BRILLIANT!
Thank you for including Native American culture in your videos! It’s far and away that native culture is shown as a huge part of the success of USA.
These are so much fun. As someone who suffers from chronic illness and misses doing things like this its nice to live vicariously through you guys!
I am as you. I miss doing physical challenges and am living vicariously through Kara and Nate.
I only made ¾ of the way around the world when my body quit on me. I miss traveling and the adventures of just "normal" life. But watching this group of friends brings me joy.
God is good even in this stage of my life.
Favorite clip...when the trandem goes by, with Kara 'dancing' in the back seat. Love you guys!! thanks for years of entertainment
Rick is me running for the quarter on the ground 😂😂. I love finding change in the ground and I cannot resist picking it up! 😂
Thank you Kara and Nate for sending so much positivity out into the universe!
Gosh…I didn’t expect to cry until the end of your journey. But I’m just here thinking about how you two come in so strong for each other if one is down. We’ve seen it time and time again in your videos. So inspiring and truly what life is about.💜
kara!!!! green is your color. you looked unbelievably gorgeous in the AG1 ad !!!!!
You should take one of the popped tubes, cut it down the seem all the way around (remove the valve), and then wrap it around the new tube before you put the tire back on. That extra layer of rubber helps a ton.
This series is some of the best content you’ve posted, and the fact there’s more to come is great 👍🏻
The truck that stopped to check on you ladies is a true kind person. Around here we stop and check on people for the most part. ❤
Congrats Sarah and Dusty!! 🎉 Epic episode everyone!!
i can not believe you went through my home town TUBA CITY AZ. i love your videos and have been following you for maybe 3 years, I love you both. good luck on the bike ride and safe travels to you all.
Hey Kara and Nate❤
I'm from India and have been following you for 5 years now. Or all your videos, I love the van life and such adventure ones the most.
A teeny tiny request, pls do consider doing that trip along the west coast from Washington to California, which you had meticulously planned before the pandemic hit.
Loveeee you❤❤
I saw Kara and the girls when they rode right past my house on Friday! I was coming home from grocery shopping. I pulled in the driveway, yelled to my teen son to help me unload the car, and then decided to see if I could meet them. When I pulled up in my little green car, they were taking a drink break in front of my friend, Susan's, house. I totally fan girled. The girls were so lovely!!! I forgot to tell Bec that I'm a homeschool mom too. Luckily, our trees in Maryland are peak right now, so they have some good scenery.
About seven minutes in. Kara’s Australian accent is sounding way better than mine and I’ve lived here over ten years now. ❤
I'm currently a full time college student, and it is so amazing seeing people living life doing amazing things like Kara and Nate. Can't wait to travel like this someday in the future.
Evie is being taught well. She’s going to be an awesome RUclipsr at some point in the near future!
I love seeing Kara and Nate's faces going across the country! Love from Illinois!
Y'all are friendship goals, and thanks for all the beautiful scenery shots... plus stars!
Monument Valley is on my bucket list of places to visit. Seeing your drone views of the ride through there is absolutely breathtaking. I already know that whenever this series is done, this section in the series will have been one of the best.
I love how Kara's nails matched her AG1 in her commercial. And how they are such good friends that they represent their friends Eamon and Bec with the Habit sticker behind the driver's seat! You all are one of may favorite RUclipsrs.
Man i am loving these long videos. So just a tip, and one of the most important things for anyone that rides a bike, it might seem trivial but get fitted. Its going to save your knees like you wouldn't believe. Congrats on making it to the end, can't wait to see all the episodes. Stay safe God bless.
Definitely! The adjustment of your seat and reach makes a big difference! Also a gel seat insert addituon on the seat might help your butt on those long rides!
You're 100% right. It certainly looked like Nate's seat was too low and that could easily explain the knee issues.
@@ginkodragon for long rides a cutout is better then a gel insert. It takes the pressure off the "butt" area lol.
@bluej511 cutouts can help, but if your body is not in condition, the gel really helps! My sister and used them when we were training for our very first century ride.
@@ginkodragon interesting. I've been riding since I was like 7 continuously lol.
17:08 The way Dusty started running.. Perfect imitation of Forest Gump
What an adventure! All of you are amazing to watch! Glad you're better Nate! Safe travels! Can't wait to see the next one.
The positive energy from everyone is absolutely insane to me. How incredible, such a great group of people. You go guyssssss🎉❤
Evie “I’m a down hill dad.” All serious 😂😂😂😂
Been watching your Biking Across America and really enjoying them. Can't believe your route goes over Wolf Creek Pass (3,000 feet of climbing in 9 miles--6+% grade)--folks, that's awesome!!
So love all your positivity and general love for each other.
those kids need a youtube channel they're hilarious, in all 3 parts so far they've been solid, "im a downhill dad, im a downhill dude" lolol too funny!
The latex onesies are hilarious. The daughters are soo cute, and the one with the camera a naturel with it. The native Americans don't get enough credit in the US, if you have to learn of there heroics at a Burger King that they own. Dusty sounds just like Nate. Nate take care of that knee, and also Sweet Breakfast Nate. Scenery is amazing. Good luck all of you🚵♀️🚵🍀
I was pretty surprised Nate didn’t know the code talker history.
No latex....lycra
You are doing AMAZING!!!. Wow I cannot begin to tell you how incredibly brilliant you are for doing this. You are showing future generations that life is what you make it and anything is possible!. Using your huge platform is so inspiring to others and is going to encourage them to set goals and dreams instead of basically sitting on ya butt doing food challenges n pranks etc. your family must be beyond proud and massive well son from all the uk!. Love n best wishes from Debbie xx
You'll are kicking assss all with a smile on your face. Your journey is truly impressive. Sending much love and respect from Boulder, Colorado. Ride on Ride on!!!!!
Evie is a downhill dad! Adorable.
Also have to say the extra 10 minutes makes so so so so so so so so so so so so much difference for comfort to watch. It really makes you relax and chill when watching instead of sit watch... over. Amazing the difference. Please keep them this long guys. Love you guys ❤❤❤
You guys are THE most feel good RUclips channel of all time. Instant mood booster no matter what is going on!
I love watching your adventures. I feel like I'm travelling with you. And I exercise my English by watching you. I wish you strength, health and luck on this long journey.
My favorite RUclips channel hands down!!!! No question!!!! It brings such an immense feeling of joy and complete entertainment. Kara and Nate are such great personalities and motivators to get out and do and enjoy every second and feel all the feels!!!!LOVE YOU GUY!!!!!
How much I love this vlog 3 ! Let me count the ways : Evie stole the vlog …she’s a dad dude, the dads and their onesies 😂😂, the amazing views, Kara shavings moments, Dusty’s Gump moment(I want to send him a box of chocolate 😂😂and more . This is my favorite video of this series. ❤❤❤❤ way to go guys👏👏👏
It’s pretty exciting watching y’all as travel vloggers and finally knowing a destination you’ve traveled through!
Considering the crazy drama that went down in Tuba, y’all have to be done with the trip by now!?
Hope your body’s are feeling strong and amazing! It’s awesome to see y’all support each other! Love it! Cheers y’all!
I always was a racer enthusiezt, life changex, young but u all inspire me to get out though dv my body wont ever allow me with injudies. Stay safe. Your friends become that family if u dont have that as much. U all lucky innwways unimaginable. Thanks so much from australia
Props to the ppl in front of the bike actually doing the biking that seems tuff
You guys have no clue how inspiring you all are! Way to push through every single one of you! You light that fire inside of me to go on those adventures of a lifetime! Thank y’all so much!
Me and my husband are with you Kara on the bagel! Everything is the best!!! We love ours with garlic and chive so much!!
The beautiful starry night sky
Love this series! You guys are amaaaazing! We ( my family and I) look forward to watching you guys, also eamon and Bec every week! :) so much love from 🇨🇦
So proud of you two for pushing yourselves through this journey. Excited to see what's to come in the future. 💕
The guys singlets are killing me. 😂 I have had fun and felt like I have been along for the ride. Bless you all!!❤
I miss the beautiful peaks of Colorado. I am so glad to be following this adventure. Everyone is truly an inspiration! Thank you so much for inspiring my fitness journey and career change 🥲
You are giving us the most beautiful view of the US countryside! Thanks for the star shots as well! ❤
Love that you are back to calling them “the Dads”! i’ve been waiting since this series began.
Good job, Evie, stepping in to help the team! I am SO enjoying following this adventure! Go teams Go!
I love seeing Kara and Nate in the van again! I was so sad when they originally announced that they were done with van life :( Also, I love you guys having this long journey in America, especially during the most beautiful season of fall! Love from a TN girl in college in STL!
The little girls are the sweetest, must make the trip more fun to have their sparkly energy to infuse tired riders
Incredible scenery! Also, It’s no wonder Kara has such great legs with these type of adventures. Loved the Forrest Gump reference.😊
You guys are amazing!!!
So many laugh out loud moments. ❤️🤣
I love how positive, encouraging and enthusiastic Kara is about everything! It’s just so inspiring ❤. I’ve decided that I’m going to strive to be that grateful and joyful every day of my life, no matter what I’m doing. Nate, you’re awesome too😂❤❤❤
Guys, you are amazing! My greatest respect goes to all of you. I love your group energy - a special thumbs up for Evi filling in for Nate. I enjoy all these American landscapes so much.
And congrats to Nate for taking a break because of his knee. Nate, you could tape your knee with sports tape- it would give your knee more support and guidance.
Thank you so much for your work, joy and for never giving up.❤🎉 love from Italy
This is the area where I'm from before immigrating to the Netherlands. Colorado is so gorgeous this time of year. And I still have relatives in Cortez and Conifer. I wonder if any of them saw you, as Cortez is not that large of a town. Best of luck to your continued journey.
Such fun watching you all - and the little girls are adorable
I hope you guys post the route that ya'll took on this wild and crazy adventure.. I think it would be fun just to drive and camp along the way.
Look forward to coming videos! Oh and "sweet breakfast"
