The real MVP is *Melisandre.* Not Arya. If Mel doesn't light up the trenches and doesn't motivate Arya to face Death, they don't win. It was Mel who resurrected Jon.
If Jon is never resurrected, Dany wouldn't come to help. Mel also worked on lighting for this episode. We wouldn't have seen this episode at all without her! Thank you, *Melisandre.* MVP.

Theon has more than redeemed himself from previous mistakes, glad he went out a hero. And the person saying "everything" else in the episode was stupid and anti-climatic, you obviously just didn't get it, there was SO much tension built up, we didn't know how it was going to end up right until the end, and I'm glad Arya was the one to put the NK to rest.

I read many hate Bran for not doing anything, but I think he knew the whole thing, probably getting glimpses of future how night King can be defeated. That's why he gave the dagger to Arya. Bran also lure Night King by warging the crows, so he himself would come to godswood, the whole battle can be won without NK. Theon and Jorah death brought me to tears. Many did not die, cause we still need to see Hound vs Mountain, Jaime /Tyrion vs Cersei, someone has to kill qyburn, Greyworm army vs Golden army. Sansa vs Daenerys? Maybe .. lol
I think Qyburn might betray Cersei. It was the Northerners that saved him, he could betray Cersei for not only betraying the North, but also leaving the Northerners to die to White Walkers and their army.

@@Theraidenman The preview of the next episode still shows Unsullied troops, although, nothing of the Golden Army numbers, but I think she still has a big army because I believe she still has some soldiers who stayed behind to defend Dragonstone

He did not need to lure Night King at all since he was already marked by him. Night King knew where he was. After all the anticipation about Bran's role as the three eyed raven, he was basically useless.
Little Arya facts: sneaks up on Jon in 8 - 1, and is given the dagger in the same location that she needs it most.

Don’t understand all the hate for the episode, I thought it was amazing. The tension was so high, I felt so claustrophobic. That ending music was incredible. The people we lost went out badass saving other people. Yes a lot survived too, but they still have to battle Cersei. And the twist that Arya got the NK instead of Jon was great.
The hate for the episode comes from people who have hated the show for years and expected to hate this episode, too. There was nothing this episode could do to make them happy.
Killing the night without knowing his real plan and what his real motivation was just absurd in my opinion. You build up this character as the personification of death and being a force of nature and then you kill him without a conclusion. I dont hate the episode tho i was just disappointed. I know they dont have to do fan service but this episode was unsatisfying.

iFlyMania yeah i know, what was the reason behind that? Was it because of the children of the forest? To take revenge? Or something else? They showed glimpse of his past but didnt continue on it. What im saying is killing him that way after they had build him up so much was very underwhelming. We dont have to agree but thats what i felt personally.
@@raffyp6632My best guess is yeah, he wanted revenge against humanity for what the children did to him. I understand how you feel. There's still some questions to be answered so hopefully they'll explain more in the final 3 episodes left. There are also spin-offs in the works so maybe we'll get answers then. I just think people are jumping on the hate train too fast.
They did show the White Walker generals notice Arya aproaching, she was just too fast

They're all MVPs... Everyone who took part. Think about it.
They all played a part. Theon died to give Arya time to get to the NK when he was alone. Bran gave Arya the dagger, Beric motivated Sandor and died to keep Arya alive, Melisandre gave Arya the inspiration, Lyanna killed a fucking undead *giant* and who knows what it would've done.

Is really no one gonna talk about Beric Dondarrion, he served his purpose and he helped at the killing of the Night King without his sacrifice alot more could have died. He is so underrated and I hate it.

Except he didn't serve any purpose. He saved Arya pointlessly when the Hound was there and could have saved her too. Which actually would have been beneficial towards the hounds redemption arc. They contrived a way to write him out of the story because they don't know what to do with him, to called it serving his purpose is just stupid.

Dany didn't use his body as shield, he came in the way himself when he sensed the wight approaching.
Yeah that was the scene, but it didnt read well to appear like that. Maybe it was choreography of the scene that is to blame, or the actors not pulling off that scene perfectly. But Jorah jumping in the way, and dany getting pushed back is what I saw from it.

Even if she did use his body as a shield, it would've been what he wanted because he would rather be a meatshield than have his queen die.

I think it's amazing how Jorah was able to protect Danny for such a long time. Not only his loyalty and his armor made this possible, but also the treatment he got from Samwell for his greyscale. Hardend skin, a mormonts mind and a valyrian sword.

Ex- Men I disagree, he was an obstacle to overcome not a character, to get the “hero” characters into a vulnerable position for the end Boss, the bitch Cercei. The Night King’s story is inferenced from the flash backs and Bran’s story, and I like the aura of mystery more than a detailed history. In terms of strength, why duel at all? You have tens of thousands of minions, why bother?

@@Mainlyeverything Yes but it is different here,you have so many skillful commanders and they spent a lot of time organising their forces and the first thing they do is to send their CAVALRY charge alone towards the enemy?? GOT had some very good battles where some very good tactics were used for example Blackwater with Tyrion. Also Brien and Greyworm should have died,I would say Sam as well but I understand that he has to remain to write the song of Ice and Fire most likely.
tzo anast it’s the Dothraki they don’t fight using tactics. They charge on their horses and fight. It’s the only way their people know, it would’ve been weird to change up how they fight now
It really set up the danger of the threat that then didn’t kill any main characters and got neutralized by 4 ft a human assassin with kung fu flips

This freaking horrifying episode had me sobbing until the end what a bloodbath
Watch it again - There was a scene where the guard looked at his peripheral vision and his hair moved a bit. Arya is Assasin, before you knew, she already sneaked in through the guards. And oh, she can wear many faces.
Those dead Generals were overrated though. All they did was get killed from the beginning and hand Knight King spears

i knew lyanna mormont was gonna die but the fact that she tool down the giant was great.. but I also lpved the realism in the fact that while it made a difference it escaped everyone's notice in the face of the magnitude of the onslaught.

The only thing I didn't like about this episode is Sansa talking shit about Daenerys while she was hiding in the crypts. I'm not saying Sansa should be fighting too. She doesn't know how to fight so it makes sense for her to hid in the crypts, what Im saying is that at least she should't be talking shit about Daenerys when Daenerys is actually out there risking her armies, her life and her dragons to defend her, the north and the living.
Honestly, I usually think Daenerys gets off easy just mowing down people from on top of her dragon, but in this battle she earned my respect. Jorah helped save her, but she helped him too. She looked pretty badass swinging that sword and sticking it through the dead coming at her.
That's why Missandei said what she said in response to Sansa.

I think the lighting, or perhaps more accurately the lack of lighting, in this episode was a genius choice. With us, the viewer, being unable to make out who was who and exactly what was going on at times, it heightened our experience of the absolute panic, chaos, and dread that was this battle, thus helping to place us within it.

The music in this episode is incredible. Every character's theme is showcased at their moment, plus all the new scores. Magnificent.
13.40 My reaction was exactly the same as the dagger was falling. I'm pretty sure I made the same 'Hoh' noise as well when it clicked what was happening. They gave you just enough time to realize before she stabbed him. Perfect timing.
Ep 7 said their plan was to wait to double team the NK, Dany actually screwed the pooch when she jumped in to help the soldiers. Ramsey Bolton move is what the NK did.
Eh? The only thing that would have happened if they'd waited was that their forces would have been routed before the snow flurry rolled in. There was no 'ambushing' the Night King in that zero visibility cloud anyway.
In addition to Lena's response: In the wise words of Director Fury "Given that it's a stupid-ass decision, I've elected to ignore it".
These were her people on the front line being slaughtered and if she would have waited, the sheer numbers of the dead would have overwhelmed the second line of defense pretty easily. On top of that, the Night King had several undead giants which, if they weren't toasted first by the dragons, would have made overrunning the castle so much quicker.

Lena is right imo, the NK never had to expose himself at all. The battle was won, all he had to do was wait, unless he wasn’t going to kill bran but convert him like he was or something we weren’t told by the story so far....

That Theon scene nearly had me in damn tears! The look on his face as Bran congratulated him. Theon finally got his wish of redemption and went out a hero.
Everything about this episode is unbelievable the cinematography and the camera work is perfect and what makes the episode this good is cause it was unexpected .. I can’t express how much I was stressed while watching it .. good reaction guys

The song piano song playing throughout the last scenes and when Arya kills the night king is called the night kings theme so 👍🏻 such a great score done for the episode
Omg I was freaking just like u guys when I watched. I woke up my husband and kids from yelling ,cheering and crying
She get upset when animals die....1min later thousands of horses and possibly a direwolf die lol
The only problem I had with this episode was it was too dark for the first half an hour or so. I could barely see even with the brightness up full. I loved that Arya got to be the one to kill NK. As for battle itself it would be just behind the battle of the bastards and helms deep in terms of my favourite battle sequences.
You can turn up brightness, but that kinda washes everything out. What you really want to change is the contrast and backlight, the blacks stay blacker and then boost the brightness a bit.
GOT S8E3... In this episode I experienced every single emotion a human can experience and some I think I never knew I could. I loved your reaction video. It was epic. I wasnt breathing for probably 50% of the it.. The only gripe I have is that it was so dark.
Lastly, nobody paid attention to that whisper of air at the end which was Arya moving like smoke..

I think the plan was for Jon and Dany (and the dragons) to stay out of sight until Night King revealed himself - resulting in a two on one ambush. When Dany saw her Dothraki getting slaughtered she couldn't hold back - thus ruining the surprise.
Nolsp yep, they confirmed it in the behind the scenes afterwards. She jumped the gun because she couldn't watch her men get slaughtered.

Wouldn't have really mattered much either way, because even if they did hold back for the ambush, the Wight Walkers were always gonna create that winter shroud.
Besides the fact that the battle strategy was whack, if Dany and Jon had waited any longer to help, their armies would have been overwhelmed by the wave of the undead. Also, there were several undead giants roasted by the dragons. If they were able to reach the castle, the trenches would not be any help.
