Some minor bugs I need to fix, and it's getting late, so probably tomorrow but I'm glad I could least get a video out tonight finally.
Love this vid bash but you can't slip in a better coop build and leave it there lol are we getting a vid for that build or could we have a link please and thank you for your hard work for the community
@VashCowaii I noticed in the video at 1:21, it shows the picture of the Shielded Strike mod in the Crystal Staff and the first sentence in the description is "Melee Attacks grant a shield of 5% Max Health. Max 50%. Lasts 5s." The 50% Max is what you get when the mod is at level 10, but the shield percentage at level 10 should be 10%, not 5%. I went to your R2 Loadout Calculator and double checked, it's showing 5% instead of 10%.
So I saw the version of this with death wish around a lot lately, and that build really only works because deathwish, for whatever reason, doesn't drain nearly as much health as it says it does so that build will probably fall apart in a patch or two. @godknightomega the ability still reads "drains 300% health". It doing less damage is a bug either they didn't update the text box or the ability isn't working right either way it's wrong. And the only buff I saw it get was it increased the damage buff to 50%

I had hodge podged a variant of the world's edge tank build using rally band + steadfast as a weird, pseudo lifesteal addition, but was still running into issues with some things just oneshotting when trying to brute force face tank a boss. I've not put down the crystal staff since I've gotten it, its such a cool and much more involved melee weapon, and learning that shielded strike works off of the balls is gonna be a blast. Although I have been enjoying a more evasion focused build with the crystal staff, there is just something special about being able to take a boss's massive attack with barely a shrug
I love the crystal staff. It's a bit clunky to use, but the novelty of it makes it quite fun once you get the feel for it. I've been using shocker on my non-tank build; aside from being thematically appropriate, that 7m radius lightning strike gets centered on the first enemy hit by an energy orb rather than being centered on yourself, turning it into a ranged AoE.
Literally my first thought when i was reading the patch notes was "Hmmm, I wonder how many absolutely fuckin busted builds Vash is gonna come up with now that they changed so much??" I hadnt even considered the new DLC items at the time, i was still just wrapping my head around all the changes they made to existing shit! And as if on cue you release this beastly build. Awesome build my guy! Yeah I've seen a lot of people say the melee weapon is bad and I'm just like "HOW DOES NO ONE SEE THE POWER OF THIS THING!?" So awesome to see all round
Gotta love providing a save file and then getting to watch someone else tea-bag the boss. Ah it's delightful. This is probably the most fun looking tank I've ever seen
Really love this build! Truly excellent! I was playing around with a few variations and I'm really enjoying swapping out Navigators for Indignant, Melee DMG for DMG mit and Triage for Potency. All DMG dealt is raised by 20% with indignant and melee dmg is increased an additional 15% with the fragment swap. Effective DMG mit is at 84.70 (same as the original setup) EHP is 2085.78 (less than the original builds 2367.65) EPH/s is 22.25. (more than the originals 16.84 although if you swap potency for triage on the original EPH/s comes to 25.25) You can get 2224.84 EPH if you slot Shield Effectiveness instead of Melee DMG on the Indignant setup for a happy medium of dmg to survivability. Generally speaking I have more than enough survivability so the extra dmg is quite nice as it shortens the fight considerably and saves me on consumables. I appreciate your builds, content and the loadout calculator, keep em coming! Upon further consideration I may swap back to Potency and leave out Triage, 40 seconds of Confidence Booster is so nice and I probably don't really need the extra healing.
This is fantastic. I really enjoyed using the Challenger/Medic build w/World's Edge/Stonebreaker, which still works for most content btw. Looking forward to doing another apoc run with this one.
I love your channel and breakdowns. I like how you analyze everything and don't just guess. You explain WHY things do what they do, but then have this tone like "shut the F*** up and let me explain things". lol Love it. Thanks!
I've been patiently waiting to see what nutty BS you'd come up with, with the DLC stuff. "Caster tank that's technically melee" was not on my list of things I expected, but it's definitely wanted.
Oh man, was really hoping to see some more of your builds after the rebalance patch. Like that melee tank build before, actually was unkillable. Easy apocalypse clear (even in co-op).
It's really cool but I can't say with certainty that everything it is capable of, is intended right now. We'll see though. Not today's patch, but the patch that comes next will give us the answer to that.
I just tried this on some bosses in apoc and the only one that was a pain in the ass to kill was lydusa. When the fight gets towards the end, she will make the side walls go up and throw her face at you and while you can survive it no problem, the damage check at the end makes it really hard to do enough damage to win the fight, because if you don't, you will die no matter what. I couldn't kill her with this build, but she wasn't hard to kill with a more damage focused build. Edit: I tried again to fight Lydusa with this build and it worked. The dps check at the end is doable with this build. Just make sure you have way of lydusa active you can barely make the dps check. For a tank build that can deal with spiteful vicious Venom AND Shahala AND deal with a dps check, I'd say this is one of if not the best builds right now, and it's so much fun to use.
For those not hitting the perfect 80% DR (for example, not getting enough heavy metal band stacks) the Bruiser Gloves and Technician Gloves give you slightly more armor while staying within the weight limit. Not totally sure if that got missed by the query because DR was already capped, or if I just have my weight slightly wrong for some reason.
Query looks for the lightest armor that would put you to 80%, not necessarily the highest armor within the weight range. If it can't find armor required to go to 80% in the max weight range, then it will default to looking for the highest armor in the specified weight range. In this case, the max weight class was flop, but it found armor to put us to 80 that was lighter than flop, so it gave it to us.
@@VashCowaii Might want to further optimize to the highest armor within the weight category. Since it is including DR that doesn't have 100% uptime, it makes it a little more reliable. Thanks for the build btw, just finished Apoc with it for the first time!
Great build! I noticed some things are different now (Metal band max's at 3 not 5) in the most recent version. Any chance there will be an update to this? Especially with the new DLC some items may have changed. Even if you can't do a video what about a comment with any changes. That would be amazing. Thanks!
Against ground targets only there is an even better melee shield combo. Havester scythe with shielding strike, Matriarchs insignia and rerouting cable. The scythe makes so many small hits on heavy attacks, shielding strike gives you its 3% shield insanely often, basically always capping out at 30%. Rerouting cable gives you shield for spent stamina, which is convenient because of the heavy melee attack spam. To regenerate the stamina matriarchs insignia gives you stamina back for every hit that lands, basically always keeping it at maximum. The rest you can fill with lifesteal, HP, melee damage or speed. Its actually insane what you can tank with this. Sadly doenst work on flying enemies tho.
I have an hybrid of invoker and challenger with mirage that works pretty well too, the only problem it have is dealing with flying bosses but outside of that you can pretty much handle everything
Wish there was an updated version of this build with Prism rolls and so on especially with the last changes. I guess the OP OP legendary to have on Prism is Immovable so when we have at least 1 bulwark stack we cant be stagger which seems mandatory now to make this build really work in any difficulty level.
Since you mentioned it roughly 4 times, I'd forgotten how strong Game Master's was until we landed on it as the cheesiest solution to beating the new kiln boss on 3man apoc
Have you messed around with pressure point mutator? It’s doing insane damage. Haven’t Made one yet but I feel it’d fit well on a close range mod swap or shotty swap build. The new corrosive trap also is doing solid damage
If playing coop with a friend running medic/healing shield with a short skill cooldown build, would you recommend replacement the shielded strike with steadfast to avoid the cost of confidence booster? Or just bask in the extra shield?
hi man i dont have the spirit healer for the primary what is the best replacemen for that the one that is rng with the free charge? thanks man that build is kinda fun
The armor isn't quite as efficient as possible, I chose battle helmet, leto mark 2 chest and legs, and mark 1 gloves to be at the heavy roll cap still, but better armor at 253.4 instead of 250.1, which makes for a 0.3 DR, which ig could be better when not using the consumables during dungeons, better elemental resistance and additionnally, a more badass style. You know better than everyone else that the devil's in the details, great video!
I might still be trying to understand my build, but I am having trouble with nightmare difficulty annihilation in 3 player. I think we have the most trouble with the orbs. They are running different builds. One of the players gets downed more than us. I probably need to remember to keep my rocket fueled and confidence consumables active (sometimes I haven't). I probably also need to remember to keep 1 active skill and 1 charging per the video. I'll try again tomorrow and let you know. I think what happens is sometimes I let some of those things slip (as mentioned above) and then I stress out trying to kill the orbs for them. I'm beginning to wonder if it would be easier for me to solo it in nightmare and just facetank everything as this build intended. While still avoiding obvious unnecessary damage of course. I think I run it the best when I'm keeping the damage output going (of course, because that means I'm lifeleeching).
Hello, (if still valid) hope this helps: 1) Annihilation is all about her move set, you need to get used to it, this will help a lot when/if you start Apocalypse run 2) Armor is important, to be able to survive attacks (boss cannot one-shot you), you need to have al least Heavy weight (Slow Dodge. 50% Stamina Cost Penalty), once you are familiar with attacks, weight can be changed to Medium or even Light 3) You or someone from your team can use Medic & Summoner combination to support the rest, just use "Burden of the Divine" ring(it was nerfed, but still THE key item here) and "Resonating Heart" relic; Medic archetype allows you to restore relic charges, Summoner can share some damage with minions and also help to restore relic charges 4) To deal with orbs use "Enigma" weapon or "Song of Eafir" weapon mode, in addition, when you are not able to destroy orbs, use "Vial: Elixir Of Life" skill right before orbs hit you, it is an Alchemist skill, panic button be like 5) Play as a team > play solo, no need to struggle alone, easier and faster to play together
@@ВиталикАбрамов-т8о I ended up beating nightmare version in solo. In many ways it was easier not having to worry about a teamm8 dropping. Next time it will be apoc. difficulty.
Anything you want really. Leech is extremely important though, I would work towards getting that if you can, there are plenty of people out there willing to do a coop run just for that with you.
Question since ive yet to see anyone ask and im assuming i missed something. How do you have 120 stamina with zero into endurance and -5 on a ring. That should put it at 95 stamina and since your using hp concoction its not coming from that. So im confused. Build still works but i do not have 120 stamina which would help alot.
Nevermind im a dork I see the necklace. I had the wrong one on ima just go ahead and leave this comment just in case someone else has a brain fart like I did. 😂
That is a build from the release of the game, there are MANY things I would change lol. That said, I think this build is just better all around as a generalized tank for all bosses. If I end up updating that build in particular though I'll let you know.
Blood bond now only works with summoner minions :/ It is not specified in the patch note, but the in game tooltip says so and from my testing it is indeed true (neither the turret or the dog took damage from me hitting myself with nebula). Probably an oversight, seems dumb that there is a trait that only works with one archetype, but for the moment that's how it is.
@@VashCowaii I just tried with the turret and getting it by ennemies but it doesnt seems to damage the turret at all :/ I tried with the dog too. He keep getting hit by himself, I am not sure, but it didn't seem to work either.
Is the amulet or one of the health rings necessary? Just asking because I know extra health is important for effective health and it might be needed to tank some attacks but I’m wondering if I could use dried margin for example for more damage since I’ll have a shit ton of shields and most likely have max health most of the time.
I was wondering the same, could you still tank the big hits while ditching the +15 health ring, but thinking about Ring of the Castaway (+50% consumable duration) for a few extra seconds on the confidence booster. It's a pretty tight rotation already, a few extra seconds would help if you fumble a button press.
Wheres the link to the build? I go to the website that has a builder, but it links me back to this video? Can you put the build on the site please? I watched the vid but id like to see the complete set without scrolling through the video 100 times while i collect the gear!
Is there a particular reason this build uses handler/guard dog? As the only times you mention it is in terms of having guard dog at 100% uptime, but not why thats useful. Would another archetype work just as efficiently? Cause i am loving the look of this, love melee tanks and i love the crystal staff, im just not big on handler.
You missed some text on screen. If you're just listening to me in the background, typically a bad idea since I'll add text notes if I misspoke or forgot something in the recording
It's mainly there for the microscopic healing it can provide, in a team context as well. You can realistically put whatever you want on there as spirit healer is a flex slot
Agree this update has a lot of cool items, traits and a lot of other cool stuff. But one thing I dont like is that the direction they are going for is basically meta is cool. Invoker is the latest one so of course everything Invoker related is cool. Looking at the perks of Invoker it is painfully obvious how much love it is given compared to other classes. Same can be said against Ritualist, Archon in their time. I’m sure this is designed as they need to make money as the game is very cheap. I heard they have plans to improve the other classes but just didnt have time I hope we can have these improvements before dlc 3.
Would this build work in co-op or would that mess something up or not be able to keep up with modifiers? Trying to find a good build to help a friend through apocalypse
This will work just fine in coop. There might be some extreme edge-cases where it doesn't work quite as well as you might hope bc of coop scaling, but I've already seen comments from people talking about how they carried their coop buddies that all died in a fight and they solod the boss.
Can you try a modified version of my build using invoker as primary with challenger as secondary with juggernaut skill the rings will be tear of Lydusa - generating band - sapphire dream stone - Thalos eyelet with same weapon mods you have with participation medal
Is there a reason you don’t use Leto mark one pants with red widow gloves??? I mean don’t get me wrong it’s literally a worthless amount of dr increase but you still keep the same roll speed
The armor was provided by build queries. Build queries look for the lightest armor possible that will put you to exactly 80% total DR in conjunction with the rest of your loadout, but it does not give you the highest amount of armor for a given weight category UNLESS it cannot find armor that would put you to 80% exactly, then it will do exactly that instead. In this case, it found armor that could put us to 80% exactly. It does this so that way if you have a ton of DR from accessories, and even if you specified you would allow up to a flop dodge, it will still try to give you the lightest armor possible in case you can use a lighter dodge class. Go watch the vid on build queries or "auto-generated builds" for better info on that.
Im doing something really Stupid as a melee tank but im using the Mirage and the Infinite Stamina ring...and just... Holding LEft click >> I dont think its the Tankiest thing but so far it's held up to a lot of apocalypse surprisingly well, though im using the Melee mutator that makes heavies uninterruptable The only downside is it has no ranged option so it can't really kill Flyers.
I heard that the next DLC will remove the stagger resistance from confidence booster. If so, this build might not work well since melee attacks will now get interrupted.
The good news is that even if that is true, we still had ways to do full tank builds before confidence booster, it would just be a return to those days if so. We'll see though.
Working on getting that out today. There are some minor bugs that I didn't care about while testing builds, but they're bugs I need to fix before getting it to you guys.
this is so much work to get 80% dr. i have a bulid that can hit 95 % if all the buffs are up at once. and tge only button i have to press is one ability button. ive face tanked max difficulty bosses with it. all ima say is this, ring of grace is the best ring in the game if you have a large enough health pool and damage reduction to go with it. it also stacks with a bunch of healing buffs that it probably shouldnt.
You clearly don't understand the build. This build is over 80% DR, and also doubles it's health with shields. And I guarantee this build is higher damage.
@Kriddle1229 the bulid i uave can take tal ratha suck and bite move and survive passively with no powers active and ve back at full healtg in 4 seconds. now ahow me a bulid thats stronger than that? yea his bulid does more damage, but thats not really the main point of a tank build. mine aslo requires no skill to use where as his is obnoxiously complex and high cost.
The armor he lists is Bruiser Helmet, Lito Mark II chest and legs, with Void Wraps. Alone, this has 83 encumbrance. He's wearing the Navigator's Pendant which, gives 25 stamina/health and also takes 10 off his encumbrance and is why it's 73. Check your neck slot and make sure you're wearing that necklace.
@@tarod1453 it is for sure, I love it!! Hey are u having trouble using it against bosses at all? I am with some bosses!! But it’s on apocalypse, so it’s expected!!😂
The attacks shouldn't be able to unless you screw up or get caught with no hardcore metal band stacks. The pools can still kill you though, you'll notice the only times I ever dodged in the fight were for those, but that's it.

You absolute madman....
This is the type of melee build ive been after, something engaging.
Thanks!
Hey Vash , blood bond currently doesn’t work from dlc update
The Labryrinth Sentinel theme is just unbeatable montage music
I LOVE THAT SONG MAN
Te amo, solo por mencionar Argentina 😘
This build killed all the nerves in my left arm, now I feel nothing when I roid. 😎
Lul
Since you mentioned it roughly 4 times, I'd forgotten how strong Game Master's was until we landed on it as the cheesiest solution to beating the new kiln boss on 3man apoc
I was doing a bild similar to this but i cant find the wepon mutatros i no videos show how to get them do u need them on no and if i do help
when fighting bruin, and having a skill issue on apocalypse, he will jump up and murk you with thrown spears
Thanks a lot man
I like when you say in your videos; "Please for the love of GODDD!!" 😂 Thank you for the video.
I can try and sound even more exasperated in the future, just for you
@@VashCowaii That would be awesome!😅😄
Aye yo wtf vash post again ! Also another nice meme build to run with my friends for shit and giggles, thank you.
Was running a 6 bulwark build before this….now i shall really tank
hi man i dont have the spirit healer for the primary what is the best replacemen for that the one that is rng with the free charge? thanks man that build is kinda fun
You can "normally" have 100% guard dog uptime by starting the cast, but getting interrupted by either a stagger or a dropdown.
Not anymore lol, your method is patched as of today
Did the blood bond nerf effect this? If so what do i pick now?
Was hoping we'd see another tank melee build after those nerfs
Hello, (if still valid) hope this helps:
1) Annihilation is all about her move set, you need to get used to it, this will help a lot when/if you start Apocalypse run
2) Armor is important, to be able to survive attacks (boss cannot one-shot you), you need to have al least Heavy weight (Slow Dodge. 50% Stamina Cost Penalty), once you are familiar with attacks, weight can be changed to Medium or even Light
3) You or someone from your team can use Medic & Summoner combination to support the rest, just use "Burden of the Divine" ring(it was nerfed, but still THE key item here) and "Resonating Heart" relic; Medic archetype allows you to restore relic charges, Summoner can share some damage with minions and also help to restore relic charges
4) To deal with orbs use "Enigma" weapon or "Song of Eafir" weapon mode, in addition, when you are not able to destroy orbs, use "Vial: Elixir Of Life" skill right before orbs hit you, it is an Alchemist skill, panic button be like
5) Play as a team > play solo, no need to struggle alone, easier and faster to play together
@@ВиталикАбрамов-т8о I ended up beating nightmare version in solo. In many ways it was easier not having to worry about a teamm8 dropping. Next time it will be apoc. difficulty.
Checked out your channel history and you being a former Warframe player explains everything here with the level of minmaxing going on.
Did you check what my warframe videos were, though lol? I think they're a touch different than what you are thinking
Great content! Is there anything to use instead of leech trait?
Are there any upgrades that you recommend to your tank medic summoner no guns build?
That is a build from the release of the game, there are MANY things I would change lol. That said, I think this build is just better all around as a generalized tank for all bosses.
If I end up updating that build in particular though I'll let you know.
they just removed the stagger resistance from confidence booster :( what do i do now it was my favorit build...
I might get a vid out later tonight but we'll see
@@VashCowaiithere’s a chance at a stagger resistance legendary trait at prism rank 51 this build isn’t totally dead!!!
Hey just wanted to ask.. would you say this is a better tank build than the suicide self firestorm with the burden of the divine and summoner?
In terms of general tanking between all bosses? Yes, much better
Ok so you're basically just dancing with a stick and everything dies. Got it.
Not far off lol
Blood bond now only works with summoner minions :/
It is not specified in the patch note, but the in game tooltip says so and from my testing it is indeed true (neither the turret or the dog took damage from me hitting myself with nebula).
Probably an oversight, seems dumb that there is a trait that only works with one archetype, but for the moment that's how it is.
It's possible that it just doesn't work with self damage now, because I swear I've seen it work during these fights when the dog wasn't hit but I was.
@@VashCowaii I just tried with the turret and getting it by ennemies but it doesnt seems to damage the turret at all :/
I tried with the dog too. He keep getting hit by himself, I am not sure, but it didn't seem to work either.
Since you don’t use relic, tear of lydusa could be a good choice since it gives good lifesteal efficacy
god this build IS horrifying. i wanna try it. i might not be able to handle a tank that needs more than "spam m1" but i'm sure gonna try hehehe
It takes some getting used to for sure, but I think it's manageable after some practice. Not gonna be for everyone tho I get that
Is the amulet or one of the health rings necessary? Just asking because I know extra health is important for effective health and it might be needed to tank some attacks but I’m wondering if I could use dried margin for example for more damage since I’ll have a shit ton of shields and most likely have max health most of the time.
I was wondering the same, could you still tank the big hits while ditching the +15 health ring, but thinking about Ring of the Castaway (+50% consumable duration) for a few extra seconds on the confidence booster. It's a pretty tight rotation already, a few extra seconds would help if you fumble a button press.
It's extremely important. On weaker bosses sure change it up and do w/e you want, but on the pinnacle bosses you're gonna get clapped
Wheres the link to the build? I go to the website that has a builder, but it links me back to this video? Can you put the build on the site please? I watched the vid but id like to see the complete set without scrolling through the video 100 times while i collect the gear!
Brotherman does not miss.
@@VashCowaii that'll be it as yeah I tend to just listen in the background. I shall go back and rewatch 😊
Is there a workable alternative to Spirit Healer on long gun?
It's mainly there for the microscopic healing it can provide, in a team context as well. You can realistically put whatever you want on there as spirit healer is a flex slot
@VashCowaii thanks appreciated!
Do we still keep shielded strike to level 9?
Enemies hit harder and have more hp in co-op.
This will work just fine in coop. There might be some extreme edge-cases where it doesn't work quite as well as you might hope bc of coop scaling, but I've already seen comments from people talking about how they carried their coop buddies that all died in a fight and they solod the boss.
I currently don’t have spirit healer. What other recommendations would you give until I get it?
Disregard lol just got it rn
lmao grats
My goat
Can you try a modified version of my build using invoker as primary with challenger as secondary with juggernaut skill the rings will be tear of Lydusa - generating band - sapphire dream stone - Thalos eyelet with same weapon mods you have with participation medal
why
Is there a good build for those who haven't played the DLC yet to get these items? Not necessarily Apocalypse ready just enough to beat the DLCs.
You could look into the havoc form build or the new melee build that uses Hero's Sword, both I posted within the last couple days.
@@VashCowaii Thank you. I'm also trying out the new calculator to see how that goes, thank you for making it!
@Vash Cowaii do you know how Resolute actually works
I haven't explicitly tested it but it should just speed up how quickly you recover from stagger effects, no?
@VashCowaii yeah honestly i commented and actually didn't use my head for a second and think
@@darksiders9239 all good lol
This is no mere "weaponized autism." This is a level of magnificent autism forbidden by the laws of man and god. Marvelous
Im doing something really Stupid as a melee tank but im using the Mirage and the Infinite Stamina ring...and just... Holding LEft click >> I dont think its the Tankiest thing but so far it's held up to a lot of apocalypse surprisingly well, though im using the Melee mutator that makes heavies uninterruptable
The only downside is it has no ranged option so it can't really kill Flyers.
Hey thanks.just beat the stonewarden for the 1st time.didnt come close to dying.
Hell yeah man
I heard that the next DLC will remove the stagger resistance from confidence booster. If so, this build might not work well since melee attacks will now get interrupted.
The good news is that even if that is true, we still had ways to do full tank builds before confidence booster, it would just be a return to those days if so. We'll see though.
Can this work without leech? It wouldn't be that hard to get....., but I'm mostly solo in this game.
It's pretty important man
Waiting for the update on your build program, disciple gear isn't inside the list.
Ring of grace is rarely a good choice, but it can still be a good choice on some builds.
@VashCowaii ring of grace has been on my main bulid since i got it the first few days the game came out. cant think of a stronger healing item.
@@343killedhalo4 Share a video of you doing it so we can see that and how much damage it does.
How do you get your armor weight down to 73.0? I’m over weight right now at 83.0
The armor he lists is Bruiser Helmet, Lito Mark II chest and legs, with Void Wraps. Alone, this has 83 encumbrance. He's wearing the Navigator's Pendant which, gives 25 stamina/health and also takes 10 off his encumbrance and is why it's 73. Check your neck slot and make sure you're wearing that necklace.

I've been running a melee build lately with the crystal staff, it's honestly been the easiest playthrough I've had so far lol.
Can Spiteful, Vicious Venom still one-shot you with certain attacks?
The attacks shouldn't be able to unless you screw up or get caught with no hardcore metal band stacks. The pools can still kill you though, you'll notice the only times I ever dodged in the fight were for those, but that's it.
think Visionary might just be the best prime perk in the game now.
Bro has his own boss health bar lol
Hello. Its today actually?
Is leech critical for this build?
It is fairly important lol. The diff between 6% total lifesteal and 9% may not seem like much, but it matters here.
