Cager on three wheels?
Yeah mate I agree, I bought one, took a test ride and a no brainer - you cheat death compared to two wheel bikes. Only after I had bought one did I realise how good that engine is. But the front end is incredible - I really don't care what you call it - or what category the Niken get puts in. It is it's own thing. The principle itself - that two front wheels are better than one for grip and stability is a slam dunk. That Yamaha have made real the principle in such a seemingly considered and perfect way takes sport and sport-touring road riding into the starship realm. These things ride like a luxo goldwing that carves like a 600 super sport..only way more assured and stable. No shit it's something like that. The fairing sucks and in the end you'll need an Ohlins shock and stickier tyres ...and you'll never sell it.
Now this,is a classic Cager review,the kind that first drew me to your channel.1000 thumbs up!

Why would you want a 700 version?
I guess you mean a narrower and perhaps lighter version for commuting.
Have you ever ridden the Piaggio MP3? There is a 500cc version of a CVT-transmission scooter of this nature. Two wheels at the front and one at the back. I guess you want something sporty like this, though.

I just recently got a piaggio mp3. It's my first motorcycle in life. I now consider it my trainer bike for the Niken.

Hi Cager. Great review. In your opinion, what's the market for these 3 wheel bikes. I only ever see commuters on them and so I assumed that they were for people who wanted the commuting advantages of a bike but too nervous to ride around on a scooter. Whereas your (excellent) review shows it as a concept machine with great riding performance on fast twisty roads. Who is the intended market?
My licence provide me to ride cars or 3 wheller motorcycles (UK). So i'm the target :D

It's hard to believe it feels like riding a motorcycle, even though all the reviewers all say it does. The looks really throw your expectations of.

The Niken is a nice concept but I think it solves problems that never existed in the first place for somebody in the market for a MT09.
I can totally see the sport touring guys with big heavy machines , lots of extras and the engine to pull all that, to opt for such a thing.(Sorry, but in my mind the MT09 is a Hooligan bike! A brilliant one )
Give it to Yamaha's FJR1300! There is the customerbase with the money and the appreciation for the safety aspect.

Oh My Bloody god, time for me to sell da Bergman which I bought after seeing your vid mate(a very long time ago) and save up for one of these, but please be aware that in the old days (as I am old) 230Kg was not a problem so this will be fine for us older guys....super video..

Looks expensive as heck. Looks really comfy but ugly like nothing I saw in three wheels. But just a personal opinion, if you buy it, and you like it, thumps up. As always, thank you for your efforts and time for doing this video.

I appreciate the innovation in this. But they are failing in the most important area of innovation, which is electric.
3 wheeled stuff is important, but they needed to have some proper electric bikes out by now. My brother is ditching his NMax to buy a NIU NGT. Because Yamaha have refused to provide a good electric scooter. They might announce one at the end of this year, and then release middle of 2020? Way too late.
